The folks were friendly enough. I came here as I was going to purchase a trailer and needed a brake controller. They gave me a few options. The staff were friendly and seemed knowledgable and had the parts on hand. Unfortunately, when I looked into it further, they charged me two times what I could've paid on Amazon, which was incredibly disappointing. I also ask if the harness that was plug and play for my truck was in there or if I could purchase it. They told me everything was included. What was included was the wiring to splice into a wiring harness, not the actual plug my truck was already wired with and I knew existed. I then had to order the "plug and play" harness and wait several more days. Overall, the staff was friendly. There's a wide selection of trailer supplies. I drove out to their location from Vista to purchase a very specific switch that raises The roof of my pop-up tent camper. It turned out not to be the correct switch that he thought would work. It didn't. When I called him, The owner refunded my money in the hopes that I would return the switch to him, which I did, by mail. That was nice of him. read more

Went over to RV Trailer Supply on the recommendation of La Mesa RV because I needed to replace the vent covers on my trailer (and LM RV offered that they didn't have retail sales and would have to order; thanks to them for hooking me up). Walked in, vents in hand and asked for help at the counter. Guy takes one look goes over and grabs the 3 new cover I'll need, explains how to put them on and I'm in and out in 10 minutes. The inventory here is not bad. If you have any "technical" questions about any of the products they have, don't expect much. The two times I've been here, basic questions are often met with "that's too technical for me." So, despite working at an RV Trailer Supply business, I would set your expectations low on getting good quality advice or recommendations on what to use for your various applications and projects. Two different trips and both felt like I was a slight inconvenience, even when the store was completely empty. Like a rushed feeling, instead of someone that's there for the customer. I would say that this place does have above average number of products versus other stores like this in the county. read more

On Saturday September 10th at 3:50 PM I took a part back to RV Trailer Supplies in El Cajon on Broadway. There were several different varieties that I could have chosen from but the manager had such a bad attitude about me bringing a part back for exchange that he just decided to say no we have nothing that will work for that, that's it, that's the only thing we have. He told his workers to just give my money back to me and that's all. Then he walked away with disgust on his face. I would sell my motor home if he was the only person that I could deal with. RV Trailer Supply does NOT stand by their products. I bought a sewer hose on 10/15/22 and it started leaking from a small tear only 2 weeks later. I only used it twice. Went back with my receipt and they refused to exchange it or refund. They thought they were going above and beyond by giving me the phone number of the manufacturer. I recently moved to El Cajon and have bought quite a few things there even though their prices are higher than the box stores or Amazon. I believe in shopping local whenever possible but this is why small business is being overtaken by Amazon. If you are going to have high prices your customer service better be A+ or you will go out of business. They lost a customer today. read more

Customer service was not good starting at front door. Help desk at second desk. Was not very friendly. I felt the guy was very fake and loud. Very fake in regards to thinking he was helping me. RVTS has a good inventory of RV supplies. Problem is though, is that the clerks are always a bunch of jerks. My wife came home and told me they were rude to her. I figured maybe they are just sexist (which isn't cool). I went there to buy something, and came across the same attitudes. They act like customers are bothering them. Because they are the only game near to me (Big box rv supply place is 40 miles away!), I have to go there to buy their stuff. I've been there 4 or 5 times, and without fail, they were rude each time. I will admit that once when I was there, one of the floor salesmen was nice to me. He was being treated rudely by the cash register guy though. Wife went there last week with our young kids, and they wouldn't let our young daughter use their bathroom, even after she showed signs of distress. I am thinking of opening a business like that. If I cared about customer service, I would take their business away in months! read more

Below is a copy of the incident that happened on Saturday. I will post this on yelp, yahoo search, yp, Better business bureau, and in the penny saver. Do not shop at RV Trailer & supply I purchased a converter for my trailer on Friday and found out that I did not need it. I went back on Saturday to return it and the employee, an elderly heavy set man with a disheveled look said I could not return it. I said the receipt says I can return my purchase with in 10 days. The following inappropriate behavior occurred with language that should never be used at a place of business. The employee pointed to a sign high above on the wall and stated "are you a fu$&@ing idiot, the sign says no returns on electrical or special orders, do I have to teach you how to wipe your ass also." I replied, "you can't charge my credit card for a purchase without stating your policy on your items, this isn't right I was never informed that this was not returnable." This conversation went back and forth with the employee saying I was a fu$&@ing idiot and"do I have to teach you how to wipe your ass, and myself stating that they have unfair business practice. I finally returned the item and the employee said for me to find a new place to shop. No problem, Ricks RV down the street can have all of my business. I have a small older RV and my interior lights melted the covers I came here for new covers which they had in stock and the guy helped me find new bulbs that wouldnt get so hot. I drove 20 miles to get to these fine folks. I needed a fridge for an older RV. I had called all the big rv names near me in Clairemont but none seemed to interested (too hard) and all of them where 25 to 30% higher. Not only did RVTS take care of me fast they where hundreds cheaper. Plus they custom fit my old door panel to the new unit no extra charge. These guys are the best. Old School customer service. I have had a number of RV's for a number of years and have done business with this company's service department as well as making purchases in the store. they provide great service and their prices are fair unlike a lot of other places that seem to gouge their customers. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I had a new wire harness that I had just installed for not working. I needed to leave early the next day and it was an hour from closing. Other shops couldn't figure out the problem. However these guys figured it out. They stayed after closing to help me out. Even showed me how to make another circuit to circumvent the factory battery charge function. The problem was that another shop sold me a Ford Explorer harness when I needed an F150 harness. They look identical and plug-in to the stock wiring just fine. Except the wires are incorrect. Everyone was stumped but not these guys. Truly above and beyond service in a pinch, even though they were slammed! Thanks so much!! read more

Awesome RV parts store. I drive down here from Lake Arrowhead to get my parts. They have a ton of hard to find parts IN STOCK unlike camping world. If you are looking for unique hard to find parts for a very reasonable price, this is the place. Also, they have new and used RV parts & the used ones are half price. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. They also manufacture RV bath tubs and shower enclosures on site. I saved at least $75 on my tube buying direct from them. I've been going to this store since I bought my travel trailer, 8 years ago. It's like a hardware store for RV's. If you need something for your RV or cargo trailer, they probably have it.. Went in today to find those Airstream Rim Bullets - that go in center - another Airstream Supply Place up in Kearny Mesa had them for twice the price, and I had to order them...++ pay shipping.
