Wow! This is my second time going to Oak and I have nothing but good things to say. The owner is so kind and truly cares about the customer experience. I went for my birthday dinner but didn't tell him until the end and he insisted I sit back down for dessert (which was delicious by the way) overall I recommend, if not just fit the food but to support this amazing owner.

Celebrated Mother's Day brunch at Oak Laguna Beach and overall had a nice experience. We made a 10 AM reservation through OpenTable and were seated right away, which was appreciated on such a busy holiday morning. The staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout our visit, and the patio seating offered beautiful views. We tried the Eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, breakfast skillet, Italian chopped salad, and the French fries appetizer. While everything was good, the food itself felt fairly basic considering flavor and serving size. Service was a bit slow when it came to receiving both our food and the bill, although it definitely started getting much busier around 10:30-11 AM because of the holiday crowd, so that likely played a role. One thoughtful touch was the complimentary heart-shaped chocolate dessert they gave moms for Mother's Day, such a sweet gesture. All in all, we're glad we gave it a try, but will probably explore some other nearby brunch spots next time we're in Laguna Beach.

Came back and was pretty disappointed. It seems as if the one waiter is also the bartender. He was so awesome but that's horrible management. I felt so bad for the guy. The food also took so long because I bet they are short staffed in the back. We got raw ceviche and raw ahi tacos so it shouldn't have taken long. Food was good, as always though.

Haven't been here in a while and as always trying something new. I've had their calamari before so you known had to get that again. I liked the Ajillo shrimp it was delicious! The flavors were savory and I loved how it came with slices of bread to dip into the soup I was where the shrimp was nicely placed and with the side of semi-spicy thinly sliced carrots. It was a perfect crunch there. I ordered their Berry Spritz. Watching my intake of Alcohol, but that was very refreshing; a bit tart but perfect blend altogether. Our server was attentive and fast with our food and drinks. My friend and I did reserve a spot ahead of time which I think is best to do. As always, the overlook of the ocean from where we sat is beautiful and the establishment is always neat, clean and organized. I love the vibe here. So cheerful.

I didn't see that mimosa special anymore. It was pretty dead when we went on a Saturday for brunch. We split the chilaquiles, French toast and chicken pesto sandwich. Everything was good but nothing was amazing . I wish the chilaquiles would have had more short rib on top. My favorite part was actually the truffle fries

Hosted my graduation party here and it went great! Tony (the owner) was very helpful in organizing the details with me in advance, clearly communicating, and accommodating my party requests (decor, bringing custom cake, turning off music for special toast, reserving our table of 20 with great ocean view). He even created a custom menu upon my selections and the food was delicious as always!

I'd recommend a reservation. Dinner was fantastic, had their kale & Brussels salad with blackened chicken and the flavor was great. I tried some of my husband's sea bass and it was very good. Great spot for a date.

Our whole family enjoyed the food and especially the service! We went for my daughter's bday and it was perfect! The view on the deck was beautiful too.

Tomato soup with grilled cheese was so good and we also got the artichoke Alfredo with shrimp.

We parked across the street and it looked like a nice place. The owner, Tony, greeted us at the door, brought us waters and checked on us throughout our meal. He was so kind and our food was so delicious.

Amazing food, fantastic service, and the perfect ambiance. Every part of my experience at Oak was exceptional. The Oak Burger was hands down the best burger I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and worth coming back for on its own. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and made us feel genuinely appreciated from the moment we arrived. Even the little details stood out, like validating our parking, which made it even more convenient and enjoyable. Honestly, 5 stars doesn't feel like enough for this restaurant. Oak absolutely exceeded expectations, and I can't wait to come back.

Sunday morning people watching on the balcony with no wait to seat. A relaxing way to spend time with the significant other. Not to mention Holland's fantastic drink making skills. We only had the chance to try the fried chicken and waffles which were fried to perfection.

Food was delicious! Our server was great and the service was quick. I personally loved the pasta and the burger. We also got the ahi tuna tacos and those were great. Also loved how the owner was right at the front when we got seated and said hello and also asked us how our food was when we were leaving. Great place we will have to come back and try next time we are in Laguna!

    Ask the Community - Oak

Do you have a Sunday happy hour? Times of yea?

We don’t. Happy hours are Monday- Friday from 3-6pm.

    Are they dog friendly?

Unfortunately due to being on the second level and above another restaurant, we only allow service animals and law enforcement animals.

Are there tvs in anywhere to watch a game?

Have you tried calling 949-940-3010 to find Out?

    Where is the entrance?

Up the stairs and to the left.

    Is there a children's menu?

They have food for children and it being on a printed specific menu I don't know. I fed my 2 year old their food

Are you open on Christmas Day?

Oak is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day so our employees can enjoy the holiday with their families.

What are the vegan options for dinner?

    To see fx

How do I make a reservation?

I made a reservation on the Open Table ap.

What time is brunch on Sundays? From 10am until?

Brunch is Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 3pm.

Where is the best parking for the restaurant?

Good afternoon Donald. We have underground parking that is free. We validate up to 2 hours.

I can't access the menu's on their actual web page, wondering what Happy Hour is? and lunch/dinner/brunch but can't reach any of them. Can you post or provide? Thanks!

Our website has all of our current menus uploaded and can be accessed from the Home page.

    Is there Dog friendly restaurant?

No, this is a new establishment.

Is there an industry night here?

    Not at this time.

Do they have a patio for dogs?

They do have a patio outside. For dogs? Not sure. But it is Laguna Beach, so I would assume they do allow dogs yes.

Is there a mandatory tip added to the bill?

There wasn't to mine but it was just a party of 2, I would shoot them a call or msg and check if you've got a large party.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Sorry Nadia, I am unaware because patio is actually on the second floor so it's more like a balcony rather than patio. extension of the indoors.

How much $ should I bring for a date?

$80-$100 for 2 people with just food orders. If you add drinks then the price will jump up pretty quick.

Food comes out a little slow, something to keep in mind when parking. We ordered most of the menu and loved almost every bite! Standouts were: - Bone marrow: pairs perfectly with the crispy toast. Shrimp was super tender and buttery, so much good juice coming out of the head too. Great with the bread. - Pork belly and scallops: cooked perfectly and very nice with that white sauce. - Octopus ceviche: very fruity. I get it, for some cocktails it's not the norm, but I happen to be one of those people who love to swirl every drink in a bunch of ice. I've never once had this request turned down. Perhaps a raised eyebrow or two from a bartender but again, never a refusal. Until tonight. The drink was wonderful. Even complimented the bartender on it, but after asking twice.. politely by the way, he still refused. We took advantage of the Friends and Family menu they provide on Mondays Only from 5:00 to closing. We sat at the beautiful bar and were watched over by Jacob. The wife had some special non-alcoholic drink that was very pretty and tasted great. I went with the VACA Tonic, an icy concoction made with gin. It was super refreshing and a nice way to start. This menu has selected tapas items that range in price from $8 to $19. We ordered the Pan Con Tomate ($8) which comes with sliced toasted bread slices, tomato pulp, a delicious olive oil and a side of sea salt. You take a piece of toast, squirt some of the olive oil on top, then pour on the tomato pulp. Light, tasty and delicious. Next up, the Patatas Bravas ($9). Perfectly roasted spicy potato cubes, slathered with tomato sauce and a garlic aioli. WOW! So simple yet so good. I licked the plate clean. Next up, the Bikini Sandwich ($9). Two small perfectly toasted cheesy sandwich wedges that have Iberico ham, manchego cheese and a hint of truffles. It was really delicious and the special ham was the star of the show. These are great starting items, yet surprisingly filling. I couldn't stop there though and wanted to order some of their famous paella. I decided on the Paella De Carne ($53). This is a meat paella with pork belly, chorizo, blood sausage, duck confit (a leg & thigh), beef cheek, with bomba rice and a garlic aioli. You have to wait about 20 minutes for them to make it but it's worth the wait. It was perfectly cooked and awash in flavor. The special paella pan they prepare the dish in looked well seasoned and I wished I could have taken it home. The menu is extensive with lots of choices to accommodate any palate. The restaurant is beautiful and has a front and back patio seating. If you have a choice, sit on the back patio. There is valet parking for $12, but there is a parking structure right across the street that provides easy access and is free with validation.

The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a beautiful design that strikes a nice balance between upscale and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy a leisurely meal. We started with the roasted bone marrow, which was pure indulgence. I spread that rich, nutty, buttery goodness over the crispy toast points, and every bite was better than the last. Next came the prawns. The chefs did an outstanding job highlighting the natural umami from the shrimp head before the sweetness of the corn and shallots blended perfectly with the tender, succulent shrimp. It was a dish that kept evolving with every bite. The smoked short rib was the star of the meal. I asked for the sauce on the side, but it was clear the meat had already been cooked sous vide with the sauce, allowing those deep, savory flavors to fully penetrate every bite. The result was an incredibly tender short rib that practically melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious. From the welcoming ambiance to the thoughtfully executed dishes, Fable and Spirit delivered a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be making a return visit the next time I'm in the area.

The food was incredible, my husband surprised me with this place so I had no idea what to expect, and every single bite was phenomenal. I can't believe I've never heard of Darkroom, as this is exactly my favorite type of restaurant. Chef owned, seasonal menu, cool service, rad vibes. Hard to find this combo anywhere, especially Orange County. I look forward to being a regular here.

It was well balanced and the best dish of the night. The scrambled egg agnolotti was delicious as well and was paired with a savory slightly sour sauce what helped with the heaviness. The bad: We were recommended the house made focaccia to dip into the steak sauce but it was served 15 minutes before the steak came out so was cold by the time we needed it. The biggest disappointment of the night was the $29 tuna crudo. We should have taken the description by face value: tuna, tomato water, vanilla nori oil (we thought this might be the flavor but we were wrong. It was just oil), passion fruit. It quite literally tasted like oily tuna in plain water with passion fruit seeds floating around. The passion fruit overwhelmed the flavor profile. There was so little tuna for the steep price (like 3 sashimi pieces chopped up). It wasn't even a high quality cut. Even if it wasn't, the flavor of the tuna was somehow completed sapped - leaving just the texture. The overall pricing for the menu was very steep with small portion sizes but at least the other plates we had actually tasted good. We also appreciated the complimentary dessert that was given for my fiancés bday. The service was great as well. Looking at previous reviews, it seems that the experimental dishes are either a hit or miss

The restaurant is located in Santa Ana Downtown; it is a town that is pretty rundown. Many retail locations are closed, and the area is not as hype as before. You can see homeless people just hanging out nearby. Once we walked in, the place is well-decorated with unique pieces of Asian decor. There is a DJ area and towards the back of the restaurant is a large size Bar. The Menu has a combination of Southeast Asian dishes, and some Japanese skewers. We ordered a bunch of skewers and a cold appetizer. Everything came out perfect. The flavors were exciting and the meats from the skewers were tender and full of flavor. Loved the scallops. The Hanger Steak was so tender as well. This place really exceeded my expectations. The dishes are unique in flavor and portions were adequate. All the dishes hit the spot. We will definitely be back to dine again.

I love their passion and enthusiasm, starting with their "freshest bread". The oven-to-plate brioche is a signature starter that reflects their values, their commitment to getting you the freshest food they can. The Greenest Salad goes so well with this, and all the veggies taste like they were just picked from the field. They procure many top-notch ingredients, and most of the preparation is simple so the food can speak for itself. My favorites from that night include the Mussels Croquetas which had beautiful bits of shellfish and a cream sauce that was to die for. They also made the first Paella I've ever liked, and their Lamb is the most delicious I've ever tasted. There is a dessert that I hope they never stop serving. The Kougin Amman ice cream sandwich is a genius pairing, especially because they just might make the best pastry in the world. I love the up close and personal approach, and the ingredients are incredible. A fun little splurge if you're in the area.

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

The upstairs host Kori was amazing. She was bubbly, kind and super helpful. Now to our waitress, there was a bit to be desired there. My wife felt like with each thing she asked for she was bothering her. ( I will omit her name out of kindness, she may have been dealing with something personal and having a bad day. ) Now to the food. The Drinks, my wife's Paloma was delicious. I had a Makers 46 neat. Very basic whiskey selections but it was good. Our appetizer, the Artichoke dip came out to us tepid after 20 minutes of waiting for it and the chips borderline stale. I had the Bo Burger, the pork belly and aioli carried it. Fries were ok. My wife had chicken milanese it was fantastic, she just had to request extra sauce. Coke Zeros were flat, we sent them back. So my wife had a Proseco and she enjoyed that. Upon putting in the reservation I stated it was my wife's birthday, Kori even asked we told her and I'm pretty sure it was relayed to the serve who said nothing and didn't inquire whether we wanted dessert or offer anything. My wife asked for a box, she put the box on the table and walked away. We had to ask a busser for a bag and a cup for her sauce. He was very sweet, he filled our waters and asked if we needed anything else. The restaurant charges a 5% fee for the team, you can decline it. We didn't. I even still gave the server a respectable tip. Sadly she could have received twice as much because I used to serve when I was much younger. My wife is a Dorector in the Hospitality industry and she loves giving extra. I understand the struggle but if she was as charismatic as Kori she could make more and really add to the restaurant. Needless to say we will not make the hour and 15 minute drive again.
