Probably the best food we have eaten in Puerto Rico so far!…read more Worth the drive! Our server (Javier) was friendly and helpful, kept telling us which cat to watch out for (one is mean, one is friendly). We enjoyed hanging out and talking while the food was prepared. The El Mariano was great! Tasty with delicious pork. The mafango under it was a great addition! Pro tip, order the Medalla instead of water, they are literally the same price!

Medalla's cost as much as the water and the Smoke Punch was fruitful and delicious. We started with a set of 12 BBQ Guava sauce which I can't recommend enough if you are a wing fan. Juicy, flavorful, and just a hint of spicy. We then got a set of meats (CERDO AHUMADO aka applewood smoked pork and COSTILLAS AHUMADAS aka 1/4 applewood smoked St. Louis ribs), CODITOS CON QUESO Y CERDO aka smoked pork Mac and cheese, GRANOS aka grain/bean salad, ENSALADA DE REPOLLO aka coleslaw, and ENSALADA DE PAPA aka potato salad. We are all sitting back at our VRBO in a meat/food coma after eating 1/2 of the amounts! There is still tons of food for dinner and it will be gone once one of us are hungry! This place is a gem of Ceiba. My favorite was the ribs which I recommend 2 orders ;) they have a great atmosphere with a TV, music, games, and what looks like a party area. Next time im back to the east side of PR I'm gonna try MOFONGO DE AMARILLO RELLENO DE CERDO AHUMADO DESMENUZADO EN BBQ DE LA CASA Y QUESO MOZZARELLA FUNDIDO (basically shredded meat covered in their delicious cheese sauce. Have fun everyone

The only reason for the 4 stars are the alley cats in the area which my husband is extremely allergic to. We kept having to shush them away.

They have parking on a hilled area and you can walk to the restaurant from there. We personally got a cart ride from a nice hotel staff. So I really appreciated that. WAIT You sign up for a table (whether it's inside or outside seating). They put your name on a waiting list. And they text you when the table is ready. Although we came at peak dining hours, I personally didn't feel that the wait for a outdoor table was bad. SERVICE Our server was good. She did check up on us despite having to serve many tables. The wait times for the food can be quite long, so keep that in mind. Don't come here if you are on a time crunch or come super hungry. Be prepared to enjoy the music, ambience, sea breeze and wait. MUSIC The day we arrived, there was a live band playing, which was nice to keep the island vibes. However, we were seated right next to the band that had really loud percussion sounds that it was really hard to hear each other speak and gave my friend a slight headache. So, maybe request a further table if you do get seated really close to them. FOOD My friends and I decided to share the appetizer, AHI TUNA WONTON. The crunch of the chips, the softness of the raw tuna and the sauce meshed well together. It was delicious that we ate it so fast. I personally got the ARROZ CON MARISCOS aka Seafood Rice. I opted for tostones on the side. This is seasoned orange rice with various seafoods inside. There is just a decent amount of seafood inside. It can be quite filling because of the rice. So I think it was worth it compared to the other dishes. But it wasn't super impressive. Overall, the food was okay. The music was super loud. The wait times was quite long. So I would give it a 3 star rating for my experience here.

The owner took the mike to annouce that people "go outside, behind the bushes, for 'pee-pee only, no VM's! -and you can't take any paper or napkins, just go "pee-pee" !!! Thank God this was after we had almost finished but how disgusting! Service is very, very slow, they want you to drink a lot before ordering food. We had to get up several times to ask the waiters to take our order. Ordered 3 paellas (rather small) and afer an hour they served us two (assorted seafood, Paella Macho, $38). The third paella (black, or squid, $30. and delicious) arrived almost half an hour after we had finished the first 2!! We asked several times for a pitcher of water and we could never get it refilled so we went to the bar to get water, no water or ice in the bar area but we went to a breezeway where they have a sink and we refilled it twice. No bread. To order more wine we had to find a waiter ourselves. Now let's talk about money, about our check: We asked for the wine list, owner came and said they don't have one but all their wines are reasonable and not on any other restauran's wine list. They were very low quality table wines but when the check came they were $40.each! --and there is more, "they ran out" of white wine and asked that we get prosseco. Surprise: this cheap prosseco was billed at $60. -with 20% tip + tax it was almost $80.!!! - no warning about the cost. They don't give you a check, just a round number on a piece of paper but being astonished at the $540. I demanded a detailed check that they would only give me after I had paid, and we had to wait around, outside in the porch for it (they needed the table). They billed us for beers and vodka that we neither ordered or consumed, too bad we had already paid and she said that to make a claim we would have to call her on the phone later in the week ( we were there Sunday). Best of all, they added a 20% tip (for no service). We were six, 4 women and 2 men, not heavy drinkers and between 50 and late 70's, not the kind to run up a lunch bill of almost $100. p/p. By the way, the music is good but it is amateur and the musicans are volunteers. Go at your risk ( sanitary conditions) and at your wallet's risk.
