New Peruvian spot in Tapestry Park near III Forks and right diagonal to Indigo Blue Hotel. GPS will take you around the building and the signage is hard to see. Restaurant is spacious with booths, tables and bar seating. Ceviche was so refreshing. The chicken moist and the shrimp champignon was a nice flavorful surprise.

Lula's Bistro is a new restaurant tucked away in peaceful Tapestry Park. This was the first restaurant that I have tried Peruvian food at and it was delicious. I had been craving ceviche and this hit the spot. The CEVICHE DE POTA which is a Squid ceviche mix with jumbo corn kernel, corn nut and sweet potato was my favorite out of the three in the trio. Loved the crunch from the corn nuts and the sauce was delicious. Had to try some lomo saltado so I had the taco and the meat was cooked perfectly. Loved that they put a few fries on it so you get a full taste of the entree version. My husband raved about the octopus dish saying I don't think I can find this anywhere else that is on this level. The Caipirinha - favorite- and Pisco Sour were tasty as were the toasty hot & fresh churros. Very nice restaurant. I would make sure I wasn't in a rush to eat here at least if it was busy because they do make everything fresh. Would make a very nice date spot and I also hope to catch some of their lunch specials.

Lomo Saltado Taco - a Peruvian classic meets Mexico! Yum!

Just lovely!!! Peru is known for its cuisine - and this little gem is a foodie great find. The menu is authentic, and even includes upscale Mexican dishes. The food and drink presentation also made the food look as good as it tasted! Every dish we ate is worth coming back for.

Best flavors I have encountered in a long time!! Papa A La Huancaina - amazing but, be careful has a kick! Inka ceviche with shrimp- I wish we had ordered 2 portions. Lomo Salteado - a little tough but the flavor made up for it. Definitely worth a try!

Loved this place. Food was cooked perfect and you could clearly tell high quality ingredients. I had one mar y tierra taco and fajitas. Clean, friendly staff, great food. What more can you ask for?

We are ceviche lovers and this is the best ceviche we've had in town by far! So, so delicious! Cocktails were pretty and tasty too - can't wait to return

Octopus- sauce has some heat, recommend dipping a small bit before pouring it all over.

The food was delicious! The bluefin tartar and the grilled octopus was so good! Maya was our server and she was just a delight! She was patient, offered recommendations and was so friendly yet professional. The place was clean and pretty!! They have an outdoor space that'll be nice to try!

    Ceviche with tostone

Ceviche en tostada was tasty but not alot of fish just a lot of filler with diced onions. At time it taste as you were eating onion with tostada. Anticuchos were very thin and not a lot of meat. Not your typical anticuchos that thick and on a skewer. It has a great taste so would recommend. Lomo saltado was basic. Nothing out of this world. But if you are looking for a simple meal definitely check it out. The only dish I would recommend is the pescado lo macho. The cream sauce and fish sauce as to die for.

Best ceviche in Jax. Fresh. Clean restaurant. Hugeeee servings. Definitely try them out. Good cocktails too!!

    The main bar

Having spent time visiting through out Peru, I'm always encouraged when a new Peruvian restaurant opens in Jacksonville. This was our first visit and my overall impression of the ambience was quaint, very clean, we had as our server, Tony, who was incredibly attentive. I tried one of their signature cocktails made from pisco and it was quite good, we had the house Peruvian ceviche, and it also was quite good. My wife had the fish with calamari on top and she enjoyed it. I have the Peruvian steak with, rice and sweet plantains, and my steak was overdone, but it had been a long day and I was in no fuss to have it done again. The bathrooms were spotless and modern, and we had no problem finding parking on a Friday night. The combination of both Mexican and Peruvian dishes was somewhat disheartening, in that they should focus on one or the other.

We were in the mood for a South American restaurant and someone suggested here…read more Walking in we felt like the food was going to be fire as it gave off an atmosphere of home cooking and the "gathering house" where everyone goes to eat. I enjoyed seeing Peruvian culture being repped on all the walls. I had to Google some of the geoglyphs like the monkey one because it was cause for a great debate at our table. The young lady server was very nice and took good care of us. The menu? Everything sounded really good and we had a semi-hard time deciding what to get. We did start off with a Pisco Sour and a Maracuya cocktail. Both were pretty light and tasty. One co-worker had a tooth removed so all he could eat was soup so he ordered the Sopa de Dia which was chicken. He said it was pretty good for the big bowl he was served. One co-worker got the Bistec Apanado (deep fried steak with sides of meduros and fries). He said the steak was tough and his meduros were either not fully cooked or overcooked. Another co-worker got the Bistec A Lo Pobre (flank steak, rice, fries, meduros, fried eggs). She said the steak was tough too. Same problem with the meduros. The other co-worker got the Arroz Con Mariscos (mixed seafood yellow rice). His came out first and it smelled amazing. He's not a fan of cilantro and it was topped with it. He's one of those weirdos that the gene that cilantro tastes like soap lol. He still liked his food and at most of it. He left the calamari rings behind stating that they were too chewy for him. We all tried it and we were pretty split on the statement. I ordered the Mixto Ceviche (raw fish, calamari, and shrimp) with added spiciness. Don't ask me why I chose spicy, I just knew that it was going to be spicy as in more spice and not like spicy hot. It was very good even though I felt as if I had too much liquid on my plate. Sopping it up was out of the question as it was very sea-salty. I'm not sure who's child it was but a young guy came up to me and asked what I was eating I told him and then he walked away. Our table was confused by the reaction but he came back later to take some of our dishes to the back. Slightly odd. I'd come back. I need to try their Chicha Morada (purple corn drink)

I've been to Salento twice now, so I feel like I got a good sense of what they have to offer…read more I started with the carne empanadas, which came with complimentary chimichurri and hot sauce. They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The environment is pretty nice and quiet.
