Most disappointing Pad Thai I have ever had...seriously...the mainstay of any Thai restaurant and if based solely on this dish, I'm talking one star. I don't know how you can make this dish so bland. It's almost like they forgot half the ingredients. Luckily, we ordered multiple dishes that redeemed this ill-fated dish. The Catfish Prik Khing was one of the best dishes I've eaten in a while. Crispy fried, slightly spicy, catfish balanced with perfectly fried, yet slightly crunchy green beans made this dish SPECTACULAR! I will come back for this dish any day of the week. It was that perfect. The real star of this restaurant though is the service...friendly, fast, and very accommodating. If I had let it be known how much I disliked the Pad Thai, there's a good chance that something would have been done about it...I wasn't there to get a dish comped or even remade so I let it be...besides, we were tight on time. Nonetheless, give this place a go...if you like things a little spicier or flavorful, I'd recommend you stay away from the Pad Thai or in the least, let them know you want some spice. My family and I did takeout for dinner. We've never been here before but have been curious about it for a while. It was absolutely delicious! My parents and cousin's wife and cousin's daughter ordered vegetarian versions of the Pad Kee Mow, Street Fried Rice, Spicy Spaghetti Noodles, the Fall Curry, and Red Curry. They were all so good! Everyone was a fan of the red curry especially because of the warmth from the spice. My cousin and I ordered chicken versions of the Basil Fried Rice and the Spicy Green Bean. Absolutely incredible! We ordered at level 4 spicy and they were spicy. Not over the top, just right. I will absolutely be back to eat at the restaurant and will totally do take out again! We drive from Canby to eat here. This place is a sweet gem we found. Eaten here at least four times and each time I have gotten something different from the menu. Excellent food. Fresh tasting and delicious. The heat range is 1 to 4. I get it at 3 and the spice is perfect. The service is outstanding. The prices are very reasonable starting at $12+. Ate here for the first time today, we ordered the bbq pork skewers, chicken wings, crab wrappers, mini dumplings, garlic pepper chicken, chicken pad Thai and I tried the Anchan lemonade. Everything was really good. The food came out super fast. Like less than 10 mins fast! The people working the front were very nice. Overall the restaurant is very cute inside with paintings snd when I was walking out I noticed a really cute bench surrounded by tropical aesthetics which I love. We have eaten in twice and ordered takeout several times since March. This is our favorite Thai place in Sherwood. The chicken wings are always crispy and delicious and we found our new favorite dish Goong Gai Ka Prao Grob, it's spicy, sweet and amazing. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!! AND NOT KID FRIENDLY. We came here twice and both times the guy server had such a horrible attitude. And every experience got worse and worse. First experience he told my husband to keep the door closed with such attitude. But my husband had to hold the door open for me since I was pushing a stroller inside the restaurant. Then as we were leaving the restaurant he followed us out and as we drove off he was shaking his head while staring at our cars driving off. We wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because my husband and I both worked in customer service years ago and we understand that sometimes people have bad days. We came back again tonight because we actually enjoyed their food and it seemed like he remembered us and the moment we walked in we told him we have a big party. and my husband said "hey can we sit over there in the corner like last time?" He immediately yelled no with so much attitude. My husband gave me a look like wtf was that about? Then the lady server remembered us from last time and she was so nice and greeted us and told us to sit where we sat last time. She is the sweetest server but the guy is a complete A*Hole. The whole time we sat there and ate, I was watching him greet every table with water and refilling their water cups but not once did he come to our table to refill ours. He just kept giving us looks from where he stood at the register. He also kept walking to every table asking how their food was but not once did he acknowledge our table. Until it was time to pay, my husband put his card on the tray he immediately came to our table and took the card without saying a single word. Then he processed the payment and put the card down on the table and didn't even say a single thank you or even say a single word to us. And has the audacity to add gratuity on our check when he didn't even add gratuity the first time we dined there. Honestly he's lucky he added the tip because we weren't even planning on tipping with such horrible attitude. But that tip should all go to the female waitress because she was the only one who was kind to us from the moment we walked in. We will never come back to this restaurant. Honestly we love supporting small businesses but I definitely don't recommend coming here especially if you have a large party with kids. They definitely profile and if you have a big party with kids the guy will definitely give you attitude and won't serve you. Someone like him should not be in the business of customer service. Such a great find in sleepy Sherwood. Let's start with the food (duh). My family has been to this restaurant three times now and every single thing we've eaten has been amazing - and I don't mean in the Yelp hyperbolic, 'the pancakes at iHop are amazing' kind of way. I mean this is legit Thai street food and the flavors are incredible. Let's move on to service which is a mixed bag. The servers are prompt, attentive, and don't speak great English. I say this because you can expect for them to not understand your order. They are clearly more comfortable speaking Thai than English and that's totally okay because...see paragraph number 1. The food is incredible. The ambience is what you might get at a strip mall Subway sandwich shop. It's not intimate and romantic, but it's clean and you get table service. Our most recent adventure there had our order for the four of us screwed up several times, but I'll give them a pass on that because, in case you missed my earlier point - the food is amazing! read more

There's one word that describes Sabye- Authentic My wife and I had just gotten off the plane from PDX and was trying to find a place that was still opened as we were approaching the 8pm hour when most restaurants and eateries have and would soon close. Driving towards Sherwood, my lovely significant other found Sabye and they were closing at 8:30pm. We were able to get there 15 min before closing and they were happy to take our orders. The man behind the counter was very friendly and suggested some of their dishes. We started with Tom Yum Creamy soup, Mango Beef and Pineapple Fried Rice and topped off our orders with two Thai Iced Teas. The pineapple in the fried rice is so fresh. I can tell that it was not canned as it had a more harder texture and slightly sour flavor; the same as what you would taste from a freshly sliced pineapple. It had raisins and cashews along with our protein choice of chicken. The Mango Beef was sweet and refreshing. I like how the mangoes and red bell peppers add sweetness to the dish and the beef was soft and not hard. Tom Yum is epic! The ingredients, peppers, lemon grass and other flavors are so much different from what I'm used to tasting in the Bay Area. I took a peek inside the kitchen and the Aunties were the ones cooking. To our surprise they gave us extra white rice on the side. They forgot to add some utensils but that's ok as we were able to ask for some at the hotel. What an excellent addition to Sherwood. Sabye offers a few of the Thai-American classics, a good Pad Thai for example. But most of the menu space here is devoted to Thai dishes we don't often see in America. To understand this, know that the same owners have another long-established Thai restaurant just a few blocks away which is also quite good and which does all the usual stuff. These people opened Sabye to have a space to more widely express their passion for the food of their homeland. The result is amazing. Some of this food is challenging to American palates. Try it. You may like it. Some of it's just not for everyone. I salute Sabye for offering it for those who are a bit adventurous. The rest of the food here is some combination of eye-opening (and/or sinus-opening), palate-expanding, mind-blowing, and/or simply delicious. I haven't had anything here I didn't end up liking. My favorite is the catfish. My advice if you come as a group is to ask for extra plates and order family-style so that everyone can try several dishes. A few practical items: Sabye is in a strip-mall sort of development just off Highway 99W and anchored by Planet Fitness, so look for those signs. There's plenty of parking including handicapped spots. Sabye is very handicapped accessible. There isn't a specific children's menu and portions are large (children will delight in the ice-tea beverage that changes color... adults do too). Sabye does takeout well. They haven't yet offered outside dining, but the sidewalk in front is big and maybe in the future. The dining room is quite and mercifully lacking in TV screens. The decor is simple and the style very casual. Conclusion: come here for an adventurous meal. Do come here. read more

I'm not going to lie; I'm a Khao Soi snob. I almost gave up. It's been too sweet everywhere I've been stateside. But I loved the dish, so I was determined to find something worthy of the giant vats they have of it in Chiang Mai. It's such a delicious dish when made right. So enter Sabye Street Food. Who doesn't love Thai street food? It's "new and hot" so it was worth a try. My husband ordered the Crispy Pork Belly Kra Prao. He loved it. We don't usually order pork dishes, but this was excellent. I obviously ordered the Khao Soi. I ordered it Thai spicy and got asked a few times if I was sure...they use Thai chilies! Hooray! I was stoked. Nearly everywhere you order something five out of five spicy, it's not very spicy. But Thai chilies are legit (do people even say that anymore???). I was impressed that my Khao Soi was actually spicy--make your nose run spicy. It had a nice blend of sweet and spicy, the Thai way. I will definitely be back to try other dishes too. I am sad they didn't have Khao Pad Kra Prao Gai. That's my one of my favorite dishes, though I never found it in Thailand, and they thought I was crazy when I tried to order it. Maybe it's an Americanized version of the stir fry dish. I don't know. But go here. Try the Khao Soi. You won't regret it. Oooooh, and the chicken in it is melt-in-your-mouth good. My wife and I have been ordering take-out from Sabye all year. It's our go-to spot for the best Yellow Curry we've ever had. None of that plain carrots/onions/potato nonsense here! Instead you get bell peppers, avocado, cashews, and MANGO. WHAT?!? We phone in around 7:30 and it's always ready within 15 minutes or so. A few years ago I was reading a review of Sabye and the individual sang the praises of a dish called Khao Soi. Intrigued, I ordered it my first time coming here and I can honestly say I have never ordered anything else since. For years I have ordered this dish at least once every few weeks. It is my ambrosia. While I would give Sabye 5/5 stars for this dish alone, my family has informed me the other dishes are quite good as well. I really wanted to give this place a 1 star but I was able to make my food a bit better adding my own soy sauce and thai hot sauce. I did order delivery through ubereats so maybe the long delivery time was part of the reason why the food tasted pretty bad. All 3 noodles ordered (chicken pad see ew, chicken pad kee mao, and tofu pad thai) were EXTREMELY bland and dry. I already knew after the first bite it was going to be bad. I also feel these noodle dishes are very common across many thai restaurants and shouldn't be the ones to mess up on. Last month my husband and I went for the first time. That afternoon we had hot pot for two. We had never had hot pot but a friend has raved about it for ages. I think she's on to something. It is delicious. The whole process of making food at the table is really fun. We returned today to correctly learn how the process is done. I've never eaten inside of the restaurant, but it's clean and you can kind of see through to the kitchen and it looks very clean. I will usually order and pay online and pick up (convenient during pandemic). The staff is always efficient and kind when I come in. My husband always gets the Thai Street Fried Rice w/chicken. If he's going to eat fried rice, this is his go to place for it. I eat the Chinese broccoli for him. The shrimp rolls are interesting, they have avocado in it... gives it a creamy texture that is different from Vietnamese style rolls. I'm going to be honest and say that their peanut sauce is just ok, my preference is for it to be smoother... however I don't come here for their rolls, I go elsewhere for it. I was missing my mom's cooking, so I once ordered their Larb (chicken), Som Tum Thai (medium), and a side of sticky rice. It was fantastic. Their noodle dishes are pretty tasty, too: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Pad Kee Mao - always very fresh tasting. I've tried the Khao Mun Gai Todd and it was pretty good - the fragrant rice was delicious and the fried chicken was fine. It's almost like a lighter version of KFC... They make some pretty darn good Kaew Wan Neua (green curry), but I think my winning dish is the Mussaman Chicken. I love how strong that curry is and it just hits the spot. As much as I love the food here and I do come here very often (as you can tell from above), it is once in a while... a miss for them. It depends on who is cooking that day. Sometimes the steamed rice is too mushy. Sometimes they literally put a whole onion into the Mussaman Chicken - where you have to deconstruct the onion. And sometimes their Khao Mun Gai Todd was not cooked long enough to have that crunch on the fried chicken. Overall, I love this place, because I keep coming back. read more
