Made the mistake of contacting another company first who offered no good options and no confidence in quality of work by sending inexperienced guy who spent an hour looking for another access point after telling me the first was irrigation (it wasn't). In defiance, we stupidly rented a snake to try fixing issue ourselves which was a costly bust. Finally an old fridge magnet from previous owners (duh!) pointed me to RVO and let me tell you -- they were FANTASTIC. Easy, friendly customer service lady made a quick appt for following morning & Brian arrived exactly on time. He was clearly experienced and instilled confidence by knowing what he was talking about, being informative but not patronizing and explaining the options while easily answering all my questions. I also liked that he was local, knew the area & had knowledge of city ordinances. He explained our situation, options, pros vs cons & costs and I could tell he made an effort to be upfront and considerate of the expense (rather than try to exploit every dollar like the other guy). With a large clog in the sewer line as the culprit, Brian tried to fix it using a handful of tricks only experience earns, pulling various equipment from the truck & trying multiple paths of easiest access to see if it could remove himself. When all other options failed, he called his backup on standby (the owner himself I think!) and 15 min later they were on the roof preparing to go thru the vent access as the last relatively affordable fix to my plumbing crisis. Both exhausted a lot of effort together, I could hear them working in stride like they'd done this 100 times, managing commercial size equipment, constant adjusting, modifying the machine to remove blades, etc. They didn't give up and finally the feet-long clog of sludge was cleared! And the weight of that feet-long mass of sludge was lifted from my shoulders. Toilet stuff doesn't belong in the shower -- it should stay in the toilet where it belongs. They packed up quickly, removed almost all traces of being there (I of course gave the shower a good clean). The owner went ahead to be a hero in the next person's plumbing crisis probably, while Brian stayed behind to finish paperwork and then fly over there to join him I'm sure. After the experience I had they might've been wearing capes but I can't remember. $600 was a very fair and reasonable price for their stellar service, quick dispatch, unparalleled experience, knowledge of the area, persistent effort, resourcefulness, flexibility and willingness to get the job done. RVO was light years beyond a competitor in value, service and quality of work and I'll use them forever more. We moved into an older home during Covid. We didn't realize how much with it needed until we moved in. Called around and received a handful of estimates. We felt RVO cost was fair and we were also confident in the work they would be doing. Roberto and his team helped us replace piping under our home as well as fixing a drain pipe leaks through the crawl space. Throughout the years we have used their services to fix our dishwasher and sink issues, shower controllers and outdoor water parts. Overall we are very happy with RVO. This is a rebuttal to RVO. Continue downward to see my original post. (...unfortunate this is the way the business relationship will end as we have done business with this church for several years.) Yea, and I had to redo some of your work, one being in an office sink: Your worker forced and skewed a drain pipe to get it to fit the outgoing pipe to the point where it cracked the sink plug fixture, leading to a slow drip. I had to replace the plug fixture and get a flexpipe so that the drain line was cleaner. Not to mention the $5000 'suggestion' to 'unblock' the kitchen sink. (Our prices are competitive and fair.) I got the kitchen pot filler done under $650, and your price was easily double that, so on what planet do you rate your price 'fair'? (We quote based on the work and parts that will take to do the job. As life always is, things do not always go as planned and so there are times when complications occur and we have to change our quote.) Usually upwards. The bathroom where I hired your guys replace two shutoffs and to replace a gasket between a toilet and bowl became replacing the entire toilet, as it'd be 'easier,' and replacing the faucet, as it was deemed 'leaking,' which I didn't question at the time. So my breaking point was due to a) feeling that I'd been manipulated into the replacement and b) your unwillingness to replace such after two months. Your 'excuse,' that it's a public bathroom in a church, is spurious at best, because use is use, and if it was due to, I reckon, your assertion that a multitude of clients used it, why haven't any of the other faucets you'd never replaced started leaking? (I won't go records back to speak on previous work that would give this review more time than it deservers.) That's spelled 'deserves.' You're welcome. And I'll inform the readers about RVO's prior work. (In regards to the most current job, we quoted you to include parts because we do not hold warranty on parts that are defective. We purchase parts from supply houses in the area so if a part is defective it is not through our own fault.) And if the part you installed was defective, why didn't you own up to it, and why'd you immediately decided to hit us with a $450 charge to replace it? It's one or the other, buddy. (2. if the faucet was leaking it should have been made known to us immediately.) I did. Within two days. (All of our plumbers test and check their work to ensure there are no issues. If the leak appeared after the plumber left we should have been notified right away not 2 months later.) I was made aware of it two days prior. My sussing it out showed that it wasn't the install, but the part RVO installed, had failed. (In those 2 months we don't know if someone could have caused damage to the faucet or what happened.) Again, out of 11 or so faucets we have in the bathrooms here, it was the only one that started leaking. It wasn't use, it was the crap fixture you installed. (The reason we told our plumber to leave was because of your unprofessional behavior and language. You immediately began to yell and use inappropriate language) I made it perfectly clear to your worker that I had no animosity to him, his work, nor did I yell at him, I snapped at you, and just you, due to you insulting me with your $450 quote on his speakerphone, for a part your company installed just two months prior. (When this happens our team is advised to remove themselves from the situation for safety reasons and to not further escalate the issue.) We shook hands, and parted with mutual respect. The problem I had was with you, not him. (We will avoid going back and forth with you even in this review since your side of things will be whatever you deem it to be regardless of facts.) You have your facts, I have mine. What you don't have, nor will ever have, is another dime from this church. (We appreciate the years of prior business and wish you luck with your future plumbing projects.) I'm glad you appreciated your stuffing your pockets before the cutoff. And as for the new plumbers? So far, so good. They showed up on time, did a great job, and was half your price, so yes, it's going great. And again: If it were me, if I'd had installed a crap faucet, and knowing I wanted to keep a relationship going with such, I'd've ate the cost to keep them. You know, basic customer service. I'll surmise: Like other contractors, RVO assumed that any and all churches are game to be fleeced, that it's a giant pool of cash to be hoovered up. One company charged the place, before my time, 6 figures to 'renovate' a room, which led to such 'improvements' such as warped doors, unfinished closets, and motion sensor lights that can't sense 90% of the room, so clients had to flap their arms wildly when the lights timed out. I must say when I started this process to replace my sewer lateral, I was not thrilled. I got 4 bids and all were within $800. Although they were not the lowest(or the highest bid), I felt good about RVO because my 2 aunts and freinds have used them before. So far I am very impressed. Save your money and your time and DO NOT use this company! Trust me when I say this but this company is a BIG RIP OFF! I called them to look at our water heater because the water heater kept going out and we had to continuously turn off and on the water heater for the water to heat up. I scheduled an appt for Tuesday (which they DID NOT mention no kind of cost while I was talking on the phone just for them to look at it) and Roberto came out to look at it. He said that the reason was because there was spider webs and to keep the area clean and also because the valve was on high for the water heat and to lower it so we did. Thursday night the SAME THING HAPPENS and we call Roberto and he comes out again to look at the water heater an hour later. He explains that maybe because its a commercial water heater so it's much bigger and not a residential?! ACTUALLY it's a residential water heater as it states on all my receipts and manuals from home depot so please stop with the BS! And why should it matter if it's a residential or a commercial? Then he keeps talking about how the new water heaters have a lot of sensors and doesn't know what could be the cause. Then he explains that the flap on the top keeps going down where the oxygen needs to come out of and he messes with it and then it starts working. The next day Friday night it goes out again and this time I'm pissed because this guy does not know what he's doing, obviously! I called Roberto and let him know its doing the SAME EXACT THING which is why I called you in the first place and you charged me for coming out. His response on the phone with me was, "Maybe you should call the manufacture because I don't know what the problem is" WOW!!!!! What a waste of time and money. This company does not want to refund my money for their B.S. service which is fine as I'll call my credit card company to dispute the charge since they didn't fix anything. Oh yah and if you want rude customer service then this is the best place to go to as well! Roberto actually had the nerve to say to me, "well I hope the other company charges you more " Who says that to a customer?! I don't mind paying to have my water heater fixed the only problem I have is paying someone who didn't even fix NOTHING!!! I ended up calling another company who gives FREE ESTIMATES and actually seem to know what they are talking about when we told him what kind of water heater we had, unlike Robert who seemed to know very little to nothing at all about Rheem water heaters. If you're looking for a plumber or any kind of water heater maintenance, repair, or just anything replaced then trust me when I say this is NOT the company. Just look at their most recent reviews (which I should have known better to do) and you can see a lot of people are not satisfied with their poor lack of service. Also if you read below from what the management stated is that he replied that someone explained that we there is a charge for estimates when in fact we were not. The lady on the phone never explained that nor did Roberto until he charged for a service of just looking at the water heater and not even doing anything to it! And if you look on their website it states that they give "FREE ESTIMATES" so why was mine not free? Had them come out to check my 50 foot long sewer lateral. Instead of crawling under the house where the sewer lateral begins, they found a clean-out at the rear yard to use a mere 16 ft from the main sewer, and decided this was enough to declare the entire 50ft lateral would have to be replaced. When confronted with the fact that he only checked the last 16ft, he demanded full payment before doing the full job contracted for. He offered to let me pay by credit card, but it would cost an additional 3 percent to do so. Disgusted, I told him I'd get them a check from my parents for the $175. A couple days Iater we drove to the business address (which was a poorly maintained home in a residential district) and hand delivered the check. Afterwards, my emails, messages, and voicemails asking for a return inspection went unanswered, and I told them My dad would be taking them to small claims court. This elicited a nasty message from them saying they'd decided to cancel my check because I promised to take them to court if they did not provide the service they were contracted for. What a horribly unprofessional fly-by-night acting bunch of slackers. I wouldn't use them again if they paid me for the privilege. I'd give a negative 5 stars if I could. Roberto is a bad business person. He just hung up on me because I asked him to honor his guarantee that our lines would be clear after spending $7k on a lateral replacement. When they replaced our sewer lateral, I had asked him to inspect our shower and bath drains. Instead of doing this for us, he promised that if we ever had problems, he would take care of it for no cost. The reason for this is that he was sure our problem was only with our lateral. Unfortunately, he is not honoring this offer. I guess I should have known better, but his employees have been so friendly. Ernesto needs to go into business for himself, because the owner of RVO is just bad news. He does not line-item his bids, and when he finds out that the scope of work was cheaper and easier to fix, he did not offer any discount, of course not. Instead, he offered me a BS line about taking care of his customers. I shook his hand and figured that we were valued customers. I think that anyone considering RVO for any major service should try another company that is more professional in their demeanor and contracts. I recommended him to another neighbor who is an experienced contractor, and he felt that his bid was totally outrageous. It was too late for us, and we must consider our next options because we have not actually fixed anything. Extremely frustrating. Any recommendations in our area are welcome. read more

When you find a competent, fair and dedicated service provider, you keep them - and you tell your friends. Our bathroom sinks weren't draining well and it had gotten to the point of fixing it. After giving it a shot on my own, unwilling to pay out for a pro, I realized, "I need a pro." I called RVO. Mike was excellent - not only did he spend more time than he'd originally thought, he came back on a Saturday morning with a beast of a machine that he assured me "gets through anything." After a lot of mechanical pounding and what can best be described as "a ferret and a cobra going at it in the pipes", he broke through. He replaced the trap, fixed a leak and gave us a the bill - with a discount. Roberto was awesome! My wife and I recently purchased our first home and needed to replace the sewer line. I called a lot of places looking for the best price. Not only did Roberto give me the absolute best price, he was the only plumber who advised me about the county's sewer line replacement grant program. With other contract work I've needed in the past, I've been burned by the contractor with the lowest bid. Either the work was not done on time or the work was simply not completed. So, I was a bit nervous this time around. This was, after all, my first major home project and even though Roberto's bid was the lowest we were still talking about a hefty sum. However, Roberto's attitude and responsiveness put me at ease. Do not ever use this company for your sewer lateral. They were doing a sewer lateral across the street today and within 30 minutes they cut through the Comcast coax cables in the ground and shut our cable and internet off for the entire day, I'm hoping it's fixed by tomorrow by Comcast who has to run a new line under the street. Hey didn't even have the decency to tell me they had damaged the line I spent an hour diagnosing the connection until I realized this company's work was the problem. Stay away. I have used them three times over the past year: twice to unplug items that were trapped in our pipes (practically a full weave bundle...not mine and baby wipes...again, not mine), and to replace a party of our water heater. The first visit, to unplug the hair went smoothly: customer service was great, he arrived on time, performed the job at quoted price. The second visit, to replace a part of our water heater did not go as smoothly. He arrived on time and performed the job. The job took longer than they expected because he was unaware that GE water heaters used a kit system for replacement, plus he had to leave to get tools to complete the job, but none of this bothered me too much. I was briefly concerned that he didn't have the tools to complete the job when he arrived because we informed the call-taker of what kind of equipment we had, but he seemed sure that he could complete the job and he did. The only upsetting part of this service was when the call-taker called to inform me that I would need to pay 50% more than the quoted price when no additional work was performed outside of the requested service. Then, offered me a slight "discount" off the higher price, which would have still been more than the quoted price. The reasoning was because they were unaware the part was a kit and that it would take as long as it did. I mentioned that I received three quotes for this job, both of which were cheaper and one of the guys knew that the part was kit, but I chose this company because of a prior good service. Then, the plumber told me that the guy who quoted me a cheaper price probably would have tried to charge more once he saw the water heater. My thought was, 'Like y'all did.' I kept that to myself. Anyway, long story longer, I didn't pay any extra, my interaction for the duration of the time was good. I called them a third time because although the customer service for the last visit was lacking, the actual service was good. This time we had a clog in the pipes due to baby wipes. When you need your sewer lateral replaced, it can get really costly. You're looking anywhere from $4,000 to $10,000+ depending on the contractor. So you definitely want to find someone who is competent and trustworthy. RVO Rooter is both. To start off, you want to get a lot of estimates from different contractors. You also want to ask a lot of questions because a lot of these licensed contractors work in different cities and the laws are all different. I never met Daniela because we just talked on the phone (many times I might add) but each time, I was impressed by her knowledge, patience and customer service skills. I could tell that she had done this before because she knew exactly what laws applied to my city (and believe me, I heard a lot of different things from different contractors and even the City itself). Onto the job.. I accepted the job on Thurs and RVO Rooter was able to schedule/get permits/do everything necessary the VERY next day! Talk about efficiency and knowing what needs to be done. I was so impressed because I really needed my lateral replaced and the weather during this period was terrible. Friday was the one day the forecast said no rain. Daniela told me her team would be coming out on Friday at 8am and be finished around 3-4pm. Guess what? Roberto and his team arrived EXACTLY at 8am and was done around ~3:30pm. I love working with someone who is on time.. that tells me 1. they take their job seriously and 2. they've done this before and know exactly how long it takes. The job was complete, stress-free. I even received my Certificate of Lateral Compliance on time, as Daniela/Roberto quoted me. I give this company ZERO star. I called this company because their phone number was on my water heater. Roberto said someone will be over within an hour. I was told I would receive a free estimate before any work is done. Mike showed up within 40-minutess. I explained there was no hot water. I asked Mike right away how much it was going to cost for him to look at it. He didn't give me a estimate. He looked at the water heater and said the pilot light was already on and all he did was turn the knob to ON. Mike said I will charge you for half the sevice call which will be $75. I told him I only had $60 cash. Mike said I will just take that. I feel I didn't get my free estimate to begin with and then to charge me $60 just for turning on the switch to ON outrageous. The four jobs involved different problems with our 60+ year old plumbing in our house, and after each visit they were fixed promptly. He is reputable, reliable, and extremely courteous!! His rates are extremely fair and he will not suggest unnecessary work. I called mid-morning on a Saturday and got the message machine. Roberto returned my call in less than 30 min and promptly dispatched a truck to arrive within another half hour. True to their word, Phil drove up in his truck less than an hour total after I left the original message. It took a couple of snakes and lots of elbow grease shoving the snake down the lateral. It looked bad - really yuck, but Phil would not give up until he cleared the line. It probably took an hour to an hour and a half to finish the work, but he cleared it. Price was very reasonable! My bathroom sink has been clogged for months. I tried a few "environmentally friendly" products to unclogged it but apparently a bunch of hair was trapped in the sanitary t-bar and wouldn't go beyond. On the recommendation of my neighbor, I called RVO and spoke with Roberto. This was in the early afternoon on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. He said he could send someone within the hour. Sure enough, a very friendly guy named Phil showed up. He took a look and said "let me get my snake"! Within mere seconds Phil had the sink uncloggedI He then tightened all the pipe joints checking to ensure there was no seepage of water, wiped down the sink and said "you're good to go"!
