Been craving some Peruvian food and found this shop having one of my favorite dishes from Peru. Was super excited to see how this one was prepared since it's not really common to find this dish in Arizona. The food came out pretty quick, which was great and the meat was cut in nice proportions. The flavors are all there in every single way. Been to Peru, had this in Peru, and it's better here. Period. When I lived in St. Louis I found a place with delicious lomo saltado but it was close to $50. This one is close to $20. My three year old thought it was so delicious. I'd say this was some of the best Spanish food I've had in a very long time! I loved this place overall. Initially, the guy who took my order took a very long time to notice me when I walked up to the counter. I thought I got his attention at least twice but it took a few minutes for him to come over. After I ordered, I walked around the Post until I was notified that it was ready. It was moderately priced but so so so delicious. I ordered the coconut shrimp curry with empanadas. The Tacu Tacu is an amazing dish, and you need to try it NOW. The rice is light and fluffy, perfectly cooked. The savoriness of the seared beef and pan sauce is balanced well by the acidity from the tomatoes and the kick from the onions (roasted so they're just the right amount of tanginess, not too much and not too little). The Chicha Morada drink gives off beetroot and floral notes which are a great palette cleanser for the savory and acidic bits in the dish. This has me wanting more in the days to come. read more

My husband and I went to The Post Market food hall to have some dinner. He chose to try Peruvian food. As ceviche lovers and Peruvian food lovers we couldn't wait to try Andes Cafe. We wanted ceviche of course, but I also wanted Leche de Tigre, so we asked more fish in the ceviche mixto instead of shrimp, and instead of the shrimp some crispy calamari. Staff is great, they gave us exactly as we ordered with no hesitation whatsoever. Service is quick also. Decor of the place is very authentic to Peru. The ceviche looked great, fresh fish, camote, canchitas, choclo, fried crunchy calamari, fresh onion and cilantro. The leche de Tigre had the perfect acidity, and spice to it, next time I would order more leche in my ceviche. I recommend Andes Cafe. read more

I should start by mentioning I'm allergic to corn so I have not been able to try all the dishes but when I do come by they are extremely helpful with modifications to my ceviche. I've actually had the majority of the main dishes/appetizers/sides on the menu! I really appreciate how small the menu is because I think that's what makes all the dishes so good. My favorites are fish ceviche, mixed ceviche, the churrasco, and the coconut shrimp. The restaurant is very small but cute and the staff is very friendly. As a fan of the restaurant's East End location, I was happy to read that Andes Cafe is now located inside my weekly rotation, Bravery Chef Hall. Chef David happened to be there on our recent visit and sold us on the sudado de pescado (Peruvian seafood stew), which was on the "secret menu." It's around $20, but keep in mind it's a generous portion of perfectly cooked seafood in a savory sauce and served with rice (two of us happily shared this dish along with a few other sides). For now, it's officially my new favorite dish at Bravery Chef Hall. Looking forward to trying their sudado de vegetales (their 100% vegan stew), along with a few cebiches that I've been missing from their original location. read more

I went to Houston to look for Bolivian food. This restaurant has food from various South American countries and it does have a few Bolivian dishes on the menu. We had the Pique Macho as an appetizer. It was my first time eating the dish so I can't verify its authenticity but I can say that it tasted delicious. I love the combination of the fries, sausage and meats but the real star was the juice that comes with it. I tasted vinegar and other goodness and I loved dipping the food to pack it with flavor. The empanadas were also very good but I wouldn't say they stood out. The ceviche mixto was on the pricier side so I did appreciate that it was something that came with plenty to share with our group of 4. The drinks were fresh. We enjoyed the natural fruit juices of mango and soursop with milk. The Chicha Morada was also a hit! The service was quick as the place is very small. I think it may have 14 places to sit total. It's located in the Post which is a big Food Hall in a building that used to be a post office. There are many other places and varieties of foods to choose from so you can eat here and then get a dessert like ice cream. We got an order of Arepas con Queso, which are coarse white corn meal disks sprinkled with white cheese - and served with crema on the side. 3 to an order is great for sharing - well, better get 6. They are very good. Coconut shrimp curry is served with white rice, a pickled onion and tomato slaw and fried plantains. The curry is light and flavorful, pairing beautifully with the fluffy white rice. The curry doesn't overwhelm the sweetness of the shrimp - this is a great dish and we will definitely get it again! This spot had the smallest wait time - and it was NOT for lack of flavor in their food. Trust me. They had their processes down and they produced fantastic food. I know - hard to believe! Empanadas Colombianas | Three tasty Colombian versions of empanadas filled with meat and potatoes all wrapped in a crunchy - fried shell of an empanada. It comes with some flavorful lightly citrus/tomato based sauce (?) that adds very milk flavor to the empanadas and somewhat doesn't stick well - even if you pour it in. I'd recommend a sauce that has a thicker consistency if possible. The weak sauce left the empanadas slightly dry, but nonetheless - it was still a great experience - 5.8/10 Cachapa with Pork | Fantasic! This cormeal-based pancake-like dish caught my eye when it passed me as I entered the store. With a strong handcrafted cheese, it all merges beautifully together (especially with the pork + sauce) to act as what I believe to be an Andean pork bun / bao bun! This was my first time trying this place! The server was friendly and he recommended me to try the ceviche embrujado "haunted" because it was "filling." I decided to give it a shot since it was my first time. It costed 25$. I was informed it would take 15-20 mins which is no big deal, since it was semi busy. After 30+ mins I decided to ask the server, if my food was gonna come out anytime soon. It felt like they forgot my order. The ceviche embrujado consisted of mahi-mahi, razor clams, black clams, sea urchin, lupini beans, okinawa potato, aji limo, panther's milk. My plate was missing razor clams and sea urchins! At that time, I didn't notice I was missing parts of my meal because it was my first time so I assumed the portion size was this small.
