Can I give 10 stars? I've been with Sam for years. I came in, having used a lot of accountants before, but this was my first in LA. The reviews on here sent me to him. And they were right. Sam is super attentive and willing to work through any number of issues, and get you the best tax returns possible. He also offers advice on any number of financial issues, and we've also talked family life and more. I really cannot recommend Sam enough. Samir is beyond the best. I have never seen a person work so diligently and effortlessly at the same time. When I entered his office I was well over 200k in tax debt. When I left I owed a measly 2k. I got advice from several tax "professionals" but the best advice I got was to visit his office. How did I know everything was gonna be ok as he and his son Sam assured me? Prior to trying out S&S, I had been going to another accountant for my taxes. I wanted a change (due to a variety of reasons), and a family friend recommended S & S. Similar to most people, I was skeptical at first, but I have to say looking back I couldn't be happier with my decision. The friendly environment and the wealth of knowledge provided by this father/son outfit is pretty great. Sam Jr. helped me, but both were really involved in the process, and both were great about keeping me in the loop. They aren't shy about asking questions to get the best possible return, and they ensure that you're comfortable with the process (since it can be stressful for many). My wife and I did our personal and business taxes 2 years in a row with Samir. Both years we've tried contacting Samir over and over, with no responses. We had to show up to their office one time, only then he said: "I thought I send you the paperwork, so I didn't respond to your emails". We let that go... and wanted to continue using them. Well, since then we tried contacting Samir several times, with no response, even to this day. I even had our mom doing her taxes with him. This year we were in a bit of a different situation with our taxes and didnt know what to expect. I used Yelp to contact a few different tax service companies and they were one of the only ones that offered a 'free consultation'. Freakin awesome! Thank God there are people out there that dont charge for every little thing. So I decided to go out there and met with Gevork (George) and in the beginning he kinda threw me off cause I told him I was shopping around and he was like "no.. you're going to do your taxes here". It was a bit of an awkward moment... But he totally took care of me, answered any question I had, and made sure I was satisfied with everything before leaving. During the whole process he was so nice! He reminded made me feel like family, like he was my uncle, lol. I wanted to call him Amo Gevork, haha! I will be returning to him for sure from now on and if there is anything I know that needs a good financial service company, I will be referring them also! He totally made my day/year. Samir the elder called a couple of times, obviously upset about the review. Said he'd give me my money back if I wanted, he didn't know how this misunderstanding took place... In June, 2016, I told him absolutely everything that needed to be done!!! He explained (today) that there was another form he (apparently didn't realize??) had to fill out (Sch. E, business). Maybe the reason he didn't realize I needed that form was because he wasn't listening to what I was saying in June 2016? I don't know? But, I don't see how he couldn't, since I had everything written out, explaining my income, my rental income, all the deductibles that would have to be taken for the rental, etc. He said he could certainly do that, and that it would be $120 to do the taxes. Thing is, I really could use that money back!!!! Just reimburse me $150, the extra that was tacked on to the original quote. But I didn't write the review to get money back. I wrote it because I was angry, I'd read these YELP reviews and believed them!!! For all I know they're written by family members? Another serious problem I had was, I was applying to get a line of credit. Bank wanted Every Stitch of Paper I had!!! Seriously!!! So they of course wanted my 2016 tax returns. I gave them to the bank - several times!!! Then they asked me for a certain attachment from Schedule E (?) that wasn't in my Copy of the taxes!!!??? Sooo, I had to call and go Back up to the office and collect this attachment that wasn't included in my copy! You know, after all the rigamoro with these people, I didn't even bother to ask why the copy of my taxes they gave me were Incomplete!!!!
