Contacted Will to help wire up our home with ethernet networking. We needed 2 4-port ethernet panels behind our home theater TV and then 2-port panels in each room of the home. Will confirmed our site survey appt over text before arriving on time and doing the walkthrough of the home and what we were looking for. He paid attention and gave relevant suggestions for how to make things easier on both himself and us for the installation, and talked through any ideas he had. For the actual install, he again confirmed the night before via email and text, and showed up with a crew of two guys and himself and got to work right on time. His crew was really knowledgeable and friendly; there wasn't any awkward "stranger in my home" kind of feeling during the work. They got everything we needed, even when we had to make some last-minute adjustments. Cost was right at what we expected for the work, and Will had a nice detailed invoice to show us. I haven't gotten a copy of it yet (work just happened yesterday) but in conversation onsite we were clear on the cost so it's no big deal. Overall, happy with the work. This was a pretty basic job in my opinion, but Will and his team treated it as thoroughly as a complex install. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, but I thought I'd write this review to save someone from the frustration of being "strung along". First I called "The Wire Guy" who was heavily booked and recommended Will (MW Home Wiring). He was busy, but able to come out within a couple of days to look at the job. We seemed to be on the same page and he said he'd send me a job quote via email. All good. After about a week with no word, I called to make sure he had the correct email address for me. Didn't hear from him for two and a half weeks despite several phone calls, so I gave up and contacted "The Wire Guy" to see if he could fit me in instead. "The Wire Guy" said Will had been sick and he would give him a call. I got a call within a few minutes from Will. He came out within a day to get my phone working again, temporarily (one of the issues I was having) and promised to send out the quote soon and said he was still heavily booked and it might be two to three weeks until he could get to the work, but a quote would be along within a few days. A week later he emailed to let me know he was working on the quote. Another week and a half went by and nothing. I emailed to say I was getting frustrated and needed to know what his schedule was and when he could fit me in. Surely my turn in line had come up by now. No return email. No return call, no nothing. 6 weeks out and I have nothing to show for my patience. And the phone isn't working anymore. It was a temporary fix, as he said it would be. I understand that he got sick in the beginning, but it only takes a minute to communicate that or to make up a quote for that matter. To this day, he still hasn't returned my call or email. I wish he would have let me know at some point that he just couldn't do the job instead of stringing me along. That way I could have called another contractor sooner. read more

What a disappointment. Will and met on 3/1 I explained to him what I needed. He and I agreed that a estimate would be written up and emailed to me on 3/5. 72 hours after the deadline, I have yet to receive a phone call nor email regarding the estimate nor a reason for the delay. After speaking with Will and clearing up the miscommunication (to where changed the date of the install twice - the second time giving me less than 48 hours on a weekend). I decided anyway to proceed with Will I'm doing the job. Once he arrived at the site with Eddie, they both got on with the business at hand. While I am impressed with the quality of Will and Eddie's workmanship, I am hesitant on requesting their services again by first leaving my DVD player on the floor, uninstalled when the player was found in the room by Will installed and operational. Secondly, the abruptness that Will displayed after receiving the check, stating that he "had to go", left me with a feeling that he didn't want to be there. In short, I would recommend his services with the pretense that if you can endure miscommunication before the work starts and an abruptness after it ends, he would be the best candidate for your wiring needs read more

Will did a wonderful job wall mounting my tv and soundbar. He even all my electronic devices in the closet behind the wall where the tv was mounted. It is all being controlled with the "dinky link" IR extender kit by Xantech. Will did this all in one day and cleaned up afterwards. It looks and sounds great! Thanks Will! read more

I just moved into a new home in Willow Glen - new construction. Well, trying to get the wiring complete, internet working in all the rooms - getting the existing wifi extended for reliable signal in the whole house - Will did a GREAT job. I called him on a Sunday, told him what I needed - next day Monday - job complete. I called him a few days later with a couple of additional changes. Once again - he's there next day. Hello, I used Will a couple weeks ago to mount a couple TV's in my place. He was awesome. Very professional and takes pride in his work. He did a great job in mounting my 70"W TV, and the BOSE system I bought. I was very pleased with the work I did, and will use him again when I make some changes to my sound system in the backyard. I had a previous contractor leave the area midway through my project. I contacted Will to to debug the remaining issues I had with my wiring and home automation system. He had a few questions prior to starting and we texted a few times back and forth. Will came to my house surveyed the situation and gave me a ballpark estimate of the job. I really appreciate that when we discovered how badly my previous contractor had screwed up, Will told me the additional cost that time would incur rather than just allowing the time to stretch on and give me an increased cost later. (It turns out that fixing faulty wiring in my attic crawlspace is a hassle) I am very happy with Will's work. Asked Will if he could wire our house in with Cat6 ethernet cables (connecting living room, bed room, and office) and he came by to give an estimate the same week I sent the first email. His price was fair and he seemed like a friendly and honest man and he came by to get the work done just as quick. I had to work the day he did the installation but my wife was home and him and his partner were very polite, efficient, and cleaned up everything they had to disturb to get the job done. And they were definitely the type of professionals I had no problem working on my house while only my wife was home, and they were even kind to our overly friendly golden retriever. That's all just bonus on top of the fact that the installation went great, ports were installed very clean in the exact locations we wanted, and are operating super fast. Will and I originally talked in January about running ethernet and cable to multiple rooms. Due to my traveling, we were not able to schedule the work until March. First off, Will and his assistant showed up on time and were very professional, from laying down mats to protect my bamboo floors to discussing options as we went along. Will did a great job for us finishing off our structured wiring. We had partially installed Ethernet, cable, HDMI and speaker wiring. He sorted out and organized the wires and terminated everything nicely. He went out of his way to match our other outlets so everything looked good. He also replaced the small panel in our garage with a larger one that could fit a larger switch and a cable modem. It was very neatly installed and everything was connected properly. To top it off, the price was fair, he was very quick, and he is pleasant to work with. I was looking for a contractor to install a security camera I had purchased for my home. With all the positive reviews here Will was the first one I contacted. It started out really well. Will arrived at our home, we went over the work I wanted him to do and where to place the cameras and discussed a few options. When he left he said he'd send me a quote for the options we discussed. A day later I received the quote as we had talked, but it was missing some of the options we discussed. I replied to his e-mail and asked if he could include the other options in his quote. A day passed, two days, three... no response. Maybe he missed my mail? I sent it again. A day, two, three... a week passed, no response. I gave him a call, no response, left a voicemail. A week, two weeks, three weeks... to date I have not received any response to any of my e-mails, nor to my voicemail. What a disappointment. read more

I highly recommend MW Home Wiring!! Will (and Eddie) were complete pros! They did an awesome job installing my new home networking equipment and I'm extremely happy with the results. I wanted to increase my home networking capabilities but wasn't exactly sure how that would work. I called Will and when he first came out to my home for a consult, he listened to what I wanted as well as provided valuable input and suggestions. I could tell right away he was extremely knowledgeable. We formulated a plan which included running network cable to multiple rooms in my home and tying them all into one centralized location that also included a new electrical outlet; adding multiple data ports in the home for direct hard-wired connections (office, behind TV); moving my existing modem to a different location and then adding a network extender on the other side of the home so my wireless signal would be strong throughout the home and out back by the pool; and finally, moving an existing, eye-soar DirecTV coax cable from the front of my home into the attic. Soon after our consult, he provided me with a cost estimate that was very reasonable in price so we scheduled a time for the installation to occur. He showed up on time with his colleague, Eddie, and they strategized a plan and went right to work. They were efficient and deliberate with all the tasks and even agreed to do a few day-of requests that were not part of the original plan (like run a phone cable, add an additional electrical outlet and do some touch up paint after removing an existing cable). The extra charge for these was, again, very reasonable in price. The entire process went as smooth as I could have hoped and the results are great!
