The food and the service was fantastic. It's a cute little restaurant problem is, the music is way too loud. And we weren't the only ones in there that wanted it quieter. They put us in a back room cause I asked for well lit and a quiet area cause I could hear how loud it was. Right about when our food was fixing to come out, somebody turned the sound way up. The couple that was eating with us in that room requested for it to be turned down. I know people like music but when it's a regular restaurant and not a bar club, you don't need it so loud. What can be better than a steak burger and all kinds of sides, including fried shrimp and sirloin bites baked potato that was cooked fabulously actually nothing except that they deliver. I'm having some work done at my house because it's up for sale and cosmetics in the backyard is everything so I had a couple of people working here today and it was hot AF in El Paso. These people were working like crazy. I made sure they had plenty of water to drink and iced tea but then they needed an Irishman too so I ordered a bunch of stuff for them. I had asked them what they wanted and it was delivered by lunchtime. The server told us they were out of all draft beer. Then she told us they were all out of bottled beer. Hmm... It's Sunday afternoon NFL football is on and they saying they got no beer...weird but okay. So ice tea it is.. the server comes back with drink and starts taking our food order. The server is taking my daughter's order when she knocks over this big glass of water it falls and splashes on everyone's legs and feet. Apparently drinks are a problem at salt grass lol. I ordered the steak burger (medium) and a Ceasar salad to go. The steak was undercooked and terrible chewy. There was a sauce that came with it that I just didn't personally like, but my eating has nothing to do with that, as that's just a personal preference and someone else may love it. The Ceasar had very little parmesan cheese and the Caesar Desai g just tasted off, and I get Cesar's regularly from restaurants so I don't feel this is a preference, it was just, sour maybe? Went to Saltgrass on Saturday 6pm, my daughter and I ordered prime rib, about 20 mins after taking our order, waitress said they ran out of prime rib. Then when our food came out and my son steak was over cooked and my wife steak ordered a 12oz steak not the 9oz and the Assistant Manager name Michael said is because she ask for medium well and the steak shrink. And you clearly can see it wasnt the same size of my son 12oz steak, than the sautéed mushrooms was soo salty. The Assistant Manager acted like there's nothing wrong. I've been there so many times and this got to be the worst experience I've ever had. I don't mind spending when the food is good but when its horrible, I feel like I wasted that money. read more

I have no complaints about the service, ambiance, or music, but the food was a complete failure. We ordered the Range Rattlers for an appetizer because they didn't have any bacon for the Bourbon glazed bacon. The shrimp was overcooked, the jalapeno was undercooked, and the jalapenos were so thick that the cheese didn't melt by the time the batter browned. For a restaurant in Texas that is originally out of Texas that "chargrills to perfection", why didn't they chargrill the jalapenos first to char the skins and add flavor? The rubbery shrimp flavor was lost to the jalapenos. Bacon would have been better, had they had any. Even brisket, but the tasteless batter brought nothing to the dish and was the same used for the chicken fried steak we ordered. The cheap cut of meat was too thick, grisly, and not tenderized. A good cfs is pounded thin, mechanically tenderized, and pressed into seasoned flour, which doesn't separate from the meat the way the batter did. The cfs and mashed potatoes were served on an oversized plate and the mashed potatoes were spread out thin to make the portions fit the plate, which caused the mashed potatoes to cool too quickly. The gravy was almost non-existent and we had to ask for extra. Everything was tasteless as far as seasonings go. And, as is typical for EP, they only serve Michelob Ultra Zero for non-alcoholic beer, which ranks as bad as Heineken and Corona NAs. There are much better offerings, like Athletic, but EP hasn't caught up with the non-alcoholic trend yet. Regardless of bad reviews, we decided to try it. We won't be going back. read more

First time at the Saltgrass steakhouse. I had a ten ounce ribeye. The steak was thin but cooked well with good flavor. The mashed potatoes were seasoned well with ample butter to make them creamy. The side salad was pretty typical but the dressing was homemade. The thing I was most impressed with was the service. Staff members communicated with each other and help deliver food, fill drinks, etc. they were also very friendly and well trained. Professional without being stuffy.
