The service is very very good, the hospitality is outstanding. The food would probably be really good if they served it actually hot. The last 3 times we have gone there, our food has been luke warm. I've been passing by this place for years and it's always packed. It was no different this morning but I was determined to finally eat here. This restaurant is owned by the same people who own Rutilios here in Los Lunas. There are several similarities between the two restaurants. The CFS here is a little smaller but not much smaller. It is still as large as a pancake and delicious. The eggs were scrambled and fluffy. The hash browns were delicious. I also had a pancake and that was very good. Now I know why this place is always so packed when I pass by, it's almost exactly like Rutilios, which is my favorite restaurant in Los Lunas. You can't go wrong here. The service was good. They were short-handed, so we didn't expect much. Poor server brought me a cup of water with a long hair in it. Ewww. So gross, but not the end of the world. The food was good. The served rolled enchiladas which I wasn't expecting for a true New Mexican restaurant. That was disappointing. I was glad there was some flavor to the green chile. I need a little kick. The ambiance doesn't really have a wow factor at all. They seated us in the back which is a room with a television and your average cheap diner tables. They don't serve chips and salsa, so maybe that's part of what brought the whole feel down a notch. Standard New Mexican restaurant with a smaller than normal menu for breakfast and lunch items. Appears they close for dinner but that confused me since they do serve some alcohol. I'm guessing the room I saw up front was the bar? When entering the parking lot from the road, don't miss the entrance. If you try to enter though the gas station, the parking lot is blocked so you will have to turn around somehow. Overall the food was good. Chips and salsa are part of lunch. They were ok. We ate at Tj's today. I had huevos rancheros, Christmas (red/green) both chile's were HOT, but very flavorful. Eric had 2 eggs, hasbrowns, and bacon. My plate came with a tortilla (store bought) and his choice was a sopapilla. The only thing that could've made it better is Homemade Tortillas. read more

I'll be honest I was quite impressed with this place. We came like 30 minutes before closing (to be fair we didn't know it was closing time) and we didn't get seated promptly. Being hungry and ready to eat the first meal of the day, we sat ourselves at an empty table since it seemed like a good thing to do since they had seen us and hadn't seated us yet. I sat down and waited for a bit and the lady who bussed the tables informed me they would be closing soon. I said okay that's fine. Since we had to get back to town, we planned on eat quickly and not linger. We promptly placed our order and got our food rather quickly. I will say the restaurant has two great things, the food was pretty delicious and our waitress was very polite and kept our beverages filled.. My family was rather impressed with the burrito and Navajo taco, and they were super impressed with the chile. My tacos were pretty tasty, and overall I was super impressed! I would gladly eat at this place again! However, next time I will get there a lot earlier in the day. I understand that people want to get home, but be flexible with customers. read more

TJs food use to be so good and enjoyable..Now it has new owners.. So sad..Their food is far from delicious.. The pancakes were cold and rubbery, the oatmeal didn't taste right, the red chils pork was dry, we ordered eggs over medium, they were cooked over hard. One female older lady, (wait staff) was very very rude, she told me she didn't care what I thought, people can cone and eat what they want, she didn't care..and had no concern how we felt about our breakfast. The original Tjs was always full of customers, When we drove up we weren't sure if they were open for business. We were charged over 74.00 for simple breakfast for 4. Great place to have a family meal! It was so "homestyle" which is exactly what I miss! We were quickly seated by a young woman, which is the norm for these small town family owned places. As I grazed through the restaurant, I noticed the abundance of cowboy hats! I say to myself "I'm home"! This is a hard one to give a good review on. To start the first younger girl that took our drink order just seemed not to care to much. Our drinks were wrong. However the waiter was super polite and corrected the issue. Now on to the food it was good and average. I had chicken fried steak and eggs. Breakfast is served all day here, and they have your typical New Mexican fare. Tacos for breakfast? You can get those too. The entire menu seems to be available all day long. I had a breakfast burrito with bacon, smothered in red. The chile was flavorful and spicy, but not too hot. The bacon inside was crispy and tasty (this is inportant, no one likes floppy bacon in their burrito). Service was really quick, especially considering how busy they were. Poor poor service manager I'm guessing was yelling at the waitresses/waiters walking while she was around like a maniac. I was embarrassed for them. It took so long to get our food and was OVER CHARGED!! Menus we were given are not the same prices they charged us for we spent $121 for 7 people definitely was not worth that amount. Horrible customer service at TJ's since Maria is the new owner. The food is barely what you would consider edible and lacks in flavor of authentic Chile in there food. Prices are much higher and smaller positions. I've had over heard the owner arguing of salsa and chips with a customer that was told by the original waitress who took the order they were free with their order. Maria definitely lacks customer service skills when issues arise with her customers due to her workers making mistakes and acting like the customer is the problem. I really miss the original owner's food and service was better! I will never go back to the restaurant and I don't recommend it to others!! Very rude owner and workers. For 13 years, this was my favorite restaurant in Los Lunas. And then, something changed. We weren't sure what or why but all of a sudden the restaurant was empty when we walked in.
