Milk tea has to be my guilty pleasure...and S-7 is one of my go-to places. My fave from S-7 is their "acai" or "a.cai" milk tea. At first I got confused by its name, as acai usually is the fruit...but that's the name for what is like a brown sugar milk tea here. I thought I mis-heard the cashier initially but it's spelled just like the fruit. I love that it's so creamy and it has the cheesy foam thingy. Sorry, it's hard to explain but it just adds so much more creaminess to the drink. I'm a creature of habit so I haven't gotten any thing else.. everything does sound and look good! First time and S7 Kapolei location. My go-to at other locations is usually a wintermelon milk tea but this time I wanted it blended like a smoothie. Phone ordered for 2 wintermelon milk teas blended, regular sugar, one with boba and one with half boba. Arrived and didn't realize they gave me one without no boba even though I specifically said half boba, a little disappointing but this is such a common mistake throughout any boba tea shop. Other than that the wintermelon milk tea blended drink itself was okay, i felt like it lost its strong flavor once it was blended and became extremely icy which shouldn't be the case considering i've had other blended wintermelon at other boba spots. We're visiting Hawaii and decided to come back to this place. The lady taking my partners order (we ordered twice) was rude. It would've been 5 stars but the way she was impatient was annoying. We were trying to figure out the number we used for rewards and she got so impatient that she annoyingly tapped the screen for us, we didn't even want to sign up for texts. S7 is located in Kapolei Shopping center near L&L. The parking lot is great and there's always spaces. We come here after dinner sometimes or when we want a quick boba fix during the day. I like that they're open a little later because we don't have too many dessert places open late on the West side. Inside there is no seating area, it's just grab-and-go. There are small trinkets on the inside that you can look at and purchase such as keychains, stationary, notebooks, etc. they're all cute and that's how they get you to spend more money. We came here after dinner today and there was only two people in front of us. We ordered an Oreo smoothie with boba. We've tried a couple other drinks before but we've been getting this one lately. The Oreo wasn't too sweet and it doesn't taste as milky or heavy if you were to get it from a fast food place. They only have one size (large) for most of their drinks but some are available in small, such as their milk teas. We usually only wait ~5 min for our drinks and the staff is very friendly. My oasis savior on a hot summer day in Hawai'i... Gosh what a summer we're having and I see it here as it's booming with crowds gathering for that cool sip! I was in the Ewa/Kapolei area which just happens to be right across the Skyline rail station on the free ride weekend and seriously not wanting to join the crowd though geez let's just see if it's feasible. Long story short I hopped on and off on each station and no food or drinks are allowed (understandably so) and this was the hot late afternoon...gosh I was so thirsty!! A station that someone had pinned actually was over 2 miles away omg and I was just curious of where it was and checked it out and took me here in Kapolei Shopping Center hahaha!!!! I had the Lychee Blush with crystal boba at 50% sweetness. It's a blended ice drink of green tea with lychee added. Has a slightly floral green tea flavor with a hint of natural lychee flavor. The "crystal boba" really isn't boba at all. It's not soft and chewy like the black boba balls are. It has the texture similar to the lychee strips some boba places have. It was not what I expected when I sucked it into my mouth, but it was good. The crystal boba had a slight sweetness to them. Together with the drink, it worked quite well. I wish I could turn it upside-down and shake the drink like places that seal the cup with that plastic film to disperse the balls throughout the drink instead of a clump of them sitting on the bottom. I'm not too fond of my first few sucks getting a mouthful of balls despite trying to stir it. Service was good. I would come back for this drink. It's my treat." Nuff said. Located in Kapolei Marketlplace next door to L&L Drive Inn, S7 Icy Bubble offers bubble tea, smoothies, milk teas, fruit teas, yogurt drinks and ice cream rolls. They originally started in March 2018 in Pearl City. They have grown and expanded to 5 more locations of Kalihi, Kapahulu, Wahiawa, Kapolei and the newest one in Aina Haina. My only experience was at their Kalihi location where it was not memorable - - I still have flashbacks of my Fresh Mango Icy Bubble where the mango chunks were so large that it wouldn't go through the straw. (strike 1) I also didn't care for the ambiance. It was pre-COVID so we dined in and was quite noisy with Chinese patrons at that time. Reminded me of being at a dim sum house. (strike 2) This time I went with an open mind, and I was utterly shocked when I walked in. It seemed more like an accessory store where they have LOTS and LOTS of trinkets all throughout the store. But I was more impressed with their LEGO display that featured Marvel superheroes, Superman, Batman, Pikachu and Pac Man ghosts, Mario and Cai Shen (God of Wealth). I was impressed with their extensive menu, but I pretty much wanted something standard, so I opted for the Classic Milk Tea Creamy with less sweetener. It wasn't that busy when we arrived, so it didn't take too long for us to get our drinks. After taking the obligatory photos, it was time to enjoy our dessert, but they currently don't offer dine-in, so we ended up walking in the marketplace while sipping on our drinks. I'm glad that I requested less sweetener because it was just right for me. Now that I'm older, I must watch my sugar intake, so I appreciated the barista acknowledging my request. To be frank, I'm no longer a fan of boba as you need to chew and chew. Next time I probably will ask to eliminate the boba pearls. I was also pleased with their customized sturdy cups as I don't care for those flimsy cups. Overall, a pleasant second experience with S7 Icy Bubble where I would be game to go back again. So I just had to get it again today, while my mom got the small Yogurt Avo (without any toppings). I've also tried the Signature Milk Tea before, as well as the Nice Uncle Milk Tea, which is brown sugar milk tea with boba, custard pudding, and azuki beans. Both were good, and I remember that the custard pudding was soft, sweet, and creamy. Depending on what time you come, like when the kids are out of school, the line could get kinda long. However, the line moves fairly quickly, and they are pretty quick in making your order (maybe it takes about 5-10 minutes). I also think that the random stuff they sell are pretty cool and neat to look at while you're waiting for your drink. We actually bought some of their small, flat pillows today. When I first came here years ago, I remember that one of the workers was rude and she had a big attitude. That's why I hesitate coming here sometimes... Even though the rest of the workers who I encountered are fairly nice, I can't seem to shake off that feeling--especially since first impressions leave a lasting impression. Like a phone charger for my car and a fake Lego set haha... and it's so cheap! We came here after a kind of junk dinner experience at doraku. I usually get a regular milk tea with boba from here and it was the highlight of my night. I've tried the fancier drinks, but they taste very heavy and creamy and oily? I'm not sure how to describe it, but I stick with the basics when I go to S7. I've been to the Kapahulu and Kailua locations. There was even one in kalihi that I'm not sure is there anymore. There is always a lot of staff and they are very efficient. Even though there was a small line, it moved quickly and we got our drinks in a short amount of time. If you find yourself in this kapolei shopping area (next to Safeway), and are in the mood for a boba drink, this is your place to get one! I've always had good service when I've stopped by. Tried different drinks over the visits, most recently the yogurt mango drink. It was decent but not as good as cowcows. First of all, the AUDACITY to set your tip options to 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% - in what world does slow service and throwing attitude when a customer asks a question earn a FIFTY PERCENT tip? The only one hustling was the girl in the green shirt, this star is for you, boo. I like that this location is close to my home! Staff here is always so friendly when I arrive, even on nights it's packed. A few things to keep in mind: 1) You can't order more than 1 size. It's a 1 size fits all for smoothies (so I get my kids 1 to share) 2) Bring extra $$! They've packed their store from top to bottom with dollar store things. I love the drinks but the employees are horrible. There's a man I usually get at the cashier, usually has an earphone in, and he always seems miserable. He mumbles his words and when I ask him to repeat himself he rolls his eyes. On my first visit there they didn't have a place labeled for drink pick ups and so I just looked at the toys they had around the store and when some time had passed and wondering where my drink is they just pointed to it where it had been sitting. The store itself is pretty wild because they sell a lot of gift type items at very reasonable prices. It is worth a visit to check out stuff for sale even if you aren't going to get any drinks. So, like my relationship with the Pearl City location, it starts off rocky. Same gripe with the other spot, the menu had new items but no description. So I asked the cashier what that was about and he explained. I thought the drink would have brûlée foam and creamy cake walls but the drink clearly didn't look like any of that was goin on inside... I had already left and don't care for making a big deal over it. But that first impression wasnt the best. The shop is cute. Looks spacious but because of Covid, no seating available. Lots of trinkets and inexpensive gifts. The Lego wall is there. Looks like safety precautions are being taken with sanitizer and a barrier separation. I'm not sure if I'll be back, but I might have said that about Pearl City too lol. Its not in a part of Kapolei that's convenient for me to visit often. A friend of mine introduced me to this place. Not really hidden gem but I don't get out to Kapolei often anymore. That being said, I've been here 4 times since August so I figured I probably should write a review, yeah? I usually just get a store's signature milk tea the first time I try a new boba place. They have 2 sizes here, large and small. I couldn't tell you the oz. size but I've always just gone with large cause why not. On my first occasion, we didn't have to wait outside since it wasn't too busy, however shortly after going in a line formed. For Covid precautions, only 5 people are allowed in the store at one time and they usually stay in there while their drink is being prepared. ‍ guilty! So I cannot complain that I have to wait outside. While my drink was being made I took a look around and there is some fun stuff sold here! When I first came in, face masks and hand sanitizer was a hot commodity so there was a table with those items; fairly cheap too! We also saw a bunch a stationery and office supplies like pencil cases and colored pens/ pencils, chargers, table fans, etc. in the back there were puzzles and games. This store just has everything. But I digress. The menu boasts an array of milk teas, lemonade, rolled ice cream.. There's so much to try here so I definitely will be back. I've tried the midnight tea and afternoon delight in addition to signature milk tea. The boba is nice and soft, and it is one of my favorite boba to eat! The milk tea was good but I don't taste differences between milk tea from other places and it is a really nice go-to drink. The midnight tea and afternoon delight are fun cause there's a cheese foam with brown sugar on top. I really enjoyed the flavor that the brown sugar gave to the drink as well as the creamy foam. I keep forgetting to mix it up before I start drinking it. The difference is that the midnight tea has milk tea and the afternoon delight is just milk, and only available in the afternoon. It's just sounds like a fun, posh drink- "afternoon delight"... I sang a little song while I waited for it. With restrictions still limiting 5 people in the store, the guys and gals working here are quite efficient and wait time was very minimal for my drink! I was probably in and out in just about 5 or so minutes. I also finally got to use my gift card that I won through Instagram. Hoping to try something new again next time I visit.
