Cruzita translates to "Baby Cross," which somehow made an already great name even better. From the start, she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. One of the best parts? You get the full menu at the bar, so you're not missing a thing. We started with the veal ravioli, which received the highly technical and thoroughly researched review of: "So f*ing good. So good though..." Honestly, no additional notes were needed. Then came the 8-ounce filet, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach. Everything was excellent. The filet was cooked perfectly, the sides were rich and flavorful, and those famous sizzling plates reminded us that patience is, in fact, a virtue. The portions won. We ended up packing up leftovers and taking dessert to go--a carrot cake and crème brûlée. I've had the carrot cake before and can confirm it's worth the hype. The fact that we were stuffed and still ordered dessert says everything you need to know. What really stood out, though, was the overall experience. The customer service was fantastic, the vibe was relaxed, and the atmosphere hit that sweet spot: lively enough to feel like you're out enjoying yourself, but not so loud that you're shouting across the bar. No awkward silence, no overwhelming noise--just comfortable. If you're headed to Ruth's Chris at The Fountains at Farah, don't overlook the bar. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and if you're lucky enough to land a seat with Cruzita--Baby Cross herself--you're already off to a great start. A group of about eight friends (old and new) enjoyed the get together, the ambiance, and the food pairings. We got their slightly after they started but we caught up fast enough. The tasting started with a summer tomato and goat cheese salad paired with a moet a& Chandon with ice. It was really good. Moet on ice, ain't too bad. The second course was an almond crust d lobster tail paired with a imperial rosé. I've been to a few Ruth's Chris locations when I lived in SoCal and they were always top quality and service, so I expected no less of this location despite it being in El Paso. My husband and I set reservations for his birthday on Halloween. We were a little late but it was no issue, the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. The hostess was welcoming and sat us right away. We had a booth large enough for a family, but very roomy for just two people. The restaurant is located within an outdoor shopping mall so it's different than other standalone locations I used to frequent. Our waiter that served us for the evening was good. He came around to check on us often, however, I do feel service was a bit slow. I enjoy a good dining experience but we were there for two hours. Much longer than the average dinner at a restaurant. Mode our meals my husband ordered the ribeye steak with the Parmesan crust. I absolutely LOVE their Caesar salad, so that was my first choice. For sides we got the max and cheese, au gratin potatoes and my husband wanted to try their garlic mashed potatoes as well. Everything tasted great! I will note that the sides weren't as hot as I would have expected if it was just prepared. All of the dishes were just Luke warm. The mac and cheese would have been nice with more sauce as well, came out a bit dry. I did appreciate that our server gave my husband a cute little cheesecake for his birthday. He also brought one out for me as well which I thought was very sweet. Overall I'd say our dining experience was worthy of 4 stars. That was my first time at Ruth's Chris and I left satisfied and happy with how the evening went. I'm in El Paso while on business and my wife was visiting for a week so I had to find a place for Thanksgiving dinner and I'm glad I chose this restaurant. It was very clean and welcoming, the host and servers were very friendly and helpful when it came to the menu. the price to quality of food and preparation was superb. They did have a Thanksgiving Day menu available, but we decided on ordering from the standard menu. I had the ribeye and shrimp and my wife had that fillet minion and shrimp. Both cooked to perfection to the doneness that we wanted and the sides were great as well. We had the stuffed mushrooms as the appetizer and the Caesar salad was so delicious. The night ended with a Pumpkin cheesecake and vanilla bean ice cream that left me wanting seconds. All settled on the 3 course for 55 but I upgraded the steak to the 16 oz NY strip rather than the 8 oz. for the meantime, I enjoyed a Ruth's old fashioned which I thought was pretty strong. But I enjoyed the spirits along with good conversation. The 3 course meal consisted of salad, main dish with side, and desert. I opted for a house salad with blue cheese which was a great starter with bread. My plate arrived soon after. A great looking thick steak seared to perfection. First cut released heat and steam and the bite was so delish. Meat was tender and pink juicy and flavorful. I like my meat medium and pink and there was no doubt it was cooked to perfection. My plate came with creamed spinach. I love spinach and this side was a no brainer, very tasty. Later in the evening our desert consisted of a small cheesecake tart with fresh berries. Gratefully it ended up being one of the best steaks I've ever had! You won't regret it. It was prepared medium-well, as requested and I enjoyed every bite. Came on a rainy day, we were seated in the room with the bar in dark ambiance with candlelight. Service was very very slow and had to wait a long time to order, to get the food and for dessert. Seemed to only be 1 server and the kitchen is on the other side of another room. The whole dinner was almost 3 hours long. We understand that this is a steak house, I don't recommend vegetarians to visit. Some vegetables are cooked with bacon and are not fresh. Macaroni and cheese is too creamy, coworker didn't eat any of it after 1 bite. I suggest more cheese and less cream. I would say the meal tasted good but everything is made with butter and we could feel it when it's digested. I was glad I got to experience Ruth Chris but I don't plan to come back. What a horrible, disappointing experience. 4 adults went for thanksgiving luncheon. Food: you would think a steak restaurant could cook a steak. I normally eat them med-rare. I ordered a small filet and moved it to rare because I know rest overcook everything. It came out cold and medium well if anything. The shrimp were rubber, mashed potatoes were dry, cream spinach was watery and bland. Partner got turkey special. Dry, cold not edible, asked gut more gravy and received one once, yes one shot of gravy. Bread showed up late, others had horrible Brussels sprouts, and these mini cheesecake bites that were bland and overpriced. Over 350 lunch for 4 ...and all of it was below average. Service was horrible, had leftover giant bags they give you and we asked if waitress could put them somewhere until we were ready to go and was told no. We had to deal with them and 4 large adults in small booth. Utterly bland, terribly cooked food. Even the water was not drinkable and not filtered from an electric paso tap. Utterly disappointing, weak and disgusting food. El Paso has good steak houses at normal prices. This is not one. Way overpriced and sub par. Go elsewhere. read more

The steaks had top quality texture and temperature but the flavor was much to be desired. Not much seasoning and not much to talk about besides the amazing texture. The lobster Mac was be a complete waste of money; do not order it. It has similar quality to what I had in middle school but added in lobster which was tasty. The cheesecake was good but nothing to brag about. For the price of the food I would have expected something similar to other classy restaurants. Capital grille has a similar style but a much higher quality of food and flavor at around 100$ less on average for overall price. Caveats: I'm an adventurous eater who is also a very good cook and who can grill/cast iron her own steaks and seafood quite well. When I dine out, my minimum expectation is pretty delicious food and at least functional service. When I dine out at a $$$$ price point, I'm looking for excellent service, an innovative menu, top-quality ingredients and some level of cooking technique or composition exceeding my own. My recent visit to RC provided pleasant and generally competent service (my water was never refilled, although I drank it in the first 15 minutes and finally requested a refill about 45 minutes later, near the end of the meal.) The steak was very good quality cooked to the correct temperature but was unmemorable. The sides were mediocre at best. The cocktails were good, but weak. The quality of ingredients beyond the steak did not stand out. If the meal had been $$, I would have said it was an okay experience but I would not hurry back. At $$$$, nope. It will be another decade before I visit a RC. I'd suggest Cattleman's in Fabens instead. Worth the drive for a profound difference on all points mentioned. Or frankly, Cafe Central in Downtown does a much better job with most dishes at or a bit below this price point. Anson Eleven provides better food and service and ambience for a lower price point. Chala's Wood Fire Grill in Mesilla (Las Cruces) provides better steaks, chops and premise-smoked meats for a much lower price point (in a more modest setting, but with kind and usually more personal service.) Bottom line: If you're going to spend RC $, there are way better options locally that will put more of your money into local pockets providing better value. read more

You can go to Ruth's Chris on a budget, even on the weekend. They also offer a happy hour menu Sunday-Thursday. My bf said to get whatever I wanted, though. Ruth's Chris really goes out of their way to make a person feel special. They ask you if you're celebrating a special day like your birthday, wedding anniversary, etc. when you make a reservation. It's always best to make a reservation online or by phone before visiting. I saw a few people show up without a reservation. The restaurant said it would be at least a two-hour wait. I would be willing to wait if I had to. I'd prefer not to...hence the reservation. I guess what I'm trying to say is Ruth's Chris is worth the wait. I ordered a filet with shrimp, along with the steak salad and a side of mashed potatoes and chocolate cake. I was also given bread pudding since I told them it was my birthday in the reservation. Everything except for the bread pudding came together. I ordered the Ruth's Classic I believe. I prefered getting something like this instead of paying for everything separately aka ala carte. Everything tasted great. It was all cooked and seasoned well. The service by every employee was also excellent. They confirmed my reservation three times! It all started with a single, divorced mom (Ruth Fertel) in New Orleans back in 1965. She employed other single moms as her waitstaff. It was said that she only seasoned the steaks with salt and pepper. The restaurant's steak is wet-aged rather than dry-aged. Wet-aged steaks age after being vacuum-packed in plastic and wouldn't go bad. The chain has had its share of ups and downs with lawsuits, etc. Anyway, everything was great for my birthday. This location deserves six stars! The wait staff is amazing and was able to make a gal pal birthday celebration memorable. Birthday Girl ordered her steak well done- well they had it cooked to perfection!!!!! They are truly experts at what they do. The sweet potato casserole, topped with chopped pecans and a brown sugar glaze, was the best I have ever tasted. We went on a Thursday night right after work, so it was not crowded. They have valet parking if you prefer. Yes, it is pricey, but life is not a dress rehearsal- you can't go back and relive it. However after we both ordered filet mignon's, it took well over an hour to get our food. The server apologized and said that the kitchen was backed up. By the time we got our food I was so upset that I sent my steak back. Not once did the server or a manager come and see how our table was doing or even apologize that the food took so long. I really enjoy Ruth Chris! Located inside the Fountains at Farah, this place is a higher end steak house. Mostly because of the prices, but the food and decor really are nice too. Very modern / fancy as far as how it's laid out and decorated, and the food is incredible. It's worth the higher prices compared to lower end or other chain based steak houses. This is definitely a place you can dress up. The way it's decorated and such, you won't be out of place here with a suit and tie. Nor would you in a nice dress and some heels. However, I must note, they do not have an official dress code. I asked specifically one time when making a reservation here and the answer was no; no dress code. I mention this because, it is in the Fountains. While the Fountains is a nicer shopping area, it still attracts persons in all types of attire. And when completing a full day of shopping, many patrons often like to stop by Ruth Chris for a nice dinner or perhaps a drink at the bar. So while you won't be out of place in a suit and tie, you might feel out of place, depending on who else is in there. For example, I had made reservations, was dressed very nicely, as was my guest, and that's totally fine. Others were also there that evening dressed very nicely. However, the table next to ours, was a family of 4. Mom, dad, and two small children. They all had on just regular jeans and tennis shoes, the kids were doing stuff small kids do. It wasn't a big deal of course, and I still enjoyed my experience. But it was a bit odd to be there clearly dressed on the more formal side, sitting next to people that looked like they just rolled outta bed. Again, I'm not knocking that family at all. Hey, if you can pay for it, go for it! I know I mostly wear jeans and sneakers everywhere I go. But here, I couldn't tell if I was the one feeling weird, or them? So just keep that in mind. Ruth's Chris is my favorite go to spot for special occasions, even though it's a chain. The consistent quality ingredients is what keeps me coming back and loyal. I have yet to find a better Caesar salad and rib eye. Oftentimes, the portions of steak are large enough to share with my spouse and just get our own salads because those are too yummy to share. Pomegranate martinis are not to be missed. If you're on a budget, I recommend their happy hour where they offer great deals and you can sit at the bar. In these Covid times, they only offer outdoor seating on the weekends unfortunately, I wish it was all the time. I would be there more frequently if it that was the case. Great girls night here!!! First of all, i am embarassed to admit that we were late for our 6pm reservations, as we arrived 15 mins after! They were gracious still to allow us a table which im sure was very debatable at that point for them to even allow so i was beyond grateful already at how amazing this place is! The service is top freaking notch since absolutely EVERY person is trained to give as much attention to each table as possible. They gave great recommendations for wine and were very knowledgeable! We both ordered the set meal of the Filet Oscar which was a 6oz sirloin with a crab cake and the choice of salad or crab stuffed mushroom and a side or either creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, or something else lol. My friend chose the mash and i thought the creamed spinach looked divine. Come to find out creamed spinach was not my fave lol. It just had an off taste to me that tasted like collard greens so i was sad to have it wasted. Mashed potatoes were good though! I also ordered my steak medium but it came out more medium well. Ok. So I haven't posted in several years but something my husband and I love to do is sit at the bar, have some "house wine", and order the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. By no means are we rich but we are blessed just the same. Tonight we had a bartender we had not seen before. My husband now loves Merlot. We asked for a glass of the "house" Merlot...the 7 ounce. Absolutely loved our crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. We order a second glass of the "house" Merlot. So when the check came each glass of Merlot was $25!!!! That's $50!!!. The bartender replied; "we do not have a "house" Merlot . This is the only Merlot by the glass ". So very disappointed. I asked him why he didn't say so. No response. Come on people. Everything has gone up in price but let's be transparent. I'm very disappointed. But I will own the fact NEVER to trust a "house" wine. read more

25Feb23, El Paso, Tx. The first time the wife and I had been away in quite a while, we decided to try something nice and new (to us). We were seated promptly, and our waiter did a good job. Not excellent, but adequate. My wife ordered the sea bass, and I ordered the $64 ribeye and $13 asparagus (outrageous; it's a weed FFS). For an appetizer, we ordered the $20 Barbecued Shrimp. They were "ok". They were served barely above room temperature, had no char or grille marks whatsoever, and the sauce was just "meh". I ordered my ribeye medium rare, thinking a place like this could handle such a request. Silly of me to assume that. Had a nice char but was dead RAW inside. Medium rare is 130°-140°. This was room temp. Had to send it back twice. On the 3rd trip to the table, it was basically Medium, and that was fine. The magic was gone by then though. The sea bass with spinach, and mashed potatoes she ordered were quite good. Here's the kicker for me. Once we escaped this experience after laying out $240 with the tip, we both felt like trash ALLLL NIGHT LONG. You know that feeling when you go to Chilis or Applebees? You know that MSG heartbeat and MSG swelling? Yep. Good old Applebees caliber MSG experience from Ruth's Chris. For a place with the hype they have, they could just MAKE the food taste good without covering everything in MSG. 3/10 do not recommend. Not impressed. Will not return, ever. Only reason I gave 3 is because the sea bass was excellent and the ribeye was fine once they cooked it, otherwise it was a 1/10 experience based on the food and MSG content. Do better. You certainly put yourself out there as being better. Now prove it. read more

Ambiance of the place was so romantic. Wouldn't recommend the lobster bisque it's bland and costly. All the sides are separate so be careful when choosing. Steak was one of the best steaks we had ever had. Would go again. read more

Normally I love Ruth's Chris but at these price levels details matter. The simple making of a cocktail when it cost nearly 20 dollars for instance. The Manhattan is a perfect cocktail for a steak house, why they bring it to you in a shaker and shake it before pooling the now over infused drink. Every good bartender knows that a pure Alcohol drink should be stirred in order to avoid bruising ( watering down) the drink. Details like this add up and left me disappointed only to receive the expected big check at the end. read more

It's often believed that a Ruth's Chris is a Ruth's Chris, no matter the location. That is still accurate to this location as well. While a few of their appetizers are a bit above my wife and I's pallet, I am hard pressed to find any other chain able to deliver and incomparable quality seasoned steak and dining experience. The service is great and the staff is friendly as can be. With a reservation, we're often seated within 10 minutes of our arrival, even in seemingly busy nights. read more

Omg! So I've been here more than a handful of times and just forget to check in. I am so happy that El Paso got this chain! I'm more than likely a hypocrite when writing this because I love love love the lobster mac! It's too die for and I could care less about anything else! Ha! I typically get the filet which I have never had a problem with. When they first opened they needed help with the wait staff on education of the meats, wine, etc but for the most part I can tell that the seasoned wait staff is here to stay. I love how EP is evolving and getting a little more upscale! It's nice to be part of the growth. Ruth Chris isn't my beloved STK but it sure does the trick while living in TX. Four Stars: I'll change it up to 5 stars once service is consistent! Other than that, food is amazing!!!! read more
