I was excited to see they had such a huge menu and I really wanted to try everything but I decided to stick to the classics that I used to get at Miguelitos when they were around. An Uber Eats driver made a mistake and picked up the wrong food, resulting in my order being canceled an hour after I placed it. I reordered, trusting them to give me fresh food, but they sent me the food that had been sitting there for 90 minutes instead. The "manager" David was smug when I called, saying he wasnt going to get paid by Uber for the initial order, so he took it out on the customer (who, by the way, was still paying full price). Really shameful behavior that is probably dangerous from a food safety standpoint. If they can't be trusted to put the customer first in a situation like this that is totally out of the customer's control, how can they be trusted at all? Will they serve out of date food to save their bottom line? Based on what David said, I wouldn't put it past them. Response to owner: Yes, I was able to get a refund on the second order on account of your horrendous customer service. You should have challenged Uber on not getting paid on the first order, not take it out on a customer who has ordered dozens of times. Every time I feel like eating an arepa (corn cake) filled with all kind of goodness this is one of my top spots. Their arepas are cooked on the inside and crispy on the outside. My recommendation is the arepa with ham and Venezuelan cheese, pair it with a Colombiana (soda) and it'll fill your tummy. Located a block east of Fondren on Westheimer at an independent gas station Sabor Venezolano serves up the best arepas I ever tasted in Houston. The arepas run about $4 each. Believe me when I say you get a lot for your money. The maize dough is awesome as the bread is really crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. There are a few things you can pick to fill the arepa up with. I ususally sound like a fool when I order in spanish but hey I do try my best.... The most ordered items among my friends and I are: - Reina Pepiada (like a chicken salad of sorts) - Pelua (Slow cooked beef w/ Cream Cheddar Cheese dip with spices) - Maracayara (ham, cheese lettuce and tomato) - Gringa (Ham and cheese only) And to wash it down? You can order a Coca Cola with real sugar! It looks like it is imported from Mexico. There really is something about a glass bottle of coke that has sugar cane....eff that high fructose corn sugar or as it is called "Corn Sugar" now. So, normally, I love this place! The flavor really is amazing! However, tonight was a complete letdown. My boyfriend stopped by to grab us a midnight snack. He ordered tacos to go, and while they're normally good, I don't know what happened today. The tacos were sloppy, there was no lime in our bags, and worst of all, I found a piece of wire in my taco!!! Wire! I'm lucky I caught it, because if I hadn't, it could have really caused damage. So the food truck rolled into the office today and after much deliberation, I decided to partake in it. I got the quesadilla with fajita and it was tasty however some of the meat was a tad chewy. Both salsas that came with it were good and watch out for the orange one, it has potential to get those who are sensitive to heat. I also tried the Tequenos Guayaba, which were pretty delicious and probably leans me closer to 3.5 stars. I would definitely recommend trying these guys out and perhaps next time I'll try an Arepas or even one of their creative burgers. I was so glad that our building was hosting a fun day where a live band and activities were being held in our court yard at Greenway Plaza. About 9 other food trucks came and it all smelled wonderful. When I saw this food truck at the end, I knew I had to have some arepas. It's been a long time since I've had good Venezuelan food. I ordered some tequenos and llanera (beef) arepa. My food came out and fast and because it was so windy, I opted to take my food back to my office. My girlfriend and I decided to go for Venezuelan food. With not too many options in town we decided to give this place a try. We ordered a couple of items: Cachapa con queso Guayanez (corn cake with meting white cheese) and Tequeños (fried cheese sticks). The Cachapa was ok, good flavor and texture but not as rich in corn as the typical venezuelan - a decent effort, just ok. Unfortunately the Tequeños were very disappointing, the dough wasn't right, it was brownish, bubbly and compact, this normally happens when they are fried under too much heat and when it has too much fat, it was a bit sweet too. Hopefully you find this review helpful as I found the majority here weren't really anything to go by on how the food really was. Upon first reviewing the menu, I found the prices a bit steep. They're a bit more expensive than taquerias I frequent. (I don't know if it makes a difference for Mexican food vs. Venezuelan.) I ended up getting an arepa. For those of you questioning what that is, you can compare it to a gordita but I think the masa/dough is more flour based rather than corn based like a gordita. My selection was the Llanera arepa which was beef fajita and Venezuelan white cheese. It was ok. My only complaint would be I didn't find it warm enough but it wasn't cold by any means. Nothing I couldn't get over. Especially with their green sauce! I mean.... YUM. It took the arepa from being basic to something special. I could drink a bowl of that stuff. Beware with the red sauce. I heard it was made with habeneros and packs a pretty big punch. Moving on to my next item, I selected a cheese empanada. I didn't want a full order and was able to order just one which I really appreciated. The empanadas' masa/dough is corn based rather than flour based like Mexican empanadas. The texture was very nice with a crisp outer layer and the soft chewy inner layer due to the thickness. They are NOT shy on the cheese. No disappointment there! Don't bite into them straight away though. The hold a lot of heat so I advise for you to hold out for a bit to have them cool down. All in all, I give it 3 stars. The price was higher than expected and I wasn't wowed by my arepa alone. But in saying all of that, yes, I would eat from this truck again and would recommend it to others. read more

Absolutely delicious! Everything was prepared and presented perfectly. The tequenos were homemade, fresh and tasty. They paired perfectly with the guasacaca sauce. The reina pepida arepas were fresh and full of ripe avocado and chicken with mayo, perfectly proportioned. Also tried the mechada y queso guayanes arepa and OMG, so delicious! It is hard to find good Venezuelan and Columbian food convenient and fairly priced. I was so happy to be able to enjoy my meal and not have to take the long process to prepare everything.
