This café has really gone downhill over the past year. I brought my mom here for Mother's Day yesterday, and the experience was honestly uncomfortable from the start. While taking our order, the gentleman at the counter never once looked me in the eye. Instead, he kept staring and smiling off into the distance at something outside, even though there didn't seem to be anything there. It made the entire interaction feel very strange and awkward for all of us. To make matters worse, the drinks we ordered, which were very simple, were all disappointing. It's frustrating because this used to be a place I came to regularly and genuinely enjoyed. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't plan on coming back and wouldn't recommend it to others anymore. read more

This place is the best. Nicest staff in Laguna and nicest breakfast spots on a Saturday after the farmer's market. My favorite dish is the eggs anna as it comes. My group also got the waffle and the eggs napoleon and they loved it. Just updating my previous review. This time sat down to eat instead of take out. Outdoors was modestly decorated. Service was fast, we got our food quickly. This place is so cute! They have great breakfast options and the staff is very friendly. This is a wonderful community cafe for locals. It caters especially well to regulars who want a community spot as the customers are friendly and the staff is welcome and create an atmosphere that invites but doesn't require people to start up conversations with each other. Those just interested in the food will be very happy with both their mainstay crowd pleasers and their own unique takes on common breakfast dishes. The unique oatmeal is a must try too. I'm Laguna Beach resident for over 45 years. I own a shop in town and some of my customers had told me that the Anastasia was a great place for pastries and breakfast. So this morning I decided to stop by take a look. I ordered a croissant to take home for my breakfast to test The croissant was incredibly disappointing. It was heavy dense and actually raw inside. I ended up throwing it away. He charged me five dollars for that croissant. I will not recommend that place to anyone I gave it two stars just because it's a cute place read more

You can come here for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday and sit right on down. I have been ordering the chicken penne with artichokes as of late. It comes out piping hot and stays that way for quite awhile. The sauce is great too. The Eggs Laguna is an artistic creation and is awesome. Lattes are consistently rich and delicious. There are several servers that are highly attentive. It is unlikely that a completed dish will remain on the table long. Even though most of the tables are outside, somehow they do a good job keeping the flys and other obnoxious insects from helping themselves. read more

Been to this place a couple of times and enjoyed it each time. You queue to order and pay and they bring your order to your table. Staff are nice and they go around checking if you're okay or need anything at good intervals during your meal. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It's almost always a lovely day at Laguna Beach and so it's nice to eat al fresco. They have a covered outdoor area and they also have little tables outside with umbrellas. Today I had Eggs Laguna which I managed to finish all by myself. Nice combo of poached eggs, avocados, basil, toast, tomatoes and seasonal fruit (it's cantaloupe this time). My husband had the Anastasia omelette which he also enjoyed. He ordered a side of toast with it. For drinks we had iced tea and freshly squeezed orange juice. One of My Go-To Spots--Especially in Fall This is definitely one of the places my friends and I like to frequent. I especially love coming here when the weather starts to turn in the fall--when there's a little nip in the air. Sitting outside and feeling that Laguna Beach breeze while having brunch is honestly one of my favorite things to do. Saturdays after the farmers market, this place does get a little packed--just something to note. I usually order the eggs off the menu. I've tried the Swedish pancakes, but they were a little too sweet for my taste. I personally prefer their omelet options, and I definitely recommend the huevos rancheros--it's one of my go-tos here. We stopped in here for an early lunch and decided to split a Caesar salad and a pizza. I have never had a Cesar salad with tomato's on it before, and the dressing was not traditional Caesar so that also caught us off guard. It tasted good, just wasn't what we were expecting! The pizza was nothing special. It had a thin crust and it tasted good as well. Our friend got the chicken panini and said hit was incredible. The gentleman behind the country was not-not friendly, but as we explored the menu he wasn't much help either. The bus boys though were awesome!! Solid standard brunch place in the OC. Loved the diverse array of breakfast selections offered, the presentation of the dishes and the sidewalk seating. My only gripe was the prosciutto chosen for my dish. It was rather rubbery and tough. Definitely, not the same quality of prosciutto I'm used to purchasing. However, I found the slices of cantaloupe a nice addition to the dishes. Another thing I liked about this place especially, is that the staff is friendly and attentive to one's needs. However, even with that Anastasia does not rate 5 stars: 1) The coffee is dreadful -- tastes like watered down Sanka. 2) We asked if we could "sub out" potatoes for their fruit "on the side" and was charged without telling us there wound an extra charge. 3) "Fruit on the side" was not a side dish of fruit but literally fruit on the side OF THE PLATE! -- More like garnish than much of any fruit to speak of. I've been coming here for years and this is my first review so shame on me for not posting sooner but last weekend I had the tuna fish sandwich special and it was hands down the best tuna sandwich I've ever had. Thin slice of tomato, perfectly ripe avocado, added cheddar cheese and a delicious mix of tuna on toasted sourdough. After the wife enjoyed a massage at a nearby location we found this cafe sitting in one of the many small side streets that comprise the artsy and boutique city. Anastasia was a nice quiet spot to have a brunch as it's nestled in on one of the many small side streets that make up central Laguna. We had three items: the Swedish pancake (light and fluffy but a pancake that is a pancake), the Anastasia omelette (a well balanced and overall satisfying dish), and the Salmon Benedict (a large portion with a plentiful amount of fish). And for those that are seeking establishments that will not break the bank this one is still relatively affordable considering the high end locale. A popular brunch spot in Laguna Beach, vibes over food. The wait was incredibly long (you order then you seat yourself) but the food took 30+ mins to prepare. I got the poached eggs over veggies, but both of my eggs were poached! One was actually overdone (yikes!) My friend also said her bread was soggy and the prosciutto is just cut up ham...? The servers are soooo kind and friendly so make sure to leave a tip for their service! More of a restaurant that I would come for the ambiance rather than the food. read more
