If you're a seafood foodie this restaurant is for you! The location is a bit small but it does make up for having a beautiful waterfront view. The food was absolutely amazing with Lots of flavor served in beautiful bowls. We started off with the tostones and guacamole which I highly recommend and the calamari. The Calamari was fine, but nothing to go crazy about. We shared several ceviche dishes and ordered a side of rice to mix in with our ceviche juice ( highly recommend doing this). I would give this place a five star, but I'm all about drinks and the drinks here did let me down. They were extremely sweet and not well mixed. When asked if we could purchase an extra shot to add to our drink to try and fix it, we were told they don't allow that. This place is your real authentic Peruvian food and I will def be going back for the food!

It was our first visit to this tucked away restaurant. Let's start off by saying a huge YUM for this one! -Ample parking -Clean -Great service (greeted right away). Our server answered our questions regarding the menu. -Food was seasoned (delicious ) just right and presented well. We will definitely return and try other options ( so many) on the menu.

First time here. Service was great. Somewhat of a language barrier for me, so I was really unsure about what to order. From my understanding the ceviche is great. Didn't have any this go round but maybe the next time. Food was tasty. No complaints. I was just very unsure about what to order and think I would try something different the next time.

Was visiting Jax for work and a colleague recommended me this restaurant and OMG!!! The freshness and taste of the good is out of this world. I will definitely come back each time I am in the area. The service and ambiance were superb.

Service is always amazing and they are very thoughtful and try their best to make your experience perfect. I haven't been here in awhile but will be coming back more frequently now, also they dropped the price on the ceviches since last year. Amazing place, must visit!

While heading to San Marco, we stumbled upon a familiar name on a different side of town!! Sabor on Beach Blvd has been a staple in our family as long as we can remember. You can imagine the excitement when we realized they opened a second location! These people make the best and most authentic Peruvian food in Jacksonville. We always start our meal with a Peruvian beer (Cusquèna, Cristal.) They pair super well with the complex, fusion of flavors that grace your pallet. The new Sabor mix is clean, comfortable and just as reliably delicious as the original. They wait staff was welcoming, prompt and super friendly. The food came out hot and fresh. If you've never had Peruvian food... especially ceviche, you are missing out my friend.

This place is outstanding!! Excellent Peruvian food! We enjoyed the bang bang shrimp, Jalea Mixta and the trio of fish ceviche! Everything was delicious! This was our second time in and both were excellent dinners!! Service was also great and very attentive! We will be regulars in our new favorite local spot!

Just put us in the conga line of people who love this place. Best calamari in town. Everything is made to order with the freshest ingredients. Can't believe we live in this neighborhood and just now tried it. In the words of The Terminator "I'll be back"!

We were originally going to another restaurant in the same shopping center but it was closed for vacation. I'm so glad we remembered Sabor was around the corner! This was our first time and we will definitely be back. I had the lomo saltado and my friend had the ceviche on the cold lemony mashed potatoes but I can't remember what it was called. She loved her dish and said she could happily eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My lomo saltado was delicious as well. The service was excellent and the staff were really nice. Also, the interior decor is definitely nicer that the previous restaurant that occupied the space.

Finally a great Peruvian restaurant in Jacksonville. Food and service was great. Most Peruvian restaurants have canchita at no cost but this one does not.

We'd been eagerly awaiting for this to open, noticed it was open today and decided to have dinner there. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server was very friendly. The booths and layout are the same, but the lighting and decor have been changed to properly suit the new theme. The menu is extensive and should have something for everyone. We had the Lomo Saltado with chicken and the Tallarin Verde Saltado Chicken with fettuccine. Both were excellent. The server asked if everything was ok and then never came back until we were almost finished. We'd tried to get anyone's attention to get drink refills to no avail. When our server finally returned and asked about desserts she still didn't ask if we'd like our empty glasses refilled so we decided just to get the ice cream to go. She had explained it as a very sweet fruit. I should have looked that up as lucuma is a fruit described to have a "custardy" flavor. So, when I got home and tried it expecting a sweet, fruity flavor and it tasted a bit like coffee I was quite surprised. If you order it, don't expect a sweet ice cream most children would like. In reading about the sister restaurant they have a dress & conduct "code". Definitely not enforced here. Men were wearing flip flops and t-shirts as well as a phone rang and a lady was talking loudly a row over. We'd been excited to read this code as we've been tired of other's phone conversations being a part of our meal and people here rarely dress for anything. We will definitely return for the food, but unless the service improves this will be a take out for us.

Now let's try this new concept here. We decided to sit at the bar and we were handed menus on IPads. Wow, this is different. We can't order on it but it was simply a digital menu. We ordered a few things. For drinks we got the Lula's Blue Pisco (Pisco, blue curacao, coconut cream, agave, like and coconut rum) and a Peruvian Prince (Peruvian Pisco, passionfruit liquor, peach Schnapps, lime, bitters). Both drinks were strong but the Blue Pisco was skrong. We both liked the taste. We later ordered a Mi Amor (7 misterios Mezcal, muddled watermelon, passionfruit, lime). Also strong and I'm not a watermelon person, but it was hard to not enjoy it. For apps, we got the Totstones Achorados (green plantains, mussels, tomatoes, onions, cilantro) and the Chicharron de Atun (seasoned bluefin tuna crackling, fresh housemade guac, fried jalapeno, cambray onion). The Chicharron surprised me as I didn't think the little fish rounds would be such a tasty snack. And the guac was really creamy, not salty. The tostones were impressive. My man said that normally they would be very dry but these weren't. The toppings on them, while not bringing a strong flavor, were cool and refreshing. For entrees, we got the Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus, fried potatoes, salad) and the Arroz Chaufa with Steak (white rice, eggs, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, ginger, and sesame oil). The latter is a Peruvian version of Chinese fried rice. This was delicious! The flavors were much stronger and bolder and he could only eat half of it at this point. The rest was taken home and tasted just as good 2 days later. The octopus was great. I didn't think that I would also be getting part of the head with my meal but I was fine with that. I saw some people complain about their octopus being too chewy but I honestly will eat it anyway. I love it. The Peruvian corn that topped it was so sweet and delicious. The side of remoulade I used for everything on my plate as it was a great dipping sauce. We were too full to get dessert and threw in the napkins. The ladies waiting on all of us were so kind and took great care of us. This is definitely a place we will be returning to.

I enjoyed seeing Peruvian culture being repped on all the walls. I had to Google some of the geoglyphs like the monkey one because it was cause for a great debate at our table. The young lady server was very nice and took good care of us. The menu? Everything sounded really good and we had a semi-hard time deciding what to get. We did start off with a Pisco Sour and a Maracuya cocktail. Both were pretty light and tasty. One co-worker had a tooth removed so all he could eat was soup so he ordered the Sopa de Dia which was chicken. He said it was pretty good for the big bowl he was served. One co-worker got the Bistec Apanado (deep fried steak with sides of meduros and fries). He said the steak was tough and his meduros were either not fully cooked or overcooked. Another co-worker got the Bistec A Lo Pobre (flank steak, rice, fries, meduros, fried eggs). She said the steak was tough too. Same problem with the meduros. The other co-worker got the Arroz Con Mariscos (mixed seafood yellow rice). His came out first and it smelled amazing. He's not a fan of cilantro and it was topped with it. He's one of those weirdos that the gene that cilantro tastes like soap lol. He still liked his food and at most of it. He left the calamari rings behind stating that they were too chewy for him. We all tried it and we were pretty split on the statement. I ordered the Mixto Ceviche (raw fish, calamari, and shrimp) with added spiciness. Don't ask me why I chose spicy, I just knew that it was going to be spicy as in more spice and not like spicy hot. It was very good even though I felt as if I had too much liquid on my plate. Sopping it up was out of the question as it was very sea-salty. I'm not sure who's child it was but a young guy came up to me and asked what I was eating I told him and then he walked away. Our table was confused by the reaction but he came back later to take some of our dishes to the back. Slightly odd. I'd come back. I need to try their Chicha Morada (purple corn drink)

They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The environment is pretty nice and quiet.
