Ordered takeout via door dash. Was excited to try this place since it had rave reviews, is close by and offers Massaman curry. Takeout service was simple. They were on time but no one was there. Appeared to have people waiting on utensils as well. Ambiance was clean but they plan to renovate the decor soon and will only offer takeout. I thought that was a cool compromise. Food was delicious. Massaman was spicy enough at a 4/10. I am sweating from eating it! Still fragrant and full of spices and flavors. I ordered their pad thai and that was delicious as well. I'll give the Thai Garden this: their food is good. We got the yellow curry and Kra Pow, both with chicken. The flavors were on point. That's where the positives end, however. The service leaves much to be desired. When the portable POS device failed to print my receipt after payment, I went up to the counter to get a copy. After some difficulty I was given a copy of the credit card bill, not the itemized receipt that I wanted. When I asked for it, she said under her breath, "so much trouble", and further blamed me for not choosing to print the receipt during payment. I did, but their portable device didn't. (Ask the gent who first tried to help me and see the roll of paper sticking out of the device.) She couldn't get the machine to print it, so she wrote down the line items on a piece of paper. That's when I saw that we were charged $7 for the Thai iced tea, which the menu we were given showed $5. When I inquired, she insisted that's how much it costs. Before we left the restaurant, I checked one of their menus. This one had the original price taped over with a handwritten "$6". So, a dollar more than on the menu we were given but still a dollar under what we were charged. This episode soured our dining experience here. A restaurant is more than just tasty food. I sincerely hope for other patrons' sake that their service catches up to their food. read more

This place is owned by mom and daughter very family oriented. Hands down FRESH Thai food made per order. I was able to try the Tom Kha (soup), Tom Yum (soup), Pad Sew Ew and Pad Wo Sen, egg rolls, and meatballs. Everything is so delicious full of flavor. This is my family's favorite spot for Thai food. You can personalize the spice level for any of the dishes and they provide additional chili sauces at your table. The service is quick, kind and quality is consistent every time we've visited. Our favorites are the red curry, pineapple fried rice, wonton soup and fried wontons. We've also ordered catering and the quality is as good as dining in and you can see and feel the care and attention in their dishes. I highly recommend. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant! Fresh and delicious Thai food at a very reasonable price. I had shrimp spring rolls and the chicken Penang curry. It was all so incredibly good and I had plenty of leftovers. This place is family owned and run by Nang and her daughter Macy. They are very welcoming and treated me like royalty! I was told they bought it about 6 months ago and updated all the menus. Nang is an amazing chef and it's apparent how much she loves to cook and share good food with her customers. This is a really solid thai restaurant, period. Definitely some of the best yellow curry I have had. It was super flavorful and the carrot and potato and onion that was included wasn't undercooked. I will definitely be coming back just to get this again. Their pad thai was solid, too. I wish there wasn't so many bean sprouts, but it was pretty good! I also loved their thai tea. Perfectly sweet. If Cheers Bar (TV show from the 1900s ) was an actual place, this would be ours. Chet knew my husband by name, even outside the restaurant, and we're treated like family when we're there. Thai Garden was one of the first Thai restaurants we visited after moving to Oceanside in 2006. The quality of food and hospitality have kept this small business one of our favorites. For example, before retiring, my husband would call-in on his way home from work and Chet would bring his order to the car because he couldn't be out in town wearing the USMC uniform. Small acts like that have provided a welcoming experience, with a homestyle flair, for our family. And if you're far from your actual family, it's those small things that are very comforting. This last visit, we ordered the usual with a variation: chicken pad see-ew, garlic pepper pork, and crab fried rice. We also ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert (not pictured, I was too slow on the draw). Walked past this place and wanted to try it out, but my friends wanted to dine elsewhere. After we ate we came here for some boba. I had never had been here before so I was curious as to what would be good to order, I asked the worker and he showed me the list of flavors I could order. I chose the vanilla late boba, and wow was it good! It was perfectly sweetened and had a decent amount of tapioca pearls in it, not too many which was fine with me. Went here during Chinese New Year with my boyfriend and we had a good experience. The restaurant was empty when we walked in, but the restaurant was set up very clean and organized. We ordered 2 dishes, sweet and sour pork and spicy seafood mix to share. It comes with a traditional, communal rice bowl. We enjoyed our food thoroughly- everything was very saucy. The seafood was very good, not too spicy. The sweet and sour dish was a tad too sweet, but still good. The service was very friendly and homey. I love that when I hesitated on what beverage to get, our seRver suggested Thai tea - I love Thai tea! And the fact it comes in a cute jar makes it all the better! read more

I was craving cashew shrimp and decided to give this place a try. The gentleman talking my to go order was kind and sweet which is always a plus. Once I was home and ready to eat I noticed that the cashews seemed to have just been thrown on top which was disappointing, considering I used to them actually being cooked in the dish. Also to my dismay when taking the 1st couple of bites I noticed a rather sweet taste on my tongue and quickly realized there was pineapple in the dish.... shocked I re-looked at the menu to see if it did in fact say pineapple.... and yes it did... how did I miss this I don't know.... I can't stand fruit in my meals... Unless it's a fruit salad.... so of course I spent a few minutes picking out all the pineapples....and man was there a lot. Now, just because I don't care for them doesn't mean others would detest. Besides the fruit, I will say that the flavors were rather good, and for choosing a level 6 of spicy it definitely provided a kick. Hankerin' for a lunch salad, the wife came up with a wild idea to find it at a Thai restaurant. I didn't think we'd find an entre style "salad" that she was looking for, but we did find my Larb. We have eaten here many moons ago; but since we are not real big Thai food fans (we like it, just don't frequent it) and were on the way to do some afternoon shopping and decided to see if we could find the "salad". The purveyor here reminded us of the bar owner character (Jimmie) in the movie "Good Morning Vietnam". Super nice guy and very attentive. Traditional Thai salads don't use lettuce. Instead they are cold (or cooled) meats with onions, cilantro, mint and chilis. Wikipedia says this, "Thai salads often do not have raw vegetables or fruit as their main ingredient but use minced meat, seafood or noodles instead". Good stuff if you know what to expect. We had our salads and another plate of Garden Ribs. Huge portion of ribs and the menu recommended pairing with the 'sticky rice'. We actually preferred the regular steamed rice.
