I've been looking for a passenger bus for a few years. Looking for just the right one. I finally found one at J and S auto on Facebook. I went to yelp and looked at the reviews. Their aggregate rating was kind of low so I looked at the details. The only complaints they had were mistakes the DMV made and somebody that only talked to Joe on the phone. The guy that talked to Joe on the phone didn't like Joe. Now Joe was probably just in the middle of something because it's a small shop and he and Sue do everything But that's just the first impression maybe catching Joe at a bad time. I like the bus because it had a wheelchair lift and I need one because this bus fulfills my dreams of traveling in spite of challenges. Then we cut a hard deal with them. Negotiated real well and they gave us a good deal, which I'm sure they weren't happy with. That being said even though we negotiate hard with them a bit they were really kind and gracious. Went far out of their way to make sure everything went our way. They bent over backwards did way more than anybody could ask a car dealership to do. They're honest and decent people. And yeah Joe doesn't always have the best phone skills but his hearts in the right place. You can trust these people. read more

The owner Joe Williams doesn't know how to talk to people. When I called regarding my car needing repair, he said I should get my butt up here. Informed him not to speak to me that way, he should have known better not to talk to a possible future customer that way. Once I arrive, we approached me talking fast with food crumbs still in his mouth. Thought pieces were going to fly out on me. Then he started to pressure about getting another car, which was a much better one. However, due to my finances now, didn't want to. I advise no one to purchase a car from him because he's sloppy and rude. read more

Would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The car we bought has had so many issues we have put at least 2000 to fix it. We tried to speak to the owners they will not take accountability and when we went to try and talk to them again to see if we can come to a resolution we found one of them sleeping on the couch. That same man on the picture will make inappropriate comments to my 20-year-old daughter when she will go by herself to make a payment. They respect customer's who come to buy or sell vehicles to them and how hard they worked for their money. Susan is calm to Joe's boisterousness. They reasonably negotiate prices, Susan goes to great lengths to help customers get the best rates to buy their vehicles. Like most hard working folks today, they work many hours. Like most of us. This guy finessed me! First off this guy was unorganized as hell. Had his wife helping out the whole time and he promised and had a financing plan laid out before I left his lot with the car. The company we were going to finance didn't end up doing it so I got stuck with another financing company that was higher in price. I got a 2007 Ford mustang from him. Seemed to be in solid shape. Oh but when the rain came I knew I got played. The damn convertible top leaks water down into the back seats of the car!!! To fix that was $2000. So off the bat I'm paying for repairs and financing with a crappy company. Now I have to refinance. Joe, you are scandalous and never will do business with this guy ever again! Joe and Sue are very nice and frank. I called the day before and Joe told me about the car (full CarFax report). He was very helpful, even offered to pick me up from airport. (I trusted it so much I flew down from out of town to pick the car up). They sold me an amazing car, in very good condition, at a great price. They even re-serviced it and went out of their way to made it prim and fresh: new battery etc... Car drives like new, in VERY good condition. Joe and Sue were proper and super diligent with all the paperwork. As a DMV agent they did everything, so within 1hr of buying car am completely set! (they take good care of neighbourhood feral cats, which is a clear sign of some stand-up folks!) Can't recommend them enough. Super trust-worthy. read more

I'm the type of person who only writes reviews when an experience is REALLY BAD or REALLY GOOD... and ever since I moved to L.A. a year ago, I never had that feeling of "I'm doing a review on this"... I was looking for a car for about three months now and since I'm REALLY obsessed about finding THE exact one that would match my personality (and of course, my budget), I've been searching every day ever since. I found "the one" in two dealers but, not only S&J had a better price, but their car was 20.000 miles less than the other and it was in better condition. This dude sold us a car under the impression it was a great deal because of the physical damage of the car and that it was "mechanically sound". What a joke, our car stalled after 1 day of use and had to get it towed (AFTER 1 DAY) I'm incredibly furious how they jipped us and that we didn't even get a solid year of use out of what we thought was a safe car. Got my Mercedes ML 350 here! I met with Susan, talked about my different options, price range and credit unions that I could go through. She's very knowledgeable about where to go for getting approved. They have a ton of cars to chose from with great prices and work with you to find the best deal! As I was looking around, I saw a Mercedes ML350 pull up on the lot and told her that was my dream car and she said they just got it in!! I went back two days later and purchased it! It was a smooth process and I was in and out quickly! I definitely recommend them! They also helped me with getting work done for cheaper than the dealer quoted me. I got hit from the side and went to the Mercedes dealer for a quote which was $2200 so I called Susan and asked if they did work and she referred me to one of her shops and did the work for $1650. They were very helpful when I was looking for a used car several years ago with a VERY limited budget. I actually loved my car that I bought from them. My issue is now that it is years later, the Camaro that was part of my trade off has never been taken out of my name! I got a lien notice from a tow yard in Vista, and a ticket from the city. They also told me they could only find one of my personalized plates to give back to me when I traded in my car. I didn't reuse them at that time so that was not a big deal. But the license plate that shows on the lien and ticket? The one they said they couldn't find. I'm not sure how the car ended up in Vista, or why it's still showing that I own it but I'm none to happy about it S&J! read more

Spent the entire day going from dealer to dealer. Came across this small family owned dealership in the little town of Stanton, California at the end of the day. Was so relived that they were open, honest and upfront about the cars I looked at. They even allowed me to talk the guy who services their car. He came out from the back with gloves, on did not try to hide any issues with the vehicle I was looking at. There was no hand off from one guy to another. I will now buy EVERY car I need from these people. The male owner is slightly obnoxious, but the woman (Susan) who helped finish off all our paperwork was the best salesperson I have ever had to deal with!!! P.S. Despite what the perceptions are about used car sales men, Joe was amazing. I bought a 2003 VW Passat from him and took it home, less than a week later I foud out that the turbo was no good and needed to be replaced. I was expecting to have to fight tooth a nail to get the car fixed or get my money back. When I walked in Joe was pleasant as he had been before and when I explained to him my situation with the car, he stopped me mid sentence and asked "what do you want to do, get the car fixed or get your money back?" I said I would rather get my money back and purchase a different car. With out hesitation he sent one of his co workers to the bank and I received all of my money back, with absolutely no Issue! Bought van here. Catalytic convertors were not legal,will have to replace $$$. Had a short in wiring. Power Control Module was from a wrecker and not for this van, had to replace $$. Head gasket has a leak. Was told he drove van all the time. NO WAY did he not know these things. read more
