Not too much to say because I feel like most LGS are the same. The pros: plenty of variety, definitely one of the best for variety. Prices on some items are really good. The cons: some items are definitely significantly above online prices but I can't really fault them for it being brick and mortar so they have higher expenses. Just a heads up to folks expecting to find under retail. Prices still way better than other stores like Legends which have just gone terribly downhill. read more

For Pokémon card collectors, I'd advise caution when visiting S&A. I experienced unenthusiastic customer service when trying to get information about cards. More critically, their prices for Pokémon cards appear to be well above current market value, resembling scalper pricing. Unless you're comfortable paying a premium, it's worth checking other retailers. Well they're have a huge selection of Pokemon cards from various English to Japanese. I remember being like 9 years old going here. Customer service used to be decent, but now the workers will not talk to you AT ALL (unless you're gonna buy something). And to make things look even more bad, the owner (or whoever runs the official accounts) is not professional at all and extremely defensive. sold me a defective labubu and refused to offer a refund. When I opened the box, its head was severed from its body!! Told me to contact Pop Mart to resolve it, Pop Mart said it must be resolved by S&A. A month later, today, they've decided to just give me $30 off the next Labubu I buy from them, not even store credit. They already markup the labubus more than twice the retail value, so it doesn't amount to much. They then proceeded to retaliate and talk rudely to me on instagram after my friend gave them a negative review. Completely disappointed. This behavior isn't new for the owner. On Facebook he has cussed out people who left negative reviews. Was my favorite store in the mall. Will never shop here again. My 1st graders can give better customer service. Long overdue review. Found this spot about 2 years ago when I started collecting pops. Got a few grails here before they jumped in price ad well. They have a bunch of fairly priced pops and the grails aren't too overpriced either. Not sure if it's going to continue, but they also do a monthly pop up where people can come to buy, sell and trade but with the owner opening a new location in Vegas, not sure if it will continue. Located inside NewPark Mall, the store has a large collection of funko pops all priced at market or a little over. There is also a large selection of trading cards from Pokemon, Digimon, Bleach to sports cards. Additionally, there are plenty of collectibles to shop for. Service is hit or miss depending on who is at the register, sometimes I'll be greeted, other times I won't. Pops are priced good and you get your value. read more

I'm pretty torn what to give an overall rating here since my experience is pretty mixed. I'm more of a 3.5/5 than 4/5. Overall the store owner & his wife is pretty nice, & they do make an effort to host monthly events where other vendors come to sell Pops, Cards, & other collectibles! I truly do enjoy these events. The owner can come off a bit brash if he's in a bad mood, but he can also be very kind & patient as I've experienced both. While they don't really have a wide selection of single cards, they have an amazing selection of Pops from Disney, Animation, Sports, & anything you can really think of as well as certain Chase Pops that can be super difficult to find. They also do sell Japanese Pokemon Card Booster Boxes/Packs like Eevee Heroes & of course things sometimes are marked up a lot higher if its a Popular Item. Most common sets like Chilling Reign & Battle Styles are retail MSRP. During Pokemon TCG release days, they sell BBs for pretty reasonable prices along with the promotional items! There are item limits to ensure people get a chance at product Overall if you don't agree with the price, just look somewhere else honestly, most collectible stores these days are pretty much using TCGPlayer MarketPrice or Ebay etc, so its definitely hard to find a great deal. Overall, don't take any attitude too personally from here, but hopefully you can find what you're looking for at a great price. read more

The Pokemon pricing here is actually much better than average and cheaper than I would think considering that they are located in a mall. Mall shops are not typically associated with cheap prices but they had a lot of different types of packs at very reasonable pricing compared to other Bay Area coming/card shops. They also have other toys and collectibles. The shop isn't that big and they don't have much of a board game collection (if any?). read more

Omg this place is every Funko Pop Fanatics dream!! I'm so glad this place has opened up permanently in the mall. This is what a real toy collectible store should be and look like. Once you walk in you can't help but be enticed by the HUGE wall of popular and hard to find Funko Pops! They are very reasonably priced, usually between $7-$12 unless they are limited edition or exclusives then those will be a bit higher. They have a huge variety and you're guaranteed to find what you're looking for, they also have a locked case which holds the Pops that have been vaulted and are rare and those run anywhere from $40-$200 such as the Michael Jackson Pops. There is also a nice selection of collectible Barbies and dolls, wrestling figures along the back wall. They have tons of Star Wars collectibles, sports memorabilia, trading cards and other rare items. Guaranteed you will not walk out of there empty handed, you will find something that is just too amazing to pass up. I'm not sure if it's every week or how frequent it is but they have Funko Pop Trade Night where they have tables set up and people bring their collections to either trade or sell, I've seen some really good ones. The customer service here is wonderful, they are so helpful and informative and will try their best to help you find what you're looking for or at least give you information. They are also very knowledgeable about the items that they sell. This my go to place for Funko Pops and I'm hoping they stick around for a long time! read more

Although this place does have a lot of unique Pop dolls and collectibles, the owner is rude and not very friendly. They're all pretty cool to look at. Besides that, there's not much that this store has to offer. My boyfriend and I came here interested in selling some of our Pop dolls. Feel free to look at the attached photos with the offers that he made us. Only the first set had damaged boxes, all the other ones were in brand new condition. The man literally sits down, scans the Pop dolls on his phone, and quotes you on the set. After that, he got up and literally said "take it or leave it" and walked away. Definitely a huge rip off - I would rather donate the Pop dolls than to sell it to this store that buys them from random collectors for super cheap and then marks it up like crazy to sell for their own profit. We ended up leaving the store without selling any dolls. We also did not buy some dolls that we were super interested in since we do not believe in supporting a business like this. read more

Bought Pokemon booster packs from different series. Been buying a lot of booster packs to have muscle memory on how genuine and untampered packs feel like. I don't believe in accusing a shop of selling tampered and resealed packs. But these packs are very sus. If you feel them, you immediately know something was off. If you look at them you know something was off. Look at the seal area, you will notice the packs were cut unevenly. They also seem to suspiciously large number of packs and collections at reasonable prices whereas everywhere else is pretty much sold out. Make your own judgement here. I will not be back. read more

Pre/Present COVID-19 review. S&A Collectibles is located in Newpark Mall and is home to a rare and unique assortment of primarily pop funkos but also trading cards and other cool gems. I've always marveled at how cool this place was to look at for the past 5 years I've been coming but it wasn't until 2020 that I started my own Pop Funko collection that I became somewhat of a regular (from literally 4 pops randomly gifted to me before 2020 to over 200 pops present day and I think at least 150 are from here...). So yeah, I come here a lot... The shop owner, Shawn, is an insane hands-on guy who gets up before the crack of dawn to prepare the shop and stays after hours a lot of days to keep the store stocked and more behind the scenes. He follows the market with all collectibles and will give you a fair price (keep in mind, it's still a business with bills to pay) if you decide to sell or buy. He gets a lot of flack for being "mean" (in quite a few reviews below) but honestly he says what he thinks and gets blasted because he doesn't believe "the customer is always right". I personally enjoy the way he does things and appreciate not getting hounded to buy something when I come in and my questions answered when I ask them. Also I can't end my review without mentioning his wife Adrienne who helps him run the shop (even now with a broken foot) and Ramon who helps out in-person once in awhile and does some fun Instagram Live streams for Pop Funko Raffles. They are a small but mighty team forsure. In a time where a lot of stores are shuttering their doors and online shopping has become the main way to go, having a place to go in-person to shop for my collectibles has been a saving grace; hope it's around for years to come! read more

Probably your best bet for Funko Pops in the East Bay. The wall is littered with them and there are a ton of rare ones as well! Prices here are pretty fair. Things normally go for what they are going for on the second hand market. So you're not getting robbed, but you're not getting a steal in the price either. Staff is friendly, but sometime customers are a little weird. I had a lady invade my personal space today as I was looking at a pop. We randomly stumbled upon this place while trying to figure out where the AMC was located in this mall. Most of the walls were lined with Funko Pops ranging from commons to exclusives to even some of the rarer or more sought after ones behind the register or in a glass case. The prices are what you would expect for some of the common pops. They had a couple of mystery boxes to purchase from the store that came with three pops each and they threw in a free Gremlin pop if you made a purchase over $30 or something (has been a while since I went here and purchased them lolz) Our pulls were pretty decent when we opened the boxes back at our AirBnB and we did enjoy talking with the owners as well. read more

I have seen a lot of people buying pops here from kids, teens, men, women of all ages. It's probably one of the best stores in Newpark Mall selling Funko products. Others are Gamestop, Hot Topic and Box Lunch. A lot of commons from 2016 to present. Limited edition and comic conor special exclusives are housed in glass displaying cabinets. Ask the owner how much are they. His approach on buying pops are based on popular trends but he sets each for about more than 50%, so that way he can make more profit. If you want more money, go somewhere else. If you are a collector, and trying to find your grails or add a pop that you are looking for. This is probably one of the places to look for. read more

However my son who recently started collecting football cards (and is 11) saw a sign that says, "we buy sell trade cards" . So we took his cards to see if the owner was willing to trade. This shop has literally tons of Funko Pop at good prices. There is also a large selection of Pokémon packs and box sets as well as some Japanese Pokémon packs. I also stop by to get sports cards every now and then as well as Pokémon cards for the kids. I hope this shop as well as other shops like this doesn't close down. It gives kids a great place to shop. Looking for a local TCG/Sports/Funko store that prices things how they should? Well, you found it! Literally doesn't price gouge and is the fairest priced product you will find outside of normal retail. Other card stores should take notes as this is a store that is bringing up the hobby and not crushing it like other local stores. My only hope is to maybe one day sell tcg singles, although I know how much of a pain selling singles are for a business owner not worth the trouble but with the way Shawn does business, I can only imagine the great cards I would find. Natalie's super unhelpful and is quick to turn you away when you need help with literally anything, even though she's just sitting there on her phone & looking bored. They also tried lowball my boyfriend suuuper bad. They tried to say the collection, at market value, was barely worth $500 but when we scanned and priced every item ourselves w the funko app we were at $700+ so idk what "market value" they were going off of. They then tried to offer $150 for the entire thing, what a joke lmao. Wow did I have a bad experience with the owner of the store (Sean something). don't understand all the positive reviews...I would give this place negative stars if I could... I'm part of a local Bay Area Funko Facebook Group...and I've heard such positive things about this store so I finally decided to check it out. In the beginning everything was fine, I walked in and they had a huge variety of Pops. I browsed for about 10 minutes until I noticed the owner making eye contact with me...kind of mugging at me like he wished I wasn't there...but whatever I didn't think too much of it. My friends told me they held trade events at the store, so I asked him about it. He told me they held them about once a month and charge $20 a table. I told him the trade events I went to were free...and for some reason that set him off...he started being rude, and yelling at me, lecturing me about business blah blah blah. Surprised by his reaction, I just decided to slowly walk out the store...but not being hearing him mutter to himself "Fuck that guy." Maybe he was just having a bad day...but man...no way would I ever recommend supporting this store.
