I want to start off by saying that the service was great! I believe it was the owner who took my order. She was so nice and attentive. I went on a random Thursday to do some work. The location is super tiny but they have WiFi and I was able to sit inside. I asked for recommendations since it was my first time, she recommended the cinnamon latte since I don't like strong coffee. It was okay - when I saw the color I was worried. I tried it and it was just okay. I could taste the cinnamon but it seemed watered down. I think what stole the show was the biscoff croffle that I got. It was the perfect sweet treat. Overall, I liked the snacks better than the coffee. I would come back to try their matcha as I saw people order it and the color was giving what it needed. I also wanna try their bear mochi waffles, so I would come back but not for coffee.

This is a good spot to stop by before heading to the beach! It's located perfectly on PCH. They are Filipino owned and have a lot of Asian inspired flavors. We tried two drinks and they were both so vibrant in color. The croffle was amazing, one of the best that I've ever had and it's definitely a must get. The workers are super nice and gave us good recommendations. ig: @cravingswithcat

This was a nice cozy spot right on PCH. Finding parking is difficult but thats in all of Laguna Beach lol. Service was great, everyone was welcoming and they were all hustling, it was quite busy. Me and wife got the Spicy Bean Signature Flight & the Ceremonial Matcha Flight. My wife loved all the matcha especially the mango one, they all had fresh fruit in them. Im not much of a matcha guy but they were actually all pretty damn good. I didnt get too much of the grassy flavor I usually get when I try matcha. The signature flight was also good, the foams were fireee. The mochi bears were a lil bit expensive but they were good for a quick lil snack. We are forsure coming back here soon

I can't wait to go back to The Spicy Bean Lab. I got the Blueberry Cheesecake Croissant and the Black Sesame Oat Latte, and both were so good!! The staff were very helpful, and the shop was cute and well-kept. I'm already dreaming about that Blueberry Cheesecake Croissant and Black Sesame Oat Latte. I wish we had one in North County San Diego.

Spicy? Yes! But not the kind of Spicy as you would If I was to emphasize it with an "e" Spiceey. In a good way. In a way that the true spice here is In the quality and the essence of the drinks. If you aren't necessarily the coffee snob type, or even if you are, or just want to rid yourself from the chains or mom and pops's use of syrups or loaded sugar, then this is the place. The vibe here is how i like my coffee. Simple, great ingredients, natural and pure. So how good is the coffee? I've never seen my wife, who has coffee daily, finish a cup as long as I've known here...until yesterday. Normally she has a few sips and she is done. The staff member gave me a full explanation of how they source their coffee, how they create their flavors. It was a welcome introduction. I opted for the black sesame Matcha, since I've been on such a Matcha binge recently and havent come across this concoction yet. It was a hit! The flavors worked well together. Also got a Lavender Vanilla cold brew and was surprising how unsweetened it was. unsweetened Also picked up a Red Bean and Ube Waffle (shaped like a bear) and my wife had those gone in 60 seconds. I never was able to try it. Parking is right outside, as it's on the main drag across from the beach. Can't beat the fix coming back from a good surf sesh or a day at the sand. Prices were extremely reasonable (if even on the cheap side) for the quality you get (Ceremonial). Its a perfect size store with a few tables to beat the heat with or grab and go. Definitely will be back

I've had this place bookmarked for a while, and decided to visit them the other day when it was a beautiful and warm day in Laguna Beach. The coffee shop is a small shop, with some bar seating and a few high top tables. They offer matchas, coffees, and drink flights, which I thought was so cool! There was only one person working at the time, and it was the son of the owner. He did an amazing job at explaining the menu for our first time. We ended up getting the OG Medley drink flight which came with four small drink flights: matcha ube latte, hojicha vanilla latte, London fog, and black sesame misugaru. My favorite of the four was definitely the ube latte and London fog. You can tell their flavorings are authentic, and not artificial. We also got the bear mochi waffle bites with pepperjack that came as a two piece, which was also very delicious! They've only opened their store since October 2025, but we realized that we've actually had them before at a farmer's market in Tustin! So glad to see them thrive, and hope they continue to do so!

we got two drinks, the strawberry matcha and the black sesame misaguru latte and both were delicious! they are super popular so they were out of the lavender when we went so next time would definitely try that one! I really like how the strawberry matcha had real strawberry puree and everything tasted delicious. it's so hard to find good matcha in south OC so i'm so glad this place exists! we also got the bear mochi waffles with nutella (Cause they were out of red bean) and this was a cute twist on the fish taiyakis that im used to. service was great, the owners son was very nice and the cafe is super small and cute. since it's near the beach, its perfect for getting a drink and enjoying the sunshine

Definitely my new favorite matcha spot in Laguna. The matcha is strong and I could really taste the quality. Nutty, slightly bitter and perfectly balanced. I love the clean-minimalistic design of the shop and how close it is to the beach! The owner was so sweet, welcoming and knowledgeable. She made sure we were getting exactly what we were looking for! I also love how this shop only uses clean ingredients, quality and the customers satisfaction is definitely a priority here and I can't wait to come back!

Cute little cafe. Service was friendly and quick. I ordered the Blueberry Cheesecake Croissant and they warmed it up for me. It was flaky, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back for more. They also offer vegan pastries. They have very limited indoor and outdoor door seating.

We stopped by The Spicy Bean Lab while in Laguna Beach and absolutely loved it. The location alone is perfect, just steps from the beach, making it an easy and refreshing stop after our walking adventures! The customer service was 10/10 and very memorable. The drinks were excellent. The Lavender Ice Brew was smooth and refreshing with real infused lavender that was perfect to taste. The Matcha Ice Brew was clean, bright, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Our kids were also very happy with their strawberry milks and Nutella Bears!! You can really tell this spot cares about the ingredients and how everything is prepared. Great drinks, great spot, and a place we will definitely return to when we are back in Laguna Beach!

so yum!! i ordered the coconut matcha and my bf got the double matcha - super good quality and super affordable, got it as is (no adjustments) c: it was perfect! not too sweet service was great, i'm assuming the lovely lady who took my order was the owner ~ so helpful and informative; she shared that they don't use any artificial sweeteners!!! i love that store itself is small and cozy - very cutesy, clean vibe 10/10 recommend - will totally be back

My boyfriend and I love coffee and this was the best start for our long day driving back to Vegas. I appreciated that Shay was transparent on the ingredients. She was very sweet and thoughtful. It's a small coffee shop yet so cozy and cute. The coffee was amazing, I had the iced spanish latte with the vanilla foam on top with oat milk. I can almost taste it if I think of it hard enough. Anyways, she gave us locations to go to around the area which was sweet of her. I will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you Shay!

    Strawberry matcha latte - amazing!!!

One of the best strawberry matcha lattes I've ever had! We felt so welcome by the staff and the service was amazing. Would definitely recommend to everyone and get again many times!

Smooth, refreshing, and perfect for sipping while sitting on the sand. The workers were friendly and easy to order from, which made the experience even better. One thing that stood out to us was their logo, two hands shaped like coming together. In sign language, that sign means "connect," so as Deaf individuals, we immediately noticed it and wondered about the meaning behind it. It made the name "Rapport" feel even more intentional. Great drinks, welcoming service, and a perfect stop before heading back to the beach. We'd definitely do that walk again.

Interior is minimalist and clean. Baristas were all very nice. The cold brew coffee was one of the best I've had -- smooth, but robust, with a complex taste. AND it was under $5, which is a steal! I read that they roast coffees on site and I wouldn't doubt it! Unfortunately, while bean coffee was $23 for 200g, which is 7oz! My local roaster (Kean) would have the same price for 12oz. In their defense, they did have a massive bag that was $25. They had a bunch of great latte options, an espresso tonic, and tea options. They have pastries that looked delicious too. A great coffee and highly worth a visit!

I have to be honest, I was not impressed with this latte, and I am wondering why everybody raves about it. I got a vanilla latte and added vanilla cold foam as a little treat and somehow it still had a little to no flavor? A little more than that I think actually. I get it - it's a pricey area, they're a block from oven views, it's Laguna, I'm too broke to live and exist there but good Lord. All of that aside, it is a very cute shop, very cute merch, and very good vibes with lots of sitting areas. They even had a cute little corner with toys for kids to play with, which I love!

Easily 10 out of 5 stars…read more I've been coming here since they first opened about three years ago and can honestly say this is hands down the best coffee in SoCal. Genuinely surprised I haven't left a review sooner. It's a small, quaint shop with a clean and mellow interior, relaxing jazz playing in the background, and aroma of freshly brewed coffee that always transports me back to Japan. Daisuke and his team greet everyone with such genuine warmth that you immediately feel welcomed. Their hospitality is unmatched, but what keeps me coming back is the consistency. Every drink is made with care, and they're always happy to take the time to explain the differences between their beans, recommend something based on your preferences, and answer any questions without ever making you feel rushed. You can tell they truly care about both their craft and their customers. I usually order the café au lait, and it's the only coffee shop where I'm confident in asking them to make it however they like. Every now and then I'll also pick up a bag of their beans to brew at home, and I highly recommend doing the same. They carefully help you choose from their wide variety, then grind the beans for you or sell them whole if you have your own grinder. Grinding fresh beans takes about 15-20 minutes, so if you're driving from farther away, I'd recommend calling ahead or placing an order through their website for pickup. The quality of the coffee speaks for itself, but what really sets this place apart is the experience. It's rare to find a coffee shop where both the product and the people are this consistently exceptional. Where most coffee shops tend to rush you out I think the difference here is that you genuinely feel welcomed. Wishing Daisuke and the entire team nothing but continued success. They deserve every bit of it. If you're looking for incredible coffee, authentic Japanese hospitality, and a place that genuinely cares about what they serve, do yourself a favor and stop by. My wife took some good photos of the place while I mostly sat and enjoyed my coffee. The location is right near the Mountain Road beach access stairs and I took my coffee on a walk down to the water -- it was high tide, so the ocean was all the way up to the bottom of the steps, but there was a nice view and the ocean spray in the morning was refreshing.

Sunday morning at 10. Staff was nice. Coffee was good but I don't recommend the food…read more It wasn't busy. 3 gals up at counter. 1 guy in back preparing the food alone. 4 breakfast items ordered, 1 order after another & came out at very different times. 2 ordered breakfast burritos & one came out 15 min later. He did keep us updated on status of food & apologized for delay. The poor guy needed some help which he didn't get from front staff. And they were not busy, saw them talking to each other while he was trying hard to keep up. I also had to go to the counter & tell them they were out of paper towels in bathroom. My decaf Americano was wonderful. The breakfast bowl was light on the greens, very heavy on avocado mash. Just ok but only $8. Burritos were not very large but tastes ok when they arrived.

The everything bagel was toasted perfectly, and the chocolate muffin was soft, moist, and the perfect sweet treat alongside our drinks. The vanilla latte was smooth and well-balanced, while the iced matcha was refreshing and had a nice matcha flavor without being overly sweet. The café has a welcoming atmosphere and quality ingredients that really shine through in the food and drinks. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving a good coffee or matcha run! Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area

Overall the experience was okay, but it didn't quite blow us away. The service felt pretty rushed…read morethey didn't really greet you or say hello, just asked for your order and waited. They also didn't offer much explanation about their drinks, so if you're not sure what you want, it can feel a little rushed. Inside seating is very limited, which makes sense for the size. The highlights for us Young man offered me a sample of Kombucha: the kombucha was solid, and refreshing. Both the regular latte and the black latte were okay. The blackberry latte was better. One nice bonus is there's a great park just around the corner down the hill with beautiful views. You can grab your drink and drive over to sit and enjoy it there, which is a nice touch. But honestly, it's probably not worth making a special drive for.

Service was fast even though there was a line when I got there at 8:30 in the morning…read more I ordered the Rose Cardamom Latte. It's a different kind of coffee that I don't usually order but I was curious and I had to try it. I love Rose tea or coffee but I wasn't sure about the cardamom mixed with rose. Peculiar taste and not your ordinary coffee. I also ordered the salmon lox toast with capers on top. I've been so excited to try salmon lox again since I haven't eaten it in a while. It's very delicious and what a great breakfast! I will definitely order it again if I'm in the area. Ambiance is cute, clean and nice. They have big windows that shows what a beautiful day it is outside. Everyone is nice and was even giving compliments to each other.

Ambience 5/5 Located in the same plaza as sprouts, there is plenty of parking in the parking lot, when you walk in there are a mixture of tables and bar seating/booths along the wall. Grateful for groups of 4 to 5, we're coming here solo or for a coffee date. There are outlets along the front wall, our seating, and the booths on the side to get work done (great plus!). They do play music so noise level is average with the typical coffee shop. Sounds as well. What I really loved was the multitude of sitting areas around the whole coffee shop and also a little play area for toddlers. (Kitchen play) next to the door -- so adorable! Drink 5/5 I got a small lavender latte, it tastes super flavorful, strong lavender flavor, and I asked for a little bit light sweetness (less honey). Sometimes when I get lavender lattes, they have a little bit of bitter aftertaste, but this wasn't the case at all. They also have awesome looking seasonal flavors that I'll have to come back to try sometime. Service 5/5 I know others have had something to say, but everyone was super friendly and you could tell that coworkers got along -- seems like a really good work culture where people become friends :) Overall, I love to this coffee shop. If I lived near the area, I would definitely be a regular, but will certainly keep this as a place to stop by when I'm passing through the area!
