Although I gasped at the selection of international food items, and my reason for going *cololmbian foods* I was disappointed at finding that my favorite chocolate in the world was stale and white. The expiration was 2023, but I imagine the heat and improper storage conditions is what must have made them go bad. I've grown up with these chocolates and I can tell how fresh they are by the smell alone. Knowing they had gone bad, I still went ahead and took a bite and the taste was as disappointing as I imagined they would be. They were only 3.99 for a pack so I decided to let it go. Now, had it been the usual 9$ I pay in New York, then I would have rushed back in there for my money. My suggestion to the business, since you obviously can't open and check every single chocolate, open the packs, and sell them individually for 25 or 50 cents a piece. Although you might lose a couple of dollars per pack, @25cents, ($1.49) or make an extra dollar @ 50c it sure beats the bad review and bad feeling for the customer who wasted $4 for stale chocolate. Considering here in Texas, that's half of someone's a hourly wage. Anyway, as far as the business, they have a good selection of Indian spices, some Peruvian spices, some Colombian candy/ which at this point I wouldn't trust, frozen Colombian and Indian foods. It's a good place to visit if you miss wherever you're from, or just want to expand your pallets. read more

A bit disappointed with last few visits. I had special ordered some snacks. They carry similar snacks from same company, but I wanted something they didn't have. They said, sure, we'll order, and call you when they come in. After a couple of weeks they hadn't called, so we did. They said that there was no order. I mean, really?... c'mon. I will probably still go there for frozen foods, but getting snacks there is pretty much a miss. I have a better store I go to for snacks, albeit, it is further away... but they have what I want and then some. read more

Sadly the only place in El Paso for Indian groceries. Update: Removed 2 stars from my previous review as it turned out some of the food products I purchased from that store were way past their expiry date. Update April 2022: Health & welfare department should pay them a visit. Still keep products past their expiration date. Also check your bill always because you may find an item or 2 on there that you didn't buy. read more

I've been to Indian groceries in many southern US cities and this is by far my favorite. I have never seen such a vast variety of items in any other and it even has a cozy little restaurant tucked to the side and an area with a few clothing items, textiles and trinkets. They have a large selection of Goya/Mexican food items too, for those of us who like to mix it up a bit. Credit cards accepted for totals over $5. Lottery tickets here too. :) Easy to find in a little shopping center right on the east side of Mesa. read more

The owners of this place are super nice people. They keep their inventory stocked well with diverse products from India, the Middle East, and Latin america. Where else can you go and find several brands of ghee and coconut oil for a fraction of what you'd pay at Sprouts? They also have a cafe inside that serves up awesome samosas, aloo tiki, and chai! read more

Actually, this place is called RV International Grocery, a little place off of Mesa, which makes it extremely convenient to get to. I was skeptical of this place after reading the other yelper's review, but then I walked in and instantly felt much better. It carries a good variety of Indian and Asian foods (think Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese variety. Not Korean or Japanese). They have a freezer full of naans and various Indian microwaveable dinners in the back. They even have a section with fresh ginger, cilantro, potatoes and other vegetables. While I was in there, they were changing out the older vegetables for the fresh new ones. Last time I was there, the vegetables were fresh - 5 stars for freshness. I bought a huge bag of naans and it was only about $3.50. They also have a tiny restaurant section which was intended for chaat (hot Indian snacks) and the menu is pretty reasonably priced. Unfortunately, since no one knows about it, it is not being used at all. I will have to try it out one of these days and report back. The best part? They take all kinds of credit cards, including American Express (I just can't stand it when places refuse my lovely blue card). Definitely check this place out for all things Indian. read more

Though I will continue to patronize this establishment, I am very disappointed in the last experience I had here. I needed to pick up 3 containers of a spice spice blend for a cooking project and was happy to find them in stock and readily available. Unfortunately, they had been mispriced before putting being put on the shelves. Rather than honoring the $1.99 price marked on the containers, they insisted on charging $3.99 which is the price that the system brings up instead. No I understand that a small individually owned business must maintain their profit margin, if your employees cannot price things correctly on the shelf, you have a responsibility to honor the price is that the customer's shop with. Charging double the marked price is just bad business. read more

No large but large enough to have what you want. Clean, nice appearing. The spice selection could be larger but they will probably have what you want. The check out lady was courteous and efficient. In a shopping center and watch carefully for the turn. Name is now RV International Grocery but same phone #. Will be back because food like this is hard to buy here. This is a wonderful family-owned business that is the only place in town to get many South Asian foods. This shop has of course basmati and jasmine rice, frozen Indian foods, all the spices you need to season your meals, cardamom pods (try getting those at Albertsons of Big 8), , paneer, and everything else to make a delicious south Asian foods. Whe I"ve been there, they even had betel nut, leaf and lime. And the owner even gave me tips on preparing and serving a full, authentic Indian meal, from appetizers to afters which I made for Christmas. read more

I've had nothing but positive experiences at this store. I always go there to buy my henna (I use it to color my hair) and the couple who runs the shop are extremely helpful. When I lived out of town and couldn't find henna, they offered to have it shipped to me. When I was looking for a particular kind of tea and couldn't find it in their store, they gave me directions to other specialty stores in town and even offered to call for me. They have also now opened kind of a small cafe in the back. I haven't tried it yet but it always smells good. read more

Great store! Lots of delicious frozen Middle Eastern foods for quick dinners. Also, the only place on the west side to find Goya products.

So much stuff! I was a more than a bit hesitant right when I walked in because the first items I saw were in a language I am not familiar with. But then we picked up jars, bottles and packages and on some of them, in fine print, there are English translations. There are packets of herbs, jars of herbs, herbal remedies, cooking spices of all kinds! Lots of Goya products as well. Lots of henna powders and my absolute favorite Mysore sandalwood soap! They have a bit of produce, some hookah stuff, Turkish coffee pots. Also incense and some small statues and some furniture. The only reason they are missing a star: not very welcoming. The two older adults didn't smile or say a word. The young man behind the counter was polite at least. I made eye contact with the woman and smiled and got nothing. Maybe they were tired. I loved this store. Every week, my friends and I cook an authentic meal from a different country to try out just to spice things up. I was obviously clueless when I walked in and they managed to round up everything on my list for me and gave me tips on how to use the different ingredients. I haven't had such great customer service in at least 2 decades when it comes to grocers. The spices were extremely reasonably priced compared to shopping at Jerusalem's so I'm sure I'll be checking out this store first from now on. She even kicked me down with Chilly's from her own pantry since I only needed 3 for my recipe. I couldn't resist picking up some Indian "souvenirs" on my way out too. For it's size, it is full of neat and interesting finds and you can't beat the prices! read more
