A friend and I had decided to come back again. Happy it reopened. Took awhile for them to take our order but the place was pretty busy and there appeared to be only two workers. Wine was delicious, I had a Malbec and he had a Tempranillo. We shared the Italian sandwich and the fig and Brie. Both were outstanding! The place pretty much oils the same as before. Nice decor and ambiance. Definitely returning.

On a whim, and a craving for a good charcuterie board, we visited Salt and Board. This restaurant was never on my radar before so I was curious and am glad we tried it. We sat next to the window and were served in a timely manner. There is a side patio if you don't want to eat inside. Bright, simple and uncluttered, the server, who also handled the bar was informative about every item that was on the 'board'. Just look at my photo and you may want to check it out also!

Excellent place to have a filling meal! The service was amazing. This place is located off of Central right down the path of Cheba hut, family friendly kids are welcome and the most of all the food is absolutely amazing..

Wow! I finally stopped in and I was well pleased. Holiday lunch with a great friend. We had planned to go across the street, but alas they were closed. So we chose the Salt and Board. We each had the avocado toast. Crisp buttery bread, topped with beautiful and plentiful slices of avocado, tasty fresh greens and onion, lovely olive oil dressing and d sprinkled with "everything" spices. YUM! Nice decor, spacious, and it was not over crowded when we stopped in. Great for our catch up conversation. Might be more noisy with more folks inside. Nice selection of sandwiches and salad, fresh drinks. Lovely and I can't wait to go back.

Pretty cozy restaurant and friendly service. The sandwich was very good but it felt like it could have had more on it. Delicious salad dressing on the side salad.

The board had just the perfect amount for 2 and everything was high quality and amazing. Glad we found this place off of the beaten path.

Salt and Board made for an excellent start to nine days of great New Mexico eating. We looked forward to gorging on heavy-duty New Mexican food during our stay in the state (and we ended up doing just that). But after a long travel day featuring crappy airport food, and a significant elevation change, somewhat lighter fare was calling us on this first evening. Salt and Board was only about four blocks from where we staying. I wish it were about four blocks from where we live now. Salt and Board's menu is small and simple, featuring only three salads, a few charcuterie boards, and a handful of "toasts" and pressed sandwiches. We went with the "small" charcuterie board and the root vegetable salad, and it turned out to be plenty of food for two. The board featured just a couple of meats (one a salami style and the other a spicy, smoky one) and a couple of cheeses (one creamy one and one harder and saltier), plus a bacon jam, an apricot mostrada, and mustard, as well as olives and perfectly toasted crostini. (Our server, who was pleasant and helpful throughout our time there, was happy to bring us extra crostini at no extra charge.) It became immediately apparent which cheeses paired best respectively with the jam and mostrada, which were both little bombs of very different flavor. The simple root vegetable salad--heavy on arugula, shaved fennel, and beets--was simple, lightly (i.e., properly) dressed, and showcased the freshness of the ingredients. Nice list of local draft beer. What we sampled--a couple of IPAs and an Oktoberfest--were very good. All of this food and drink plus tax and tip came in at barely $70, which was a great value these days for its high quality. Call it 4.5 stars, rounded up.

Small charcuterie board. Very colorful and flavorful. Couldn't even finish it all!

Went for the first time last week, and had to come back this week! Everything was delicious. Vibe was very chill and service was very knowledgeable and friendly. I love that they had suggested wine pairings because the Chianti we had was perfect. The food was incredible. Not super heavy but so many flavor combinations. Every item felt very intentional. We had a small charcuterie board and I got the burrata toast. I literally saved a slice of the toast for the morning just to extend the experience hahaha and it was good straight out of the fridge! My partner got the Reuben and loved it. Highly recommend!!

Great place for a date night! Light eats with very artfully arranged charcuterie. The flavor combinations are well thought out and there were some unique components like bacon jam. They also have an extensive wine list and some beer on tap. Service was fast and our waitress was very helpful. Overall a great experience

Summertime on a humid weekday afternoon. Just taking the day as it is... my girlfriend brought this place up and it proved to be a slam dunk! Located next to UNM, this spot is a necessity! A ton of local beers, a big wine list and epic charcuterie boards. The happy hour is exceptional! They have one everyday along with daily specials. We were lucky enough for half off all wine bottles! We shared a small board (which was plenty for 2) and we split the Cuban sandwich- which comes pressed with a fresh side salad. This proved to be the perfect place for a day date with my boo.

Today I came in for a quick bite on my way out of New Mexico. I came here with Thing One and a friend. We ordered a charcuterie board and three sandwiches. Charcuterie Board This board was just great. It had a little bit of this and a little bit of that on it....to include hardy cheese, Jams, olives, and meats. This board included something for everyone at the table. The Vegetarian Sandwich I ordered this sandwich and it was delightful. It included roasted veggies with a garlic aioli spread. The bread was a tad over toasted but still a good sandwich. The Cuban Thing One had this sandwich and was pleased with the hearty meats and cheese on this dish. The Italian I only snapped a quick photo of this dish before my guest could eat this by stopping them by yelling "Hey wait, I need to take a picture of that first". While I didn't get to personally sample this dish, the person who did advised they enjoyed the layers this sandwich provided (as far taste was concerned). This was by far the best meal we had as a group in New Mexico! But be aware the prices on the website don't match the prices on the menu at the location. The prices for most are a dollar to two dollars more in store than listed on the site. #supportlocal

Hidden Gem in Nobhill Albuquerque…read more I recently visited the restaurant at Mission Winery and had a great experience from start to finish. To start, I ordered the sangria and the crab & artichoke dip. The sangria was on the sweeter side but not overwhelmingly so, making it easy to enjoy with the appetizer. The dip was delicious, creamy, and packed with flavor, although I honestly couldn't taste much artichoke. It was still a great starter, especially paired with the bread. For dinner, I ordered the red chile fried chicken bites with fries. The chicken was the standout of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and coated in a delicious red chile sauce that had just the right amount of kick. The fries were perfectly cooked and paired well with the ketchup. My friend shared the appetizer with me and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, which she enjoyed alongside one of the wine tasting flights. The real surprise of the evening came after dinner. Our host handed us a card with a password to access the speakeasy downstairs. If you visit Mission Winery, don't skip this part. The speakeasy had a completely different atmosphere from the restaurant above and quickly became the highlight of the night. The space feels intimate, sophisticated, and thoughtfully designed, with dark wood accents, comfortable seating, and a stylish lounge vibe. My friend and I both ordered espresso martinis, and they were fantastic. The presentation alone was impressive--the unique glassware was chilled and helped keep the cocktail cold longer, allowing us to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. Between the excellent food, wine, creative cocktails, and the hidden speakeasy experience, Mission Winery offers much more than just a typical dinner out. The restaurant was great, but the speakeasy downstairs is what will have me coming back. Recommendation: Start with dinner upstairs, then ask about the speakeasy password and finish your evening downstairs with an espresso martini. It's one of the coolest date night or girls' night experiences I've found in Albuquerque.

It's very salty, and (given Albuquerque's incredible farm to table selection) falls short on feeling exceptional. It's processed food that feels like high-end Chili's fare. The wine list is well selected and offers some nice little discoveries. The food is hit and miss. -Pigs' ears were incredible, fried mushrooms were not (heavy on the breading and mushrooms were impossible to taste). -The multitude of pickles are fun but sometimes overwhelm the palate and risk becoming a schtick. -The chicken liver pâté (actually a parfait) was good flavor-wise but wasn't emulsified properly (grainy) and was served too cold (and therefore hard) rather than at room temperature where it would be rich and creamy. -While I understand that it's easier to manage, I'd have liked to see some fresh bread as an alternative to the croutons. The salumi were likewise hit-and-miss. -The bresaola (a hard one to hit on) was overly salty, a little too dried, and should have been cut paper thin on the slicer rather than thickish slices offered. -The salami was very good -The fries had excellent flavor but it would be nice to see them achieve better crisp (thrice-fried) and little less salt (something that comes up a little often throughout). Having said all this, the chef is having fun in the kitchen, experimenting, and coming up with some ingenious items and combinations. So I'd like to see more consistency but there was enough to choose from that I will definitely go back.

It was delicious, interesting. We were after a light bite and I had the chicken liver pate, a nice cube of it with lots of bread and a scattering of pickled vegetables-nice contrast! I had the roasted butternut squash also, a generous serving, with a very crunchy skin. Once I figured out I could break the skin by folding it with my fork after making a crease in it with my knife I ate every bit of it, the creamy flesh and the crisp peel and the greens that came with it. Husband had the smoked tinned oysters that I thoroughly enjoyed on his behalf because he wasn't wild about it. He admitted he is partial to fresh oysters and so no other preparation was going to match that preference. His loss, my gain. We finished off the meal sharing the chocolate bark and we lingered over our drinks, chatted with the waiter and the chef and left feeling happy with the adventure. It's pricey so be forewarned. I found the uniqueness of the flavors, the attention paid by the chef and the drinkologist to flavor, balance, presentation and the civilized atmosphere to be worthy of the cost.
