Theresa and her crew really saved the day for our family. On short notice I contacted her to see if they could take care of our 3 dogs over Labor Day Weekend. I had won a trip and was frantically calling around only to find out everyone was booked - one of those places suggested I contact Just Around the Corner. They came to the house and provided excellent care and provided top notch communication throughout their visits. When we got home everything looked great and the pups were happy. They use an app that makes the whole process seamless from beginning to end. I first met Theresa during the spring Melrose street festival and picked up her flyer. We used her during a recent weekend trip for our puppy. $45 for two nights and Theresa also has doggie day care for $15 a day. We didn't realize we needed to bring dog food when we dropped off Abigail but Theresa was flexible with providing it. Usually, with the boarding we have done with Altavista and Petsmart, we wouldn't need dog food but at least now we know next time. Theresa also had other dogs there and when we picked up Abigail, we noticed how much calmer our dog was. I think it did her a world of good to play with the other dogs. Given the reasonable prices, we would definitely use this pet sitting service for overnight and doggie day care. She also takes credit cards which is convenient! read more

Theresa and her team did an exceptional job taking care of our little chihuahua papillon mix Bellini for 4 days. We were skeptical leaving her for 4 days, since we have heard stories about people leaving their dogs at chains like Petco or Petsmart. But they exceeded our expectations. Teresa is a saint! I have two white boxers (brother & sister) and needed someone to watch them for longer than normal.. she was super nice on the phone and even nicer in person. She took my dogs in on extremely short notice and was super affordible which saved my life! On the day that I left to go out of town, my air condos stopped working properly. My sister was having problems at her house and was not available. Mara contacted th company, had to be at my house for hours several times for when the repair people came. On top of that she took excellent care of my animals. I ended up being gone for much longer than I expected and the way she approached my cats (two of whom are exceptionally timid) with lots of patience was far better than other companies I had. But anyhoo -- Theresa was so friendly and caring on the phone, I just KNEW that she was gonna be awesome. She had an initial visit to the house to meet our little cuties -- and they just loved, loved, loved her instantly! So again, no worries or concerns for me. When we came back from our trip, there was a nice detailed note listing the times that they visited and any special notes. It was like a cute little doggie report card or something. PLUS - - both doggie food bowls were washed and left drying in the sink, and with all their dog blankets all neatly folded up. I have two incredibly spoiled siamese kitties that need lots of love and attention. Like most pet parents, I'm very protective of them and only want responsible people looking after them if my husband and I are out of town. I found JATC 7 or 8 years ago and couldn't be happier with the level of care and compassion they provide my boys! Over the years we have dealt with medications, seperate feeding routines, etc. and JATC always makes sure they know the latest instructions before we leave town, and always provide a detailed report upon our return. This is the 1st time I have ever felt compelled to leave a negative review of a business. I was in a bind as my regular pet sitter was booked, so I took a chance and found Just Around the Corner online, saw they were licensed and bonded so I met with them to walk through my home and I hired them for 3 overnight visits while I was out of town. First off they were not there at the times that we had discussed throughout the visits, I have a ring doorbell so I know everytime someone comes and goes in my home. Fast forward I get home and this is when my jaw dropped. The way that my home was treated was horrific, oil spills on the counter top, stains on the cabinets, caked on condiments of some sort on the countertops. My notes and baggies that I had carefully laid out with each dogs medications lined out were crumpled up and shoved in a corner. One day, a pill was missed for my high anxiety dog. So that is just the start! There is dried diarrhea all down the back of one of my dogs, then I start noticing poop smears and stains on my walls and baseboards. Poop stains on the carpeting in my bedroom and even some had gotten on my other dog. There was no attempt to clean ANY of these things up let alone clean my poor dogs off. All three of my pups were clearly distressed, so much so that they now have diarrhea and I will probably need to take them to the vet. I am mostly horrified that I entrusted my dogs with these people. They were so exhausted and stressed when I got home they literally passed out in exhaustion. This is always the sure sign of a very bad pet sitter. read more

Theresa, Edith and Amanda were exceptional in caring for my dog Hemi at our home. He was sick and we were away for an out of town wedding. When Hemi took a turn for the worst while we were away, Edith and Amanda stayed with Hemi and gave him lots of love thorough out the night until my sister got to our house. We then got there about an hour later in which we had to make the heartbreaking and painful decision to let him go. We have used Edith before and she and Theresa had always took good care of my 2 dogs, spent time with them, gave them their meds/fluids and more importantly, lots of love. I was initially impressed with the reviews and when I contacted (I believe the daughter?) she was extremely sweet and informative about the services regarding boarding. I had been looking for a place like this to board my 1 year old goofy Doberman rather than a kennel. The daughter (I'm sorry I can't remember her name) was very helpful and ensured me my dog would be in good hands. I had informed her from the beginning about the breed and high level of energy he is. She did not hesitate, and said he would be more than welcomed since they would be able to handle him regarding as she has an Australian shepherd she could relate to. I honestly felt relieved and happy knowing he would be in great hands. We went to go make an initial visit to check the place out and see how he would do with the other dogs, this was a week before I had to leave out of town, no problem. The location is a house which I was fine with but was much smaller than expected. Theresa (the mother I assume) opened the door and had a worried look on her face. From that moment on, everything felt off. She was worried about high energy he was and wasn't sure how it would work. She asked if he eventually calms down and just seemed worried the entire time. I have NEVER felt this uncomfortable with someone regarding my dog. I was told he would be in good hands and now I was there seeing the opposite. She said so herself that it probably wouldn't work out but if I couldn't find another place then she offered to take him in anyway.. Honestly, I was already upset that there was no way I was going to leave him there with that first visit and having to be worried how my dog would be welcomed. We immediately left and was never contacted from that day. Heads up, ask about what breeds, and levels of energy they accept. This place is way more suited for older, and small dogs.. read more

Mara, Jessie, and Theresa have been lifesavers when I've needed someone to watch my cat. Not only do they provide my very friendly pet with food, water, and a clean litter box, they also give him plenty of affection and attention. He needs subcutaneous fluids daily, and Mara, who used to be a vet tech, is able to administer them with Jessie the Cat Whisperer's assistance. I was in a bind when my dog sitter cancelled the day before my weekend trip. And then I found this place at the recommendation of my vet. I am so happy I did. I called at almost 5 pm and talked to Theresa and she said there was no problem with the short notice. As this was the first time my dog was staying with a sitter she was a little nervous going in but after a few minutes she was happy and playing with the other puppies. Watching her warm up I new I found the right place. This dog sitting is run out of Theresa's home. She has gated off her house so the dogs can't get to places that they are not supposed to go. There is a doggie door that they can use to go outside in the yard and play. Penny felt at home right away. When I picked Penny up she was so excited to see me but really wanted to keep playing with her new friends. This place also offers day care for days when you have to work late. My only complaint is that my dog lost her sweater while there. Theresa did say that she will call when it's found so I can pick it up. read more

My pets are very fortunate to have Just Around the Corner as their caretakers when we are out of town and need someone to feed them in our home or have an event at our home (remodeling or maintenance) which requires the dogs to board at the Just Around the Corner. Just Around the Corner is a family-owned business and conducts their business out of their personal homes. This arrangement is not for everyone but works perfectly for us. More often times than not, we require feedings/watering/medicating for our dogs. I generally speak with Mara, Theresa's daughter, and she is able to accommodate our needs and set our minds at ease. Jessie, a Just Around the Corner family member and employee, is remarkable and is the one who provides us with house visits while we are away. She is extremely competent. My pets are on several medications and the written instructions I leave are followed to a "T." On days where we travel with our dogs, I can also ask Jessie to feed and water our chickens, water my plants on the patio and water my garden. In addition, Jessie takes the time to really get to know our pets and their idiosyncrasies. Once I have arrived from our excursions, I am comforted to know that she took care of my dogs because she "picks up" on their personalities. She gives me a distinct description of their behavior which makes me realize she pays close attention to their individual characteristics. Although I have never used their transportation services, I do know that they will pick up your pet from your home and board them for doggie daycare. Furthermore, we do not require that JATC walk our dogs but I do know that service is available, too. I do not hesitate to use Just Around the Corner and I do recommend them to others. read more

Theresa has been caring for our blind bulldog Bumpers for around 8 months. He goes to daycare with her 5 days a week and she even picks him up and drops him off at our home. Bumpers has basically grown up with Theresa and he absolutely loves her. Every day when she comes by he is jumping for joy. He's not an easy dog to care for - he cannot see and can be loopy sometimes. I believe Theresa has helped with his anxiety and knows what makes him happy. She's showed me how she has little beds for him all over her house and on special days I think she lets him play with the hose, which is his favorite. Theresa took excellent care of our dog while we were away for a few days. I was a bit nervous about leaving her there, since she's a rescue and can be a little timid around new people. Theresa answered us right away whenever we texted her, and was sympathetic to our dog's needs, even offering to stay close to her if she was ever nervous or scared. Theresa gave our dog her allergy medicine as needed, and fed her her special diet perfectly. Thankfully, my dog loved Just Around the Corner! It was an excellent experience. When we picked her up, she was just as healthy and happy as when we dropped her off. Not to mention, the house is spotless and totally dog-proof, with a fenced in backyard the dogs have free range of.
