The candlepin bowling lanes are in great shape, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole atmosphere awesome.The arcade floor is a massive highlight. They have a fantastic mix of games for all ages, including an Arcade1Up Jr. PAW Patrol system that is perfect for the little kids. Plus, it is incredibly rare to find a place that still keeps classic, nostalgic games running, but they actually still have a functioning Mad Wave Motion Theater simulator here! So much fun! I had never done candlepin bowling before so my review is likely biased by the joy I experienced of trying something new. Dare I say candlepin is better than regular bowling?! I came with a couple friends on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one other family there and staff was helpful when our lane had issues clearing pins. The price is a little high at $32 per hour but otherwise no complaints. I just wish we had this back where I'm from so we could do it more! This probably isn't the nicest alley you've seen but it's decent enough and gets the job done. read more

Went there with my family for an afternoon outing. For a bowling alley, fairly clean place inside. We had tons of fun bowling and then we let the kids play arcade games. A few recommendations - if you want it a bit quieter when bowling, ask to be placed in a lane away from the arcade games (they are loud on the far left when facing the lanes). Keep in mind the arcades are primarily focused on tickets and prizes. There are a few games that aren't tied to tickets but that's primarily what they are. At that, the kids had a blast playing games and racking up tickets. The staff there was patient with the kids as they spent their tickets too. read more

Visited this place when we had family in town a little while ago. Its an ok place to go spend some time, especially with little kids, but it's a little worn out and tired. We did some go carting, played some arcade games, it was fine for the price, but again it's seen better days. I think a little renovating to update and clean the facility could go a long ways in making this place feel cleaner and more inviting for families. read more

usually a 5 Star experience, but on school winter vacation arriving at 445 with 3 kids. place was packed. I asked to bowl big balls. I was told by teenage worker who was miserable that bowling league starts at 5 pm. so no more bowling tonight. we proceeded to play video games and drop 120$. at 545 pm still no bowling going on. I confessed I knew the over 60 league star at 615 pm and he could have made us happy and made money for the company by letting us bowl for 1/2 hour. he said oh well who cares "people suck" . Lack of experienced workers who do not wanna be there, plus large crowds and many kids. I had a bad experience and felt they wanted everyone to leave. read more

Millis is definitely pretty far away, even from Waltham, MA. I definitely prefer bowling with the larger bowling ball better, since it's really hard to control the candlepin bowling ball AND have power. The bowling balls here are pretty beat up, but the lanes and pins were fine. They also have a small arcade area where you can play games to win tickets, and there are some decent prizes (but it takes a while to get enough tickets to get a good prize). They don't serve much food (other than nachos) onsite, but you can order pizza from a place down the street and bring it in. They have beers on tap though. This isn't a bad place for a cheap team outing, just don't expect anything fancy! Parking is easy since they have their own lot. read more

Relatively expensive at $32/hr per lane, $3.50 shoe rental. There is an arcade/redemption but it's no Dave and Busters. read more

I love this place. Let me just say I do have a little trouble at times finding an employee and there's the occasional grumpy kid working the points-prize exchange who I'm forced to deal with, but what do you expect at a bowling alley, right? The arcade games are fun and actually give tickets, making you want to keep playing. My favorite game has the claw machine grabbing at rolls of tickets and my daughter is fond of the Deal or No Deal game. Spent $50 to step back in time in the musty dated decor for some bowling and games with my kids. Bowling was decently fun. $20 in coins earned us enough tickets for two small plastic toys that broke on the way home and a few peanut butter cups. My daughter wanted one of the candies so I opened it. I opened the first one, and it was moldy. Proceeded to open the rest of them in front of a very rude counter attendant. He swapped them for hard candies begrudgingly and never removed the clearly moldy peanut butter cups! After this experience, I contacted them via their Facebook page. I was told to call whoever runs the page. She informed me she would handle it promptly in the morning. The next morning, she contacted me, saying they had removed the moldy candy and contacted their supplier about the issue. She said they were going to send me a gift card to make up for the hassle, which I thought was great. I messaged her back my address. After two weeks, I checked, and handy ol' Facebook messenger showed me the message with my address was never read. When I contacted enquiring about the status of my gift card, I was informed it was sent and someone in my household must have taken it. Being that my toddlers have no way to walk down the street by themselves, somehow have the mailbox key, and reach the top of the bank of mailboxes to retrieve it, that is impossible. When I informed them that, I was ignored. Proper customer service would have been great, not an empty promises! read more

I went here last week for the first time in a long while, and its actually pretty nice for a bowling alley- not ghetto. They have strobe lights and such on friday and saturday nights. And its just candlepin bowling, no big ball. My advice is that you make sure you know how much each game is, because my friend and I just assumed it was a flate rate (because it said something about flat rate for saturday nights, which is when we went) and we ended up getting charged $60 total (per game per person), which was unexpected. read more

Had my daughter's birthday party there this past Saturday. About 8 kids and over 35 adults. Booked 4 extra lanes of bowling for the adults to coincide with the kids bowling (6 lanes total). We also ordered extra food from them as well. Guests arrived at 2:00 said their hellos got their bowling shoes and began bowling around 2:30ish. Almost 30 people bowling and drinking (since Millis has a bar). All of a sudden 3:05 the lights on the lanes shut off and all bowling STOPS. When I went up to ask what happened I was told that the hour of bowling was up. I was told that the bowling began at 2:00p. It didn't matter that no one had started bowling yet! No one ever mentioned this to me. I didn't even give them the list of names for everyone bowling until 2:20 and it was never mentioned then. We didn't even get to finish one game of bowling. Everything shut off with no warning. If the worker had come up to me and said that it was almost time we would've booked more time. Here's the best part.. there wasn't anyone else bowling during the time we were there! It was a very warm day. No other parties scheduled either. When I spoke with the person that I had dealt with leading up to the party when he showed up for his shift and voiced my disappointment his response was simply "Ok". Didn't offer an apology or anything other than that. So I left pretty frustrated. This is my 3rd party that I had there within the last year and it will definitely be my last. read more

I brought my wife and kid up here 4 times last year. Havent tried the candlepin bowling yet. So this review is about the arcade area. They have a good arcade selection for the kids, you purchase a card and the tickets goes in the card, and i prefer it like that so i dont have to be carrying his tickets around all night long. Also the prices for the games are pretty cheap, its about half of what you would pay in any other arcades, and the best part: its close to where I live (medway). Recommended. read more

Stopped in here on a school holiday with the kids. It sits in the center of quiet Millis, which has not much of a center, but this is on main street. Place is pretty big from the outside and I had been to other Ryan Family Amusements in Newport and on the Cape. This one has a candlepin bowling alley in it. The one thing I can say, this place is tired. Needs serious updating, old alleys, old games, even old prizes and not much food. Spacious inside but basically dead, and needs to either be closed down or just refurbished. Some of the games were broken and although they use cards to pay for the games, they still give out tickets?? Prices were okay but with all the other bowling alleys around this area, not sure I would keep coming back to this one. read more

Totally refinished. About 20 nice, clean lanes. Can get wicked loud if it's crowded, but that's why it's nice they serve wine and beer. Substantial game section as well. Only down side is the price. $20+ is Pretty expensive for an hour of bowling. read more

My only complaint was about the web site and not the bowling alley itself (place was a typical bowling alley, nothing fancy but not bad either). According to the web site it's open at 9AM but when I arrived at 10:30 there was a typed up sign on the door that said it wouldn't open until 12:30 because of a private function. I brought three boys who were super excited and then totally bummed. Luckily we were able to rearrange plans and return later. Several people in the parking lot were also frustrated by the late opening. One grandmother had brought her grandkids from half an hour away. I wish the website could be updated when opening times will vary. Or at least put a disclaimer below the hours of operation that says it's possible that times may vary. read more

I am very bummed! Came on a Thursday. Checked hours online. Were told Thursday is best night. Went in. "Sorry all lanes are used". "All!?!?". I guess it's league night... I went in with my 5 year old. For her special night. She was very sad we couldn't bowl. We stayed and played some arcade games. Decent games. But they require a game card. And use random denomination. (.67 cents) So you will always have a remainder. And requires you to come next time to add more. We unfortunately will not be returning. read more

Medway baseball is selling coupons to fundraise. One of them is Ryan family amusements for a " Free game of bowling with purchase of one" . I told the man as I was getting my shoes I have a coupon and he said yeah you pay at the end so I played two games with my kids and they said well we changed our pricing so those coupons don't really work like that . And took 4.50 off after charging me 45 dollars . I asked to speak to a manager and the guy said well I can help you and then proceeded to do nothing and still charge full price . If you are going to help medway baseball at least honor your coupons . read more

Great place to bring your family or children for bday party or for an hour of fun. $20 in tokens is enough for 2 young children to earn enough tickets to exchange for a variety of toys, games or candy. The toys are pretty cheap and are mostly throw always but my children are happy to count their ticket balance and scan for tickets with "777". Ryan has a better token:ticket ratio compared to the games at Pinz or Fun-n-games and its much easier to get to. It's also a good place to bowl, they serve beers which can help your game. read more
