AAA is unfortunately partnered with west hills towing for battery checks and exchanges. Apparently AAA makes the tech check the battery every time they come even though the first tech stated the battery needs a change. The first tech from west hills towing company straight up lies to customers saying the battery is either chargeable or replaceable when he doesn't have the jurisdiction to do so. So he doesn't charge my battery that apparently needs to be charged and he sets up a next day battery delivery and installation without telling me what time it is. He just said to call AAA in the afternoon which I'm glad I didn't listen to him because he scheduled it at 10am when I had something going on. The 2nd tech comes the next day and demands paperwork from AAA that the battery is under warranty when this was never discussed previous day or by AAA. He checks my battery and said it's good. I called AAA to verify and they reported from previous day that my battery report was "good and no issues" so why did the first tech said it needed to be recharged or replaced? It will forever be a mystery. The funny part is this company loves to hide its tracks because they conveniently "don't have any documentation of the tech coming out the previous day". My fault for trusting the system. I should have asked for all the documentation from the beginning. Don't even bother with this disorganized dishonest company. West Hills Towing proudly carried on the towing industry tradition of having the warmth and hospitality of a parking ticket. What made it extra impressive was this was through AAA, where you usually expect at least a little professionalism. Enter Nancy, self-appointed Supreme Court Justice of Towing Operations. Before my vehicle could apparently earn the right to be transported, I was informed with a spectacular attitude that because I didn't have my registration physically inside the vehicle, my tow was being cancelled. No problem though. I called AAA back, they sent another tow company, and amazingly, the vehicle was towed with zero drama, zero attitude, and zero need for a hostage negotiation. Being stuck needing a tow is already stressful enough. The last thing anyone needs is someone treating them like they're trying to smuggle state secrets instead of move a broken vehicle. I sincerely hope Nancy finds the inner peace she's clearly searching for. Until then: DO NOT USE WEST HILLS TOWING. If AAA assigns them, do yourself a favor and request another company immediately. Made an earlier post that I took down because I used the wrong name. I called this morning to ask for help to move/recover a vehicle. I spoke to a woman and she basically told me that it was too big of an issue they wouldn't deal with it. I called back a little later talked to a guy named Oscar who took my information, talked to me about what was going on with my vehicle. He let me know that they were super busy today and pretty free tomorrow but if he could make it happen he would make it happen. I get a call back literally not even 10 minutes later being told that he talked to the other dispatcher(the one from before) and that it was too big of a problem and that they wouldn't be able to help. I had an AMAZING experience with them. My husband's tire blew on his Tesla model 3 blew out and we got a good price and quick service. I called around most places wanted 200-250 plus while they charged only 160. They also originally said 1.5 hours but came in half the time. While others told me 2 plus hours. My driver was Fred who was fast and efficient. He literally got the car up in a minute and got to the tire shop so quickly! I am sooo happy that this is the closest Towing service to me and that they are partnered with AAA. Today, I was helped by Juan, who arrived fast, communicated the whole time, was patient with me while I was on my way to where the car was, and he was polite, friendly, and quick. I've used them many times for towing my family cars to a shop and bought 3 batteries from them which they brought to me and installed. They are always so kind which is important when one feels down or vulnerable because of the car trouble. Their AAA Batteries are cheaper than prices online and AAA covered the installation fee so I feel like I get VIP service because I don't even have to leave my home, they come to you. I've used them for years and the service is always the best. Dispatch calls you right away to make sure they have the information right and assure you of the ETA. They will call with updates also. I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes, they are usually there on 10-30 min but I do live less than a mile away from them and work/errand in the area. The drivers know their way around the neighborhood, are experienced, and they know all the local shop owners so if they need to drop off your car somewhere it's easy! Hands down the worst service company ever! If you're looking for a company to have their techs mis diagnose your vehicle then you came to the right place! Requested battery service at 9pm prior to leaving the country the following morning and was told in 5 minutes from the tech that I had a bad cell. By the way if it was a bad cell then why was I able to start the vehicle right up and drive it to the auto part store?? Although I had all the vehicle information loaded in the AAA system prior to arrival they did not have a replacement battery? It was suggested by the driver to maybe get to a local auto part store asap before they close and pick up a new one? So here I was at 9:45 at night buying a $265 battery and having to dismantle the engine compartment myself to replace! I had no choice since I was under a ton of Stress prior to having to catch a plane the following morning to fly Out of the country. I believed they misdiagnosed it and couldn't wait to follow up on it upon my return. As suspected I had it tested at numerous ASE approved mechanics and have documented paper reports confirming my initial thought. Guess what battery is perfectly fine showing a charge of 12.7 volts! There's no accountability on either AAA or the provider. To make matters worst this is the same service company that claimed that my alternator was bad 2 years prior. I took it to the dealer and they said alternator was fine and that I just needed a new battery? At my discretion or course I had the dealer change the battery and perform other maintenance related items since, well I'm at the dealer, costing me $1600. Understandably that was my choice to have these services performed but at the end of the day this vehicle wouldn't even be at the dealer if I wasn't given yet another false diagnosis! No accountability, No reimbursement for battery, wasted personal labor time and unfortunate thoughts on how many other customers they could be screwing with this poor improper service practice and probably countless mis diagnosing! This isn't rocket science people! I'm in the service industry but not for auto, if this happened within any of my companies I would make it right one way or another! Here both west hills towing and the company I pay annually AAA gets a huge Fail? I feel like I'm paying for an insurance policy that/and when I get into an accident I will be the one that has to pay for the repairs out of pocket including my labor to fix the damage myself? To begin with the dispatch gave the driver the wrong address when I had clearly stated exactly where I was located in Calabasas. The driver calls me blaming me for the wrong address, 2 he shows up with a really bad attitude and says " oh we don't work those lug nuts because they aren't American " The car is a Ford Fusion that's only one ever been touched by the Ford dealership. I understand it's common sense that a flat bed won't go into my garage! However, common sense also says that I can't drive the car on a flat tire without damaging the rim. I wasn't willing to do so. Drivers answer, "nothing I can do, you need to drive into the street!" Common sense would also tell you maybe you can offer to fill the tire temporarily so it can be driven out? Yesterday I visited West Hills Towing to try and help a friend of mine retrieve her car after an accident she was in where the car was wrongly towed to their site. Retrieving it was cost prohibitive for her and my friend has been dealing with a lot of blows lately, including significant problems with her health. The woman working there couldn't have possibly known this, yet she went out of her way to show compassion to my friend and listen to her situation with the car. Sometimes people don't realize the difference they can make in a person's day just by really listening, making them feel heard and seen and showing compassion. This woman (I wish I knew her name) was a lovely human and I appreciated her kindness. I will add that the tow truck operator was also wonderful to work with and a kind and caring person as well. The technician assigned to my call via AAA arrived promptly and secured my car to his flatbed with absolute ease. That said, I called AAA to have my car towed (rather than drive it myself) to my preferred shop because I knew the health of my engine was questionable at best. When your driver arrived I told him "I'd rather not start the car" as to not damage the engine any further than it already is. As I gave him the keys I saw he was intent on driving my car up on the flatbed, and before I could finish "whatever happens is on you", he was in my driver's seat, started up my car and had it in 1st gear. The worst service I've ever had. Asked for a basic battery change and because I had a sound system apparently the screw was too difficult for them to change. Super upset and extremely disappointed considering I used AAA for their service and relied on quality auto technicians to do the work.
