Came for dinner around 8:30 pm. Small place with some hard seating inside. Here's what I tried: * Pumpkin Curry with chicken: Sauce good, chicken was fine, but the pumpkin tasted off and was spit out. * Pad Thai with shrimp: Enjoyed this dish. Tasty. Sauce was perfect amount of sweet and sour. But shrimp could have been fresher. And noodles portion was very small. * Thai tea - Very sweet, some aftertaste, maybe needs less condensed milk and better balance. Portions bit on the smaller side. Service was average. Overall this place could have been 5 stars if they used fresher ingredients and had larger portions for the price. So its 3 stars. read more

We were in the Oceanside area looking for a Thai place, open later on a Friday night, and not too far from where we were and found Sabai. Yelp check in gives you a little deal to use, so that was nice. We called our order in but somehow there was confusion and it did not get placed. I happened to check after waiting about 15 minutes and discovered the error. The person that took our order apologized for the delay. There was a water dispenser which is nice for people who are waiting for their to go orders, and that night that was 75 % of the orders. There were 6 people waiting for to go orders and eventually we got our to go order. The food was good. It was cooked well, tasted good, looked good. Service was nice. Plenty of parking in the huge lot. Prices are comparable to other places. Convenient - not far from the 5 freeway. read more

This is the best thai spot in north county and might be my favorite in San Diego. The food here is soooo good and they know how to really bring true heat to food!! Service is quick and super nice. Okay yelpies, we were looking at some Thai for dinner last night and found this place on yelp. Ordered the chicken pad thai, chicken satay, and drunken noodles. Got some free eggrolls for ordering over $25. Culinary Chef Nyugen heads off this place. Overall, this place is mid, and here's why: The good: drunken noodles were ordered with level 3 spicy, and it was pretty spicy. Had a good kick to it. The not so good: The chicken satay was super dry, pad thai had the essence of chicken (and the smaller carton was filled 40% of the way with bean sprouts, 60% with pad thai). The eggrolls took over 13 minutes addition to make, since they didnt drop them in, so sitting in a mostly empty restaurant on a saturday night. Lots of to go orders though. Lastly, lets quickly talk value, my order came out a little north of $50 which I get, but the shrinkflation compared to the photos in the yelp reviews is pretty egregious -- along with the bean sprouts. I mean what the deuce.. The takeout boxes are like half size to the white boxes in the yelp photos. Thai table (the adjacent shopping area over) seems to be a more authentic, and from what i could tell was packed on the Saturday as i drove by it by accident looking for this place. Trust the locals. Wow. Just wow. This place is hands-down my new favorite Thai restaurant in all of Southern California, from Thai Town in Hollywood to the San Gabriel Valley, Orange County, and now San Diego County. As someone who grew up on my grandma's home-cooked Thai food, I have high standards when it comes to authenticity, and this spot exceeded my expectations. I ordered a lineup of my go-to dishes to put this place to the test: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Crying Tiger, and Larb Chicken. Every single dish was on point. The flavors were absolutely mouthwatering, perfectly balanced, and seasoned just right. They asked me to choose my spice level (1-10), and since it was my first time, I went with a 5, but I also requested the red pepper and sauces on the side (because let's be real, I like to customize my heat). I ended up adding more dry red pepper because that's just how I like it, and I loved that they gave me a fresh wedge of lime to squeeze on top for that extra punch of flavor. Not only was the food incredibly authentic, but the service was also on point. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. This place completely surpassed my expectations. In fact, it just knocked my favorite Thai spot in Long Beach down to third place, and I never thought that would happen! Ordered here few times now and they haven't disappoint. Food was pretty good and customer service was good. The lady in the counter was nice when I had picked up my orders. Spice level is your own call. I did a 8/10 spice level and that was pretty spicy for me. Overall, I recommend and will order from here again. Oh and I order their curry fried rice and it was so good! Today i ordered the chicken wings i wasnt to happy with the size if the wing for the price flavor was lacking, i will say its a thai restaurant didnt come there for the wings. Do not sleep on their chicken and rice soup. It's is absolutely perfect--piping hot (even through delivery), flavorful, and with slices of fresh ginger!! I have been to this restaurant several times and have liked its dishes. However, recently I visited this restaurant two days ago and was disappointed both by food and service. I ordered herbal tofu. What I got was a dish full of tofu and no vegetables. Tofu was dry and chewy and I had trouble eating and swallowing. On complaining I did not get any sympathetic response. To eat tofu, I have to order green curry. In essence, after this unpleasant and expensive experience, I have decided to never visit it again. My experience with this place isn't in person. I got a pad Thai dinner through uber eats. The portion was decent. The food was hot and fresh. The flavor was ok but unremarkable. There weren't a lot of meat or veggies. Kinda disappointed there. I like super hot. I ordered a 9 out of 10 on the spice scale. I expected spicier. Been here twice. It's a small Thai restaurant on Oceanside Blvd. They do not serve alcohol but looks like they applied for a license to serve. My first experience was a 4 Star then my 2nd was meh... Food: Pad See Ew with Tofu Fried Chicken with Spicy Sauce Yellow Curry with Chicken Sticky Rice Papaya Salad The pad see ew and sticky rice were delicious. The first time i ate the chicken wings it was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. I tasted the yellow curry and although it was just alright, I prefer panang instead. This last visit I ate the papaya salad and in all honesty, I will never order this again. The papaya was drowning in fish sauce. We barely put a dent in it and didn't take it home. I also ordered the wings again and this time around the wings were not cooked all the way through. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front counter. He offered to remove the wings from our bill but we said he didn't need to as we ate around the area that was cooked. We moved away to Irvine from Carlsbad, where we'd eat at the restaurant/order on Uber once a week, at least. Sabai Sabai is located in the same little shopping center as Dunkin Donuts and Kampai Sushi. There's plenty of parking spots but it can get crowded during dinner time. The restaurant is quaint and the staff really friendly. Ordered the Panang Curry with beef and chicken Pad Thai. The Panang Curry was flavorful and had lots of meat. However, the Pad Thai was a big disappointment since it was unusually dry. It's clear they didn't add enough sauce when preparing it. Not sure I'd come back since the Pad was a dud. read more
