    Caesar salad with chicken cutlet
    Samantha P.

Everything we had at Berkeleys was phenomenal! The fried artichokes and the sauces it came with were delicious, salad and sandwiches were both incredible. We came on a Saturday early dinner time and there was no wait for a table. There is a large outdoor seating area, and the bar had a large pass through window to that area, so I think they had the AC off for that which made the restaurant toasty, but there were fans and it was fine. Fun date night place!

We showed up half an hour before closing and were welcomed in. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was good and came out at a timely manner. Smoked salmon dip was good... The chips were a bit more salty than I'd like, but the dip neutralized that well. The chicken parm and eggplant parm sandwiches were really good. Good portions, yet it didn't feel heavy (my thighs are thankful lol). We pretty much got full after eating half and was able to take the rest home to enjoy it over another meal. The Pinot freezio and frozen sangria were served in cute little glasses. Very tasty and I loved that there was pulp in my Pinot freezio. Great first visit!

Food and drinks were amazing, as always! The Chicken Caesar is my go-to at Berkeley's, and the frosé was perfect for enjoying outside on a hot summer day. The only downside was the wait. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes longer than the estimated 25-minute wait time. We completely understood since it's a busy summer season, but a more comfortable or organized waiting area would make the experience even better. Overall, the food, drinks, and atmosphere keep us coming back!

Our first time in Charleston, SC. We were looking for a place for lunch. We passed Berkeley's, saw the crowd and figured this must be a great place to be so busy on a weekday afternoon. We were not wrong. It was reservation only for the outside tables. Bar seats and indoor booths (3) were available so we sat at the bar. Another great choice. The bartender was excellent. Very friendly and personable. Food was delicious and was served quickly but we were not rushed. The bar serves beer, wine, and cider plus signature wine slushies. We had the special Thai fried chicken sandwich, a fried eggplant sandwich, and a beet salad. Also a side Caesar salad that had the best most authentic dressing we've ever had. You could taste the anchovies, it was that good!! If you're in Charleston stop in Berkeley's. You won't regret it.

What a great place! We came because I had read that this was the best chicken Caesar salad, and boy were they right! Just absolutely loved the chicken and the breading, just perfect! Everything was great, but I do think the smoked fish dip with house made chips was the star dish. Packed with flavor and crisp texture. Hailey was our server and she was wonderful. Patient and extremely helpful. The restaurant is has a laid back deli feel with comfortable seats and a great bar and outdoor space. We came for lunch and it was just wonderful. I'm interested to come back for dinner. If you haven't been, stop on in!

I was excited to try this place for a while, loved sitting on the cupboard patio people watching friendly staff, and I very much enjoyed. My Greek salad recommended to me by my server. I was a little surprised how small the frozen sangria was, but it was delicious. I love that the Greek salad had chickpeas, and while the dressing did not look like an authentic oil based Greek dressing I expected, it was not overly mayonnaisy or yogurty. And was actually very good.

How it has taken me this long to try this community-staple is beyond me, but definitely worth the hype. Enjoyed a chicken Cesar salad (necessary) with an orange wine and barbera. My friend ordered the burger and fries and didn't disappoint either. We sat at the bar and had the best service! The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing

I went to Berkeley's recently and was reminded that I need to make this a regular stop. It is downtown but parking is pretty easy and you can usually get a spot without a long wait. We lucked out with Two seats at the bar. We were in the mood for chicken Parm so we decided to get chicken Parm two ways... one with the pasta and one as a sandwich with fries. Honestly I just wanted the fries so I could get a side of their cheese sauce to dip in. Plus, we got a Caesar salad to share because I can't resist those homemade croutons. They are so delicious. Inside seating is best but very limited. I did notice they have heaters on the patio for cool nights though. Also, I was surprised how busy it was on a random night so probably best to make reservations if you can.

Really nice spot in downtown Charleston. I like that is it away from the busy main streets. We easily found street parking next to the restaurant. Service was great. I loved the chicken parm. The chicken was nice and thin and crispy. The sauce was flavorful! My mom loved her Reuben sandwhich with chips. My sister had a chicken parm sandwhich and loved it as well. My dad ordered the French dip and didn't think it was that great. Overall, the food was pretty good, especially the chicken cutlets!

Such a cute and casual spot! The sandwiches were super flavorful - we got the chef's special cheesesteak, and I'd highly recommend it. The Caesar salad with chicken was delicious too, though the croutons basically melted from all the grease they're cooked in. The meatballs were tasty but definitely reheated since the inside was cold. I'd go back on a nice day for the salad and sandwich, but just a heads up - there's no AC (or it wasn't working), so it gets pretty warm inside. Heavy food in the heat is not for me!

I was excited to try Berkeley's for so many reasons! 1) They own The Archer, which I absolutely love, 2) they accept Blackbird, and 3) their chicken parm sandwich was listed as a top dish. The food and service did not disappoint! The sandwich was huge!My boyfriend and I were able to split it for lunch and it came with homemade chips. Thinly sliced chicken breast and a sweet marina sauce! Our friendly server recommended trying the Philly cheesesteak next time (though I was definitely eyeing the artichoke sandwich too!). A great, unassuming spot with reasonable prices! Super cute and fun!

Stopped in for lunch while on vacation and really enjoyed this place. They have indoor and lots of outdoor seating. They also have an indoor and an outdoor bar which is super neat. The bar tender was super nice and friendly and she gave us some recommendations for other places to go. I got the prime rib sandwich which was fantastic. The chicken cutlet was great too. Service, food and vibe were on par. Def a chill spot I would frequent if I lived there

Debbie and I finally got to check this place out downtown which we pass by frequently. We tried their hummus, beet salad and the French dip sandwich and we were not disappointed. They have lots of cool things on the menu and even a frozen sangria machine with white and red sangria which we sampled :) Try the combo. The service was top-notch also. Highly recommend.

It was alright, got the French dip and the meat was kinda tough and chewy - definitely not the best I've had. Fries were good though.

There's artwork and writing all over the ceiling, and the whole place has a very intimate, moody vibe. I would 100% bring a date here. Our bartenders were also phenomenal and really added to the experience. We came to celebrate during my birthday and started with a champagne flight, which was such a fun touch. For food, we ordered the steak and eggs and the Applewood bacon omelette. My girlfriend's steak and eggs were phenomenal. Truly no notes. Everything was cooked well, the pacing was great, and we never felt rushed. I ordered the Applewood bacon omelette, and this was really my only disappointment. There was almost too much bacon, which sounds ridiculous to complain about, but hear me out. The bacon was diced extremely fine, almost to the consistency of bacon bits, while the onions were left sliced. I think it would have worked much better if either the bacon had been cut a little larger or the onions had been diced down to match. The textures just felt mismatched. I could absolutely see the vision, and the flavor was there, but the execution was a little off. I ended up regretting my choice a little and wishing I had ordered the mushroom omelette instead. That is definitely what I'll be trying next time. I also wish there had been an option to substitute the home fries. This is definitely more of a personal preference, but home fries feel so overdone as a brunch side, and I would have loved another option. Those were really my only critiques in an otherwise fantastic experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, the bartenders were phenomenal, the pacing was great, and the food overall was delicious. Church and Union is absolutely somewhere I would come back to, whether for another celebration, brunch, or a date night.

While the bartender was nice, fast, and good at her job everyone else around her just didn't seem to care to provide service. The chips on the trio platter were beyond stale and since servers didn't care to serve the top deck tables were left unbussed and dirty. Not sure if this experience was a case of severe understaffing or just negligence on the management. The level of knowledge and creativity behind the bar was incredible. Every drink he made was stunning and tasted even better than it looked. I was honestly so impressed that I couldn't even remember all the ingredients he mentioned because I was too busy being amazed at how good everything was.
