We get seated quickly but our order isn't taken for a long time our waiter shows up and says he's the waiter and bartender, takes our order and we never see him again. We flag him for dessert menu but he never comes back. When we give up on dessert and flag him down for the check, I ask him how to get a real server next time since he seemed to forget about us, he says didn't forget he was just busy, says he told us he was the bartender so ask for a server next time. My wife and I just got back from Barcelona and we were craving authentic Spanish cuisine in Albuquerque. Reviews pointed us to Triana's. They did not disappoint! It's a small restaurant in Nob Hill that set the tone for the excellent food that followed. The server graciously asked us if we have experienced dining there and was very helpful with explaining their menu and the different tapas. We decided on croquetas, paella Pulpo with various seafood and octopus (shareable for 2). The Pulpo was very tender and the rice has the crispy bits that is authentic paella. The croqueta is a little bit oily when you bite into it. For dessert we decided on the Basque cheesecake which we liked so much because its not too sweet, and paired it with coffee. Came her for Valentine's Day. It has a cool vibe , I wish it was a little darker in there and that would make it a little more romantic. They have a smaller menu than other small plate places we have tried but the food was very good. I highly recommend the carrots. I believe we got 3 different dishes and it was enough for 2 people. As an out of towner that frequents ABQ for business, I am always looking for delicious places to be able to unwind after a long work day. I am so happy I found Triana! The second I walked into the restaurant, the smell was immaculate... I knew I was about to eat good lol. I sat at the bar and Ben, who has to be one of the best bartenders I had met was so attentive and friendly. He made the experience 100 times better. I order the Pollo Asado al Ajillo and the Esparagos à la plancha. Holy smokes both plates were out of this world ! I legit cleared my plates. Do yourself a favor and try Triana, you won't be disappointed!! I can't wait to come back during my next business trip to try more items and to see Ben! read more

The restaurant and outside were so lovely. I'm a big fan of tapas and I really enjoyed their gambas al ajillo and pintxo de pollo. Their mocktails were amazing! The croquetas were recommended but were a bit rich and too much filling for my taste and I would have liked slightly more balance with the pan con queso as well. Even though I love goat cheese it actually could have had less to balance the tapas out. Stopped by Triana on a Friday night around 7 pm after flying in to Sunport. There is decent street parking by the restaurant. The restaurant has a very modern and intimate vibe, with low lighting and smaller tables. There were several open tables, so we got seated immediately and placed our orders. We started with the pan con tomate, a classic Spanish tapa. The presentation was fantastic -- I thought it was super creative to have the olives on a skewer sticking out of the bread. I personally enjoyed how the bread was slightly over toasted, giving the bread so much crunch. Next was the Filet de Lomo, or steak skewers. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to a great medium rare. I absolutely loved the green sauce it was paired with, it gave such a garlicky? kick to the dish. We then moved on to the Rabo de Toro, or oxtail. The presentation of this dish was amazing, with fried onions on top of the oxtail and mashed potatoes. The oxtail was very tender and tasty with the espangole, and the mashed potatoes were very rich and smooth. Next was the tartar -- since they ran out of tuna, salmon was used instead. Despite the switch, the fish was still great: the fish was very fresh and soft, and there was a lovely tang due to the lemon. We finished off with the glazed duck breast. The dish arrived very warm, and the meat was very fresh. I will say that with the skin of the duck breast on, the dish was quite salty (but I removed the skin and the duck breast was perfect). I found the raisin-orange-lettuce salad was very unique, but a great compliment to the salty nature of the duck. Triana was an amazing welcome into Albuquerque! The dishes had amazing flavors and beautiful presentation. I will definitely look to come back the next time I'm in New Mexico! read more

We went here for date night, and we had a lovely time. Every plate we had was so delicious! I have celiac and the server was incredibly kind when I said everything we intended to order tonight would be gluten free. I also loved that the gluten-free items were clearly marked on the menu. When I had a question about the menu, our server didn't hesitate at all to ask the chef. I truly felt welcome and not at all like a burden, which sometimes happens at other restaurants. I also loved that they had mocktails on the menu! As a mom, I also can't say how much I appreciate that there was a changing table in the bathroom, though I wouldn't recommend bringing a toddler if you can avoid it. I don't think they'd enjoy it as much as the adults would. Better to get a sitter, because it really is the perfect spot for date night or happy hour with your friends. read more

One of my favorite spots in town! We come semi frequently for the happy hour and are never disappointed. I love the location, and the ambience and everyone we bring here inevitably asks about the little tapas place we took them to. Our favorites are the albondigas, berenjenas and the zanahorias. The meatballs are paired with a great sauce. The eggplant is always fried to perfection, drizzled with a tangy pomegranate molasses that elevates the simple plate. The carrots are cooked beautifully, lightly charred and paired with a harissa that gives body to the smoke. We were visiting Albuquerque with family and ended up eating here two nights in a row. First, greeted by the owner who was quite gracious and clearly loved what he was doing - Sat in the bar area and the cocktail bartender and staff were attentive and helpful with food ideas. And the hand crafted and creative cocktails were great - especially the Spanish Old Fashioned and Brown Butter Old Fashioned. - we also tried the wine flight which was okay but the cocktails were excellent. For food we tried the Pinxto De Lomo (beef cubes so good) and Pinxto de Pulpo (excellent charred Octopus with Potatoes); the Spanish Olives in Lemon and Fennel "oh my" - and the white anchovies. The second night we had the Salmon Marruecos and the Crispy Duck. The Salmon was especially a treat. So - ABQ - try something different - make this a destination place during the week. Overall it's a solid place with a lovely menu. I personally didn't care for the mushroom croquettas. We were a group of 7 and also ordered the shrimp, beet salad, shishito peppers, and the albondingas and the tabla de jamon y Queso. I asked our waiter to hold the blue cheese from the board since I'm allergic and he got very confused by my request and didn't want to make any modifications to the board even though I am specifically allergic to bleu cheese. The food was delicious overall except the mushroom croquetas, my favorite was the albodingas and shrimp. The entire restaurant feels very different inside from before when it was the taco spot. They really did a nice job remodeling and decorating. I liked the drink especially the pink hibiscus lime vodka cocktail. Will be back to try more tapas! read more

The staff were friendly and accomodating, and service was excellent. The tapas menu is extensive and varied; clearly I'll go back to try more. The happy hour is a bargain! Three different tapas at five dollars each, reduced prices on select beverages. Live music tonight was flamenco guitar by Joaquin Gallegos a top notch performer with amazing dexterity. Sound level throughout was good; on occasion a bit hard to hear the guitar. Conversations everywhere were certainly lively. I love the decor and lighting. Very lovely restaurant! The inside has a couple seating area options, the main dining area or the bar. We chose to sit at a high top table in the bar area. It was cozy, welcoming, and warm. They offer some very tasty happy hour options from 4-6pm. We ordered everything on the food section for happy hour plus the shrimp from the regular menu. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The menu was amazing. It was so hard to choose what to try. We started with the asparagus small plate (probably the best we've had anywhere), and 2 different bruscetta choices, all shared among us. Very yummy! Wow we were having a girls night and walked over here after doing a craft down the street. We came in 30 minutes before closing on a Thursday evening. It was late so there were only a couple of other tables seated. We sat at a table in the bar. The atmosphere was great and our server who was also the bartender was fun and friendly. I loved the pacing of how they brought out our dishes. We ordered 6 dishes in total. Three came out first, we finished those, two more came out, and then the last dish came. Even though we came very late in the evening we didn't feel rushed. We had the tempura eggplant, fried potatoes, meatballs, sautéed mushrooms, grilled artichokes, pan con tomate (like a bruschetta but so much more amazing.) Everything was perfectly seasoned and well-balanced. We all had different favorites and agreed we would all be coming back as soon as possible.
