In my case, I have quite a story of having to go five days without hot water because the unit I received was defective. The day after the install we found the tank had shut down. After a reset and restart done over the phone with the installer assisting, the unit failed again, a short time later. The next day which was a Saturday, another technician came out to swap out a heat sensor which appeared to be the problem. While changing out the part, the tech noticed that insulation near the assembly had burned, and ash was present. He vacuumed it out and restarted the unit. It made a horrible noise, and he spent a half an hour on the phone with the manufacturer tech support trying to diagnose the problem. The noise eventually went away and he finished the repair. Unfortunately the machine shut down again after we got one warm shower. I called on Sunday, and explained that I was no longer comfortable with the unit being in our house and I wanted a replacement, of a different maker. Without hesitation they agreed, and Monday morning, after acquiring a, more expensive model of a different make from a supplier, we got a replacement installed, at no additional cost. These problems are rare, and not the fault of the installer. I could not have asked for a more timely and considerate treatment as a valued customer of this business. read more

He was largely uncommunicative, staring at his iPad and tapping things for at least 20 minutes before telling me that he would have to make some calls to get someone else to help him. Did not use WHO as they were overly expensive. You do pay more for the larger corporate companies with the shiny branded vans. I got my new water heater installed the next morning by Quality Water Heater Service for $1800. Water Heaters Only quoted $2300 to $2800 for the same service. Not hating on WHO, just saying there are less expensive small business options out there that should not be overlooked. Obviously, check the reviews first and do your homework. Came back on a Sunday night, and called the number of the tank for Water Heaters Only (WHO) who (ahh..clever) installed the current water heater tank back in Jan 2015. I guess it is time to replace it. Got a call back from WHO's Lori and schedule for a technician to come in Monday afternoon to do the replacement. The technician was Will G who called ahead and said he will be at our house in 15 mins. Of course, he showed up right on time. Will G surveyed the current unit, recommended a replacement, explained what's need to be done, and gave me a quote for the work. Our old Takagi TK3 tankless water heater was failing, and we had a company out who gave us an outrageous quote for what we wanted. Googling around on a Friday, found WHO and made an appointment for a second opinion the following Monday. When Loni called to give us an ETA, I told him to bring a unit with him because ours had officially died Monday morning. Thank goodness he was so awesome and the price quote was so reasonable. We paid $3k less than the other guy had quoted! One of the best things was that Loni was an actual installer and not a salesman. Great experience with Water Heaters Only and super impressed with the work done by Alex B. Our water heater leaked into downstairs neighbors condo. It's more than 10 years old so it was overdue to be replaced. Our water heater is connected to a central air heating system so not many plumbers can do this type of work and the heater is not common. In the past, I have had to call numerous places to get a specialized plumber and ensure that they had the heater in stock (Bradford White). Got some recs from other neighbors in our condo complex and many recommended Water Heaters Only. The rep that I spoke to on the phone was super calm, patient, and organized. He gave me a quote and a window of time that the tech will come. He also told me that the tech will pick up the heater and will call with an ETA from a certain area code. Alex called and arrived very close to his ETA. Super nice, friendly guy but most importantly, he was very knowledgeable and skilled. He pointed out that the drainage pan was too small and wasn't lined up with the drainage so that's why it leaked into the condo downstairs! So in addition to installing the water heater and connecting it to the heating system, HE also built a platform, solder some pipes, and connected it to the drainage system to ensure that it would drain properly. She contacted the manager Paul and arranged a polite and highly professional technician, Steve, to fix my issues. Steve replaced the corroded pipe, the shutoff valve, the FloodStop device with 1", instead of 3/4", outlets to match my pipe size, and also installed a 4-gallon expansion tank to avoid my occasional TP valve opening issue. There was an alternative 2x cheaper - buy a heater from the "big store everyone knows" or pay the price for the same brand (which really worked). So I decided to proceed with the second option.
