This was the second time I've used Vital. Again, I was thrilled with the work. My apartment was pretty dirty, since I hadn't had a deep cleaning since before the pandemic. Needless to say, there was plenty to do. Silva and Laura were great. I prepared things as much as possible. They went beyond and did the windows, inside and out in the kitchen, the stove and oven look brand new, and the fridge is spic and span. The floors were washed, the bed was remade, and all surfaces were cleaned. It was quick and very reasonable. I'll definitely use this service again. This time I won't wait as long. Once every month or six weeks will be great. The owner of the company only communicates through text, but he does get back and if you need a call, he'll do it. Also, I had the least expensive of the two services, and I also got $50 off as a special. Great deal! read more

Very pleased with this housecleaning service! I'm a busy professional and got so busy that I couldn't find time for a deep cleaning of my apartment. I'm clean/neat generally but I wanted someone to scrub floors, clean bathroom and kitchen and do some dusting. They have a discount for first time users which made the price reasonable. It was really easy to set up an appointment online and the cleaner was punctual. Best cleaned spots were the hardwood floors, oven, and bathroom. I asked for the blinds to be cleaned and paid extra but didn't look like they took them down and cleaned them. Window sill and top of fridge also weren't cleaned. I think overall it was worth it but may continue looking for another service for the details I noticed were lacking. read more

I'm so shocked at how bad the work was. Yes they are nice but nice doesn't make my place nice after paying them. I work in service industry so I tipped as I would regardless of work. But I am so frustrated at the work. If you missed something that's hidden, then fine. But how can you miss something right in your face. Such horrible work. Update: I called to make complaint. So it was nice they sent back 2 people to clean more. Here's the problem. Before they left first round, I did a simple inspection and saw there is some oil stains on stove. I called lady over. She says she couldn't wash it off. I said. It's oil. I scrap it with my nail. Came off easy. They recleaned it. It DID come off. Now...but they didn't finish! Lol they just scrubbed some off lol. Omg. Now.... After I called they sent back same lady and the man that was there. I pulled out my stove and said, "Look u didn't clean this. She says to me. "I can't pull out." I said if i can you can.. She says and I quote. "You can, I can't". Waving her hands I told her boss. He calls me back after speaking with her. He says she says she doesn't understand English well and what she was trying to say was she wasn't there for the first round of cleaning. This is FIRST time coming to clean. WTF. She lied! If she really wasnt here the first time, why did she have to respond super defensive. She could've just knodded her head ask me what else is dirty. I even tipped her first round! Also she was the lady who told me they can't wash off OIL!!!!! Omgggggg!!! How are you going say you couldn't pull out the stove, when there was 3 and then 4 of u at the end to clean!!!!! So if u can pull it out, does that mean u don't have to clean it??? This is Moving cleaning. Everything has to be even more clean. I don't think they understand that. FAR BEYOND MY EXPECTATION! I've been trying to clean the excessive amounts of mold out of my shower for months now and I could never get it all out. Vital House Cleaning is AMAZING. They sent one cleaner and I can honestly say, he was the best. He was able to remove the mold from the shower tiles, the floor, and the ceiling. Literally, 50 minutes and everything in the bathroom was spotless. I know, crazy right? I tried cleaning the mold out and myself one time, and even though I was scrubbing for 2 hours, it was nowhere near the quality of work Vital House Cleaning can do. I'm a little torn about this review because I've used Vital House Cleaning before and they did an amazing job, were prompt and professional. However, this second time I had a cleaning scheduled for early morning so I could get to work on time, and they showed up 45 minutes late. I kept calling trying to get a response, I eventually texted the number and was told they were stuck in traffic. Even if this was true, I never received an email or phone call letting me know they were running behind (the office is also only 10 mins from my apartment, 20 on a bad day but they could have been coming from another cleaning). Then I come back and everything is fine, until I notice some new scratches on the hardwood floor where they tried to move a metal caddy by dragging it across the wood (it has wheels on the back and also is light enough to pick up). I know these are new scratches because of where the caddy was left (I moved it back in the pics) and there's dust from the wood next to the scratches. This is definitely going to be taken from my security deposit even though it wasn't my fault. The cleaning itself was good, but everything else just made me not want to use this service again. read more

A team of four from Vital House Cleaning came to my apartment this morning and I couldn't be happier. In less than two hours they spiffied up our loft, including washing the windows, the floors, a tile shower and kitchen. The kitchen was probably the worst part and it looks better than the day we moved in. Very professional, friendly and no problems. They arrived on time and did everything and more than discussed over the phone. Total cost for a one-bedroom/one-bath was $220, plus tip. I've hired cleaners in the past (hey, you have to when you move a lot!) and these guys are awesome. Finding a solid cleaning company off Yelp can be a bit of a gamble, but this totally paid off. I've used Vital House Cleaning to clean my bathroom a couple of times, and I was happy with the results. Claudeci was friendly and professional - he took off his shoes, cleaned everything thoroughly, and even took out the trash, all within 30 minutes each time. What kept this from 5 stars were a couple of minor things. Our shower curtain got slightly dirty after the first cleaning, but they exhibited good customer service in excusing the cleaning fees as a result. Also, we had some scheduling issues with our second cleaning where the time was moved up 4.5 hours earlier last minute, then they showed up 20 minutes earlier than that without prior notice when we were still removing stuff from our bathroom. But overall, my experience with Vital House Cleaning has been good and I'd use their services again! read more

Just tried it out for the first time today. Overall, the service was good because we needed a deep cleaning for sure. The woman and man who came were very friendly, though didn't speak any English (and my Spanish is awful), so it made communicating what parts of the house I wanted them to focus on a little tricky. BUT they did a really good job getting into nooks, under beds, in couch cushions etc, and spent about 3 hours at our place. I want to note that because time was almost up, the last room they cleaned was done very hurriedly (but also was the least dirty) so it's not too much of an issue. I only gave 4 stars because of the scheduling person we spoke to. The man quoted us $140 over the phone, and when the team was done cleaning, the woman told me her boss had said it should be $170. Because I realize this was not her decision, I paid it because I think she did a really good job. But I don't appreciate having been quoted one price and then having it switched. If we do decide to use this service again, I will make sure to have any phone discussions written in email beforehand, and specify what areas of the house to focus on so her boss can pass those along. read more

I was looking for a house cleaner to come for a full service cleaning for my 1 bedroom loft. I searched on Yelp and was impressed by the photos and the $50 off special. I called in and spoke with them about what I needed and were very consultative and helpful. I ended up scheduling a cleaning for the next day. The two cleaners arrived on time and were very polite. I ended up having to do a little work at home while they were cleaning and they were very nice and quiet. This experience was truly five stars and I would recommend Vital to any of my friends. Super satisfied. I booked them for a move-out cleaning. Not only was the price really good but the cleaning was actually extremely thorough and I couldn't be more pleased. Additionally, they were extremely accommodating when my building notified me only one day prior to my scheduled cleaning that they were going to have the water off for plumbing repair. This company has provided me with last minute move-out cleaning (of a 1500 square foot, messy flat), as well as continuing housekeeping services on my new unit (which is a three-story 1800 square foot loft. 60 steps up, on the top floor.) I had no idea the mess my roommate had left (I had already moved out). The floors were caked in some disgusting mess. Lucas was invaluable: communicative, understanding, not to mention very professional, non-judgemental (I had two cleaners walk out on the same day). This was done at the very last moment, and they were able to clean the unit with the other roommates' stuff still in the way by moving the things around them as they worked. Lucas, the manager, also worked, and I'd never met the man before, but it's unusual and very much appreciated when the manager is hands-on and helps with the cleaning himself. Overall, this was by far the most professional and effective team I've ever worked with (and I've worked with a lot.) The unit was left spotless and I will be receiving 100% of my security deposit, so whatever I paid them, I'm getting it back in full. I'm continuing their housekeeping service, as they've already far exceeded my expectations. The cleaners they sent for my new home were excellent, friendly, and professional. I gave them a tip not because of obligation, but I was excited to have such a great team to clean my home, either weekly or biweekly (I haven't yet decided). One of the benefits of using them is that I don't have to guide them through every step of the way; they know what they're doing without me holding their hands. I have never worked with this team, but with countless others before. They just happened to respond to my inquiry immediately with an industry-leading price. I don't write yelp reviews often, but I felt that I had to for such superb service. Keep up the good work, and I hope you've very successful in your business. I know I will be using your services. Anybody using somebody else should take a look at these guys. They're no hassle, hard-workers. Enter Vital Housecleaning. They cleaned.... EVERYthing. Corners, crevices, above stuff, below stuff, inside stuff - EVERYTHING! They work efficiently and thoroughly. I know that no matter WHAT I would do, there is no way I would do half the job they do. We've had them come on a monthly basis for two years now and are consistently impressed with the quality of their work. Any special services? No problem, just let 'em know. I had a gnarly mold civilization starting to grow on my bathroom ceiling (like, one that had gotten so advanced that it learned to use tools), mentioned it in passing as they were coming in and I was going out, and came back 45 minutes later to see my ceiling bright as new (dear mold: let that be a lesson to the rest of you!). This review is a few months delayed. I don't know what I missed compared to all of these other reviewers, but this cleaning service is AWFUL. I was here and saw how they cleaned, and it was really just not cleaning. They were incredibly pricey, and yet they left my apartment dusty and dirty to the point where I had to pay someone else to fix it. We were just moving into our apartment and the fridge was empty, but after they were done it still stunk. I asked one of the women to check it out. She sort of shrugged and said she would do it again, which included a little bit of wiping down here and there before she left. Unfortunately, I had to have another cleaning service come and ACTUALLY clean, at which point that one pulled out the shelves in our fridge and found old refried beans from the last tenant. How, when your job is to clean, does that not bother you? I think that experience sums it up. read more

I was away on vacation last year for a month and received an Airbnb request from someone to rent my apartment. Not wanting to turn it down, and knowing my place was a mess, I panicked to find a company that could get the place ready for an Airbnb guest. I was very weary of FedExing the keys to my apartment to someone I had never used before to clean it, but after talking Lucas a few times my mind was put at ease that my apartment would be in good hands. It was a great feeling walking into such a clean apartment at 2am after flying back on a delayed flight from the east coast. The apartment was thoroughly cleaned, sheets and towels were changed, and everything was put into place. My expectations were far exceeded. They even fan-folded the towels like they do at a hotel! I have used Vital Housecleaning several times since then and each time they have been on time, consistent, and done a great job. Incredible. For real. You should definitely hire Vital. They deep cleaned my studio, full kitchen / bath, while I went out of town and took it to the next level. I can home and had the biggest sigh of relief and happiness because my place was so so so clean. They even washed some of my dishes, deep cleaned the stove, organized my shoes and my bathroom mirror storage, cleaned my windows and floors, made my bed, vacuumed everything, removed all of the dust and dirt that had settled on the baseboards, window panes, top of the fridge, took out the trash, etc. Seriously my place has never been this clean before. For the past ~6 months Vital Housecleaning has been very good to me. I live in a rather large Edwardian flat with three roommates and about 10 rooms in total. They are not the cheapest option available but they are rock-solid thus far. Franko schedules the cleaning team and speaks English well. I can usually schedule a visit within the next two days if necessary. Vanessa and Jaqueline always arrive on time. If you've never hired cleaning services in SF, listen when I say this is *extremely* rare. Other cleaning teams I've used either change the arrival time to suit their whim or fail to show up at all. Not the case with Vanessa and Jaqueline. Do be patient with the language barrier - they speak very little English and Portuguese is their native tongue. If you're like me you can use Google Translate on your mobile phone for specific things and they will do what you ask within reason. =] read more

I have tried so many different cleaning services in San Francisco, and I'm always disappointed. I've used Handy, and it's inconsistent at best. Vital House Cleaning costs around 20% more than a standard cleaning service, but they do a REALLY awesome job. Sometimes before they come, I'm thinking about how the bathrooms need to be cleaned or how the kitchen floor is dirty or other obvious things like that. They show up, I let them in, and I go into another room to get some work done. I walk in to see if they need something to drink, and I find that the stove is taken apart as they clean every piece of it, the blinds and windows are being cleaned, and they're scrubbing corners of my apartment that I didn't know exist. Oh wow. It's like I live in a new apartment. Things were getting a little... well... let's just say my roommate and I are much more "spot cleaner" than "deep cleaner" when it comes to things like ovens and stoves, blinds and cabinets. It was time for a thorough scrubbing, and Vital Housecleaning spruced our place up and left it cleaner than we've ever seen it. Ever. Much cleaner than when we moved in. Remarkably, magically, incredibly cleaner than it was yesterday. They even located a Dutch oven we hadn't seen for months and believed had been stolen by elves or something. But no. The cleaners left and there that Dutch oven was, back on its shelf as though it had never gone anywhere. I highly recommend these folks. Lucas is friendly and efficient. I've tried different housecleaners through the years, and these guys are amazing!! Just had an initial clean with them, and they left my place completely spotless. They are super thorough, while working fast, which is a rare combination. AND they take off their shoes too before entering your place. It's something that has always bothered me with housecleaners in the past. Price-wise, they are on the higher end of competitive - but I am willing to pay a tiny bit extra for a great job. I've paid ~$20 less in the past, but have seen dust bunnies and places that "should have been cleaned" but weren't. That was not the case with them! They did some baseboard work, clean my doggie's bowls too. Silva had me check through to make sure I was satisfied and I was. So let's just say I'm really picky, and I give these guys 2 thumbs up. I've used Vital House Cleaning multiple times and they've been amazing! The most recent time is when I was moving out and they were able to clean the entire apartment very thoroughly in about 2 1/2 hours. Granted, my place is a bit smaller but I was extremely happy with the result! I would give them 5 stars but the only minor issue is that they came about 50 minutes later than discussed and I came home early just to let them in. I've been using this service for years. They are reliable and thorough. My friends are always amazed by how clean my house is. They go the extra mile and do things that would never occur to me. I have pets and they've been great with them. They're very flexible about scheduling. I have a regular appointment but when I have house guests they are always able to come at a different time. They're also fast. The few times that I've been forced to be at home while they work I'm amazed at how quickly they come in, get the job done and are gone. Without cutting corners. They showed up 15 min. late and didn't get started until 20-25 min after the scheduled time. I had a lot of dust on the walls from my new renovation project which they did a mediocre job of wiping everything down. I had asked them to wipe the tiles down in the bathroom, but ended up having to re-wipe them down myself after they left. 2.5 hours later and $250 bill, I feel like I could have done a better job myself. Vital Housecleaning seems to be going through some set of issues as of early 2014 based on my recent experience and some other Yelp reviews in terms of communication, capacity, consistency. It may also be they've gotten so popular they just follow through for whomever they feel like it and let go of the rest. Hard to tell. Talked to Franco a couple of days ago, who handles the scheduling. It took awhile to sort out with him that i'd had a service provide a thorough cleaning 5 weeks earlier, and went over the rooms i need cleaned - 2 bathrooms, 1 living room plus a long hall, 1 kitchen - until it seemed he got the list of rooms. He says he'll talk to his team, get back to me. Which he did within an hour or two after we talked. But he quotes me for a thorough cleaning first visit anyway - maybe his employer insisted, ok whatever i guess, but - for 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms not the list of rooms we went over. Maybe it would cost the same? On just the second contact it's already getting a little chaotic. So Franco says that now he has to talk with his employer one more time. Since it's late afternoon we agree it's fine if he calls me back the next day. As i'm posting this review it's now a day and a half after that second conversation and nuttin'. Housecleaning is a challenging business - probably more so than carpet cleaning which is just once in awhile - or pest control which is maybe only in an emergency - this is very physical work and a lot to coordinate. But the communication piece with the customer, along with things like showing up on time and being reliable, is as important as the cleaning. And that total package is what Vital Housecleaning has gotten such great Yelp ratings for - that's why i contacted them. But something is out of whack at least for now on the communication and coordination piece. So thanks, Franco - you know, maybe some other time in the future. Prompt, efficient, and easy to schedule. I am a procrastinator to the core and when I needed my apartment cleaned out before my move-out inspection Silvo and Vital House Cleaning came to my rescue. I called Monday and Lucas set up an appointment for a pre-inspection with Silvo for Tuesday afternoon. Silvo arrived at my apartment promptly and did a quick walk-through to hash out what needed cleaning and set up a time and price on the spot. We scheduled for 2-2.5 hour move-out cleaning with 3-4 cleaners for Wednesday at 2:30 for $140. I have a one bedroom apartment but I definitely did not finish cleaning out all my trash and recycling. My only reason for reducing a star is that they arrived half an hour early, thankfully I got off work early enough to let them in a little after 2:05. Silvo had arrived with 3 other cleaners and they got straight to work. They were done promptly at 4 pm and I passed my move-out inspection on Thursday with flying colors. I called Vital to understand what a deep clean would cover and it was great - everything I wanted to have done: blinds, floors, fridge, oven/stove, bathroom, all surfaces and ledges, interior windows, wipe down inside cabinets and drawers. They were able to give me a time the very next day after I called and quoted me a price. They arrived exactly on time, four people. Quickly scoped my apartment and then gave me a new more accurate quote. Then they went to work. The crew did a really great job and I am very happy I chose them! In the end they actually gave me a discount, not sure if it was because it took less time than they thought or what, but rarely does that happen when a business gives you a more true price after they quoted you something higher. You can learn a lot by how companies fix their mistakes, I'm really impressed! Coming originally to clean all the commons in our large house, the original girl seemed in a hurry and while everything else was immaculate, the kitchen floor and hardwood landing at the base of the stairs were left untouched. I called right after she left asking for some kind of credit for next time as a result of the oversight. Not only did they send two cleaners over the next day to take care of the floors, they also cleaned the cupboards and fridge at no extra charge and offered a discount on our next service. I never, ever write reviews. But this company is the bomb. They were super accommodating with schedule changes and the staff was friendly and helpful with the booking process. Additionally, the team did an AMAZING job with my apartment and made it look SPOTLESS - even in the rooms where no one was moving in or out.
