2 different types of reviews Food: Brunch today. Bacon was all fried fat. Biscuits were burnt on the bottom but good except for that. Always at least 45 min wait. Management: Horrible in my opinion. A child threw a screaming tantrum for an hour- LITERALLY! Parents did nothing. 10 adults, 2 kids. Asked the Mgr if he could plz do something. (This is after 1/2 straight!) He got mad at us! Said we were kids once! How out of line we were. It was a baby! We tried to explain not mad at the baby. As a manager he is allowing 1 table to destroy the meals of the whole restaurant. We could not even have a conversation. Not fair...couldn't ONE OF THEM step out til toddler could BEHAVE. WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE! (We had finished & this was our finishing statement...) Gabriella was our waitress tonight. We came in 3 minutes before closing time. They welcomed us as if they had just opened. I ordered the carne adovada plate with potatoes and refried beans Eric order was beef enchiladas with green chili Papas and refried beans. Both plates came with sopapillas. Gabriella was very attentive and had a wonderful personality in spite of how late it was. If you haven't tried this place out give it a try. We had tried this place right after they first opened and were not impressed but, I guess we just needed to give him a second try and leave for sure will be back. read more

I grew up going to the Rutilillo's in Belen so when they first opened the Los Lunas store, I wasn't interested. But OMG -- we had a great experience! The food was exceptional and so was the service. I can't get enough of their amazing New Mexican cuisine! I don't have one complaint! Salsa=delicious with the right amount of spice. Sopapilla=perfect scrumptious FREE dessert. read more

I was apprehensive due to a disappointment at the last restaurant I tried. So I went for exactly the two dishes I wanted, one as a backup. I ordered the chile relleno a la carte, as well as the bean stuffed sopapilla. Knowing what I know now, I would have just ordered the relleno....maybe 5 of them! It was stuffed with pepper jack cheese, not cheddar (thank goodness!). It was coated and fried in a crunchy batter. Though it was not the best relleno I've ever had (mom still wins!), it was delicious! I had red and green chile on the side so that I could properly taste the relleno and also try both chiles. I mainly ate the relleno without sauce. I really liked the red sauce. The green sauce was pretty good. (Nellie's in Las Cruces has ruined me for green chile. It's simply the best ever!!) The stuffed sopapilla was average. The beans were extra thick and a bit salty. Would have been better smothered in red chile. My partner got the supreme burrito and almost freaked out to see pieces of onion in the beef. Turns out it was potato and added nicely to the dish. The sopapillas were perfect! I've been to Los Lunas several times and when I'm looking for classic Mexican food with that unique New Mexican twist I almost always gravitate towards Teofilos. Unfortunately they are closed on Mondays so I had to go looking elsewhere to satisfy my craving before leaving town. Rutilio's it was. I'm glad I gave this place a chance. It was really good! The complimentary chips and salsa were excellent. I love a great salsa. While Teofilos has the best atmosphere, better food, and remains the "must go to" restaurant in Los Lunas in my opinion, this place was definitely worth a visit. I would definitely come back. I had the two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Everything tasted great, especially the red sauce. You can order your enchiladas "red" or "green" or if you want to sample each, order them "Christmas" and you can try both. Personally for me I always prefer the red. Sopapillas were great. A perfect conclusion to a good dinner! The staff was friendly and the food was great. Look forward to returning someday.. read more

I had been to Rutillio's several times it was okay. On my last visit, I ordered a breakfast plate that included toast. My meal arrived without the toast, the waitress said that it would be delayed. It was delayed, I had all but finished my meal. I asked why she said they had only one toaster working. I asked why this hadn't been mentioned when I ordered. She indicated that I should talk to the manager who was one of the family members who owns the restaurant. So I asked to talk to him. He kept me waiting and when I described the situation, I was basically told that if I didn't like it I didn't have to go back. Well, I haven't been back. If this is his attitude, he needs to go out of business. read more

My friend and I were on our way back from Albuquerque and wanted to look around Los Lunas and we drove all through town looking for a local restaurant for breakfast. We were hungry and couldn't have been more satisfied afterwards. Rose was our waitress and she was the bomb! She was funny, caring and knew her job through and through. The regulars adored her and she knew what they wanted and how they wanted it. It showed and the loyalty was there for her. My friend had the heuvos rancheros and I had the breakfast enchilada and we both had sopapilla's for dessert. We both ate every last bit on our plate and it was so very good and filling. I could have eaten more just for the flavor, texture and atmosphere. The service was beyond great and so was the food! You have to drive through the new part of Los Lunas to get to the older part, but it is definitely worth the drive. read more
