Built in credenza for our landing/entryway.

I found Ryan through a Google search and am so glad I did. I inquired about him building a platform bed with drawers for my daughter's room and he responded quickly. We iterated a few times on the general concept, then he came to look at the space, finalize measurements, talk about wood types, and then he finalized the price on the spot. We loved the bed so much that we asked him to also built a built-in credenza for our entryway. Again, the process of measuring, designing, and pricing it took just a few iterations, and a few weeks later, we had a beautiful credenza installed! I can't say enough about working with Ryan. He does really high quality work, is a great communicator, and sets and meets timelines. I am already looking around thinking about other projects we could use him for!

Solid walnut dining table and bench!

We contacted Ryan to build a solid walnut dining table and bench. We'd been looking for awhile, and just couldn't find what we wanted pre-made. Ryan's online portfolio really impressed us, and the other reviews here made it an easy choice. Ryan was a pleasure to work with! He shows great care and pride in what he builds - he even requested to see the space where the table would go to make sure what we had in mind was a good fit for the space. He also invited us to his shop when the table was almost done to help select the finish. The table and bench turned out beautiful! And he gave us great tips on caring for the wood. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a custom build - he does a lot of commercial projects too and it's easy to see why. If we have another project in the future we'll definitely turn immediately to Ryan.

I looked all over the internet and local shops around Seattle for a woodworker to finish a slab of wood I purchased and transform it into a dining table. I decided to go with Ryan and his company to finish my dining table and I couldn't be happier! He was very professional, did great work, was quick and very easy to communicate with. Most places quote you a certain figure, then ad all these 'unforeseen cost' at the end. Ryan kept true to his quote and over delivered a great table in the end! I highly recommend him for any work-working project you have!

Initially, there was a mix up in terms of my job request to them to build our a closet, but when the issue/problem happened, The Custom Closet Company owned up to it and really showed that they genuinely wanted to help my resolve my issues. All on-call contacts and e-mail communications I had with them were professional and they were prompt in providing honest answers regarding situation/timeframe of when the job could happen. What I liked was that the company was quite dependable. Once they understood the scope of work, you got the design, choices to pick/opportunities to provide feedback and select the options like colors/additional add-ons, and things generally flowed quite well. Unlike my experiences dealing with other contractors, they were pretty dependable and you could count on them holding up to their promises in terms of price estimates, timeframe of when the job could happen, and the duration of the job. Given how professional their company was from pretty much my interaction with all the individuals there (General manager, office lady who picks up the call and designer), I would definitely use them again when the next opportunities to remodel/custom make cabinets/closet/workspace at my townhome in Seattle in the future.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!! TL;DR: The premium price you'll pay is not reflective of true quality,…read moreservice or craftsmanship... instead, you'll end up paying a huge margin on poor quality cabinets to pay the middlemen! Writing a very lengthy review in hopes that others can make informed decisions about working with Phinney Ridge after our disappointing experience. In October of 2024, we chose to work with a small, local business because we expected a higher standard of quality, craftsmanship, and personalized service. Our initial experience in the showroom met that expectation and gave us confidence in the process ahead. Unfortunately, the remainder of the project did not reflect the level of service or product quality we anticipated. 10 months later, and we are severely disappointed with how things unfolded. This was a substantial investment--nearly $70,000--and we expected a finished product that aligned with the value and promises made. The first issues arose when the cabinet boxes arrived damaged. To PRC's credit, they addressed this with a restoration expert, and we're satisfied with how those specific concerns were resolved. However, the ongoing issues with woodgrain matching have been far more frustrating and ultimately unresolved. After three separate attempts, it became clear that a proper match was not going to be achieved. We were made aware by PRC that we would be receiving cabinets "from the same tree" to ensure an exact match across all cabinets. One day one, we had multiple varieties of wood grain/color. If consistent material wasn't available, we should have been given the option to wait. Instead, we now have five visibly different shades of wood throughout our kitchen as shown in the photos. We were also disappointed in the communication and service from Phinney Ridge once the "Pacific Coastal Marketing" team (a dealer representative/middleman) became involved. We did not expect to work through a third party--we selected PRC specifically because we wanted to avoid that kind of detachment. I found myself repeatedly chasing updates, which, according to PRC's own "Cabinetry Design Services" document, should have been handled by their team. It was unclear who was responsible for what, and the handoffs between Phinney Ridge and Pacific Coastal Marketing only compounded our frustration. To illustrate this disconnect, I'll share a quote from Pacific Coastal Marketing's homepage that I found telling: "Coastal Pacific Marketing offers valuable knowledge of the markets they serve... Their goal is always the mutual success of the manufacturer, the dealership, and each individual designer." Notably, the customer is not mentioned. This perfectly reflects the experience we had: at a certain point, it felt like the end user was no longer the priority. I share all of this not to be combative, but because I believe in honest feedback and hope this helps improve future experiences. Based on our experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Phinney Ridge Cabinets to others.

The quality of the material is exceptional and on point, and I believe you get great value for the money. They are good people and very professional, and I will be buying more kitchens from them in the future.
