this message is specifically for the CEO Robert Sanchez. I worked for Ryder for 6 years throughout the Los Angeles Domicile. I was injured twice in a two year period on the property due to lack of safety protocols. I was then advised by HR I would he terminated if injured a 3rd time. The safety committee tried to accuse me of injuring myself on purpose from safety hazards I complained to the Director and Managers about. Not only was I injured on property twice, but I was racially profiled and retaliated against by management. A white employee, HR directors daughter, grabbed my two afro puffs, told me "black don't crack," and "foshizzle my nizzle" after requesting a task to be completed. evety racial and harassment encounter I've had was told to a supervisor, Kayla Horn, Peter Treash, but nobody protected me or reported it. After my second injury, my OT was taken away because the daughter of a tenured employee didn't want me working at her counter. i was then told by Crystal Salgado not to come back to work until my disability was over. i told managers but you know what they did? have me drive 60 miles on my injured ankle to another location to train a new employee while interviewing to replace me at my home location. they moved me to a single employee location where I was "laid Off" . can't forget the icing on the cake. Kayla Horn told me I couldn't work OT at her location unless I interviewed with her and she hired me. she also told me she didn't want to have to "punish me" for made up complaints by Crystal about my job performance. what's so crazy is all these non minority managers you hire they stick together. for example, a white male employee threw a clipboard at me in front of his manager and they didn't fire him. In fact, we continued to work the same shift and have to report to each other. Ryder took 6 years of my life and my career ended in the hands of racist and nepotistic managers and HR. i filed 2 complaints with HR regarding these issues and no one resolved them I was "laid off" with two racist and harassment cases and two open workers comp cases. your HR department is a scam and the same thing that happened with that black employee in Moreno Valley and she sued you guys for a million dollars and won is the same torture I went through at the hands of your people. I have a family and invested my time only for it to be taken away by racist you employed ! Everyone of these people were involved in my "lay off" scandal !
Kayla Horn- main culprit-racist and a follwer
Peter Treash- a manager with no backbone . does what he is told and won't stand up for what is right. i told him about my Afro puffs being grabbed but they didn't go to HR to bay for me
Crystal Salgado- She made remarks that discriminated against me and my disability. told me not to come and work at her counter until I'm done with my light duty disability . Kayla took her side because her dad is a tenured employee and accused me of not doing my job and couldn't work at her location. she didn't want to "punish me" not really great with her words or tough conversations while disciplining an employee. how she said it made me feel like I was a slave.
Tabitha Finch - Debra Finch (Hr directors step daughter) grabbed my Afro puffs and said Foshizzle my nizzle and "black don't crack"
Yvonne Barragan- to be a Director you never came to me with a resolution or feedback regarding my concerns. i had to open HR cases open with Kayla Hoen and she called me to close them basically begging me to close them out. Maybe because your managers never told you about my concerns.
here is the kicker Pat Hinich was talking to Peter Treash on the phone making death threats to come shoot the rental counter. I called Peter on it and he brushed it off like he's just stressing out. I have the recording of this interaction but again your managers do not resolve issues with HR. they play favoritism and use their power to get you gone. such as my case. I asked the HR rep to read me back my statement, he retracted the whole conversation and didn't have any of my concerns in the report making it hard for an actual resolution. If you're a black person looking for longterm work at Ryder, I do not recommend this company they do not promote us blacks to manager or higher positions regularly and they will penny pinch you on the raises. I interviewed for a position and they hired a lady from outside the company that previously worked there. I never was promoted in the years I worked but got an added senior title. the senior title only got me replaced by another employees brother. If I could give the way your company handled me and my concerns as an employee experiencing discrimination. It would be a 0. it's like slave masters who lie to you like they care but don't follow up or do any leg work to assist. Overall, Racist employees in power positions that are in it for their own personal interest. Robert Sanchez this feedback is for you and those employees I called out!! read more
