We ordered the peach burrata toast, the fruit wheel and the savory croissant, as well as the saffron latte. Everything was delicious and it's a very cute spot to enjoy. It gets quite busy, so go early!

A cute place for coffee and pastries in Laguna by the beach. I love their drinks and their coffee here is top quality. Tried their seasonal caramelized date cortado and it was incredible!! Food and pastries are average given the price. Some I've tried are not bad but usually lean dry. The coffee cake was a bit dry but not too sweet which I liked. I've had their pretzel which is not bad but a bit dry - would be amazing if dipped in a cheese or mustard sauce. Their breakfast place was great - definitely asked for ketchup on the side but really lovely simple plate served with amazing house bread that was the best thing on the plate. Service is great and everyone is super nice and helpful.

Wow not sure why this only has a 3.8 rating, I loved it here. Parked on the street & found some with no issue but depending on time of day it can get busy. I got the matcha latte with no sweeter & it was one of the best I've had. Also had the potato leek soup which was delicious along with included sourdough bread. We also got a cheese croissant which was so good. Service was fast & friendly. Plenty of seating inside & outside.

This is a cute little bakery with a few tables inside and plenty of outdoor seating, and a front and back entrance. I came across it as I was walking in the area in 2024, and have been here a handful of times since then. It used to be pretty good. I remember ordering the morning bun just because it is one of my favorite items. The morning bun- $6 is 2.5 stars. It is a little bit salty, and it tastes a little stale when it should be a sweeter pastry. It is lacking the crunch like other places I have had it. This time around, I also got their GINGERBREAD MAN COOKIE $7- 4 stars. It was a big, buttery, moist cookie, and the taste of molasses shined through. I was really looking forward to the apple turnover $7- 1 star, but it was the saddest of the bunch. It was very greasy on the outside and the layers fell apart. However, the inside was very dry and salty. The line is long and there is a bit of a wait, but the cashiers are nice. After paying $19 for three pastries, I really hoped they would taste decent. I had to throw the apple turnover away unfortunately because it was not edible. The quality of pastries has gone down. Not sure if they changed bakers or what the case is. I will not be returning.

Laguna Beach, CA Imitation is the best form of flattery. The strawberry jam thumbprint cookie is unique and one I just have not perfected to duplicate at home. Even though it's not a big cookie, it is quite rich and paired with a cup of tea, it is quite delightful to share and enjoy. This is not a typical thumbprint cookie, it's made with butter and a unique blend of flour and brown sugar to make it darker in color than your normal thumbprint cookie. The texture is soft and chewy but hefty and it almost melts in your mouth. I would put this at the top of my list as one of my favorite bakery cookies. The seeded bagel with house green scallion cream cheese is great as well, I forget to ask them to only slice it in half, versus in quarters. I haven't loved everything I've tried here although these seem to be my favorites so far. Service here is very pleasant the staff gets to know you.

I will be honest, I did not know this was in Laguna Beach. We were out walking our dog and stumbled across it in one of the prettier courtyards off of Forest Avenue. There seems to be an entrance on both sides of the building, but we entered from Forest and kind of weave our way past some of the people who are waiting for their food and beverage. Service was friendly and helpful. It was my first time here and we were honestly just getting an iced vanilla latte. The food and bread and bakery items look delicious so we'll definitely come back and try that. Kind of a clean aesthetic, very simple. There's some indoor seating as well as the outdoor courtyard area. Dog friendly. I think our latte was $6.50.

I saw this on someone's TikTok as a recommendation but I definitely will never come back again. Disappointment. 1) There's some sort of flying thing around the food. Thats why they have those fans but it still doesn't prevent it from landing on the bread. 2) parking is street parking and pay with coins. Not too great but would be worth it paying IF it was good. 3) matcha latte had no flavor at all. Probably no sugar. Theres sugar on the side but because i ordered a cold drink it won't melt. 4) smores crossaint was super hard! Overcooked or left outside for way too long

All around best cafe -- from their baked goods to their coffee to the yummy breakfast. We found out about them from the cookies that our local hotel offered guests, and had to try the restaurant! Their selection of baked goods is impressive, and the staff were very friendly. Ordered the Rye Breakfast, latte, and vegetarian nut chocolate chip cookie. Can't wait to go back. Limited indoor seating. Street parking available.

We stopped by Rye Goods in Laguna Beach last weekend and tried the cappuccino. The price was actually pretty good - only around $5. The coffee was kind of average and a little bitter, so it wasn't really our favorite. The service was friendly and the atmosphere felt relaxed and youthful. They also sell fresh bread and pastries, but we only came for coffee this time.

This cafe is so hidden it feels like a reward once you've found it. Walking in, you're greeted by a heavenly aroma of fresh pastries. On a late Sunday afternoon, I was surprised to see the display case still stocked, we were in luck! The order: seasonal blueberry almond snail ($8), chocolate ganache coffee croissant ($7), and the berry refresher ($5.5). What intrigued me most was their sourdough croissant! A combination so new to me I had to try!! I'd recommend enjoying your pastries toasted it brings out the flavors more. The seasonal snail was a twisted sourdough croissant with blueberry and almond paste. Even with the sweetness of fruit and paste, the tanginess of sourdough comes through. The texture is denser, breadlike, and not as buttery as a regular croissant. 4/5 Chocolate coffee croissant was good but nothing crazy it's filled with lots of chocolate, though I couldn't detect much coffee flavor (maybe hidden by all the chocolate). 4/5 Berry Refresher, a blueberry mint hibiscus tea. Leaned on the sweeter side, subtle tea flavor, sadly no taste of mint. 3/5 You can work remotely here as WiFi, indoor and outdoor seating are available. But just know it's quite toasty indoors. Service was friendly and welcoming!

Walked in 10/10 right away - no line, and still had a lot of there pastries and breads left. I got a jalapeño cheddar cheese sour dough bagel and a morning sun coffee. The bagel was perfect, literally ate half then 5 hours later ate the other half and it was perfect. The coffee:( the only place in cali where I was disappointed. Maybe I should have got something different. But it tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereals milk. Lots of seating and quiet and calm area.

A small little breakfast/bakery spot in the busy streets of Laguna. They have indoor and outdoor seating and are a very dog friendly business! The staff are friendly and helpful. However, they do not heat up their pastries because they are baked fresh in the morning. I still would have appreciated my food warmed up if I am dining in. Indoor seating is pretty small, more tailored towards parties of 1 and 2. - sundried tomato bagel sandwich: 6.5/10. The bagel is filled and pretty tasty because of the sundried tomato aioli, but it costed $17!!! which is pretty crazy to me for a very basic and simple bagel. - whipped butter biscuit: 9.2/10. THIS. This was so delicious. I usually don't like biscuits but this was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It was moist inside unlike most biscuits. The whipped butter and seasonal jam filling complemented each other and the biscuit so perfectly. I would come back just for this! - chocolate coffee croissant: 6/10. I was most excited about this, but this was a let down :(. The textures and flavors were lacking. Barely any chocolate or coffee flavor and the croissant was not crispy, more on the chewy side. I would come back because the biscuit was so good and try other pastries/baked goods, but they definitely have some hits and misses.

Such a cozy shop! We came in during the rainy week and it was such a beautiful spot to take cover in! We got a chocolate croissant and latte, both absolutely delicious! There is a good selection of baked goods to choose from as well as lunch options. Cashier gave great recommendations and the line to order was very quick!

Visited the Laguna location. The stars are for the ambiance and service. I was surprised to see all the lunch offerings available and the cooler with fresh eggs and homemade accompaniments. This made me excited about trying their baked goods. The service was very friendly and helpful. That is where my good experience ended. My family ordered 4 different bakery items to enjoy with a cup of coffee at home. We ordered a pop tart (like a hand pie), banana bread, almond croissants and a chocolate cookie. We also ordered coffee beans, which they ground for us. The coffee was pretty good. A medium roast, with good smooth flavor. The baked goods? The whole reason for our stop? The one thing a bakery should do well? They all ended up in the garbage! I felt terrible throwing them in the bin, as they were all very pretty. Clearly someone had worked hard on them. But they were all really terrible tasting. The almond croissant was heavy, had cut up almonds, but no almond taste. The only flavors we picked up were a strong citrus and an herb- maybe sage?? Not like any almond croissant I've ever had, or want to have again. The croissant part was even strangely dense and heavy. The banana bread- something I would consider hard to mess up- was also terrible. It was dry and the taste profile was of old oil. No banana flavor, not mildly sweet even, just oil. The cookie was ok- but texture was dry and the pop tart filling was good- not great- but the crust also tasted of oil- not butter, and who wants to taste oil? I'm not sure if all the locations are this way- I'm not sure how they are still in business if they are- but in my opinion- these bakers need some more education perhaps. Not to mention it is very pricey! I am fine paying a premium for organic baked goods- I prefer organic- so I didn't balk at the prices. But when you pay that amount for goods that were this bad, it is very disappointing. They have a $94 carrot cake and I am curious if it even tastes like carrot cake. read more

Good coffee drinks, good desert selection, friendly service, and a nice patio. They have fresh baked bread, which is too uncommon in the OC/LA area. Plus, for the locals, Whole Foods generally does not have good bread and so can use some healthy competition. read more

Absolutely perfect coffee shop in downtown Laguna. Tucked away in a stunning little plaza. Very peaceful setting. Beautiful aesthetic. Went in this past Monday and ordered their $15 egg bagel sandwich. The massive potato in the center was cold and it kinda ruined the whole sandwich. I didn't take it back because the staff didn't seem that warm or friendly. Will definitely be going elsewhere for breakfast. read more

We've been to this location twice over the past few weeks and had a very mixed experience. The bread was amazing, as expected, we especially loved the jalapeño cheddar loaf and the brioche. We also tried a few pastries which were good as well. The biggest issue we had was the coffee. The cappuccino was very tastey, but the cup wasn't even full and it's very expensive for such little quantity. The coffee the next day was terrible, we got a rose latte. We could barely get through it, it was very sour and acidic, and again it wasn't a full cup. I just don't think a lot of the items were worth the price. The service was rushed and again, I can't justify the price. The location is really nice, ambience was fun. read more

Fabulous organic breakfast. You can have a coffee cake and fluid. Pop tart for breakfast without feeling like you're being late old and sugar. Really great very start making a latte for the gods. I love that they don't use too much sugar and it tastes real. read more

We came in on a hot day and noticed they have no iced coffee drinks on the menu, I asked for a ice coffee drink and the women working looked at me like I asked her to walk across the face of the moon or something. Yeah I'm not sure who is drinking hot coffee in the middle of the summer in California, it's the same process as making a hot coffee you just add ice. Not that difficult hun. read more

Food is amazing, but it's impossible to get through the line. Behind the counter is so disorganized! People give up and leave, which seems to be the only way the line moves. Note to staff: It's not that hard - go to any other cafe and see how they do it. read more

It's rare to find a saffron latte and Rye Goods has it! It was delicious and filling. I'm not a coffee drinker (if I do get one it's decaf) so I really appreciate cafes that offer golden milk (turmeric lattes) and saffron lattes. The bread here is very good as well. read more

The service was amazing on 9/30/23 . We came at 6:30pm and the young lady who was working the register was awesome and so sweet and kind to us. This was our first time at this location but have been to the other two (Tustin/Newport) ones. This one I Love the evening options and the baked goods are amazing and love that they are all organic. This location would make a great date night. All need to enjoy organic sweet baked goods done right. read more

I had a bad experience this morning at Rye Goods. I am a local. When I walked in at 9 AM there was a long line. I went to the pre-made foods cooler, grabbed a fruit bowl and went directly to the cash register. There was one employee who was very nice and asked if he could help me and I told him I just wanted to pay for my fruit cup and he opened the second register and I was just about to leave the the main employee at the open register (where there was a long line of people waiting to place orders) told me that I should have waited in that long line to pay. This is not a good policy and a nice way to treat customers...especially locals who are trying to support you after the tourist season. As a result I will NOT be going back to Rye goods at any time in the near future. read more

Their seasonal tart was delicious! Unfortunately, the latte I got for my husband was undrinkable. Not sure what was off, he thought maybe their machine hadn't been cleaned in a bit. Unfortunately, we had driven away before my husband took a sip, it was really hot when we picked it up, so we weren't able to do anything about it, or allow Rye to do anything about it. But the seasonal tart with cherries was really really good. read more

The staff is super friendly here and the pastries I've tried so far are great! The hand pies are delicious!, not too sweet but still satisfying! Get in here and try this place. Hopefully they will extend the lunch menu to go throughout the entire day. Try the grilled cheese...buttery brioche bread with white cheddar and mint pesto and pickled blueberries! read more

Obsessed! Yes to everything that this bakery makes. I have never had a bad experience, and now I am so grateful for the restaurant version in Laguna Beach. Also very delicious coffee. Great new addition to Laguna! Finally somewhere local where you can sit down and have a glass (or bottle ) of natural, organic wine! This place is tucked away by the post office and the vibes are so cozy and great. Coffee is definitely the best in town, but the real star of the show is the bread and pastry selection. Even just the bread with some butter is amazing!! Excited for the summer, this will be a good place to stop in after the beach to have some dinner and wine with friends. Riley at the counter was super nice and friendly and helped me pick out some deli items to bring to my friends - the pasta and baguette sandwiches were a hit!! read more

THEY MADE ME REDISCOVER GREAT FOOD!! I came after a friend recommended me to try them and I am so glad I did. Their peach croissant is sooooo good. Not too sweet, they let the fruit do the talking instead of the sugar. their avocado toast is amazing. bread wasnt too tough for me to eat which was a win for me since I have braces. their coffee is also VERY good. I recommend the maple rosemary. it's to die for. overall, I am super happy with the quality ingredients they use for their food. Definitely a place worth getting breakfast. Their service too was great. i felt very welcomed and when they made an error (made my food for here instead of to go) they were very professional and super nice. Place is a bit small but it gives cozy vibes. Love it. read more

Ive been to the Newport location that was very good. This one had sad ambience.. very dark like no lights were on. We ordered the coffee chocolate croissant and the almond croissant. They both were stale as though they were baked days ago. The almond croissant tasted like full blown lemons. Idk if it was sitting next to a lemon cake or was baked next to it... but it was full blown lemon flavor. read more

Absolutely awful. We got an Americano and an iced coffee with Almond milk-both undrinkable. The plain bagel was hard as a rock similar to a hockey puck. From a truck to a garage to The Hood to our brick and mortar in Lido Village. Rye Goods took off as a small gang of underground bakers using their passion for sourdough to turn a garage into a bakery. Our love for fermentation grew -- as did our team & our community. Between bread, pastry & deli, our menu is crafted with the intention to feed our community well. To offer the highest quality food that was grown organically by local farmers and prepared by our team. We celebrate life by means of good food no matter the season. The proving dough and the colorful local produce grown filling our fridges, all the walks of life we get to see coming to enjoy our food, it is such a beautiful place, this world of ours.

While waiting for dinner, the aroma of marijuana drifted across the dining area. (I know they can't control what happens outside their establishment.) the deck is roped off because apparently it's unsafe and could fall off at any moment in addition to the rotting floor. The food: The menu is underwhelming. I ordered the chicken with sun-dried tomato risotto and vegetables. The risotto was undercooked and flavorless, and the chicken was also lacking flavor. I sampled the New York steak with mashed potatoes--the steak was cooked well, but the potatoes were cold. We didn't even bother ordering dessert and went elsewhere instead.

This was the first time at a Rye Goods location. The layout was a bit odd but we were the only ones ordering at the time so it didn't bother us at all. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was extremely fresh! I love that the menu items were familiar but had such a different twist to them - not to mention absolutely delicious. We were able to snag a table in the courtyard too which was so nice! Only weird thing was that I ordered a vanilla latte and when the server brought it to me, he mentioned they were out of vanilla and apologized but then set the coffee down and left. He didn't ask if that was okay or offer something else - just left me with a drink I didn't order. Overall, I think this spot has great potential and we will definitely be back to try more things from the menu. read more

BEWARE OF THE SERVICE CHARGE They add a 12% service charge to every transaction. You don't have a choice and they say "it's a tip for the employees" Well they should be paying their employees more at the prices they charge for their pastries. It's not the customer's responsibility nor should be an expectation to be paying an additional charge when they're buying a croissant. I have cut back the amount I purchase from Rye Goods due these additional charges. Other than their silly service charge, they're the best baked goods and food items you can't get in Orange County. I wish I could give them 5 stars, but the tipping expectations are out of hand. read more

Unfortunately, my experience at this café was very disappointing. The coffee was cold and not tasty, and the pastries were burned, dry, and unpleasant. On top of that, the service was very slow and unprofessional, even just for coffee. Considering the poor quality, the prices were extremely high.
