I used this service on 6/28/15 and they were very professional from start to finish. Although they did run late as I was their second job for the day - please note: unless you are the schedule first job; chances are movers will be late getting over to you. You can never anticipate what may/or may not occur during the first load of the day - i.e. weather, location, access, etc... They called and informed me that they were going to be running late and apologize profusely. Minus the delay, they were on point. Ray and 2 of his employees moved us yesterday from a one bedroom apartment in Astoria to a storage space in Yonkers. I initially contacted RVS because of the consistently positive reviews on here, and was not disappointed. He offered the best, flat-rate compared to other companies I researched, arrived 20 minutes early (a sign of professionalism in my book), listened to my special requests throughout the move and remembered them, and communicated effectively between me and the other 2 employees to make sure all flowed smoothly and quickly. Granted, we were prepared and had pre-packed as much as physically possible in order to be ready for them to just come and pick up. But they also had to wrap up and disassemble some larger furniture, and did so with care and efficiency. Since this is a year of transition and we may be moving again in a few months, I will definitely call Ray again. I had no problem tipping him and his men about $80 each for a job well done on top of the flat-rate for the move. They deserve it for their hard work and professionalism. GO WITH RVS! read more

This is the second time I used RVS Movers. I would HIGHLY recommend Ray and his team to anyone in need of an experienced, professional, prompt, hard working, reasonably priced, fast and most accommodating moving company. This past Sunday, I had to move the contents of an apt plus the contents of a storage unit in Brooklyn to a six-flight walk-up apartment in Staten Island. It was a challenging move - a couch, easy chair, full size bed frame(which they took apart and re-assembled) mattress, dresser, desk, heavy medical school text books, many boxes of kitchen equipment, clothing and more - up six flights of stairs & THEN UP ANOTHER INTERNAL FLIGHT OF STAIRS TO THE BEDROOM - carrying any of the boxes, furniture I requested be put in the loft area. The three men tag-teamed loading and unloading the truck. They completed the move in record time with nothing damaged. Ray and his team were kind, friendly and incredibly hard-working. Not sure what the deal is with these guys. I submitted my request for a quote through the website. I got no confirmation email. So I followed up with an email asking them if they got my request. They replied and asked me for info about my move. I told them I already submitted all of that info on the website. That was the last I heard from them. Since then they haven't answered the phone nor have they replied to any of my phone calls. Guess they don't want my business. Used RVS Moving Company on December 21st, 2015. They were excellent! Ray was honest and was able to accommodate my schedule and availability! He came next day! Ray price quoted me over the phone for $350 for two couches, a mattress & box spring, a bed frame of a headboard and footboard, two dressers, a chest, and an end table. They wrapped everything securely and handled all with care. I was moving out of my 3rd floor walk up apartment to my new home in Franklin Square. When I explained the stairs and such they accepted the challenge without complaint or hesitation. After they packed all up, The truck arrived minutes after I pulled up. Super fast! Movers unpacked everything and put all furniture exactly where I asked. I cannot say enough good things. So affordable, honest and hardworking. Will recommend them to my friends and family! The manger was very nice and the lead mover were nice as well. They sent 3 old guys to move a lot of heavy stuff. I do not mean to judge, but these guys were not equipped to move stuff. They were nice but VERY slow. They also had to repack the truck twice (in the rain) so some of my stuff got wet. They also took a VERY long time to drive to the next location / APT. The main issue I had was one of the movers was AWFUL and VERY rude. He spat on my floor INSIDE my apartment, I was trying to direct on what was needed etc. and he ignored me and did whatever he wanted to do (which also held us up) Also some of my items were broken and damaged, I have an art deco armoire and the handle was broken off of one of the drawers (I did not realize it until much later) also some other smaller items were cracked etc..... I would have given a better rating, but I feel that I paid for a top tier crew and I got a second / third tier crew. Again the head mover was nice and helpful, but the other guy was beyond terrible.... read more

Impeccable service and a great price. I recently moved from an elevator building to a walk-up (2 flights up) and was quoted a $340 flat rate by Ray. This was substantially cheaper than the 3 other movers we contacted (most rates were $400+ if not more... wow, moving rates have really skyrocketed since we last moved 2 yrs ago!) + they had stellar reviews on Yelp and were recommended by a friend of a friend, so we went w/ them. Couldn't be happier w/ the results. PROS: - they sent 3 guys to move our stuff to help move things more quickly (many movers send only 2 guys) - on-time and friendly service - not once did they complain about lugging our heavy furniture (and we have a LOT of it) up 2 flights of stairs. also, we were packing until the last minute (i.e. we were still packing WHILE they were moving our stuff), and they didn't give us any grief about it or get in our way - two of our bookshelves ended up being too large, so they spent 30 min dismantling them for us (and didn't even try to charge us extra at the end) - they wrapped all of our furniture and re-assembled our bed for us after moving it into the new apt CONS: - no insurance (luckily our building didn't check, and there was no damage, so we were fine) We gave them a 25% tip at the end because we were so happy w/ the move. read more

Moving is a painful, time consuming and stressful process in and of itself which is why I bit the bullet and hired movers. I must have called or emailed at least 15 different companies and while many of them were VERY professional, the price just wasn't right. RVS came in with the cheapest quote and that was actually what i paid so no bait and switch. On the morning of my move, Ray (the owner i believe), called to let me know they were running late (very professional). My friend stayed at the apartment that i was moving from and called me after the movers had left (to come by my new place) to let me know that everything went smoothly. At my new apartment, they quickly brought up my furniture and boxes and assembled all the pieces of furniture that had to be dismantled for the move. The entire process though long went smoothly with very few hiccups. One thing that movers did forget to do was install my wall unit AC (I hadn't noticed this till after they left). When I contacted Ray, he was very apologetic and offered to send someone to finish the job. In the end, we couldn't get our times to sync up so he proposed having my super do it and i will then be reimbursed. Wow is all I can say! It's definitely a challenge to find an adorable and trust worthy mover. RVS gets high reviews and they deserve them. They gave us a flat rate that was quite affordable Our move took all day but Ray stuck to his price. They were courteous with us and conscientious with our stuff. Ray and his crew helped me move last month. (Am late in writing my review.) Prior to that, he was very responsive via email and gave me a fair rate and stuck to it. I had quotes from other movers and Ray was the most accomodating. I can't believe this company got 5 stars. The only reason why I even bothered writing up this review is because I wanted to warn people about my horrible experience. So I called up Raymond (owner?) to request a quote and everything seemed fine and as planned accordingly. The next day I never heard back from Raymond in regards to my insurance certificate request nor did he return any of my calls or text. Now if I was in this business or any business for that matter, I would take the time and return my business inquiries to all my customers. Ray is fast about getting you an estimate and returning emails. If you're moving to a building that requires insurance, you simply give him the manager's contact info and he will take care of the details. He and his crew showed up right on time on the morning of our move and didn't complain or fret about all the boxes of books we had -- even though there were A LOT and they had to deal with carrying them down 3 flights of stairs. They moved us out quicker than I thought and did a careful job all the while -- helping take apart and then reassemble our dining table, bed, and crib. Not only did Ray give me the best rate out of the many moving companies I contacted, but he and his movers were also very courteous and professional. He called the morning of to let me know that he was stuck in traffic and continually gave me updates as to what time he would arrive. I ended up having a lot things that needed to be moved than what I initially estimated, but he did not charge me extra. In fact, he kept asking if there was anything else that needed to be moved. These guys are awesome! They moved my studio from Manhattan to the Bronx in March. First of all, they arrived half an hour early (gasp). They were careful with items, pleasant, and 100% professional. They used their own blankets and tape to wrap (and sometimes re-wrap to better secure) any loose or fragile items I had. They dissembled and re-assembled my mammoth captain's bed, uncomplainingly. I literally did not have to lift a finger. Also, I really appreciated their flat rate as I did not have to worry about time; in retrospect, their price was lower than the final cost I would have paid with a timed move. Great company! We just moved today and the experience could not have been better. The movers came early, packed up the truck no problem. They helped wrap a few boxes and furniture so nothing was damaged. Honestly where do I start? Rvs is completely professional. I called them and spoke to ray. This was on Friday June 20th 2014 and they scheduled me for the 25th. Yea I know real last minute. They arrive on the 25th 30 Mins early and was done packing by 11:30. They are reasonably priced and fast. Ray picks up the phone and if he doesn't he will call you back. Used RVS for my move in January. Can't say enough good things! They were prompt in their response back about a quote. Showed up on time! We're efficient in working. Wrapped all my furniture and treated it nicely. I have very difficult to assembly ikea furniture, yet they had no problems with assembly! Finished the job before the amount of time they originally quoted me. And asked for the exact amount they quoted me (which was about $100 less than other companies that quoted me).
