I got a signed contract to do cement work around my pool at a high price I might add on April 16, the day before the job was to be done on June 16 they notified me they did not have the ability to do the job. This is after someone came out and physically evaluated the work that needed to be done on April 16,2021. Why did they tell me two months later they could not do the job. Terrible service, a big waste of time, and to top it all the price I got was high and thought they would do quality work. This is an update to the last post. Raymond, Brandon and Kevin corrected the foundation at my parent's home. My parent's were very happy and impressed with the work. -My parent's were given a full presentation folder, which included detailed pictures of what needed to be corrected. -They were told the work would be done in 5 days, but they completed it in 3. -They were very happy with how conscious they were of cleaning up every day. My dad is a neat freak so that's a huge compliment to the guys and Saber for hiring polite and conscientious employees! We would definitely recommend Saber! read more

Saber was responsible for installing helical support piers around a couple edges of the house. From what I can tell, the work was done well, but that isn't saying anything, because it's all buried. I will, however, review the way they treated the rest of my house. I bothered to go in the house during the work to check on something else, and noticed that my bathroom wreaked. I lifted the toilet, and saw many people's worth of poop in my toilet. And since they had the water shut off, there was nothing I could do. So when they were finally done and used the last flush left, literal poop stains were left behind. To make matters worse, both of my toilets were stuffed with non-disposable towels and rags, some of which were also poop-stained. Seriously guys, you're getting paid thousands to do the work, the least you could do is rent an outhouse. With the amount paid, you would expect some respect for the home, but I got poop instead. Now I need some kind of deep cleaning of the toilets, and likely new flooring. Will they pay for it? I highly doubt it! (Though I will update if they do) If you need non-residential, or non-interior work, maybe they're fine, but don't let them into your house. Very unprofessional. Edit: Not putting the carpet back was in the contract, so I rescinded those remarks. This may be my realtor's fault for not informing me, but I guess that is neither here nor there. read more

Hired Saber based upon my discussions with their Sales representative. I do believe in the technology and they definitely sounded like the top professionals in this technology. Eventually had a contract to do a total of 8 push piers around the back of my house due to settling issues. Without going into too much detail and making a huge story out of this, I do not recommend them for the following reasons; 1) Sales rep advice is not in line with their engineering/contractor knowledge. I know this because the sales rep was telling me to place a pier every 6 to 8 ft. Turns out (during a later conversation with their head contractor) 6 to 8ft is an over-exaggeration and not necessarily needed unless, and possible only if, you are lifting your house, which I was not. Ultimately it seems like 10 - 12ft apart would have worked for my application but I almost paid double the price following the advice of the sales rep (I did not do engineering, was doing it more as a precautionary measure). Another discrepancy is the sales person mentioned I cannot have a pier on a corner, it must be a certain distance away from the corner (something like 2-3 ft). The contractor on site ended up placing one exactly on the corner of my house, and I really don't know who is right. 2) Bolting the piers to the brackets that are installed underneath your foundation cost extra and are not included in the price for the pier. Basically they need you, or an engineer, to tell them to do it and will then charge for it. 3) I am not sure if this is on every job, but they did not smooth the contact points enough (don't want to accuse them of not doing it at all, because I was not there). So basically I have this bracket sticking about 2 inches away from the actual foundation slab due to rock and aggregate sticking out from the foundation that was not cleaned/jack hammered away. . I would expect for the money (not cheap at all) that they would at least take the time to clear that 1-2 inches to reach the actual foundation slab in order for that bracket to have firm contact. Couple this with the lack of bolts there might be an issue if a decent earthquake happens. 4) They charged me for breaking the concrete that ultimately wasn't necessary to break. I was supposed to put two piers underneath my chimney, and when they cut the concrete and dug, they found out that the chimney doesn't have a solid foundation, so they could not put any piers there. We had to put one pier on the side of the house (using the same hole they dug) and another completely eliminate. I ended up paying for the cutting job anyways even though they encouraged me (sales rep and contractor) to install piers underneath the chimney. When it came down to it they didn't take responsibility for realizing the chimney foundation and just wanted their money for time spent. Not professional. 5) I had a major issue with saber after the job was done because they placed two piers roughly 13 feet apart with a chimney in the middle. This ultimately caused me to halt payment release until I got some satisfactory explanation for doing something they all along were advising against (the whole spacing between the piers, chimney support, etc.). When I spoke with their head of construction they assured me it would work as is and the sales people are just trying to make money (wow, what a statement!). Even though they warrantied and guaranteed their work, it really makes me question everything they have been telling me as the regular home owner all along. Extremely disappointing. 6) This was a shocker as well. When the sales folks arrive they do a great job at selling their experience. Unfortunately I come to find out that the foreman on my job, working on my homes foundation, only has two years experience. To be honest I do not know if he meant construction in total or specifically foundation work with piers. But either one is concerning. Ultimately, for the price I expected much more. If I had paid half of what they were charging I wouldn't have given it much thought but their services are expensive! read more

We had a big issue to deal with in our home involving chemical foam injection into the space between the ground and our concrete slab foundation, a decision we made after meeting with many consultation companies and 3 different certified engineers. Nait and Rick showed up on time each day, and got to work immediately. Compounding the problem was that half of the job involved drilling through tile that we wanted to keep and the roughly 3/16" holes penetrating that material had to be made in such a way as to minimize damage to the tile and preserve an attractive appearance. They had to drill hundreds of holes and they did very little apparent damage. Nait was the project foreman, and he was polite, courteous and very respectful of our home and time. He explained any concerns and ensured that his crew worked cleanly and carefully. The crew cleaned up each after themselves each day, and devoted a number of hours on the last day to ensure that our home was a clean as possible when the job was finished. Nait made a number of helpful and minimally expensive suggestions to ensure that the work yielded the results we were hoping for. While it will be a few weeks before we will know if that is the case, we are very optimistic, and I will update after we check our slab for moisture. It has been a really long time since we first discovered our problem and we are hopefully seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but we are very happy with the quality of work that was performed by Nait and Rick of Saber Geotechnical Construction Solutions. read more

Update from my previous review. After my 1-star yelp review I did get a fairly immediate response from Saber. I had a long discussion with their representative who listened to my concerns and was very patient with my frustrations. He assured me that they were taking our project seriously and immediately scheduled a team to come back out and provide a new dehumidifier and perform any necessary cleanup of the liner. I am so happy to have found saber. I had gotten 2 bids on different ways to fix our awful cracking driveway. Saber has this polylevel product that they shoot into small drill holes. The product fills in the voids below to stabilize the driveway and lift it. They did a great job on our huge driveway and carport. After the stabilization they filled the cracks with special filler. We are so happy with the result. Now we will get our painter out for a finish color. With saber we spent less than 25% the cost of the other bids. Wow!! That makes us super happy. read more

I called Saber to help me with rainwater that was coming through a stem wall on the lower level of my home. They did not complete the job, they only covered 90% of the wall where water was coming in. I talked to the guys doing the job and they said it was too hard for them to dig it out - despite the fact that their sales guy telling me it would be done. When it rained, more water came in. When I called and tried to get them to come out and fix it, they kept rescheduling my appointment instead of coming to do it. read more

Saber knows how to handles it customers... the old-fashioned professional way!! From setting the appointment, to following up with information by mail, to the technician phoning me the day of my appointment. I was assigned Dan Froelich and he is your guy! I'm remodeling my moms' home which was built in the 1930's, but was concerned about a few cracks and a sticky door. We walked around the home exterior and I pointed out some concerns. His comments were insightful and immediately put me at ease. Dan's keen observations and ability to explain clearly and in layman's terms helped to bring the scope of my project into perspective. Some areas I was worried about were simply cosmetic and stucco related (The long-neglected stucco exterior will be next on the repair list). With the aid of device used to measure pitch differences around the home interior (called a manometer), he was able to identify areas that had settled. Dan's observations, not only of the foundation, but of how the home was modified after it was built helped explain an issue I was having in the entry-way. Thanks to Dan keen insight, he pointed out some tell-tale evidence that the entry-way used to be the front porch and was simply enclosed at some point. This made sense, and explained why the entry-way materials were different from the rest of the home and there was a different pitch in this area. I have 100% confidence in Sabers ability to do the job right and will look no further. The Saber team was great. A few minor glitches that did not effect the outcome. The sales guy identified the problem with water intrusion into the concrete, rusting the re-bar and splitting the concrete foundation. He advised they would open the wall, remove the rusted re-bar and replace it with graphite fiber re-bar, which does not rust. I pointed out that in his documentation this re-bar was made by Corning Glass, which usually supplies fiberglass products. He corrected himself and said, yes it was fiberglass rods. About 5x difference in cost, BTW. The team came out about a week later and started to open the foundation wall. One of their staff members became ill with hypoglycemic shock, so I gave him some soda and cookies to help him recover, but he had to abandon the site. I felt very sorry for his predicament. Saber replaced both team members the next day and they did a superb job, replacing the re-bar with fiberglass rods (very strong and no rust). They got the job done in time and with no upselling or confusions. I would recommend them and use them again. read more

Very poor customer service! I would definitely not recommend this business to anyone and have already steered two of my neighbors from doing business with them. I met with one of their sales representatives to assess a some cracks along the seam of my walls. After shelling out almost 5K and approving the work recommended by them to resolve the issue, the problem was not resolved. After the cracks got bigger, I complained and they sent out "Josh" who gave me the run-around for a couple of months. After promising to refund my money, I receive an e-mail from him several weeks later denying me a refund. I should have known of their shady business practices when I was advised by them to not obtain a permit from the city to verify their work. I am extremely upset of their deceitful tactics and promises. Please don't fall for their tactics and look elsewhere because they will not stand by their work. I should have listen to the negative reviews posted on this site. I will also be filling a complaint through the Better Business Bureau! read more

I'm very pleased with my experience with Saber. TLDR: The staff was awesome and the work was great! Paul (Design Specialist) walked us through everything. The way he explained things really set my mind at ease. It was a bigger project than I anticipated and he did a great job putting things into perspective. Tanisha (Project Manager) was super awesome. She made everything go super smoothly and made sure I had all the information I needed when I needed it. Justin (foreman) and crew (Richard and Gabriel) did the pier installation. They were an awesome and were communicative. They gave me status updates at the end of each day and I always knew where they were in the process and what would be happening the next day. Scott and crew (I can't remember the gentleman's name) took care of the PolyLEVELing. They were awesome and they did a great job drilling holes in areas that are hard to notice as well as doing a great job filling the holes. The day before they were to come they called to say their guy was sick and couldn't make it. The next available appointment was 4 weeks after that! Just for an estimate! We were noticing some shifting and foundation cracks at our mountain cabin. Our contractor was completely perplexed as to how to fix it. Someone recommended Saber and they came out within a week to assess the situation and gave us an estimate on the work. The price was totally reasonable and the solution was exactly what we needed. Our experience with Saber was great from start to finish. We discovered cracks in our slab foundation when starting renovations, and contacted a few companies. Saber gave a great price -- although it seemed higher than a different company's quote, it was per pier and not per foot down the pier had to be pushed. Joe and his crew did a really amazing job putting in the piers. He's easily the most professional contractor I've worked with. He communicates what is going on at each stage of the project and encourages questions (and for us to watch/video what they're doing). We recently purchased an old home built here in Temecula back in the 1920's. The home has heavy 18" adobe walls and we noticed that the floor in one of the guest bedrooms was slanting rather significantly. The room is roughly 16 feet wide, and the floor dropped over 5 inches from one side of the room to the other. Because of the age of the house, we decided against using jacks or any other mechanism to raise the side of the house that was sinking. Instead, we went ahead with our plans to remodel the bedroom and adjacent bathroom, building up the flooring so that it was roughly level as you walked from one room to the next. However, we still had to deal with the fact that the foundation had settled more than 5 inches over the life of the house. We called in Saber and consulted with them about adding piers to prevent the foundation from sinking any further. On February 15th, Eric Aguilera and his team (Matt and Miguel) showed up to install 4 helical piers. Eric and his team arrived at the expected time, they were courteous and polite, they did everything in their power to cause minimal disruption to the areas that they worked in, and they did a great job of cleaning up after they were finished. Overall, I had a great experience working with the folks at Saber. Adam Moore, Scott Sutterfield, Eric and his team were all professional and courteous. There was no hard sell. There was no scaring us into thinking that our house was collapsing. Now, I'm just hoping Saber can come back and work on the HOA-owned land on the north side of our house... :-) read more

This is a business that specializes in 'low lying fruit' - i.e. suckers who don't know better. First of all there is their policy to not make an appointment with you for at least 3-4 weeks after you call. They say it is because they are so busy, but really it is their gimmick. They do this so that you will have seen other companies first and will be so exhausted by the process of trying to get bids that you will just take the last company to come thru. And they have polished emails and videos all lined up to convince you why it is worth waiting for them - part of their delay tactic. Right there you should know you are being gamed. By the time the guy actually came, he basically just took measurements and then gave me a low bid based on the linear foot. He had no specific plan for the hollow concrete blocks my foundation is made up of. When I asked him about it he hemmed and hawed, even though he had worked for the company for seven years. In essence they do one cookie cutter solution for everything apparently, which may or may not work for your problem. I asked him if he could consult with someone else in the company and get back to me. He said he would but never did. We ended up having CXC Contracting do the work and they did a great job. Very specific solution. Oh yeah, they knew the hollow concrete blocks and filled each one, for about equal low price. read more

The front wall of our house, and the front porch, were sinking, which resulted in a large horizontal crack in the outside wall, just above the foundation, as well as cracks on interior walls and ceiling. We got quotes from three different foundation repair companies. We chose Saber partly because they offered the best price, but mostly because they seemed to have the best technology and appeared to understand the nature of the problem better than the others. They were the only company to quote us on fixing the exact problem we had, and not propose tens of thousands of dollars of ancillary work that didn't actually address the problem. Saber's proposal was to drive piers into the soil beneath the house and jack up the raised foundation onto these piers, which made sense to us. We paid them not only for that work, but also for the services of a third-party engineer whom they hired on our behalf, permitting, city inspections, and so forth. We signed the papers agreeing to the work on October 28, 2013. Saber assured us, repeatedly, that the work be completed by the end of December. And we obtained a home improvement loan to pay for the work, which was valid only until February 25--seemingly plenty of time. But from November through February, the project encountered one delay after another. For example, the engineer was at least three weeks late in submitting the original plans (after not seeing the plans in mid-November as I expected, Saber said they'd arrive "by 11/22," but they didn't appear until 12/12). Then the city requested changes to the plans (twice), and each iteration of engineering and permitting took far longer than expected. At least half a dozen times, Saber promised to do or check on something and get back to me within a day or two, and then after a week or two with no contact, I'd have to ask for updates, and the cycle continued. The bulk of the work was finally done on February 12-13, 2014. But only when the workers were onsite did they tell me that it was impossible to install the sill plates the engineer had specified (for connecting the foundation to the wall) because of insufficient height in our crawl space. This required another round of changes to the plans and another round of permitting. However, the engineer had inspected our house in person and should therefore have known there wouldn't be enough space to do this in the first place. The work was completed on February 24, just one day before our loan expired. Another surprise was that a portion of our porch steps had to be jackhammered away to make room for the piers--no one ever mentioned anything about that before. That meant we had to later spend hundreds of dollars on concrete work to restore it. In addition, only when the workers were present was it suggested that polyurethane foam should be injected under the front porch, because the piers stabilized only the front edge of it, not the rest. We did that, at a significant extra expense, and it turned out to be a good thing, too, because there was a massive void under the porch that would have left it sinking and pulling part of the front wall with it. No one explained why that hadn't been proposed in the first place. The cost of the foam was nearly the same as the cost of the plates we were unable to install, so that part was a wash cost-wise. The fellows who did the actual work--the digging, pier installation, foam injection, and so on--were great. I can't in any way fault the quality of their work or their professionalism. Other than maybe being a bit haphazard with restoring the landscaping, they did their part of the job brilliantly. I can't complain (so far, anyway) about the stuff that actually happened to our house. However, I am not at all happy with Saber as a company. I was already unhappy about the repeated delays and failure to keep us updated, but one last mistake really upset me. Only on February 19, after the main portion of the work was done, did Saber send us an invoice for an additional $2,887. We were aware that there might be some slightly higher costs compared to the estimate, but of that amount, $2,037 was for Permits. The estimate we'd agreed to in writing, back in October, listed only $450 for Permits. When I inquired about the difference, Saber said that it was out of their hands, that the city had changed regulations at the beginning of the year to make permitting more expensive and they were just passing those costs along to us. However, no one mentioned anything about this to us at the beginning of the year, or before the work was done. If Saber had finished the job by the end of December as originally promised, presumably these fee increases wouldn't have applied. The delays themselves were bad enough, but the financial implications of those delays was worse, and the failure to inform us about them before sending us an invoice--after the work was done--was the worst part of all. read more

After the heavy rains of winter 2018 and 2019 numerous cracks developed throughout the walls and ceilings of our house. We started the foundation stabilization project with Saber which was completed today. The process was seamless as Saber took care of all the permitting and inspections. Eric and his crew were very professional throughout the whole process. Eric kept me informed and answered my numerous questions during the entire project.
