We placed our order around 6:50 PM. The man running the truck (the only one working) even commented about how slow business was. Despite that, by 7:40 we still hadn't gotten our food though several people who ordered after us had already been served. When my boyfriend checked, the guy said there was still "one person ahead of us" and that he'd bring the food over when ready. Around 8:00 PM over an hour later he finally came out with two sandwiches. But instead of what we ordered (one Classic and one Chicken Bacon Ranch), he handed us two Classics. When my boyfriend asked if one of them was ours, he said yes, but then immediately walked over and gave one of the sandwiches to another couple waiting. It seemed clear that he had completely forgotten about our order and just tried to hand us someone else's food. At that point, we were left with just one correct sandwich after waiting more than an hour. He told us he'd fix it quickly, and about five minutes later brought out the Chicken Bacon Ranch we had originally ordered. Earlier, he had offered us a refund because of the long wait, but when we asked about it after getting the corrected order, he became defensive and irate. He told us things like: "If you were in a restaurant you'd wait 30 minutes," (we had waited over an hour). and "Why would I refund you, you seem to be enjoying that sandwich just fine," (while we were sharing one sandwich because we were starving). He also tried to guilt us by explaining that he pays for everything himself and even asked for "compensation" despite the fact I had already tipped him 20% when we first ordered. Instead of apologizing, he raised his voice across the bar, made us feel like we were the problem, and then walked away mid-conversation. As someone who works in food and beverage, I know mistakes happen but the way you handle them is what defines good service. This was the exact opposite: poor organization, extremely long wait, wrong order, broken promises of a refund, and an worker who treated us rudely instead of professionally.

I told him that I was from Pittsburgh and we talked about how great the hoagies are from Pennsylvania. I ordered the Italian Hoagie. All I can say is Wow! This is hands down the very best hoagie I have ever eaten and I am now spoiled for all other hoagies. The bun was a poppy seed bun, very fresh. And the meets and cheese were high quality and extremely flavorful. They were freshly cut. The lettuce was at the bottom so when you bit into the hoagie all the toppings didn't fall off. The onions were shaved nice and thin and the seasoning were perfection. This sandwich was BIG and loaded with meats, cheese and toppings. It was a little hard for me to find this place, but don't give up. It is totally worth it. Parking is limited. There is one table inside and two tables outside for dining. This is mostly a take out place. The menu has all kinds of hoagies sure to meet anyone's taste. They also have chips and drinks available. The hoagie was a but pricey, but for the high quality it was worth it. I will definitely be back for more. I highly recommend.

There were 4 open spots at the bar, so when we *finally* found the host, we asked if they were first come, first served. He told us there were two people coming and that he'd let us know. After waiting probably 10 min, he finally agreed to seat us at the bar (the 2 other people never showed up). So, there we sat...and sat. Bartender finally comes by and plops a bottle of water in front of us. Doesn't say hi / bye / or eff you (although she definitely gave off the latter vibe with her body language). After sitting there another 10 min and not being acknowledged whatsoever, I got fed up. Stood up, told my girlfriend I had had enough...and I flat out refused to give my money to an establishment that treats their customers in this manner. Honestly, I grew up in the Lowcountry and I can tell you that *most* restaurants/bars/shops/etc. in Charleston feature employees who are generally gracious/friendly/hospitable/helpful. Then, on occasion, you run into places like this. How they stay in business has to be a function of location alone, because their service is absolutely horrible! Will advise anyone who will listen to avoid this place at all costs!

It was the kind of evening you hope for when you are in the Lowcountry, with a light breeze, twinkling lights, live music, and the smell of wood smoke from the outdoor cauldron fire pit. We started with the duck poutine, tallow fries, and crispy Brussels, and every single bite was incredible. The flavors were rich, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. For our main course, my son and husband both ordered the pork chop, and it was one of the best I have ever tasted. It was juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My son's girlfriend and I had the duck ramen, which was phenomenal. The broth had deep, comforting flavor with just enough heat to keep it interesting. The service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere made it one of those meals you do not forget. Between the food, the music, and the outdoor setting, Herd Provisions is exactly the kind of place that makes Charleston dining so special. We will definitely be back on our next visit, and I completely understand why it is one of my son's favorites.

Ordered lemonade, but was told after I had already paid that there was no more. Had to get either a fruit punch or a grape punch. The fruit punch tasted like Kool-Aid in the best way possible! Full of sugar though ha. Also ordered hot honey chicken wings. They were sweet and sticky with a nice heat kick to them. Chicken wings were perfectly fried and crispy despite being covered in sauce. No indoor seating, only a small two-person bench. Forgot to take a picture of the wings, but will be trying again!

It's a takeout only spot where everything is made to order so it takes at least 45 mins. The order stations (2 iPads) weren't working so the chef took our order. She proceeded to tell us that they were out of most items like they usually are at this time of night (about 10:15 now) even though they don't close until 2a (interesting that's a usual occurrence but no adjustments have been made). We ordered a jerk chicken platter, and a honey garlic chicken platter which looked delicious! Upon closer examination the honey garlic platter was mostly rice, some chicken and random green peppers for $25. However, the flavor of the chicken was pretty good. The jerk platter was mostly chicken, however, it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot I could only take a few bites. It was all pepper, no flavor. I love spice, but it completely blew my palate out to the point I couldn't taste anything else. I mean nose running, sinus clearing, hot! My partner couldn't stand one bite of it, so I had to throw the entire platter away. The worst part was the next day my friend noticed a random $12 charge come out of their account from the restaurant. They left a cash tip so they were very surprised to see the unauthorized charge to their card. They tried to get ahold of the business, but the phone just rings and rings. So we ended up going in person. The two business owners found the transaction and extra charge right away, but were looking at it on different computers and exchanging weird glances with each other. After about 15 mins the one man told the woman to give the $12 in cash. It was a small amount, but it's the principle. The fact that it happened and neither of them knew how was very sus. It all felt very icky. I do not recommend and would never return. 0/10
