I recently visited the Sabrina Salon in Rochester Hills, located in the same plaza as Trader Joe's, off Walton and Adams. I was disappointed with my experience. My mother, who had recently been discharged from the hospital, needed hair care. I accompanied her to the salon and inquired about the cost of a hair color and layering service. The stylist quoted me $100 and estimated the service would take an hour and a half. When I returned to pick up my mother, the stylist was still working on her hair and asked for permission to dry her hair, which I granted. However, I was surprised to find that we were charged $170, excluding tip. When I questioned the discrepancy, the stylist explained that the additional cost was for the haircut, dye and drying. My mother, who prefers to avoid confrontation, felt uncomfortable discussing the issue, so we paid the amount. Given my mother's hair care needs, I believe the additional charge was excessive. I am frustrated with the experience and feel that the pricing was not transparent. I intend to file a formal complaint with the Michigan Better Business Bureau and write a letter to the state of Michigan regarding the salon's pricing practices. I've been getting my hair cut by Carol for years now and I can't say enough good things. I start every cut with a shampooing which might be my favorite part! My scalp is prone to buildup and Carol leaves my hair and scalp feeling so clean. My hair is thick and curly and Carol does a great job with my trims. read more

First time here ... was happy I got in on the same day I called . But that being said felt like the stylist was rushed . Very friendly and beautiful salon but don't feel I got the $200 not including tip experience. Verdict still out on partial highlights / grey cover up . Haircut is nice . Ok .. just styled my hair and highlights are definitely not the greatest placement.. toner left on longer perhaps would of helped .. only checked on me once while processing. . RIPPED OFF! I was charged $700.00 for MCROBLADING and told the treatment will last 4-5 years by the owner of Sabrina's Salon 970 John R Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307 located in the back of the the Twisted Oak Liquor Store. After having paid $700.00 for Microblading, several people told me that I was way over charged! So I directly communicated with the lady who did my brows at SABRINA Salon. Her name is Noor Helantoo, in her text she wrote that she charges $300.00 for Microblading and $100.00 for touch-ups. A vast difference from the $700.00 I paid! Additionally, I was also quoted a cost of $150.00 in writing by the owner of Sabrina's Salon for a LASH LIFT. I directly communicated with the lady who does the Lash Lift. Her name is Donia, in her text response her price is $100.00. I had my lashes done directly with Donia in order to save $50,00. She did an excellent job at a lower price. There is an extreme discrepancy between the quotes from the owner of Sabrina Salon and quotes by her outside contacts!! Finally after 40 years I have found my favorite salon. Karol and team were amazing and very attentive. I feel fab.

The salon itself is nice and the owner is very sweet, I will give her that, but those were the only good things about my experience here. I should have listened to the other reviews I read about this place. I've been getting my hair highlighted for at least 10 years now, and never have I been charged as much as I was here. It was at least $50 more than other salons. They don't tell you how much things cost as you go along, they just explain it to you at the cash register when all is said and done. I was absolutely done with this place and knew I was never going back when during my cash out, she said "and then we blow dried, so that's $30..." ummm, I just paid you to highlight and cut my hair, and you're charging me to blow dry it? Were you going to let me leave with a sopping wet head? Which I guess I might have chosen if they had said BEFORE they dried my hair, "hey we're going to charge you $30 for this" but they did it without telling me that of course. I have NEVER been charged for a blow dry when I'm having other services done. Not only am I upset with the way this place dishonestly takes your money, but for the ridiculous price I paid, I should be in love with how my hair looks, and it's only ok. The owner was hovering over the girl who was doing my hair pretty much the entire time, like she needed to be told what to do at every step. It didn't make me trust her very much. And this girl didn't have my head far enough back in the sink while she was washing my hair, causing her to splash water down my face and shoulders. I felt like I was being drowned. I had a good hair color and trim and blow dry the owner is good with hiding gray hair the best highlights ever.i will be going back the price was higher than I ever paid but it was worth it. The nail tech was not good she had to leave in the middle of doing me so somebody not a nail tech finish and the two nails did not last a week the ped was not one that I would ever go back for unless they hire somebody that knows what they are suppose to do no hot towels or nobody rubbed my legs with lotion. My first time at this establishment was 6 months ago. I received a wash, cut, blowout and my eyebrows done. I thought the pricing was very fair and comparable to other salons. I found the owner and the employees to be kind and professional. The place is beautiful and very clean. My husband now goes here bi-monthly for his cuts, I'll continue to give them my business as well and when my daughter is old enough, she'll be getting her hair cut here as well. I've also been in Sabrina's while they're doing hair and makeup for wedding parties and everyone always looks beautiful. read more

This was my second time here after I told myself I wouldn't go back due to how they charge you and once again it happened again. I'm not sure why you post a price online I.e. kids hair cuts $10 but then charge $15. When questioned why there is a price difference the response was because the length and thickness. No where on the website does it say anything about being charged more for having longer hair or because you have thick hair. Just like someone walked in and had apt to be colored another day and asked how much they told her $100, the website states $50. If you aren't going to chArge what is listed on your website then you are false advertising. However you should also state starts at $50 for coloring or kids hair cuts start at $10. I will not go back because this is what happened when I went myself a year ago but wanted to give a local business shop another chance. They also wanted to wash her hair because it's so thick then they would have just charged for that as well as attempted to blow dry I said no to both because I would have ended up paying $30 for a child's haircut yet advertised for $10 read more
