While traveling in Morgantown, WV., I stopped by Sabraton Station. I'll preface the fact that I am a wing connoisseur, so my expectations for wings may be a bit too high. I did a quick search looking for the best wings in town, and this restaurant was within a decent distance from my location, so I decided to drop by. I ordered for pickup, so I couldn't give much insight on the overall vibe of the restaurant. It's very much a sports bar and there was some light music playing. As I walked in, I was quickly greeted by the bar back and the young lady assisted with my takeout order. Others at the bar appear to have been enjoying their time and drink. Now to the wings, I ordered buffalo wings with a side of Thai sauce. The wings were heavily breaded and could've used more seasoning. The Thai sauce might've been better tossed with the wings. I also ordered a side of fries. The fries were actually really good. Overall, this wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't leave a lasting impression or exceed my expectations. read more

Sabraton Station has quickly climbed to the top of the rankings for best wings in Morgantown! We went here in Wednesday before their Trivia Night rush, and I was very happy with my experience. Our waitress, Brooke, was new but she was extremely knowledgeable and took good care of us. She recommended the Corona wings. She said they were a dry rub and described them as not being spicy but having a lot of flavor. They were fantastic! I got 10 BIG wings, and they came out extra crispy without me having to ask. It is worth it to upgrade to the Brew Fries for an extra $0.50! There is a ton of covered outdoor seating with a large TV on the wall. The inside has a great bar and gives the vibe of an old time bar with the lighting, but everything has been updated and it is very clean. Brooke explained to us that their wing night is on Thursdays, where they offer $0.89 wings. Monday is steak night, and Wednesday at 7:00pm is Trivia. After 10 wings (not on wing night), a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and two sides of Brew Fries, our total came to $35. Much cheaper than other places around Morgantown! I was much more impressed with SS than I was with Kegler's. We will be back! read more

First off, I've been eating food from Sabraton Station (previously known as Archie's) since I was young. Most notibly their wings which have always been great even under new ownership. The staff have always been friendly any time I visit whether it's dining in or takeout and the atmosphere pairs even better with the service. They always have some type of special running, and it never fails to deliver, must visit if you're in the area! read more

This is the local watering hole that is a great sports bar also.. We got to enjoy wing night which was .89 cents wings that are large and meaty... they were amazing.. we also tried cheese sticks another home run the must try are the fried zucchini... beer prices just right, wings large and in charge at a great price along with many sandwiches and apps to chose from. The food was really excellent. The flavors were better than I thought they would be. I went into this thinking the food would be ho-hum/ dive bar type of food. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a restaurant that uses Fiestaware. We came in on the tail end of a Thursday evening rush. The server was very busy but still did a thorough job. We ended up sitting outside on the back patio at a picnic table. It was hard for me to sit the entire meal without back support. The environment is about typical for what a sports bar would be like, with the neon signs and TVs on every wall. In all I really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back again in the future. This was our first visit, but definitely not my last. Our server was amazing. She was very friendly and kept our drinks filled. We got the Corona and Thai wings. The wings arrived piping hot and tasted delicious. The wings have a lot of meat on the bone and are well worth the price. Wow!, we stumbled onto this place after a trip to Ruby. Monday Steak Night - 14 oz New York Strip with a salad and a side. I had the vegetables and they were fresh and delicious. The steak was more than I could eat and cooked perfectly! And the price. . . $14.99, unbelievable! read more

Food was typical of any other place. Slow, rude server. Overcharged. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

Awful atmosphere- went with my husband to watch game today. A guy sitting at bar with bartender that used to work there mocking patrons sitting there watching game. Then a confrontation started between parties.The guy that started the whole thing threatened to shoot patron sitting beside him. The family got up to leave to avoid any further issues then the bartender working started making a scene screaming profanity behind the bar. This used to be a nice place to go but anymore the PR in this establishment is awful. This place used to be packed but not now. We actually got up and left without finishing our food. Sad read more

Haven't been to saberton station in a while.. picked up a meal on the way home from work, unfortunately the chicken cheesesteak we ordered had a terrible burnt taste to it, although my chicken was not burnt clearly it was cooked after or on the same Grill as something that was burnt. Neither my husband or I were able to eat it. Pretty sure this is cooking 101, no offense to the chef but I would think he or she would know that the flavors would be picked up. read more

They have the best flavor wing in town (Corona). The only thing is, the wings are also the smallest in town. I used to go here every Thursday. But when your paying 50 cents a wing, and they are the size of your thumb, it's time to try somewhere else. He would get a lot more customers if he got a normal size wing. read more

Great food EVERY visit. The service can be a little hit or miss, but generally it's pretty good. Today I tried the ribs for the first time. Amazing. Obviously slow cooked properly. Very meaty, minimal fat and the meat falls off the bone. I never used my hands, only a fork. Very good, peppery sauce. Came with a delightfully tasty pretzel roll, much to my dismay (I'm avoiding carbs). I all ALL of that. The ribs were too much after a bowl of soup (in place of my side), and dinner salad. I brought half a rack home and that will be lunch tomorrow. The soup was tasty. Usually they have red pepper crab. Today it was some tomato sausage gumbo of sort. Was a little light on things other than tomato, but it was a delicious soup despite that. The side salad was also top notch for a dinner salad. 4 olives, slices of onion and green and red pepper. 4 tomatoes. And I like the dark balsamic dressing. The light is too sweet for my taste. I like the French onion soup as well. The roasted red pepper crab is tasty and frequently the soup of the day. Excellent burgers, fish and chips and pasta. Something for everyone. Yes, we have had times where we were wondering where our server went, but we are there twice a month since they reopened and that's happened, well, twice. Both times it was new girls. They have a pretty established group of front house workers now. They make excellent pork BBQ; but that's a special. I miss the pot roast from Archie's. The new management is one of the old owners kids. And no, I have no connection to ANY of them other than the place is close to my mom's house, and my neighbor, a town away, is old retired work buddies with one of the two former owners. I could go with a little less classic rock and country, being an old punk rocker myself; but that "ain't" going to happen in this slightly upscale biker type bar. Lots of TVs and they will have the game on or put whatever game on you want to, if you're patient. Handy since I'm not a fan of the local team. We'll leave it at that. I don't go, ever, on bike week or WVU games tho. YMMV. I give Sabraton Station "aka Archie's reborn" 4 stars and a must try. Cheers read more

The first waitress was attentive and accommodating. When her shift was over we were ignored at our table by the remaining staff. Patrons at the bar seemed to get full attention and we had to hail the bartender and then approach the bar to get any service. When she did decide to pay us any mind, she made sure we saw her wipe the lipstick off of my wine glass before pouring. Then the other drink, a beer, was far from full. We've given this place too many tries. I wanted to love the new place and management but I'm afraid it's a waste. read more

Came in the other day for a quick bite to eat and a few beers on my way home from a business trip, and was very pleased with the service and overall environment of the restaurant. I was amazed at how quickly the food had come out, about 10-15 minutes after I ordered. I got the "Whale of a fish" sandwich, it was very plentiful, I had to take the rest home with me! My server, Alyssa was very attentive and had a great personality. The bartender put my drinks out in very minimal time. Whenever I find myself in the Morgantown area again, I will definitely be stopping by. read more
