If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I had the shredded beef arepa the other day and I swear I have been thinking about it several times a day since. Guys, it's been like 4 days. And I live outside of delivery zone, but I'm legit thinking about just driving to get them. Ok, the arepa was cooked to perfection. The plantains added just the right amount of sweet for a second, the beans were perfect, the flavor combination was just amazing. I also had a beef empanada. It was crispy and served piping hot. The inside was moist and delicious. I'm not usually a gal that likes many sauces, but the sauce they served with this was complimentary to the flavor profile. If you've never had one, imagine a hot dog or burger piled high with all kinds of toppings (salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy, all mixed together) And then they throw an egg on top? Sounds chaotic, but honestly it just works. This time I grabbed some empanadas as a light snack after hanging out at Bobcat Teddy's Icehouse (I've seen this truck parked there a few times here) Service was quick, maybe 5 minutes tops on the wait.. For food, we ordered a few Tequenos, Tasty Arepa, and Choriperro. The Tequenos were really good and much bigger than I'm used to. Both of the sauces that came with it were great too. The Tasty Arepa was pretty good--the actual Arepa had good flavor, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fillings. It probably would have been better if the fillings were mixed together, instead of separated. The Choriperro was good too, but I felt like there was just a little too much going on with all the different sauces. Pretty tasty arepas and empanadas for a decent price! This is a food truck located right on Washington, in the parking lot near Heart! The bf decided to pick up some dinner for us one night and decided on an assortment of empanadas and 2 arepas! We got a cheese empanada, some potatoes and beef, and some potatoes and pulled pork. They were crispy, filled with lots of filling that was seasoned well, and fairly large! They come with 2 different sauces that add to the flavors! The two arepas we got were the Blondie (Catira) - shredded chicken with Gouda cheese! They came out hot, crispy exterior and delicious filling! Tasty Arepa is a Colombian/Venezuelan food truck. I caught them for a late night meal on a Saturday night on Washington. They were in a parking lot right next to Rebels and Atlas Pub. The menu consists of a large variety of arepas, hot dogs, burgers, tequenos, patacones, empanadas, and a few other dishes. I went with the Colombiano hot dog which is a hot dog topped with potato sticks, cheese, raspberry sauce, and mustard. I wouldn't recommend eating this in your car as things will get messy quick. While the toppings definitely added to the hot dog, I wasn't impressed with the hot dog or the bun. If you boil a hot dog at home and use a regular bun, this is the base you got from Tasty Arepa too. The raspberry sauce was a little too overpowering for me as it made the hot dog really sweet. They do have some portable tables and seating outside the food truck which was a nice touch. read more

Came back with my cousin and ordered their burger which 3 years ago was made with arepa and this time it was regular burger buns.....I mean why would I go all the way downtown for a regular ol' burger. I was thoroughly disappointed....idk if you have to ask them to make them for you with arepa or not, but I wasn't asked a choice so my guess is they changed their way of making it. So, my awesome wife sees this food truck almost every time we drive down Washington. She is wanting to try it as she spent time in Columbia and that area and raves about the food. So we pull in around 7pm one night. It's in an odd place as I am thinking the parking attendant will be charging as there is a gate that has to open to get to the van. We park and walk up, the people sitting at the tables are super nice and love our dog as she has never meet a stranger and demands to be pet by everyone. I hand her my wallet and she pulls out another $20. Odd, I am thinking as I wonder if she ordered everything on the menu. We site down and talk with everyone, my awesome wife speaking Spanish and me the goofy non speaking Spanish guy smiling and noticing they are talking about something that costs a lot and making funny faces. The young lady in the food truck window calls out my awesome wife's name and I go get the order, 4 items. I am thinking WTF. I take it to the table, a cheese arepa, chocolo (spelling is off I am sure) and some corn thing with cheese and some other thing. And drinks of course, non alcoholic. I take a bite, not knowing what this is or what to expect. What I get is dry. I mean Sahara Desert dry. I am thinking this is what it is supposed to be like and decline any more but wonder why others eat this cardboard when just down the street awaits food heaven or a shake and burger from a certain drive through in the area. Come to find out, others were talking about the price as well, at $6.50 an item it was to high priced in my opinion, especially for what you got. If I could give a 0 star I would. We found this place on Ubereats (not realizing it was the food truck in the parking lot of Heart Club) so we decided to give it a try. My boyfriend & I had ordered The Hairy Arepa, Chicharron, Beef Patacones, Colombiano Hot Dog, Empanadas. Since I am 100% honest with my reviews the only thing I actually enjoyed was the Empanadas. They weren't bad. But the reasoning for my 0 star is that my boyfriend caught food poisoning from this place. If I must specify I believe he caught it from intaking the Colombiano Hot Dog (only thing I did not touch from this place) & before anyone claims "Maybe he ate something before hand" no, because everything before hand I had ate with him. I was 100% perfectly fine. Therefore, we believe the hotdog gave him food poisoning. The hotdog wasn't even a regular hotdog, If im mistaken the meat was chorizo & he also said when he bit into it, it had tasted funny. But he never had anything like this before so he assumed it was suppose to taste how it did. If you don't know, getting food poisoning is the WORST thing ever. It will have you throwing up & sh*tting at the same time. To add on top, he had a terrible fever, trying to fight the bacteria for over 24 hours. It really sucks because we try our best to support businesses & I would hate to leave bad reviews but its also the business responsibility to take precaution when serving customers. So F-ing good! My first time I ordered the #6 Hand Cheese (queso de mano) and #8 Mexicana. It's a hot fried corn pita-like pocket that's soft in the middle and crispy on the outside and then stuffed with ingredients. Be sure to go 30 mins to 1 hour before the bar closes to beat the drunken after bar crowd. Otherwise you gotta deal with drunken shenanigans (people wanting to cut the line and/or start shit). Ordered delivery via Yelp and was extremely impressed with how delicious the food was! I ordered the queso de mano arepa, cachapa, and maduros. I like to have arepas with maduros and cheese but didn't see the option so I ordered them separately to stuff the arepas with maduros myself and it was delicious. The cachapa is for the morning but I had a bite and it was so fresh and the queso de mano was perfect in it. Not every place uses queso de mano so when I find a place that does I know it's going to be delicious. The cheese pull you get is insane with that cheese. As a fellow Colombian I had a craving for some Colombian food. I was a little skeptical at first because they are Colombian/Venezuelan truck, but they knocked it out of the park. I had the pabellon arepa and the flavor was amazing. I tried to savor the arepa, but it was so delicious that I couldn't help but devour it. I also ordered the Colombian empanadas, chicharron, and tequeños. They were all extremely satisfying. The tequeños were a pleasant cheesy surprise. After I took the first bite I kept going back for more. My only regret was that I didn't order more of them. Amazing food and friendly staff. If I could rate the customer service a "0", I would. The food overall is good. I've been a customer for 5+ years. I recently went to pick up a custom made arepa (chicharrón and cheese only) and when I asked the blonde lady for a side of "limes" as my condiment she stated " no we can't give you that" with an attitude. I was confused and asked her again nicely why I couldn't get a side of Iimes? She proceeded to shut her window to talk to someone and then came back to argue with me about how my order doesn't come with limes. At this point, she already knew she was in the wrong and when I called her out and told her that I know the arepa doesn't come with lime, but if I'm asking for it, you can't just give it to me? Heck, charge me a dollar for limes, I don't really care but don't tell me that you can't give me limes with my order LOL. The lime was for my chicharrón in the arepa. The blonde rude lady didn't have to give me a hard time for this. At the end of the day, she ended up giving me LEMONS instead of limes! I can't make this up! I was a bit disappointed when I first tried this truck. Having been to Orlando where the best arepas ever made so far, this place is a bit disappointing. I had the pabellon arepa and it was void of much flavor except for the banana. The bread and the schredded beef were a bit dry. Also, the way they pack this thing makes you eat the bananas and beans last because they're at the bottom of the sandwich. Gusto gourmet to me has the best arepas in town. My wife had the Tasty arepa and she said the tastes doesnt really compliment each other. The Choco arepa was also the same price as the other arepas when all you get is a piece of bread and a slice of cheese. I am now in love with Arepas and am so glad this food truck came to my apartment complex. I will admit, I was a bit skeptical when I first walked up to order. The menu didn't have a very good description of what an Arepa exactly was, but I am not gonna pass up on an Areapa from a food truck called Tasty Areapa. Needless to say, they were delicious. The sauce was wonderful, the meat was well seasoned and the cheese added a nice texture. None of the flavors were too overwhelming on their own, but together, they made a very flavorful meal. The only thing I could imagine that people don't like about the Arepas here, is how messy they can be. Meat and cheese tend to fall out with each bite (that is never an issue for me, I just put it on the fires...which were also great). I am so excited we finally have an option for great empanadas and arepas near the Heights!!! Loved the arepa #1! We also tried tequenos, and both the Venezuelan and Colombian empanadas... all good! I was recommended this place by a Venezuelan friend. He didn't disappoint. I had been craving arepas and patacones and this place delivered. Thick, hot, fried, and covered in greasy goodness. Portions were more than adequate and the service was quick. They have seating outside to watch the cars go by. Otherwise, parking can be a challenge but there's not usually a big crowd so it's not that big a problem.
