To say we loved this meal is an understatement. Everything was so incredible and the outdoor vibes were amazing. They do a 3-5p happy hour and have live music twice a week. Our server, Kenny, was so knowledgeable and helped us order the perfect bites. The spritz and espresso martini were both great. They drank light and fresh. We ordered the Caesar salad, asparagus and fish specials, ribeye steak and kids burger. Everything was so good and honestly I couldn't stop myself from helping finish my daughter's kids meal. I can't get back here fast enough.

Parking is a little weird. Though I parked across the street, I am not sure that's where I should have been, though there did not seem to be any signs saying it would be a problem. The place has a comfortable feel to it, and the service was outstanding. However, the real key to going here is the locally sourced ingredients. The sustainably farmed 28-oz bone-in ribeye was amazing and cooked to perfection. The Tallow Fat Fries (MAHA -- my comment, not theirs) were a great side, as were the Roasted Mixed Mushrooms -- herb mix, garlic, sherry vinegar. Though closed at the time of dinner when I was there the front of the place also has a retail shop. It is not big, but it seems like you can special order something amazing if you are hosting a large event.

This is my second time visiting Herd Provisions but this time I came for lunch. I like the casual ambience of this place and it feels really open. They have outdoor patio and were surrounded by greenery to make it more cozy outside. The waiter came right away as soon as we sat on our table and we ordered their lwf beef tartare which we think a bit different cos it has a cumin flavor to it. Not really our favorite but just really something different to what beef tartare we normally had. I ordered a scallops for my dinner entree and they were so good. It came with Brussel sprouts and potatoes and they both seasoned really well. My husband ordered their steak and it was so good and juicy. We also ordered their creamy mashed potatoes and their amazing roasted mixed mushroom. The hostes told us that they will have a new fall menu so we are planning to come and check it out come fall!

I had another incredible dinner at Herd! I love the welcoming, warm service here. Walking by their butcher counter makes me crave some meat!! For starters, we shared the Niçoise Field Greens. I ordered the blues burger (shh - you can order off the burger menu) & my boyfriend ordered the NY koji burnt onion stripsteak. I'm not joking when I say this is one of the best burgers I've ever had. INCREDIBLE!!! The beef fat fries are worth writing home (or on Yelp) about! We ordered a few of the velveteen rabbit cocktails which were super refreshing. Cannot wait to come back soon!!

This place is really top-notch! As soon as you walk in, you see the meat market of high-quality beautifully aged meats. It really brings the ranch to the seaside. I love the ambience with the wood decor and beautiful lighting. Not too bright not too dark. Super classy yet somehow relaxed at the same time. We had an array of different items which is a great way to go when sharing with family and friends. The food was all seared perfectly, seasoned perfectly, great amount of acid, and the selection is great. It really has something for everyone! The service was professional yet friendly at exactly the right time during the meal. I'll be back over and over again! Bring your herd!

We attended for the 5th Year Anniversary along with Hurricane relief and it was such an amazing experience. From the expansive chef curated menu to fantastic service and beautiful ambiance, this exceeded expectations. We had three appetizers to split and our favorite was the dumpling! delicious sauce! My burger was one of the best.

We came here around 5:30 on Saturday night and didn't have a reservation but we were able to get seated right away on the patio. We live nearby and have been wanting to check this place out for a very long time! They had bug spray sitting out for us to use which was great there's a lot of no see ums right now! We didn't get a burger menu and didn't know we had to ask for one until we had already ordered. It was our first time coming here. There was only one server for the patio and she was quite busy! We did get a cocktail and a glass of wine which was good. You do have to order all of your food at once. We started off with the poutine and it was super tasty! I honestly wish we had stopped there because the rest of our meal wasn't so good. My bf ordered the duck which was poorly cooked, had a super strong pungent sour and vinegar flavor and was too tough to eat. The server did come by once right after we got our food and we haven't had a chance to really eat so we didn't have any feedback at that time. We took two bites of the duck and moved on. We also had the sweet potatoes which had an over the top inedible sweet and salty flavor. They also had very vinegar tasting pecans and an off tasting sauce in the dish. Again, took a bite and gave up. I also ordered the pan seared fish which was also covered in vinegar and very hard to eat. We told the server that our food wasn't edible and only took a few small bites total. She said she wished she knew earlier. Another worker came by to offer us dessert but it had been 2 hours and we were tired. Then we continued to wait for our check. I had to get up and find a worker at the host stand to get our check. I have worked on the service industry for many years and hate to complain but this was so sad. I've never been so dissatisfied and disappointed in a restaurant in my life. The table next to us had issues getting the servers attention and had problems with their food too. Paid $140 for drinks and poutine. From the bad food to the bad service I won't be back.

Amazing service and food! I was visiting my friend and we got the tallow fries and brussel sprouts to start. I swear, they were the best brussel sprouts I've ever had in my life! The sauce is incredible. The steak was really good too. Our server was so nice, and hilarious! I forget her name but she's young and blonde and was working Thursday night 2/6. She's AWESOME! Will definitely be back here

We've been searching for the perfect burger, and it might be the Herd Burger! My fiancé grabbed takeout and loved the interior - he also had a great experience with their staff and has been encouraging us to go back together and eat indoors. We got the veggie burger, herd burger, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was phenomenal! Because the toppings were so spot-on, even the veggie burger felt close to a classic burger. They both just had that indescribable burger-ness I've been searching for. I'm really picky about burger buns, and these buns weren't dry, were perfectly toasted, and chewy in the best way. The Brussels sprouts were well cooked (which is hard to do), and the sauce was delicious. I thought the prices were really good too. I don't think I'd pay an upcharge for the beef tallow fries again, but maybe I should give them another chance. I just didn't taste that much of a difference between them and normal fries. They were still 5/5 though.

Our 18 oz dry aged steak with whipped potatoes! YUM!!!

Loved the atmosphere - so fun and the music was Great! Our server, Isabel, was super attentive and friendly. The host was friendly, but did not give his name as we walked to our table. It would have been nice to be a bit more friendly. Food was fabulous - we had the Tallow fries (amazing) the Summer Salad (SO good - with poached shrimp and green goddess dressing) and the 18 oz dry aged ribeye with the whipped mashed potatoes. If you don't happen to know the difference between dry aged and wet aged, it's all in the flavor. Dry aged has a more earthy nutty taste and is a bit more solid. We ended with handmade French press coffee served right at our table, and a tawny port for me! We highly recommend Herd, and will definitely be back to try their Burger Bar!

I live practically around the corner and have been at least 5 or 6 times, so while browsing through my yelp, I was astonished that I have never reviewed it before. So excuse me while I try to roll all my visits into one review. This is 1. a butcher shop in the front. I have yet to use that portion, so I can't speak to it - YET. And 2. an amazing neighborhood gem of a restaurant that can't be overlooked. Our most recent visit we shared the steakhouse salad - that didn't come with steak on it, but they were kind enough to bring us an extra side of steak to go with it and gnocchi bolognese that took my breath away. This was just heaven to bite into each and every time. We also managed to share a smores cake/pie dessert that was complete indulgence. The cocktail list is always ingenious and a lovely wine list as well. Other things you must eat - the crispy brussels, the poutine and the chicken sandwich at lunch time. This place just never disappoints.

This farm to table restaurant takes food to the next level! I went during happy hour which had a nice selection of cocktails and small bites. I tried the beef fat fries and bbq burger. Both were absolutely outstanding. There was so much flavorful and cooked to perfection. The indoor and outdoor seating is quaint, inviting and modern at the same time. The staff was very attentive and kind.

I stopped by Burbage Meats this weekend to get a steak for myself and see how it was before committing to buying a fair number of steaks. I got a ribeye for myself, and saw some fresh hot dogs and sausages as well as some local items like peach soda from Georgia and BBQ sauce. The hot dogs I got are fantastic and they are actually cheaper per pound than high quality ones from Publix. As a native New Yorker I could eat hot dogs every day for lunch, which is exactly what I have been doing, and they are great. I cooked up the ribeye last night, the way I usually do (sit on the counter top with salt for 30 minutes, 2 minute sear per side in a cast iron pan with a knob of butter and finished in the broiler) and it came out with a perfect crust and was so tender it came apart significantly with just my fork. Flavor was amazing too, much beefier than ribeye usually tastes. I also got a pre-made beef stroganoff which I ate for dinner, and while it wasn't my favorite stroganoff, it was really good and hit the spot. I will definitely be having Burbage do the meats for myself event in a few weeks! J.Ja

The Experience From the moment you sit down, the pace is noticeable--in a good way. Service is fast and efficient, with gauchos consistently rotating through the dining room offering a wide selection of fire-roasted meats. The rhythm of service keeps your plate full without feeling rushed, which is exactly what you want in a traditional Brazilian steakhouse setting. Food Quality & Selection The highlight here is undeniably the extensive variety of meats. From classic cuts like picanha to a range of seasoned beef, chicken, and pork options, there's no shortage of choices. Each cut is carved tableside and served fresh off the skewer, giving you that authentic churrascaria feel. The salad and vegetable bar is impressively large, offering everything from fresh greens and roasted vegetables to cheeses and cold cuts. It's not just filler--it's actually well-stocked and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to balance out the heavier meat options (if you have the discipline). What Stands Out Fast, continuous service - you're never waiting long for the next cut Wide variety of meats - something for every preference Large, well-rounded salad bar - more than just an afterthought Attentive staff - consistent with what you'd expect from a high-end Brazilian steakhouse Where It Falls Short Salt level can be a bit heavy on some meats, which may not suit everyone Price point (~$85 per person) puts it firmly in the premium dining category Parking is limited, though nearby parking decks make it manageable with a short walk Final Verdict Galpão Gaucho is a solid choice for a high-end dining experience in Charleston, especially if you're going in hungry and want to indulge. While the seasoning can occasionally lean too salty and the price isn't light, the overall experience--driven by quality meats, variety, and strong service--makes it worth it for a special occasion or a serious night out. Best for: Date nights, celebrations, business dinners, or anyone wanting a true Brazilian steakhouse experience without compromise.

They even provided an extra bite of brisket for me to munch on while prepping my order. A half-pound of brisket, moist, was my selection, and it needed no sauce at all for the meat and the cooking method stood on their own. All the traditional Texas accoutrements were provided as well (hooray) and I added some creamy macaroni & cheese to finish off my plate. It all came at a reasonable price too, one of the few instances in Charleston where I felt like I was getting my money's worth at a restaurant. There's covered outdoor seating as well as lots of tables, booths and counter options inside, so even as busy as things were I had a surprising number of options on where to dine. The space was kept clean and near by swarming staff members...which leads to my only issue. When I got up to grab another beverage, the quick thinking bussers took away my plate before I was completely done! Aside from that faux pas, I strongly recommend visiting the Lewis operation. Genuine Texas style barbecue experience (including Shiner on draft!) coupled with efficient, welcoming service is a winning combination in my book.
