Authentic Mexican, menus are in Spanish, so hope you brushed up on it. Good food, some items are pricey, some entrees include rice and a side salad of Romaine, tomato, and onions, no dressing. I came for lunch then brought back the Family for dinner on a different night. For lunch I tried the single street tacos (Pastor, now my favorite taco in town), and oh so reasonable! Came with chips and a spicy salsa, authentic salsa, not what most think is salsa. This isn't Tex-Mex. For dinner, we started with guacamole, was disappointed, it wasn't a fresh avacodo, but from a bag I get at Costco, with fresh added onion, tomato, and spices, OK, but not what I expected, made in a Molcajete. I had the Shrimp Relleno, and it's not the stuffed, battered and fried version, but an authentic open face chilli, healthier version with a very tasty creamy/ cheesey sauce, with a nice hint of spice. I really loved mine, flavors are spot on! Wife went with 2 tacos Pastor and loved them ( they are ordered individually), kid 1 ordered chicken burrito, but received an incorrect (waitress missed this one) grilled chicken, a thin and dry grilled chicken, and did not like, we could have sent back but she tried it anyways. Kid 2 ordered 4 carne asada tacos and liked them but prefers a certain truck taco, that IMO is better too, oh but those Pastor's here, are again, my favorite! Service was slow at times and could use some improvement, I noticed some other peeps that we're waiting a bit to get served. My lunch server was spot on however and I was here on a packed day, so you read into that one! So overall dinner was $74 with 3 sodas and Dad having 2 Modelo drafts, not bad for this town! Flew in from Chicago and stopped along the way to Keystone Village and had a beer and by the time we got to our lodgings it was getting late so we stopped here at Sabor Mazatlan. Shrimp and carnita tacos ala carte was fantastic. Tasty and my partners in crime got the shrimp ceviche which according to my buds was also quite tasty. I would definitely recommend this place for some really well seasoned food. read more

Took at least 15min to take our drink order, 20min to take our food order after that, 30min for food, 20min to check to see how the food was (all gone), 10 min to see if we needed anything else. We really enjoyed our meal at this sit down Mexican restaurant. The menu is extensive - leaving me wanting to return so we could try more. The flavors were spot on. Our octopus diablo was spicy but with well balanced flavors. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked. We also really enjoyed our seafood fajitas - we requested no tilapia and that was accommodated no problem. The service was super friendly and informative. We went to this place because of the reviews. We are from the Southwest and know Mexican food, however I'm most critical about how long it took to get our to go order...70 minutes!!!! We only ordered 2 burritos and 2 bowls of Soup, so no good reason for the length of time. They originally told us it would Be 30-40 minutes. Ok, I get that. It was dinner time, so we figured we would just Have a margarita and wait. The tortilla soup was Ok. It did have some good grilled chicken in it. The veggie and chicken burritos were big and filled. Absolutely worst experience in dining. Unfortunate and very disappointed. Waited over 40 min and food still didn't come out, when approaching register, it appeared food prep was busy watching something rather than prepping. Literally watched a patron come in be seated served chips with drink eat, (same order we put in), then brought another, pay his check and leave. During the time we had waited. This was our 2nd visit to this place and both times we looked forward to going for dinner. The restaurant is in a strip center and I guess that's ok if you don't mind spending $70 for a Mexican dinner with one margarita in that type of atmosphere. The first time was good . The second time was a disappointment with no taste to the meal. There was 90% masa in my in my beef tamale, I ate the relleno and as you can see by the photo that was my $20 + plate. Local fresh Mexican food! Super fresh! Like I felt great afterwards unlike most times I eat Mexican food. The shrimp tacos are my favorite so far.. I can't wait to try more of the fish options. We have had such great times at lunch here, but sadly we had the worst experience at a Mexican restaurant ever! It just seemed like they didn't care about us. We were served right away with our drinks and chips (queso and salsa), but after, forgotten. Two gentlemen came in at least 10 min after us, received the same service, but their server got their orders before us. The food here is really good. It's the most authentic Mexican food in the valley. Not Tex-Amex, We ordered a bunch of items for the table and shared. We had fish, shrimp, carne asada, and pastor tocos all were excellent. The cavechi was also a highlight. I would give the food five stars and the service and atmosphere 3. If I could give no stars on this place, I would. My family and I walked in and sat ourselves. There were a few Hispanic patrons enjoying their lunch. We sat there and waited and waited and waited. We couldn't even get the two servers to look at us much alone acknowledge or serve us water. We walked out after about 15 minutes The take: don't go here thinking you're going to get service unless you're Hispanic. Sad and pathetic. I've been here a handful of times now, and the food is always spot-on! Friendly staff and great service, too. Post COVID, it was our first stop out to eat, and I felt completely safe. The space was spotless, and I could tell the staff was doing exactly what was required regarding their sanitation and disinfection practices. My favorite things here are the enchiladas with the chipotle sauce (get them with shrimp!) and any one of the sopas. Great salsa and queso, too! Give it a try. Probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The service wasn't very good either. The meat that I had the Pastore Or maybe it was carnitas was all pig fat. They didn't even offer me anything to drink so I ended up eating the dry tacos without anything to drink.... Then we got no napkins or silverware we had to get up to get them. It was then followed by tasteless food and pale yellow rice. The fajitas were made with frozen vegetables and the carrots looked pink not orange. The seafood burrito you couldn't see any seafood. It was disgusting. I won't go into detail with the other meals. Had really good carne asada and a great horchata! The service wasn't too bad, the music was a little too loud, but the menu looked pretty good. The servers were a little too comfortable with everything and didn't seem to pay much attention. The other guests that were there seemed like they were regulars so it must not be that bad of a place. Came in on a Sunday afternoon, they were busy and probably overwhelmed so I'll give them that. But we sat down and the waitress told us they're out of red salsa but she has some spicy green salsa and leaves us with that and some chips. Then for 10 mins, we were completely ignored. She never came back to ask for a drink order or if we were ready to eat. Another couple came in after us, sat down right next to us, and was served immediately. The family on the other side of us kept ordering drinks, extra sour cream, whatever and they were served immediately as well. It's like we were invisible. The waitress never acknowledged us again, even when we stood up and put our coats on to leave. We heard about this new seafood-centric Mexican restaurant in Avon and thought we would give it a shot for lunch. Small place 10-12 tables. Food is wonderful with plenty of spice. The lunch menu is traditional Mexican fare (tostadas, buritos, etc.) and reasonably priced. We opted for the huge dinner menu. My wife got the marinated tuna/watermelon tostada on the waitresses recommendation. It was wonderful and refreshing. I got the aquachile verde (sort of ceviche/cucumber/onion in a cilantro chile broth) it was pretty spicy but again wonderful. My wife also ordered two sopas (way to much food) which were great and $3 a piece. She could have easily did two sopas and a drink for an $8 lunch. read more
