Ryan is the rare professional who goes out of his way to help others even when his system didn't exactly fit their needs. I had talked to a bunch of security companies and needed someone to fully hardwire an alarm system due to EMF sensitivities. I had no success because they are very difficult to find these days. I can't speak highly enough about the work Ryan did for us. We had a burglar alarm that had been installed with the house whose siren no longer worked. The siren was also located in the attic in a spot that was now close to totally inaccessible. I must have called 20 different places looking for help to repair it. Nobody wanted the work. They only wanted to install a totally new system at a minimum price of $10k. This was the story for the last two years. Since it was not worth $10k to me I just let it go. Last week though I found Ryan listed on yelp. I called him and he responded within a couple of hours. He said that he thought it could be easily repaired by putting a new siren in the interior of the house with an hours worth of work. The cost for a new siren with labor would be $110. Even in the worst case, a whole new installed alarm system would be under $1000. I asked for a reference to call before I hired him and he supplied it one day later. The reference gave an outstanding review so I went ahead and asked Ryan to come by. He was very busy but came by at 7 PM the very next day to look at it. As he had said, it was just a problem with the siren. He ran a wire from the alarm box in our closet through the wall and hooked up a new siren on the outside wall all within one hour. The total price was $110 as per his original estimate. Over the last couple years I have worked with contractors who never showed up on time (or at all), did shoddy work, or tried to jack up the quoted price at the end of the job. Ryan was a true breath of fresh air. I asked him at the end if he preferred being paid in cash and he replied it made no difference to him. Wow, is he honest! His responsiveness, quality of work, and honesty was unbelievable. I could not recommend him more highly. I should also add that I think this is the first time ever that I have taken the time to write a positive review for service for anybody on the internet. All the others I have written were negative. Our second security system from Ryan. Home security has become even easier and more sophisticated. Ryan is wonderful and on top of everything. I think it's more important than ever to have the highest quality home security. Our place is like a fortress. We feel safe and rest easy having this home security system. You can use remotes for everything and when you're home, set the outside doors and windows. When you leave, the system will tell you if there is an open window. It will tell you which room has been left open! I cannot stress strongly enough how important having home security has become. If you have cameras, it's great but you need a system that notifies the police immediately. We have all of it and the police had to check our camera recording because a neighbor had an incident. Just call Ryan and set up an appointment as soon as possible. We put him in charge of deciding about sensors and alarms and I couldn't be happier. Ryan is amazing!! I called on Saturday and Ryan graciously gave me all the options for home security. After discussing the latest in home security, I was confident Ryan was perfect. After meeting this wonderful person, I was so comfortable with Ryan being in charge. We decided motion detectors and doors and window alarms. Home security has come a long way and it's very user friendly. Plus, the sensors are tiny and you won't even notice them. It will tell you which door or window is open! And a panic button! If I could have given Ryan from Direct Protection 6 stars I would. I looked at 6 other companies and most of them wanted to sell me ADT monitoring, only worked on commercial, or were not available in a timely fashion. My project was to upgrade an older Honeywell Vista 40 panel we installed in 1996 to a modern Vista 20p. Ryan and I texted each other to set up an appointment about a week out and I sent Ryan some pictures of the existing system. Ryan showed up on time at 7:00am and had the whole installation done, rewiring 30 zones to the new panel he installed, programming each zone for the keypad, and testing each zone done in about 6 hours. He was efficient and worked with us at every step of the way. It is really refreshing to have an expert who is so easy to work with work on your home. 10/10 Ryan Sharp from Direct Protection ADT sets the bar for Customer Service! Ryan lives up to his 5 Star Reviews & because of the 5 Stars is why I called him instead of the others. I visited his website & left a request quote and was called back the next day. He was very polite, knowledgeable & patient as I had a lot of questions since my family has never done a home security before. Ryan was very honest which I really liked & did not try to sell me things I did not need. I had asked him about ADT cameras & he gave me his honest opinion without pressuring me to buy them. Ryan also tried to save me money & work within my budget by swapping out items that came with the package that I might not need for other things I might have to pay extra for. For example, the package came with 10 Window Sensors & Ryan said I could swap out some to buy other things like Motion Sensors or extra Remotes, etc. I set up the appointment for Ryan to come out & do the installation which was free. Ryan came & was very outgoing and a very hard worker. He first told me everything he was going to do before I did it. Ryan said the install could take an average to perhaps 6 hours but Ryan managed to finish in 3 hours. Ryan installed everything very easily & even removed my old non-working alarm panel & old alarm window sensors for free. Ryan taught me how to use the alarm panel & how everything worked and it was very easy to pick up. Afterwards he went over all the paper work & signature and everything was very straight forward. Ryan said if I ever needed anything to just let him know & he would come over free of charge. I have since asked him a couple of things about the alarm system which he answered thru email & I am thinking about having Ryan come back out to install 1 or 2 more motion sensors since we live in a fairly big house. He educated us on the best option suited for our needs unlike the other folks who just want to slap you with the most expensive solution and walk off. On one instance when our sensor battery had run out, Ryan worked with me over the phone for 20+ minutes to reprogram the system and even sent me friendly reminders to get a new battery and re-setup the sensor - he could have charged a fee for visiting and doing the job but he is just not like that. I had scheduled another alarm company, but after reading the reviews about Ryan, I cancelled the appointment and booked with Ryan. It was the best decision ever! He returned my call within an hour and was at my house the next day! It is rare you meet people like Ryan. He is so genuine, smart and so personable.
