Let me start by saying: I highly recommend SOS Cleaning. A couple months ago I needed a deep clean of my apartment and my friends recommended SOS Cleaning. They said the price was good and service was great so I emailed Sergio to make an appointment. Sergio quickly replied and I booked a cleaning. The cleaners arrived on time and immediately went to work as I left to do my own thing. When I came home I was blown away by the job they'd done. The stove, my tile floors, bathroom all super clean. I honestly don't know if my apartment was this clean when I moved in. They did such a great job I didn't mind keeping up the cleaning on my own. However I still had some stubborn stains on my window blinds, freezer and fridge that I couldn't get out on my own so I called Sergio and scheduled another appointment for today. Again the team showed up on time and immediately went to work. I came home to see they didn't only magically clean my window blinds, freezer and fridge; they also vacuumed my couch, which I didn't realize I needed until I saw it after they cleaned, and took out my recycling even though I told them not to worry about it. These guys are great. I can't say enough about how easy to use and friendly they were, not to mention such a good value for San Francisco. I used this company for a move out cleaning and requested a quote right here on Yelp. Sergio was very responsive and quick to book the appointment through the app with no hassle. On the day of the appointment, they arrived early and were quick to get to work. Two ladies for two hours at $70/hr... You can't beat that! I was surprised to have a nasty experience to an otherwise responsive communication with Sergio, he was fast at setting up business but unfortunately also fast at endeding it. I was in a time crunch and had made that clear, it was important for me the cleaning would be done the day it started. I checked in after 4 hours because the cleaners had said it would be 4-5 hours and it was clear to me they would have to rush to get done after 5 hours. I told Sergio to please give them an extra half hour, I would rather have them finish and do a good job and be done. He said ok and thanks and then never gave them more time. This meant, as I was afraid off, that I wouldn't have the job done on time. I shared photos of the really dirty areas in the apartment that still needed to be cleaned. New tenants moving in wouldn't like to find a dirty kitchen with food still in sink and on the floor, let alone pee stains on the and around the toilet. He had no comments or even apologies for the rushed job or the fact that it would now have to be finished the following day. He just said they could be back 7.30am the next morning, which meant I would have to juggle both scheduled painters and cleaners all at once. They came back for half an hour but what a hazzle, it got especially nasty when it was time to pay. Sergio is clearly only interested in the money and not a good relationship with a returning or satisfied customer. When I payed for the 5 hours, Sergio wanted to argue about payment for the last half hour. That half hour I had asked and been happy to pay for the day before, but that Sergio had decided to rush through and perhaps even still charge me for? I am sure the cleaners are good if they are given the time to finish their job. Instead Sergio sits somewhere removed from the scene and thinks he can push things to make more money. His lack of service and lack of ability to listen to what his customers need and the stress he is putting on his cleaners makes me never want to return to S.O.S. I will start by saying the actual S.O.S. Cleaners do a great job cleaning. They are also big enough that they are able to schedule for most times during the week and far in advance. It was also fantastic both the scheduler on the phone as well as one of the cleaners who came to the apartment spoke English clearly. So for a 1 time move in/out, this review might be 4 stars. If you're planning on having an ongoing relationship with them, and would like to be treated as a valued customer, I would choose another place. The reason I'm writing this review before 9am on a Saturday morning is because we've had (another) miscommunication. I am confident I scheduled for 9am on a Saturday, and they arrived at 8:20am before my alarm. When I call, I am greeted with unwavering confidence that the scheduling is perfect and I am wrong. I am also penalized by having to deduct that half hour from cleaning time and pay for it anyways. Last time we scheduled, I had intended for a light cleaning, perhaps just 1 person for 2 hours, or possibly 2 people for 1 hour. Scheduling was a breeze, no questions asked. I was surprised when 2 ladies arrived requiring the 2 hours minimum. When I called to see if there could be any change, I was reminded that SOS had clearly stated the official policy 6 months back. Of course, I had forgotten the "official" policy after six months since last speaking with them. Ok, well, you win S.O.S. again I pay you more then I would like, and good thing I am penalized for being such a dunce! Basically, these guys are a business. They don't offer any sort of warm-fuzzy feeling, and I continue to be met with an "SOS is Right" attitude. When I mentioned I don't think this will be working out, the dispatcher reminded me that S.O.S. has a huge number of customers. I am so pleased I will not be missed, and they will continue to prosper- PHEW. They are expensive, they are inflexible, and I am parting ways with them because quite simply, I've had better. read more

They were hired to clean our condo prior to staging for a sale. We had to call them back because several large areas of dust (due to some floor work and painting) were still quite obvious. Minimal attention to detail when replacing items to original placement. My qualifier of a good housecleaner is one that seems to magically clean without moving anything. The cleaners took 7 hours (SEVEN) to clean my studio apartment and charged me $210 for it. After reading all of the great reviews about S.O.S cleaning on Yelp, I decided to hire Sergio and his team to clean my condo (home for 7 years) for our move out. I have to say.. it was a little pricey but worth every penny. Sergio and his team did a very thorough job, even pulled out the stove and fridge and cleaned them inside and out. 9/15/14 I called Sergio for a last-minute apartment move out cleaning job on Monday morning after the previously scheduled cleaner (through poopy Homejoy) canceled on me. Sergio returned my call within 30 minutes after 7 in the morning and sent his crew over at 9 am. Cleaning job was spotless. I'm not messy but the bathroom grout, the stove-top and the floor could definitely use some deep cleaning and stain removal. The cleaners arrived 9 on the dot and spent two hours cleaning. Wow--I was very impressed with S.O.S. --I hired them to do a move out clean of our old apartment and when they were finished the place looked better than it did when we moved in. In fact neither my boyfriend nor I thought it could ever look that clean. They were really fantastic and they got everything clean--behind the refrigerator, the shelves, the microwave, the tiles in the bathroom. They even cleaned the vases that we had left on top of the refrigerator. Sergio was extremely polite and responsive--he called me back within the day after I contacted him and I was extremely grateful that he was willing to fit our job in on short notice and accommodate our tight schedule. My apartment was a disaster zone and hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a good 7 years or so. There was a significant built up of grime and mold in all the wrong places (almost everywhere). I called Sergio and got an estimate, and he was able to do the cleaning within a couple days. They went to town. He and his crew were very nice and friendly (and even seemed to be enjoying themselves a little bit!). They scrubbed all the surfaces, behind the stove, in the fridge, got the toxic mold out of the bathroom... etc. It is such a relief having an apartment that is now so thoroughly clean! I consider the price completely reasonable ($280 for kitchen, bathroom, living room, laundry room, hall, and one bedroom), considering it took 3 people about 6 hours to finish. read more

I have been using Sergio and his team at S.O.S. Cleaning Services for just over a year now for my two bedroom house in San Francisco. He came strongly recommended by my brother and sister-in-law and I couldn't agree more!!! When he first came to my home, I was having a hard time fighting dust and keeping the floors clean (hardwood throughout the house). When he first arrived, I told him that just a thorough dusting and taking care of the floors would make me very, very, happy. The first cleaning blew my mind -- not only were the floors shiny and clean and the surfaces free of dust, but the refrigerator was cleaned out, behind the refrigerator and stove were cleaned, and each item was cleaned and replaced to where it was. They must have spent the entire day there -- I saw evidence of pizza boxes in my recycling when I came home from work that evening. :) Sergio and his team are meticulous about doing a good job and leaving everything just where they found it. Many of the reviews on here talk about how "clean" the place smells after S.O.S. has done their magic. It's true, but I just wanted to add that it's not a chemical-clean smell. it's not ammonia or bleach smells that hit your nose when coming home, it's a more natural clean. All of his products are green and eco-friendly so that they're safe around pets and children. One more comment: I've also been a witness to his team members with my cat, who tends to be skittish around strangers in general. Everything in the room - walls, floor, shelves, equipment, tools, parts, etc - was covered with a thick layer of black dust from a particular production process. Sergio is a rockstar! I just moved to San Francisco this week. The flat I subleased wasn't cleaned and was a dustbowl. I called Sergio in the morning, he called me back and within 15 minutes he was down to the flat to survey the disaster. He had a cleaning crew of four of down at the pad that afternoon. YES! SOS same day service. They did an incredible job, I am now sitting in a completely different space versus 24 hours ago. And most importantly their prices are amazingly great. I called over 10 providers I found via Yelp and Craigslist and his prices came in at the lower end! We were moving out of our 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment on a holiday weekend. Due to a few last minute circumstances, we realized we needed outside assistance to clean the place. It wasn't in the worst shape, but our landlord was a Grade A Asshole, so we knew it had to be perfect. I desperately called many cleaners. It was a Thursday and we needed someone for Sunday or Monday (holiday). No one was available. Finally I called Sergio and SOS! He really came through. He came by promptly to do a consultation, was super nice and friendly, and was totally on time with his cleaning team on the morning of the move out. OH MY GOSH, after his team finished, the place looked better than I have ever seen it. I didn't want to move! The team made a bunch of crap appliances from the 80s gleam like new. Also, they were sweet, and their leader made a point to take me around the apartment to show me their work at the end to check for my approval. TDLR - Nice people, probably great for regular cleaning, my experience with a post-construction cleaning job left a lot to be desired. My experience seems to be consistent with that of other Yelpers - regular is great but deep is not always. I was looking for post-construction cleanup and Sergio responded promptly and showed up the next day to provide an estimate. Post-construction cleanup is another level of cleaning - thick dust everywhere, glue and paint marks on tile, etc. My communication with Sergio was all about post-construction cleanup, he claimed to do it, he advertises on his Yelp page here that he does it and he gave me confidence in their abilities. He showed up on the day and time we agreed with two people who were later joined by a third one. They were done in a few hours which was the first sign that something isn't serious (this sort of cleaning can be done in a few hours if you have a page crew). His crew was nice but didn't seem too detailed oriented. When the third person came she handled communication and was very nice. She asked about certain areas and all seemed good. When it looked like they were about to wrap up we looked around and it was clear that there was a lot of detail cleaning remaining. We were in the kitchen but explained 'this and this still requires cleaning', there we glue marks on the tile, the top of the cabinet doors still have 4 months of dust on them, the fridge still had a bunch of dust in it. They took our requests at face value and went over the kitchen but there was an entire house suffering from the same conditions. There were window sills up high that were just full of dust no one touches them. They were very polite and kept asking if there's anything else. At some point I got the feeling they just wanted to go, they had their equipment folded up and the two other cleaners were downstairs or even oh wide the house. I realized then that I won't be getting the post-construction cleanup that I needed from this crew. When they asked me if there's anything else for the fifth time I said no thank you goodbye. I thought I hired professionals to do a a professional post-construction job but ended up with what seemed like a regular cleaning job. The only thing they did professionally in the sense of post-construction was removal of dust from most areas. I let Sergio know over text and he immediately called. Over the call we just argued, he started by pointing out issues then said they don't do post construction cleanup, then just reiterated. Near the end of the call one the other cleaners started talking which was surprising no one said she was on the call prior. He didn't take responsibility and came up with a bunch of explanations for the poor job which was the real disappointment. They are very nice people I just don't think they provide post-construction cleanup services as advertised. They mean well and I'm sure they are good for your everyday cleanup but I will hire super professionals for post-construction if I need it again. * I had a a few glass people hanging glass during the first half of the cleaning, Sergio claims that's he source of all the issues but it's very evident that the cleaning job was superficial all over the house and not limited to where that crew was working. My issue isn't with a little bit of dust here and there it's with thick layers of dust that are months and months old. * I also gave Sergio green cleaning products and explained some aspects of the house are fragile. That cannot explain areas which received no cleaning at all (high up window sills, random corners all around) and things like glue marks on tile that come off with 5 seconds of scrubbing - that's just lack of attention to detail. read more

This cleaning service is amazing. I live in a Big Sur-like house here in San Francisco... full of wood beams and little nooks and crannies. It loves to collect dust webs and although i love it, it drives me insane to clean it! Sergio and his crew do a fantastic job. I have had their services a few times now and every time I am so pleased. My house smells so clean, but not clean like chemicals... just fresh and clean! Everything is tidy, in its right place. Towels are folded as if they were puffed up in some magic machine...its great! I am a flexible person, and a few times they had to stay longer than I was told... but that didn't irk bother me one bit. At least I knew they were getting the job done right. I highly recommend SOS cleaning. The only not-so-fabulous comment I can say is that they didnt clean my fridge out the last time (but when they did it the first time i was shocked that it was done... so they do not lose any stars for this!). read more

Zero stars. They are totally unprofessional and rude. We had hired them for a deep clean and their owner came in and baits you into thinking he will do all this extragavant stuff and sells you with his charm. When his cleaning crew shows up, he promptly leaves and they have no clue what they are supposed to clean. They dropped stuff and tried to use a broken mop to clean which could have left scratches on our floors and walls. When we asked them to call their owner and get better equipment and clarify what they needed to do, he apparently told them that there was nothing more they had. We asked them to leave immediately. Had a move-out cleaning done for a small studio that they charged 4 hours for. The overall cleaning job was decent, but I felt overcharged in that I didn't get 4 hours worth of cleaning out of it. Seems like they do a good basic cleaning job (e.g. clean floors, bathroom, etc.) but don't really pay attention to the details needed for a move-out cleaning! They did not clean under the fume hood or the higher-up cabinets above the fume hood (still sticky to the touch). They also did not clean any of the window blinds and $45 was taken out of my deposit by the landlord for that. One would think they've done so many cleaning jobs that they wouldn't miss basic things like this. Next cleaning I will probably try another service. read more

I wanted to write and tell you how grateful I am to the people who cleaned our apartment today. A few weeks ago I noticed one of the small diamond earrings that my boyfriend had given me had fallen out of my ear! I felt so terrible - I crawled around on my hands a knees searching the apartment for it but never found it. S.O.S. cleaners and Sergio were recommended to me by a very precise friend when I was looking to switch my housecleaning team. From the first day and since, they have done an excellent job with my house, and I have 3 cats and a sweet but messy boyfriend...they keep me sane and have lots of nice touches, so much so that I feel like a visitor in my home when I return it's so clean. They are also great about special focused requests. Any complaints I ever see on Yelp have to take into account the clarity and communication and personality of the reviewer. These guys are great and competitive in their rates. I highly recommend them. read more

So skip forward seven months... and only one lady comes, but she's awesome. Until she asks you if you can get any more work for her (on the side) and lets fly how little she's getting of the total tab each cleaning. Awkward! And then... we left a check for $150 on the fridge for "move out cleaning." They were supposed to clean the place the day after we moved to LA. I'm pretty sure they just came and took the check because we ended up getting charged for cleaning by our rental company, the security deposit coming back a little smaller because "the kitchen was dirty." I called Sergio and he accommodated my scheduling problems, and the crew was ready to go when I got to the house. Professional Service, Affordable Price, Best Cleaners in SF!!! We needed an emergency cleaning of our apartment the Friday before NYE and Sergio and his crew came to the rescue. I understand that for the time of year many companies take a vacation/holiday but we appreciated their willingness to come out given our time of need. First off, let me say that he was the only one to call us back right away and was prompt, professional, and responded to the phone conversation with an email confirmation/quote which was re-affirming. We left messages for several companies that NEVER called us back. The aforementioned need: a squatter had broken into our apartment over the Christmas break and totally thrashed the place. Thank god the SFPD have him in custody and hopefully he'll do some serious jailtime! The police were quick and great but the drawback was that the CSI came in and left fingerprint dust everywhere leaving more of a mess. We removed all of the trash and debris from the unit ourselves and got a quote for a deep clean. Sergio quoted a pretty standard $30/per person per hour, and we estimated that for the square footage it would take about 2 hours. He sent a crew of two and it was spot-on...they left the place spotless and sparkling in just two hours! Thanks Sergio for helping us get back into our home in time for the New Year and at an affordable rate! We feel comfortable living in the same place this crazy crackhead was staying mere days before. I mean, he clearly used our shower, toilet, sink, bed and you left everything spotless and well sanitized. Now we can breathe and sleep easy!!!
