RVS moving quoted a fraction of that and did a quality job with excellent customer service. I refer all of my friends and they are grateful. Had to hire movers to move my big items from apartment to house back in 2021 . I had under estimated how much stuff I had and they were like no problem and brought an extra large truck. Not only did not all the stuff fit, they wanted to make another trip during rush hours get the extra stuff which was props to them for making an extra 2 hour trip to pick up the extra stuff. They had enough people to do this and rebuild my furniture. So thatss the good part. The bad part was that we scheduled the move on 10am and they showed up at 8am to start moving and I did not expect them to be that early as I had not packed the kitchen yet. One more bad part was the guys didn't not want to move the a large cabinet to the second floor but didn't tell me why as he didn't speak English. I had to pick an entire cabinet by myself to the top floor. I think if the workers had better communication I could have avoided the last step. Other than that they were careful with all my large items (i.e. tv and bed frame) Value was quite competitive at the time and gave all my documents on time) read more

This company came as a recommendation so we all know how that could go....good or bad. I am happy to report that the move of items that I had recently found at an estate sale wear picked up promptly and delivered right to our home. They following items were moved: Large sofa Club chair Glass dining room table - very heavy Huge antique mahogany mirror Smaller mahogany table When I emailed the company I described the items and was quickly emailed back with a flat rate which included wrapping of all of the items both in a plastic type shrink wrap and movers blankets. NYC movers can be quite pricey, but I found that the price quoted was fair and more than reasonable. They showed up on time, even considering traffic which can be an issue here. I needed help moving from one 3rd floor walk up to another in Brooklyn - got a ton a quotes and RVS Moving was easily the most reasonable one and the only one that didn't have a bunch of add-on charges. Now we moved just last year so knew what kind of movers we were not looking for. These guys are just amazing through! Three guys came on a really hot day to move us from a 4th floor walk-up. Raymond and his team were on point, on time, efficient, polite and professional. I called and received a quote on Thursday and hired them for Saturday. They wrapped the furniture and moved it out from where it was picked up and brought to the next location, where they removed my existing furniture to the curb. They brought in the new pieces, setting it up and disposed of all job related debris. A second delivery location was included and in the same fashion, they took out the old furniture and brought in the new piece. Again, setting it up and removing all the job related debris. They are very reasonably priced and took less than 2 hours from start to finish. I was afraid of hiring movers because I've heard and witnessed plenty of horror stories. I didn't want to bother friends or family to lug my heavy furniture from Queens to LI because its just a lot of work and everyone is busy. These guys made my move from my apartment in Queens to Suffolk, Long Island easy breezy! The guys showed up a few minutes early on Saturday ready to work. Loaded up all boxes and reinforced them with tape, disassembled my furniture wrapped it in moving pads and reassembled the furniture in Long Island. They also moved furniture around the LI house from first floor to basement floor. My move and set up was completed in 3 1/2 hours that is including the 60 minute drive + traffic. (My plants were safe too - not one leaf fell off!) The guys were super friendly, professional and efficient. They wouldn't allow me to lift a finger unless it was to direct them on which boxes or pieces and where it should go. They even gave me a few minutes to wipe down the furniture before loading it up on the truck. The price was very reasonable and kept at the flat rate as promised by Ray. The booking was done over email and hassle free, not much back and forth, three emails and the move was confirmed. Awesome! They helped me more than they know and were worth every penny. We shopped around a LOT for movers. I hadn't moved in 9 years and we were switching boroughs for the first time. RVS had incredible reviews and gave me one of the best flat rate quotes I could find...I honestly thought it was too good to be true up until the day. Ray was courteous and responsive via email and even provided a COI without an extra charge (unlike most of the other moving companies I spoke with.) On moving day they showed up at 9AM on the DOT. They went through our apartment to see everything and got started quickly and efficiently. They wrapped up everything including our 70" TV (not a scratch on her!) and some of our loose/garbage bag items which was a pleasant surprise. Also, this was a fourth floor walk up with a large courtyard on a feels-like 100 degree day. They remained professional and moved our 1 bedroom into the truck in around 2 hours. It took them around an hour to get from Manhattan to Brooklyn but once they arrived they got started immediately and even helped us get the air conditioner up and running. The whole move ended up taking about 4hrs and 45 minutes. RVS made what would usually be a stressful day into a pleasant experience. If we have to move again, which hopefully won't be for another 9 years, we will definitely call RVS again! read more

I had booked a different moving company days in advance, but on the morning of my move they canceled on me. RVS came to my rescue! I received a phone call and a quote within 10 minutes of submitting my request form. They were incredibly accommodating and were able to schedule my move for early the following morning. I was provided with a 17' truck and four employees for a very decent flat rate. Everyone wore masks and practiced safety. The move happened incredibly quickly and efficiently, and all of my belongings were well cared for. I highly recommend RVS. read more

I hired Ray who owns RVS to move me my family from Manhattan to Furlong PA. About 80 miles. I told them we would do the packing. About 60 boxes. He quoted me a fair price to do the job. Unlike some of the other moving companies who wanted to charge me for tolls and any parking tickets they might get he said that was his responsibility. I also needed him to drop off some wardrobe boxes and stop at Manhattan Mini Storage to pick up what I had there. Ray showed up with a bunch of guys and started loading up everything. They took care is making sure nothing broke along the way. I put the sensitive items in my rented Mini Van as I didn't want those to bounce around in a truck. We started around 9:30am and arrived in PA around 3pm. By 5pm they were done, after reassembling those items they took apart. Like the dining room table and other furniture. All in all they did a fantastic job. If you are going to do the packing than I recommend RVS highly. read more

We used RVS in mid May for a move from a two bedroom 3rd floor walk-up to a 1 bedroom elevator building about 15 minutes away (driving) in Queens. Ray's quote was the most competitive flat rate. It was supposed to rain that day so they took the initiative to come 30min earlier, plus bring an extra man to assist. We were thankful he did bc it started raining just as they finished up the move! We had a ton of stuff, filling their entire 20ft van, but they were really efficient and the total time was around 5.5 hours (3.25 hrs loading, 2.25 hrs loading). Ray and his team were very courteous and careful. Would definitely use them again. read more

Such outstanding service and courteous movers. I was living with a roommate and wanted to move out of my bedroom and into a (huge) place of my own that was literally 400 feet away. I highly recommend RVS! PROS - FAST! Granted, I didn't have MUCH to move (bed, dresser, about 30 medium sized boxes) and I didn't move far (again, 400 feet away), but they were really efficient. It took under two hours. - FURNITURE DISASSEMBLING AND REASSEMBLING. I did NOT want to disassemble and reassemble my bed. Not sure if this is a service they have on all moves, but they did it for mine and I was SO GRATEFUL. - FLAT RATE. I got quotes from other moving companies and they all gave me hourly rates with a minimum set of hours I had to pay for. I was not having that. - NO EXTRA CHARGES. Some other companies I got quotes for even charged for things like tape, padding, and other packing materials. No thank you! CONS - The pricing was a tiny bit higher than I expected but it was worth it given the fact that they disassembled and reassembled my bed. read more

I end up not using RVS Moving and here I will explain the "why not". I described my moving needs to the employee who picked up my call to RVS. Basically, it was a relatively small job moving furnitures from a large studio apartment (a bed, a TV, a couch, etc.) from one location to another that were only 10 min drive apart. Parking space was available for the truck at both pick up and drop off locations. Elevators were available so no stairs to climb. Hassle-free. Simple. I got a quote for $600. Outrageously overpriced. Or maybe that was their way to turn down a job. My move was successfully using a moving company for only $400. read more

UPDATE: After my initial review, I was contacted by the owner- Ray. He was extremely apologetic. He explained that they were short-staffed that day because of the holidays, and that he will no longer use the crew that he sent me. He did me one better, too. He came to my home, in person, apologized again, and reimbursed me the extra $150 cash that I paid the subpar crew just to get them to finish the job. So while I can't speak for the service, since I didn't get the A-Team, I can say that Ray is a class act. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Unbelievably disappointed. I own a minivan with a ton of cargo space, and I'm only moving 20 minutes away. I could've done this move on my own, with the help of friends. The ONLY reason I hired movers was to remove some stress, and some wear and tear from my shoulders. Yet RVS did little to help in those departments. I feel duped. I went with RVS because their reviews looked stellar, their website had a nice interface for getting a quote, they said disassembly and reassembly were included, and because they offered a flat rate. I called, heard their very clean cut and professional outgoing voicemail message, and got a sense I was dealing with pros. I gave them a list of what was going to the new place, as well as the logistics of the move itself. They replied with a quote. I agreed. We set the date and time. All was set. Then the day of the move came. For starters, I got a last minute email about them needing to come an hour later. Ok. Then, instead of clean cut professionals. I got a 3-man crew of guys who spoke broken English who asked if I speak Spanish (which I do) to better facilitate communication, all wearing random street clothes. No uniforms. No logos. Immediately, the lead guy began claiming they couldn't handle my things. They saw my two massive IKEA closets, which are about 8 feet tall, and the main guy said that they're 15 feet tall. He sounded shocked that he would have to disassemble and reassemble, and even called someone who was likely a manager. He put me on the phone with him, after complaining about the size of the units and making a fuss that I needed more work than he'd been told. The guy on the phone asked me to pay $50 more. Ok. I agreed to the added fee. Then we went through what I needed moved. Every step of the way, the main guy acted like this was more than he was told. I explained that it was all on the list I gave RVS, so while I'm sorry, it's not really my fault. He kept complaining that he and his guys aren't being paid enough for this. Again, not my problem. Finally, they got everything packed (or so I thought) and left. I then noticed that they left my son's crib- an item that was both on the list and that I pointed out to them earlier on. So they came back. The main guy, again, seemed flustered that he had to take it apart. I then looked around, saw there were some other things I'd love them to take, took in mind that he wanted more money, and said "Hey, if I throw in another $100, can you take some more?" He, of course, agreed. So now I was paying $150 more than I had initially agreed to. But hey, I was willing to just do it to get this all over with, take some time off my hands, and to make the guys stop acting like I was taking advantage of them. Oh, I should mention that he also snuck in reference to getting tipped in the middle of all this, despite me adding more money and this all being cash. Charming. So they left, for a second time, and I stayed behind to pack some things into my van. My wife let them into the new place and they got to work. Then I went over, with my loaded Van, only to find out that THEY had forgotten a vital piece for my IKEA closets at my old apartment. He then pointed out that he has commercial plates and is therefore limited in how he can travel, so they told me I should go back to get the items they forgot. So I did it. 20 minutes for the initial trip. 20 to go back and grab what they left. Then 20 to return to my new place. So I spent an hour driving around, doing trips back and fourth...because THEY left something. Tell me, where was the convenience in this? Where is the value in this service, if I have to pay more and still do all this legwork? I hear the main crew is in Jersey on a job today. Looks like I got the B-team. Or possibly the C-team. The truck they came in looks nothing like the ones featured on their page. It didn't have RVS on it anywhere. It was covered in graffiti, and it actually had a different name on the doors entirely. So I get the feeling that RVS shadily, and underhandedly, subcontracted another, lesser company to come handle my move today. Still, I was nice to the guys. I was patient. My wife gave them pizza on their way out. Yet, despite all the hassle and all the annoying back-and-forth, the main guy (Daniel) acted all indignant when I gave him the increased balance in cash, with no tip. I was a little nervous because...you know, any move is stressful and also I didn't know what to expect, as I found this guys online. Well...best decision ever. Ray and his guys are pros, extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. And they charge you a flat rate, so no clock ticking. I called Ray hundred times before the actual move day to ask if I need to wrap a table in a certain way, or how should I leave the bed, etc, etc and his response was always "don't worry about, we will take care of it"...and they did. These guys were great! I recently moved from Hoboken, NJ to Murray Hill in the city and needed some help moving all of my stuff across the river. I went from a one bedroom apartment at a 3rd floor walk up into a 3 bedroom apartment with an elevator, so I had a lot of stuff to move into an even smaller space. I made sure to have everything pretty much ready for them when they came. They called at about 7:50 am (my appointment was at 8 am) to tell me they were about 10 minutes away. Ray showed up with 2 movers. He basically stayed on the truck as the movers quickly took everything and put it onto the truck. They wrapped my dresser, side tables and tv stand in plastic, as well as covering some of them in a padded blanket after wrapping them. It took them about an hour to get everything out of my apartment and then we headed off to meet them in the city. It took about another hour for them to unload, even while dealing with extremely hot and humid weather. Not once did they complain, and they were very professional. My mom's car was having some engine problems and they even offered to take a look under the hood. Definitely going out of the way of what they needed to do! They had quoted me at 400, and even though I had a few more things (bags of clothes, a snowboard and some odds and ends), they kept the price at 400. FY, they only take cash. I was going to give them a check, so I was unprepared but they waited as I ran to an ATM. I definitely gave them a hefty tip for everything they did for me. I highly recommend them.
