On our way home from our mountain property, my wife looked up some taco places online. We were traveling west on the 210 and Sabor Yucateco was one of the places that came up and had a good positive rating in the area. It was a few miles out of our way, but we were craving tacos! On arrival, we found a nice clean place in a little strip mall in Rialto. Boy, am I glad we stopped by! They have a complete menu of delicious Mexican food, but we were there for the tacos and they were some of the best that I can remember! One of the tacos I had never had before was called "cochinita pibil", oh my goodness, delicious, tasty chunks of tender pork with an amazing seasoning that was beyond good. If you're not yucateco ask what some of the food items are. They have traditional names that might scare you off, but once you taste the food, you won't care what a salbut is or a kibi. The flavors are a bit unique, but being a Yucateca raised in this country this place hits home with the traditional dishes that you just cannot find around here. Let me start off by saying my family is from yucatan so I judge any comida yucateco pretty hard. I tried the Salbute, panucho, & cochinita. My favorite was the panucho. The chicken can be a little more juicy in terms of dryness. The cochinita also needs a little more salt but the greasiness is all there. Delicious overall. I'm so glad I finally came to try this place because it will now be my go to when I'm too lazy to make salbutes or Panuchos myself. A nice little hole in the wall that's actually good. I told them no chili on anything what so ever and they confirmed with me inside the restaurant that there wasn't anything spicy. We open up the papazules and there's a chili habanero on them. That meal was suppose to be for SMALL KIDS. We called them back and they started arguing with us saying that the chili habanero is for decoration when we specifically told them not to put anything hot or spicy on the food. I decided to drive there got there 8:20 they had the sign open ON!!! Me and the family were craving some tacos for taco Tuesday. 3/12/24 We found this place by searching up "tacos near me" . Service 10/10 - When you walk in you get greeted within less than a minute, the guy in the front was friendly and outgoing but not only that he was VERY patient with my Tia that has special needs. Which is rare to find now days! He was helpful by answering all our questions about the menu since it was our first time, the menu was pretty foreign to us. Never tried Yucatán dishes before but we had to give it a shot. Asada taco 4/5 - it was good, pretty good size and portion of meat if you ask me! The meat was flavorful and soft. There was some fat which did suck though. Cheese Empanadas 10/10! - I was too excited and forgot to take a picture before. But the presentation was great! Had a lot of cheese on which is always the best! It was fresh and hot when I got it , the first bite felt like heaven. Everything melts in your mouth perfectly. Carne empanada 3/5 - it's for-sure different compared to the empanadas de carne I've tried.. I personally thought it lacked flavor and was very oily. It's not the best or the worst. Won't come back for it. Salbutes De pollo 4/5 - We were looking at the menu when my boyfriend spotted this, we decided to try it. It was dryer than expected, they put some type of tomato sauce on the empanadas if they add that on these it would make it so much better! The place is over all clean but the guys working there was really something else but I'll get to that in just a second we order 2 beers and then order 2 plates that we ask for Chili verde and when we got the plate it was not what we ordered they gave how meat on a bone with tomato sauce no flavor what so ever so when the young guy came back over we told him we didn't like it if we can get something else but by the time he came back over we just decided to pay for the beer soooo this is where it gets bad the young guy started saying he can't take the food back cause it's health department rules I'm like what the heck so then the owner came over and said what was wrong and we told him what was going on and he's like well it's not my fault you don't like the food and we can't take it back and then said at least pay for one plate cause we order it we said no we will pay for the beers causes that's what he had and he's kept on then started saying don't ever come back here cause the food isn't for us just over all bad experience for the first and last time ever going there highly disappointed in this joke of a place restaurant read more

When I found this restaurant on yelp I was not only surprised but weary of finding an authentic Yucateco place. There are so few places that serve food from Yucatán even in Los Angeles let alone San Bernardino. Mexican Food restaurants are a dime a dozen but finding food from Yucatán is not easy, so we were happy to discover Sabor Yucatán The restaurant is located in Rialto in a mini mall and you might miss it but it's worth your time. The minute you arrive you are instantly greeted by a very friendly server, the place is not too big but with enough space to be comfortable. Nicely decorated with items from Yucatán and little trinkets and snacks to buy from the region including "quedo de bola". The menu has a nice selection of favorite dishes , cochinita pibil , kibi, pok chul, salbutes , panuchos and many other delicious options. They have a nice breakfast but I was there for lunch so can't speak to that. Of course they have flan which is a little different than the Mexican flan. Several Mexican sodas and beers. We had a great time and the food was delicious and we will certainly be coming back. The restaurant has been in that location for about six months and the owners starting cooking out of their home till the found a place. They are from Peto Yucatán and they cook with yucateco spices and flavors. If your looking for food from Yucatán please come and visit this wonderful place. read more
