Two days ago, I had my inspection done and they had found that the cabin air filter was sloppily installed and was smushed into place. I have attached a picture of what it looked like. So that same day, i returned to have my oil changed and confronted one of the mechanics there and explained the situation. I asked that they replace the air filter because of what happened and the mechanic said it was no problem. Seems great. After they had performed the service, it came to billing. The mechanic said, "Alright, it will be so and so for the oil change and $40 for the filter." I said, "No! This was done incorrectly previously and theres no way you're charging me for this right now Etc." The mechanic replied, "Haha, I was joking! Just wanted to see the look on your face."
