After trying my partners asada fries from here (which were delicious) we decided to stop by for lunch since we were in the area. Wow, are these burritos massive. I pretty much ate it in halves because it's such a filling burrito. It's loaded with carne asada, fries, crema, avocado and chile de árbol. I def wanna come back to try their vegan options. The customer service was super friendly and prompt. Loved the design of the shop with it being a big open space w some seating outside. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Flavors are bland. They gave a lot, but cost a lot. They should offer 1/2 as much for 1/2 the price and that would help, but add some spices so the food has flavor. read more

I really wanted to like this place, craving a good Cali style burrito. This was delicious but a little short of Cali style. The workers were very friendly and attentive! Answered questions and checked in with us. The shop was great! Open and inviting. The drinks were okay. Good but too sweet and mixed drinks. No biggie. Now the burrito....it was huge! When I say huge - HUGE!! I think I may have liked the beef better than chicken, but felt it was too many fries. In Cali we also put beans and cream and cilantro and onions. Note upon reading more reviews "Cali" does not stand for California, it's a Colombian style. So s lot of what I said not correct, however it does have that flavor of a street fish taco. As someone who moved here from So Cal, it's been a challenge to find fish burritos or tacos that live up to the Baja style of Rubio's or Wahoo (note Denver area has Wahoo's). So I was interested when the place was called Cali burrito. Even thought the term Cali is not something I like (don't get me started on Frisco for San Francisco), I was intrigued. Got order to go, and I got the fish burrito. It really had a lot of the flavors and texture of what I really miss from So Cal. They also have vegetarian as well as vegan options. Food was great got the bacon and egg I'm little picky so i was happy that they let me modify my food little. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Sorry this is a fast review. If I had time, I would completely say so many good things. The burritos are so fat and ridiculously big. The tacos are amazingly done. I really like the fact that they make them right in front of you, so that you can see what they're doing, and what goes in it. Place was clean and very cute. I wish I'd had the time to sit and enjoy. Cali burrito has a really cool industrial / earthy vibe when you get in. I like what they did with the decor and overall presentation of things. The cashier was friendly, smiled and described the menu in detail. We didn't like their most popular item the asada burrito but we LOVED their vegan fries! Honestly, these vegan fries are probably tied for 1st place with only one other loaded fry spot in Albuquerque, it's that good! They add a few sauces so it's nice and flavorful, I counted at least 3-4 sauces including a habanero sauce to give it a little kick. The best part about this has to be the plant based meat. I know it sounds weird because I'm usually more of a meat eater, but this was soft, tasted fatty and tender and just like high quality meat would! Originally drawn into this restaurant because of the name, the California born and bred girl that I am, I was very quick to question the name "Cali Burrito"... Because neither Baja California or any other California style burritos, outside of a breakfast burrito, typically include French fries... Even breakfast burritos include hashbrowns or homefries, not french fries. And my interest was originally sparked because of the name; I anticipated a good ole' California street corner or taco truck style delight! Located off of Coors, between Montano and Eagle Ranch from the moment I arrived I was wow'd. Cali Burrito is located on the right hand corner, just as you enter the plaza down the way from Einstein Bagels, Hannah & Nates, and Weck's. The restaurant signage is great and I noticed several tables on an outside patio which is also a nice option on a sunny day! When I pulled in, it was around 11AM and the parking lot was PACKED... and quite scarce. This took me by surprise because it was not yet lunch rush and breakfast was well over... So if it was AM/PM rush, I would be very unhappy trying to park a large truck. The spots were also on the smaller side but I managed to locate parking and found my way inside! And of course, when I made it to the counter and before ordering, I asked where the name originated from. Boy was I surprised! I learned that this family owned business derived from CALI, COLUMBIA not California; a popular misconception amongst ABQ natives and guests. After learning that, I removed all of my expectations on how this burrito should taste and was completely and excited to try their Cali, Columbian style burrito! I ordered a little bit of everything for my son and I to try. We ordered the Chicken Burrito, Asada Burrito, nachos and 3-taco plate! Each and every entrée was a masterpiece, made fresh by Chef Ricardo. Holy Burrito! Absolute flavor explosion in every bite! I am still trying to determine what exactly was in the burritos and while the ingredients are still a mystery, the protein portion in each was plentiful and PERFECTLY seasoned. Also beyond impressed by the hand-cut fries that are fried and seasoned to perfection, and included in the burritos! It is obvious that they go thru a TON of fries each day and it felt like déjà vu and something I'd recently seen at In & Out! While I was only able to eat 1/3 of my burrito, my 26-year old son devoured an entire burrito! Excited to finish my burrito for dinner! 5 stars for service, price, portion and taste! Melissa, Chef Ricardo's sister was the cashier that took our order. She is super informative, kind and patient in answering all of my questions. I learned that they opened in December, only serve black beans, do not serve rice, that it is a family owned business from Cali, Columbia, that they do deliver and take call in and online orders! Parking was the only downside I found about this place but it certainly wasn't impactful enough to take away stars. My only suggestion is to play some classic Rumba or Salsa music to go with the Cali theme! In final, this is a must try! While it was not the California style burrito I initially anticipated, everything was AMAZING! The portions are HUGE, the prices are VERY reasonable, the restaurant was very clean with indoor and outdoor seating options and the service was great! I will be back soon! read more

Food is good, service was snappy. The only complaint I have is if you're going to charge a premium for food (12-13 bucks for a burrito) , at least offer 2-3 sides of salsa for free instead of charging 50 cents for one single side of salsa. read more

Heard some good things about this spot and decided to dip in for a bite. Got the fish burrito and salchipapas (cheese fries with pineapple chili mayo sauce and cut up fried hot dogs). My friend got a carne asada burrito and a fish taco. Loved the fish burrito and the spicy cabbage sauce in it (yumm)! The salchipapas were good but it was just too much going on and will have to see if they can not add the hot dogs on my next pass. I grabbed a bite of the asada burrito and it was delicious. The meat was so tender and the sauce was tasty with fries added in the burrito. I only took one bite but my friend devoured it. The fish taco came plain with some veggies and jalapeños in it and really needed some sauce. After taking a bite we asked if it comes with sauce and the guy at the front said no but try some red sauce on it and gave a small container of the sauce they put on their al pastor. Not a good match. Overall the staff was great, food yummy and will have to come back and try some of the other menu items. read more

I recently stopped at Cali burrito and enjoyed their specialty, the Carne Asada burrito. Man, it is huge! They stuff the large tortilla with plenty of beef, vegetables, French fries, and cheese. They have a sauce in the burrito which has nice flavor, but is in no way spicy. Just a note: Because of "Cali", lots of people think these are California beach burritos. I read a few reviews where people are losing their minds because California burritos don't have French fries. Turns out these are Colombian style burritos. The flavor profile is not a typical Nee Mexican taste. It's good, it's just different. I like different, so Ie joyed the visit. Plus, the lady running the register was professional, kind, and funny. I ordered this on Prime for free delivery through GrubHub. My first time doing this. And this is my first time eating at Cali Burrito. I ordered the California chicken burrito. It is the one with fries inside. It showed up delivered in a brown lunch sack that was stapled shot with the receipt. That's the way they all should do it stapled shut. The burrito is pretty huge so I weighed it. It was 1.12 lb. The smell was awesome I couldn't wait to eat it. I am a picky eater so I was kind of worried. I can tell you this it was all white meat chicken breast and some of the best ingredients I have tasted in a long time. I wish I would have went there a long time ago. Can't wait to try the carne asada, I just hope it is as good as the chicken was because I'm, like I said very picky. I do think for the price, they should throw in some salsa without a charge. The burritos are very big, but filled with French fries. I didn't intend on buying a big potato. Initially the taste was spot on.

Kevin took our order and was very nice. He had great customer service and answered all of our questions. Now there was another employee.....green hair with facial piercing had a bad attitude as we walked in while two more costumers walked in behind us. However, I'll give her that it was at the end of the night and I'm sure she was tired, but she thought she was hiding enough behind the steel lift. She mumbled "ugggggh, f*ck" and we made eye contacts and she quickly fixed her attitude, but still was throwing herself around. Other than that, the food was good and service was fast! read more
