This is located on the beach so street parking can be iffy esp on weekends. I was able to walk in and get a table immediately on Friday. I got a house drink and the wood fired fish with veg. Both were made well. Only problem with the dish was the seasoning, so heavy on the salt. But the cook was perfect, fall off the fork tender. Vibes are chill and they have outdoor gardenish seating too if indoor or bar seating isn't appealing or it's a hot day. read more

Real wood-fired Pizza, scrumptious! The rest.... Meh. We had the Fig & Feta Crostini, the Persimmon and Pear Salad, Sicilian Cauliflower, and a Sausage Pizza. Wine: A Super Tuscan and a Grenache. Fig Crostini: Bread was nicely charred in the best way. But, the fig jam was too cloyingly sweet, even with the Feta. No balance. Needed a sprinkling of coarse salt or berries to cut the sweetness. Presentation was meh, someone spread Fig jam on toast, sprinkled some Feta and called it a day. For $19, do better. The Salad: Thrown together, no real flavor of the fruit coming through. No contrast. Dressing was insipid, bottled is my guess. Disappointing. The Cauliflower: nicely charred, hot, and nice spice level. Small amount for a "shareable." Service was fine, if uninspired. Hostess only gave us one menu. Was provided another on request. Water filled often. Never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. This establishment is really cute! On the outside seems very lovely and it's even nicer on the inside. It felt ever inviting and relaxing at the same time. It is on PCH which gets busy with the incoming cars, but parking is available around there. Fortunately, my friend and I were able to get a parking right dead center in front of this restaurant. This was my first time here. We did call ahead of time to make a reservation and once we arrived, we spoke with the hostess (didn't catch name) but she was so sweet and kind. She escorted us to our table. We were then given one sided menus containing all their food items and wine/ beer selections. My friend and I were craving beer and pizza. I had ordered a beer-Modelo. They served it in a glass which I liked. My friend ordered one of their IPAs. I don't remember the name of the one she ordered but she liked it and had another. We had ordered their Krunchy Kale Salad ($18.50) & that has in it: a kale/arugula crunch mix, cucumbers, radish, tomato, walnuts, blueberries, feta, mimosa vinaigrette. (Devoured so Saint get the entire photo) It was SUPER yummy!! We also had ordered one of their Wood Fire Pizzas. Sausage pizza and added pepperoni to it. It was delicious and hit the spot for our cravings. If you want to take a party, maybe 6 in your party would be fine; the restaurant is not entirely massive but fits a fine bunch inside. Holiday Happy Hour! I met up with my friend for happy hour last Thursday for some pre-Christmas drinks and we sat on the patio. The heaters warmed us up and it had a cozy atmosphere. We ordered the house red wine, pizza of the night and the meatballs. Happy hour prices were reasonable and cut off around 6 pm - so if that's what you're going here for make sure you get your order in early. The meatballs were moist and served with just enough sauce! They also came with 3 slices of bread. Only thing that would have made this better is if the bread was toasted a little. Otherwise this was a great mini meal. It felt wrong not ordering a wine from the menu because there were so many options and they all looked amazing but the happy hour Spellbound was perfect! I did not have the pizza but it was a decent size for the price - I would try that next time or their burger or their short rib ravioli or let's be real - their short rib tacos. A wonderful wine pairing prix fixe dinner last night for New Year. Chris & his staff provided perfect personalized service all evening. Opening gratis Prosecco was followed by an Amuse bouche of caviar on toast, then a delicious leek/lardos soup, next a healthy & savory Mediterranean chopped salad, our party of three chose one of the three entrees offered: halibut [yummy], lobster ravioli [very rich], hangar steak [tasty but too tough], and a decadent chocolate cake dessert. We sat at the bar since our reservations were last minute due to our garage door breaking in the afternoon, but it was just right since we got to interact with ebullient bartender, Courtney, and watch the chef[s] at work. I have been to Wine Gallery many times and I have never been disappointed. I decided to see if I could get a reservation on New Years Eve. I was able to get in even though it was fully booked. We were given the opportunity to sit at the bar which we were happy to do. Courtney was our bartender/server and she was so fun to talk to. Sitting at the bar really gives opportunity to chat to other people also seated at the bar which makes the experience even more fun. There was a prix fixe dinner available with an optional wine pairing. The dinner began with caviar on toast, followed by a delicious leek soup, then by a really nice salad. The main course was a choice of lobster ravioli, hangar steak or halibut. We had three people in our group, so we got one of each and we were not disappointed by any of them, except that the hangar steak was a little tough but still very tasty. Finally there was a delicious chocolate cake for dessert. Chris the owner, was engaging with all of the customers as he poured wines and delivered each course. Loved this little spot in Laguna! We went for me and my boyfriend's anniversary and it was a great experience. We visited without a reservation on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us even though it was pretty full. The vibes were really nice, lots of conversation flowing, and the wine list was pretty varied. We ordered some wings, the caprese burrata and a margherita pizza. They also gave us a complimentary brownie for the occasion--so sweet. All of the food was delicious and the staff was really friendly and helpful despite how busy it was. It did take a little while for the food to come out, but we expected that. We were happy overall with the experience. It wasn't too hard to find street parking and the restaurant is about a block from the ocean if you want to take a walk with a view before or after your meal. Went here on a date night for desserts and wine, after seeing really good reviews. We came at around 8:30 pm and were seated promptly at a nice little table that was a little bit away from all the noise thankfully! There were a good handful of larger open tables (like 4 top tables) but we got a nice 2-top belly up tables by the window. We asked for wine recs to pair with our creme brûlée and our waiter asked the owner for us. The creme brûlée wasn't as custardy or smooth as it should have been, definitely was cooked previously before being heated up but substantial parts of it had a more mealy texture. Still was very flavorful and it was made with real vanilla bean in it. The crust was more sticky than crisp, which you usually have a delicate sugar crust. But again, still flavorful! Topped with fresh berries, it quite was a generous portion for $10 each, and we were pretty satisfied!! Pours for a glass were generous too! Chris, the owner, came by our table to greet us at the end, and he was just very nice. It's such a warm touch to be approached by and speak with the owner at these small businesses. It really makes you feel like your patronage means something to them! There are so many yummy sounding food options we will have to try in the future. The food is pricier than we usually go for, for a date night ($47 for their scallops dinner, I think around $42 for their pistachio pesto fettuccine, can't remember their other specials) but I imagine the quality and flavor is top notch; the aroma of the wine bar smelled incredible!!!! Their kitchen is in close proximity right with the bar itself, so the smells wafted right up to drinkers. read more

I've been to this cute little romantic spot twice now, happy I came back to give it another shot! Our second visit we got the Caesar salad, franks wings, the short rib ravioli and the Chilean seabass. The Chilean seabass was on a bed of greens and roasted veggies - the roasted veggies were phenomenal and the fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Caesar was proper, dressing was killer and produce was fresh, croutons were the best I've ever had. The wings came in a huge portion and thank god because they were amazing. The house-made ranch was the Cherry on-top. Everything was incredible, but the ravioli was simply outshone by the other dishes. I feel it was just missing some fresh Parmesan and maybe some fancier mushrooms. It still was tasty though. Our waitress was absolutely lovely. Chris - the owner - was there when we visited last and he was very engaged with all the guests and staff, it's wonderful to see a restaurant owner who is present and invested in an excellent dining experience. My girlfriend and I happened to be staying nearby since we were evacuated from our homes due to the recent fires.....and so brought my girlfriend here for an early birthday dinner, and so glad we got to try this place. Just in case, I had made a reservation for an outdoor patio table, showed up a bit early, but were immediately attended to by a very nice young lady who led us to the back patio. Wow.....what a cute back patio, felt so cozy, homey, and had a nice vibe to the space....great for hanging out with friends for happy hour drinks and food..... and heat lamps available for a cool night's dining. I guess the only minor annoyance was that despite being hidden at the back, away from the main road, you can still hear quite a bit of traffic noise. Service and food was very good.....servers wore masks....and were very nice, friendly, and attentive. We decided to share everything so ended up ordering the clay oven baked Funghi pizza and special pizza of the day....I think arugula with tomato and goat cheese (?), the roasted Brussel sprouts, and an order of the truffle fries....highly recommended by our server. All this with a couple glasses of cabs.....yummee! Loved those pizzas with the perfectly baked crusts and fresh ingredients. But those truffle fries.....we just wanted to try them, but weren't planning on finishing them. As it turned out, they were so good and so addictive that they were the first to go! The Brussel sprouts were good too, but we ordered the bacon on the side so as to reduce the saltiness of the veg.....still delicious without it. All in all a very good dinner/happy hour experience here...loved the delicious food, wonderful service, and pleasantly comfortable ambiance. Went to Wine Gallery on Saturday May 18th for happy hour which is from 4:30 to 5:30pm. We made a reservation at 5pm and we ordered everything before 5:30. Had a great experience previously for regular dinner time. First time for happy hour. Their pizza of the day was amazing and delicious and their pizzas are great! I recommend you try it. I'm giving one star even though the food was amazing. At last when I was paying the bill, shockingly, the waiter Brian, who is a very nice gentleman, ruined the night. I had all happy hour prices on the receipt except one pizza which was incorrectly charged as full price. I approached him very nicely. He was like well you ordered after 5:30pm I'm sorry and there is nothing I can do and walked away. I was surprised and my partner was surprised how he responded to us like this. I was very upset and embarrassed because we wanted to come here again but we feel like they accused us of lying. He never told us "last call" at all and we felt that we got taken advantage of and robbed by that server since we ordered everything before happy hour ended. After we left we decided to call and spoke to a very nice gentleman the general manager and he fixed it and refunded us without any troubles. I think I won't be back after we got lied to and experienced dishonesty from our server named Brian. I recommend you check your receipt before paying. read more
