Ruth Chris' classic - 4 OZ PETITE Fillet with lobster tail
    Jacqueline T.

This is a last minute dinner plan as we are driving back to Wailea. We are happy to book our early dinner. They greeted us and brought us to a nice booth table. I love the ambience of the restaurant, it has a luxury both cozy and classic feel. Made me want to stay at the booth and enjoy a wonderful dinner. Blaine was our server, he had great energy and was very engaged with us. His service was so good that we felt we had dinner at a friend's house. For the dinner, I ordered the Ruth Chris' classics which came with a soup/salad. I had the seafood gumbo. For the entree, I had the filet with lobster tail with cream of spinach. My boyfriend ordered the 8 oz center filet, which was the seasonal special. He had the butternut squash which was amazing. The food came very well prepared and good temperature, served sizzling hot. My filet was perfectly done with the right seasoning. For dessert, we had the chocolate sin cake which was really sinful I love the dinner experience from the service, ambience, and the food. The Wailea one is particularly outstanding.

During our stay at the Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, we had the pleasure of dining at Ruth's Chris Steak House, just a short 5-minute walk from the hotel. It was the perfect spot for a special celebration, as we were marking our baby moon and my dad's 40th work anniversary. We took advantage of their early dining prix fixe menu (4-6 pm), which is an incredible deal considering the quality and portion sizes. For $80 you get a 6 oz filet paired with lobster, or for $70 the 6 oz filet with shrimp. Each meal includes: A fresh house salad (all dressings are homemade - delicious!) Choice of side: rice (fun fact - Maui is the only Ruth's Chris to offer this option), mashed potatoes, or creamed spinach Dessert: your pick of ice cream, sorbet, or bread pudding Among our group, three of us had the filet with lobster and one chose the filet with shrimp, so we were able to sample it all. Everything was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our server, Matt V, was phenomenal. He was personable, attentive, and really elevated the experience. He read the room perfectly, treated us with warmth, and went the extra mile knowing we were celebrating special occasions. His timing, professionalism, and hospitality truly made the evening memorable. Although we brought our own wine and paid corkage, Ruth's Chris has an impressive wine list. The staff clearly has strong wine knowledge, and we noticed their curated selection and beautifully displayed cellar upon entry. We loved the wine quotes! If we hadn't brought our own, we'd have been very happy ordering from their list. We ended the night with a dramatic and fun dessert - strawberries flambé with vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect sweet (and slightly fiery) finale to a wonderful evening. The strawberries were a special added treat for our celebration - fun wow we weren't expecting! The combination of phenomenal service, great food, and unbeatable value for the early prix fixe menu makes this Ruth's Chris location a must-visit in Wailea. Whether you're celebrating or just looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience, I would 10/10 recommend.

Always like Ruth Chris, the butter sizzle on their steaks are always a welcome sight. Had the Gumbo to begin with, it was just okay but not up to NOLA name B's or most other good gumbos, tasted bland and lacked flavor with mostly vegetables. Need some pop! Now the lobster filet special was special, well done as you would expect. Wind prices were absurd, who would pay for a Rombauer Chardonnay you can get at Safeway for $32 and get charged $166! Wow that's stupid pricing. Service was good, all were super nice as was the manager!

Another wonderful experience at this Ruth's Chris location. We were here last year and had the opportunity to return this year. We did a walk in and were seated promptly. We were served by Matt. Matt is beyond amazing at what he does. He is always walking around and checking in with every table he's serving. He also served us last year and I recall it being a great visit. We shared crab cakes, a steak, lobster tail and mashed potatoes. It was the perfect end of the day meal. The ambiance was casual. Lots of happy people around chatting. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I've never had a bad steak here! We will be returning!

Our last night in Hawaii was truly unforgettable, thanks to the incredible dining experience at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Wailea. From the moment we walked in, everything--from the service to the food to the ambiance--exceeded our expectations. Reservations & Seating: A few things to note before dining here: reservations are highly recommended, especially if you prefer a booth. Walk-ins are usually seated at standard tables with chairs, as booths are reserved for guests who book in advance. Also, while the steaks are the star of the menu, they do not come with sides unless you order a combo meal. Otherwise, you'll need to select your sides separately, which is well worth it considering the quality of the dishes. Early Bird Special: We arrived early and inquired about their Early Bird Special, which offers a discounted price on select menu items between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM. It was a great deal, so we decided to take advantage of it. Our Meal: For our entrées, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with garlic mashed potatoes, while my wife chose the steak and shrimp combo, which also came with garlic mashed potatoes and a dessert. For her dessert, she picked the Lilikoi (passion fruit) sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. Every bite of our dinner was absolutely delicious--the flavors were rich, the portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. My sea bass was perfectly cooked, buttery, and flaky, while my wife's steak was exactly what you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse: tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Service & Atmosphere: The service was exceptional from start to finish. The host greeted us warmly, and each staff member--from the server who brought our water to the one who took our order--was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive, which elevated the entire experience. The ambiance at Ruth's Chris was elegant yet relaxed, with dim lighting that created an intimate and cozy atmosphere. When we first arrived, the window shades were down to block the bright afternoon sun, but as the evening progressed and the sun set, the shades were raised to reveal a breathtaking view of the night sky. It was a beautiful touch that added to the overall charm of the restaurant. Final Thoughts: What can I say about Ruth's Chris Steak House? Their steak is everything you could dream of--a cut above what you'd find at a regular restaurant that doesn't specialize in steak. If I ever return to Maui, I would definitely dine here again, especially for a special occasion or a night out with family. But for now, I'll have to satisfy my steak cravings at the Ruth's Chris location back home. Thank you, Ruth's Chris Steak House, for an amazing evening filled with incredible food, top-notch service, and an unforgettable dining experience!

I go to steak houses for the sides. I'm a sides gal through and through. At Ruth's Chris, though, I'm always here for a ribeye with blue cheese crust! I've been to a few other Ruth's Chris steakhouses, but the Maui location was a first for me. The service was great; Mike was an attentive waiter, so no complaints there. The house manager checked on us once. Mike's server assistant was also attentive. We ordered the chopped salad to split, we split a rib eye with blue cheese crust, and we ordered potatoes au gratin and mac and cheese. The steak was excellent! Just as I remembered. Unfortunately, the Maui location does not have the shoestring French fries (they have steamed white rice), so we were unable to order those. The au gratin and mac and cheese were okay. That was a bit disappointing. The potatoes were cubbed and not scalloped, but it was the over all flavor that was lacking. Same for the mac and cheese. This is the reason for the three stars. Had the sides been a tad better, I would have given a solid four stars. The dining room room is a smaller setting, but it had great lighting. It's Maui, so don't worry about dressing up. I've been to other locations that denied folks entry for "street clothes" like shorts, t-shirts, and baseball caps. Not the case here. Great experience overall.

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is a wonderful restaurant tucked away in the back of the Wailea Shopping Center. You can enjoy some relaxing music before heading in for a delicious meal. Although we didn't have a reservation, we were fortunate to find a spot right away and were seated promptly. They offer early bird specials between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m., so I made it just in time--only a few minutes before the steak special ended! I ordered the steak with shrimp, which came with a salad and dessert. It's such a great deal if the timing works out for you. All their dinners are Al La Carte, but this deal comes with a side so I did the garlic mashed potatoes and they were delicious . Our server, Jared, was fantastic--very attentive and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness made the experience even better. We were seated near the window, and it turned out to be the perfect time to enjoy the sunset. It was truly a memorable evening.

Caught happy hour at the bar. Have eaten beef 4 nights in a row. So decided to just do HH appetizers at the bar. Amazing shrimp, calamari, ravioli, and tuna. And drink specials. Nick and Amanda at the bar rocked it out. We will be back.

Outstanding food! 6oz filet with lobster for their early bird special is $75 and comes with a choice of house salad or ceasar salad, one side (cream spinach, Louisiana gumbo or garlic mashed potatoes) plus dessert! Brian is an outstanding server, highly recommend! Ambiance is quiet and clean with a beautiful view of the Hawaiian flowers

We celebrated a friend's birthday on Sunday for dinner and had such great service. The steak and lobster combo with a choice of side and dessert was delicious and reasonably priced. Ambiance was cozy. Will be back again!

Amazing top tier customer service. The food was delicious, especially the perfectly prepared steak, and the attentive staff provided top-tier service. Yummy crab cakes and lobster Mac & cheese. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience!

We love Ruth Chris and this was a good one! Sometimes you can get a not so great location but this one is great! We had our baby with us and they were very welcoming! Pricing is good for Maui and the service was great. We were happy with our meal and would go back!

Wow! Definitely one of the best steakhouses I've experienced. We celebrated our 20th Anniversary here and they treated us like royalty. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.

    Ruth Chris prix fixe menu?

Yes but only certain times a year and the early bird reservations only. To make sure call them in Wailea

What time does the early bird special hours are?

    I believe it's 4-6

Does this location have happy hour?

    Yes!!!! And it's great:)

Do they still offer the early bird special by chance?

Yes, Signature Prix Fixe menu is available from 4:30-6pm. Prices went up slightly but its still a good deal. You can upgrade your appetizer or dessert for $5 more.

What's the dress code for this place? For men shorts, shirts and sandals ok? TIA?

I saw gentleman wearing dress shorts/ polos/ Hawaiian shirts. Like Tommy Bahama style.

Do they have crab legs at this location???🤞🏼 Wailea mall location?

You get a few small crab legs in the seafood tower.

Does this location overlook the coast line? as in a beach/ocean view from the dining area? love ruth's christ here in california and i'm planning a trip to maui in three weeks, want to make sure there's a view!

    Unfortunately it does not.

However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.

Because we went on the very last Sunday in June, it was real busy with visitors staying at the hotel and locals alike taking advantage of this Summer deal so we expected it. We got maybe 2-3 plates each. My cousin took advantage of the proteins first. He went straight to get the Ko Rosemary Crusted Prime Rib with the Horseradish and Au Jus which was delicious and our top favorite. He wasn't a big fan of the Mochiko Chicken, he said it was a bit dry. I started off with the selection of appetizers like the Ulu & Potato Mac Salad, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Waipoli Baby Greens with Papaya Seed Dressing and Poi! I loved it all. I was pretty naive and put the scrambled eggs and Braised Short Ribs on my plate but didn't realize it was a Loco Moco station lol! That was a fail but the Braised Short Ribs was so tender and is a must if you go. Make sure you make yourself a Loco Moco lol! Other favorites was the Lavender Honey Crispy Shrimp (because there was so many people I got the bottom of the bowl but they refilled it right after), Pork Shumai with Mustard Sauce, and Longanisa (Filipino Sausage with Garlic and Vinegar) with Onions. My coworker told me his stomach got upset from the Ahi a few months ago so I kinda stayed away from the Seared Ahi station (and I love ahi) except for the Vegetable and California Rolls and the Shumai. I took one Kimchee Shrimp just to try but the shrimp didn't taste the best sadly. I was also looking forward to the Pancakes station since I read there's Banana Pancakes and Chantilly Sauce! I do love me some Chantilly but it was mini Regular Pancakes with Strawberry, Lilikoi (Passion Fruit) Butter, and Syrup. I was a bit disappointed but the desserts didn't disappoint and was a hit. Our favorites were the Guava Chiffon Cake which was light and creamy, Hokkaido Cheese Tart, Calamansi Tartelettes and also the Paniolo Banana Rum Cake. I love small desserts-less waste and definitely leaving you satisfied when done right! Overall it was delicious- some hits and a few misses but we both understood it was the last Brunch deal day and had a relaxing Pool day afterwards. We both work in Customer Service/Hospitality and we appreciated the Staff working hard and being so welcoming and friendly, full of aloha.

We also ordered the B&B ahi which was also delicious and fresh and ever so slightly seared. Both are worth the trip and the money. From there we started to feel like second class citizens. Hubs ordered the lamb while I had mahi mahi tacos (I didn't have a huge appetite). I would not order the tacos again. Table next to us raved about them and although the tortilla and the fish were fresh, the 'blackened' seasoning did me in. Overkill on a nicely cooked piece of fish - hard pass. Lamb, although cooked properly, (and I thought interestingly presented but) hubs is a meat guy and felt all the additions - sauce, relish, goat cheese - was overkill. Have to also say he didn't enjoy the waiter taking his knife to hand prepare a bite the way he thought it should be eaten. We barely saw him after that which further soured the experience. He vanished after the big ticket part of the meal (the 82$ lamb) and mentioned a comped panna cotta for our anniversary after we'd ordered a paid desert. Oops we owe you that next time (but you'll take our money today) Our food runner was great! Super upbeat, always with a smile. Bar area was relatively quiet until it wasn't. We wouldn't spend $350 this way again but would sit at the bar for sashimi and bounce.
